10 eggs is brilliant. Glad it went well MPP

lucieloos · 01/08/2016 11:37

That's brilliant news MPP! Fingers crossed for lots of mature and fertilised eggs tomorrow. Glad you liked the drugs haha. Hope you have a good rest back at your hotel.

Banana, I am so sorry your cycle was cancelled. I know you were half expecting it but it must still be so hard. Its fab that your doctor is so supportive about trying things though. I am thinking of you xx

Lucie, I know I've saaid it elsewhere but congrats again on the fertilisation results! You must be so thrilled!

Loving the random places people have triggered, and thanks for the good luck wishes!

AFM, this morning went fine. I was a bit of a wreck going in (I worry way too much I think!) but it was very quick and straightforward. Lucie, you were right, the anaesthetic is fab! They collected ten eggs altogether, DH gave his sample and now we wait for fertilisation results! We are currently back in our hotel room and have ordered room service so we can eat before collapsing into bed after our late night/early morning.

Hope everyone else is doing ok!

Brenna24 · 01/08/2016 09:23

Banana - sorry to hear there's not been a miracle. I know you were realistic about it, but i imagine it still stings.

The wash sounds really interesting, I'm glad your doctor is so open to trying these things. You're so good at your research, I get lost after the first few scientific words! Xx

lucieloos · 31/07/2016 17:16

That all sounds good banana. It's disappointing that this round has been cancelled but it sounds like you have a good number of options. As you say you know you get pregnant so I think once you crack this bit you will be sorted.

No surprises here, cycle is cancelled. Which was a given - lining hadn't moved at all

I'd sent through some medical studies about trying a G-CSF uterine wash as a rescue treatment for thin endometrium - he thought the results looked really impressive so he's keen to give it a go. He's going to chase down some Neupogen from a pharmacy and get me in for a wash asap - will serve as a saline ultrasound too, so he can visualise the surface of the endometrium and area of adenomyosis better.

Studies say to do it on day of hCG trigger, so will have first wash asap - then potentially repeat 2 days later (equivalent to day of EC) to see if it has any effect. If it does then we will definitely do it next time.

Even if it does thicken up after the wash, we won't transfer this time because the lining is too poor at this stage to risk it.

We agreed not to TTC naturally - not just because of three follicles, but more because of the increased risk of miscarrying again if something did implant into such a poor quality endometrium. Dr is less worried about getting pregnant than staying pregnant - and that after so much emotional trauma, we want to do everything possible to help me sustain a pregnancy.

Depending on what the wash scan(s) shows there are two routes for next steps

a) if he's happy with how it's looking, once I've had a bleed and the ovaries are recovered we'd do an IVF stims cycle. He said we would have to do EC because of all the fluid and OHSS - but would be aiming to put back a frosticle at day 5.

b) if he isn't happy or is unsure about the endometrium when he does the saline ultrasound(s), then next step would be another hysteroscopy with a copper coil

The copper coil irritates the lining and causes it to thicken - it's what they do after Ashermans surgery. The coil would stay in for 1 month, possibly 2.

Then would proceed to doing IVF stims for a FET as per a)

So a lot to think about

First thing is to get the wash done and we'll see where we are. Am really pleased consultant was so open to trying the wash, as I think Dr Gorgy is the only Dr who does it, and it's got so much potential I would have been gutted if we couldn't at least give it a go

The prospect of 1-2 months of a coil before we can cycle doesn't fill me with joy, but then neither does another miscarriage

And if it does have amazing results in thickening the lining then we may fhen

stealthbanana · 31/07/2016 17:00

Ps forgot to say that I triggered in a moving taxi in Spain - the things we have to do!

stealthbanana · 31/07/2016 16:59

Fabulous news lucie! Really great. Enjoy your couple of days "off" - hope you're doing something nice in Brno.

Good luck for EC tomorrow mpp!

lucieloos · 31/07/2016 16:34

Thanks Banana, it definitely takes the stress off a little even if we don't end up with anything more than usual. It's just nice not having to panic that we only have 2 in the running from day 1. Any news on your scan?

bananafish81 · 31/07/2016 16:27

Wow amazing news lucie - 100% fertilisation rate is ridiculous! And that's down to egg quality for the most part - and you obvs have spectacular eggs. You've made beautiful blasts before so hoping for a lovely day 5 transfer and something for the freezer too. Hope you can have a nice chilled time till then

Itsme247 · 31/07/2016 15:39

That's amazing Lucie!!! So pleased for you xx

loopylou1984 · 31/07/2016 15:38

Yes, that was meant to say Mother Lucie... Not sure what happened there! That's good that she's staying :).

Yes, well done DH! That's so brilliant! Xx

Brenna24 · 31/07/2016 13:32

That is brilliant Lucie. Best of luck.

lucieloos · 31/07/2016 13:25

Thanks Sammy, fertilisation is one thing we have going for us! I've worked out altogether we have had 20 mature eggs now and all 20 have fertilised! At least I can rely on DH Grin

Do you mean my mum? Yes she is going to stay with me. She is retired so doesn't have anything to rush back for xx

loopylou1984 · 31/07/2016 12:58

Luce that's amazing!!! You have such great fertilisation rates. Congratulations Smile

Will me Lucie be able to stay with you? Xx

lucieloos · 31/07/2016 12:43

So fertilisation results are in and 100% fertilised!!! We have 6 beautiful little embryos growing away now and I can breathe a sigh of relief and have some time off until day 3 results on Tuesday. They have told me I will be having a day 5 transfer on Thursday which I hadn't really expected so will have to stay here a bit longer. Feeling happy though.

Good luck today banana xx

lucieloos · 31/07/2016 09:09

Brenna, pleased everything has come through for you and you can get the bloods and sa sorted ASAP.

MPP, haha I also triggered in a toilet in a cafe in Brno! The things we have to do eh! Hope you have a good flight and taxi ride today and can get a good nights sleep before your EC tomorrow. I'm really excited for you to go and see the clinic etc.

Banana, good luck with your appt today, really hope your lining has grown.

I've got to ring up for my fertilisation results in a few hours eeekk!

OP posts:
MPP81 · 31/07/2016 00:19

Wow Lucie, thats awesome! Fantastic news! Keep us posted on fertilisation. Everything crossed for you, as always!

Brenna, sounds like you have alot on for the next month. I'm sure they've seen worse at smear tests!

Banana, thinking of you for tomorrow, and hoping you get some good news. You deserve some xx

AFM, triggered this evening in a service station off the M5. Classy! We'd hoped to get home in time to do it in comfort but it just didnt happen. It was nice and easy though, but I'm looking forward to an injection-free day tomorrow. I'm drinking and peeing loads, and DH laughed himself stupid earlier over a mental image of me drinking then leaking like a watering can from my injection sites. Banana, I am uncomfortable on and off. I'll get half hour where I just don't feel 'right' and then a couple of hours where I'm fine, so thats good I suppose. Apologies for tmi but I'm more windy than usual, and that seems to make any discomfort worse Blush. Very excited and very very nervous for tomorrow and the coming week. What will be, will be I suppose.

Waves to everyone else! Hope you're all good!
