star exactly, it's likely just bad luck. Your lucky embie is not far away! And kitchen sink is definitely a good idea, just for peace of mind if nothing else.

(When I think that I could have - had I been really unlucky - had TEN failed transfers in a row just because of abnormalities I shudder.)

Exactly Lucie, thinking like that helps. Out of our 4 left from this batch hopefully 2 of them are good and we are planning to transfer 2 so fingers crossed at least 1 sticks. I think I am going to book an endometrial scratch too and then intralipids and acupuncture again - kitchen sink approach!

Feeling a bit better after a nice relaxing weekend with DH. We did a bit of shopping, a film and lots of nice food. I think one of the hardest parts of this is not knowing why it didn't work. I guess having just turned 35 the stats are 50/50 for me too so the chances are we were just unlucky.

Sammy, glad you have a back-up acupuncturist. Sorry to suggest skipping it, having spent a grand on acupuncture myself it would be silly to miss a key session - wasn't thinking.

Welcome lemon and glad your appointment went well. I always come away with questions I wish I'd asked, but it'll be fine in the end. Plus the ladies on this thread are v knowledgeable and can fill in some gaps if you need.

Amazing banana! And yes lucie I was 50% too, so it seems that sometimes statistics do play out despite all of us on this thread always feeling like we're on the wrong side of them. I think we sometimes forget that just because we all have fertility issue, that doesn't mean we have ALL the fertility issues - there's nothing to suggest that any of us would have anything less than average rates of normal eggs for our age, and sure enough that's what's happened.

I had a scan this morning and everything was in order, saw a baby shaped wriggler and heard a strong heartbeat. So pleased and relieved. I had to run straight off to fly to the U.S. for work and spent most of the extremely long flight staring at the scan pic. Starting to dare to believe it's real. So there is hope for us all!!

Thanks Rebecca - I predictably failed to ask any useful questions, I must write them down next time. He sent us off for more tests as the original tests were so long ago (this process is never ending!) but then he will refer us for IVF and we just need to choose a clinic nearby. He did spring a surprise dildo cam on me which I had not mentally prepared for! The indignity!!

Hi, I am not prepared to skip it after spending all this money in the run up. Luckily my lady is very helpful and has already contacted and text me the details of someone else who can help.

Sammy, sorry about your acupuncture lady. It's never simple is it. Would you be prepared to skip it this cycle and see what happens? Or perhaps she could recommend someone else for you?

As for me, I had my day 10 scan this morning and all is good. Two follicles 15mm and 19mm. Lining 8.9, triple-lined - you ladies have talked about lining before and if I recall over 8mm is good. The Dr said I can trigger whenever suits my schedule so I think I'll do it tonight or tomorrow morning. I usually ov around day 14, so trigger now would make it day 12 - I'm presuming I want to make sure I don't ovulate naturally as that would throw out the timing?
I also asked about timing intercourse given the low count. In short, she said that the sperm results were not bad at all and we shouldn't worry and to time things so that there's sperm ready and waiting when the egg is released. So I think we're settled on twice between trigger and ovulation, roughly 24 hours apart. Feeling really positive right now, I'm going to come crashing down pretty hard in 2 and a half weeks! Must remember that the success rate for this is 30% over 3 months.

But just got THE CALL from the embryology lab. Cannot believe results came back so quickly. The biopsies only went off to the genetics lab on Wed!

Out of 12 tested, 6 came back as euploid!!

DH and I both wept and wept for joy

Now just really really really really hope one of those is a fighter and will go the distance for 9 months

Hi all, please could I join you? I am 33, ttc no.1 for 3 years in August when we will be eligible for IVF where we live. Have our appointment with the fertility consultant tomorrow to discuss starting IVF (I think - we booked the appointment 8 months ago when we last saw him) - we have had most of the tests and so far are in the unexplained category. I would really appreciate any suggestions for useful questions to ask tomorrow from any of you who have been through IVF. He is usually very rushed and doesn't give us much information so we are out again before I register what he has said and think of things I wanted to ask! Many thanks in advance! Xx

Sorry to see all the sadness on this thread recently it's a shit journey and really fucks us around doesn't it. and lots of all round. It's nice that we all get to talk about it so frankly on here and know others totally understand. All my RL friends / family who know are sympathetic but have no idea.

Welcome Sheila and giraffe. I went to the doctors before one year (I was 29 at the time) and was quite surprisingly sent for tests etc quickly although it wasn't until a few months ago that I went to the clinic so it does take a little while so I agree with star and sammy to go now.

AFM had lots of ewcm today and typically DH is away!!! Last time we dtd was Wednesday... He's back late tonight but his dad is also staying over.. Hinted I wanted to when he got back but not sure if he will want to!!

Hi Sheila, welcome to the thread. I can understand your partner being worried, but I would strongly recommend going to the GP now. 11 months is more than enough to get the ball rolling. I started trying when I was 34 so I'm older than you but went to the GP after 8 months. They did some tests and a sperm analysis for my partner and then referred us at 10 months. It can take a while, but you never know there might be something simple causing it to take a bit longer and it would be better to know that sooner rather than later. Good luck and hope you get a bfp very soon!

Hi Rebecca, how was the dinner? Hope it was ok. Like sammy, I'm a bailer too - I couldn't do a dinner like that at the moment. I find it impossible to show any interest in pregnancies without bursting into tears, so I just stay at home these days! That said we had some friends round last weekend including two pregnant friends one of whom brought her toddler. However, there were so many other people I could just duck out of any conversations that turned to pregnancy yoga and other nonsense and hang out with the drinkers.

I'm new to this thread but have had five years plus of ttc naturally, IVF and FET so hope I can join, I'm ttc naturally atm.

Good luck to everyone, reading through the thread I can really relate to a lot of the experiences on here! I am very fortunate in that one of my IVF attempts worked and one of my five FET attempts worked so I have 2 dc, so if I don't ever manage to conceive then I know I've been lucky already. My IVF and FET were all done in London.

Oh i didnt know that, thanks for the tip sammylou xx I have my suspicions, i had a preg that ended in mc several years ago and the ultrasound said they picked up a fibroid but they didn't tell me where, how big or if there was more than one. My DH is very plucky and doesnt think we should go to the doctor so soon, but you know when something feels a bit off xx
