Sorry to hear this Lucie, I know you know your body, but I'd give it a few more days before losing hope if you can x

lucieloos · 11/08/2016 07:31

I think yours would have shown Sammy. It was a pretty good line from what I remember and your beta the next day was really high. Frer will pick up a hcg of 6. Yes just trying to motivate myself to get ready for work now. Really wish I could have the next couple of days off. It's going to be such a long day.

So 12dpo effectively? There's no way my bfp would have shown at 12dpo, it was faint at 14dpo. You know your body, but I wouldn't completely give up hope yet. Are you working today? Xx

lucieloos · 11/08/2016 06:58

Thanks Sammy I'm 7dpt x

Oh Lucie Sad, sorry lovely. How many dpt are you? Xx

lucieloos · 11/08/2016 04:54

Hey there sorry for not reading back at the moment. Couldn't sleep so took a test this morning and it's bfn. This is the same day as I got my bfp last time so I don't think it's too early. Feel really deflated and disappointed as I really had a good feeling about this one. I'm dreading telling dh and my family Sad Can't believe we have to start all over again now. Due to start NHS when af arrives.

Glad to hear you're ok Sammy! I bet that, pre-ttc, you never would have imagined being grateful for nausea!

Maple, hopefully you wont need to ask them to scan next time because hopefully there wont be a next time! Grin

Oooh, Mrsren I am also considering acupuncture next time if I can talk DH into giving it a try It's always sounded a bit scary to me before, but there are a few people on here who speak highly of it so it might be worth a go! I'm also not good with needle type situations, though this months IVF has gone a long way to curing that.

Welcome Street, though sorry you find yourself here. I've never heard of the y shape uterus before, but I just had a quick google and I can see why it makes things a bit scary, as you put it. I did find quite a few success stories, so hopefully you have a nice, supportive doctor who will help you out. I always found my appointments quite worrying - I worry about literally everything - but I also found that I felt better in the months where we were actually DOING something to help, be that tests or trying something new etc. This thread has been a lifesaver for me. Lots of lovely, knowledgeable people who are always willing to help. Its so hard to talk about some of this stuff and its brilliant to have a place where you can talk about everything with people in the same boat. My DH was similar to yours still is sometimes in that he felt incredibly guilty each month when nothing happened. That increased for a while after our mf diagnosis and we had many long talks about how its no ones 'fault' and its not 'his' problem, its 'our' problem. We talk about it all quite a bit, but like the others, I try to limit the crazy to here! As for the stress, tests and disappointments, we try to laugh about it where we can - the crazy, mad dash to the hospital with a pot of swimmers under the armpit, DH holding my legs up in the air when there was nothing to lean on once, and most recently, his assertion that he was travelling to Czech for the most expensive wank of his life. Sometimes you just have to take the smiles where you can, I suppose! Overall, you're in good company here, so please feel free to talk, rant, ask questions, and divulge things about cervical mucus and wind that you wouldn't share anywhere else! Wink

MrsRen · 10/08/2016 19:37

Thanks both, think I will get in touch with the lady that specialises at the clinic. Like you say I just want to be doing something that might help and can't hurt!

I'm not very good with needle type situations but I think in this case it's big girl pants time! X

maplebaby · 10/08/2016 19:29

I'm the same I'm not sure if it's helping but feel like I'm doing something. I agree it doesn't hurt but you get a twang when they hit an acupoint! I didn't find the first session relaxing at all but have the others, especially when she has used the heat lamp!
I only go fort nightly because I can't afford to go weekly but wish I could! That said I had a session on Monday and going again next week but only because I've just had IUI.

loopylou1984 · 10/08/2016 19:04

Mrsren - I'm a big advocate for Accupuncture now after having it for this cycle, but who knows I suppose?
For me I felt like I was doing something proactive, and that helped me cope with the helplessness of IVF.
I think without a doubt it helped my lining be thicker (that or the liquid iron).

It's not scary, I won't lie though, occasionally a needle hit a nerve and it hurt, but my lady just moved it slightly and it would be fine. I had it weekly, although she said I could cut down to fortnightly after the first 4 if I wanted. X

MrsRen · 10/08/2016 18:56

Welcome Street, although sorry you find yourself here.

Me and DH don't do too bad on the talking about things, and are trying to keep positive. We try to laugh or think ah well we can have that holiday etc (even though we would both rather have a baby!)

I think the worst thing for us is other people asking questions (when are you two having kids, when you make me a grandma, what's taking you so long etc) which I just find really annoying and no one else's business. Even before we had issues I would never have asked anyone such things. Sorry went off on a tangent then!

I have a question for you lovely ladies as well, acupuncture. If this month ends in a BFN then I'm thinking of trying it, I know some of you have it and wondered how often, if you think it helps and is it scary?!

X

maplebaby · 10/08/2016 18:34

Thanks MPP - I think they didn't scan me this time as they were in a rush to inseminate - if it doesn't work I will definitely push for them to check though / prescribe oestrogen!

Street welcome and I'm sorry you find yourself here. Like sammy DH isn't a big talker - he will let me moan for a bit but is more practical about it than I am. So this thread has been a lifesaver for me! It's a pain trying to get him to even take the vits so although he's frustrated it hasn't happened yet (and I think my bitterness is rubbing off on him!) he's relaxed about it at the same time if that makes sense.

Glad you have such a good GP! I was lucky too that mine did tests and referred me so early.

Street80 · 10/08/2016 18:06

Thank you sammylou! I will try to keep the spirit up until the results! With DH I had to have few talks with him about it... Every cycle for him was like a guilt trip as nothing was happening and I had to tell him that no, it wasn't his fault, that we still don't have any results, and even if we do, it still wouldn't be the fault of anyone. But I'll keep your advice in mind and definitely will keep my crazy thoughts in here!

oh and btw I'm very happy for you!!! Grin

loopylou1984 · 10/08/2016 17:53

Thank you all! MPP - I'm ok, the all day nausea is tough but very welcome iyswim.

Hi street, welcome to this lovely supportive thread :). Infertility is tough on relationships, you're not aline there. The biggest problem I found was that I wanted to talk about things but DH really didn't. He compromised and talked to me when I needed it, and i tried to limit the crazy to this forum!
Good to hear you have a proactive GP, that's a big help! Try not to worry about the tests, and any questions you may have I'm sure one of us here will have the answer!

Street80 · 10/08/2016 17:15

Hi everyone! I read quite a lot of the thread and it's with shaky hands that I'm gathering the courage to write in here too... I'm amazed by your strength and can only hope to level it one day. I'm 36, DH 38, and we are now trying for a bit more than a year. I have a subsetate uterus (y-shape uterus or heart shape if you are feeling romantic...sigh) which make everything a bit scary. We had our appointment with our GP few weeks back and done the tests. The GP has been absolutely fantastic, and very efficient. I know I'm ovulating but we don't know yet the results of all exams. Our appointment at the fertility clinic is at the end of the month and I'm already anxious about ...well... everything if I'm being honest. It's really not easy to speak openly about it and I really would like to thank everyone here for their presence.
I also have a question... How do you handle all the stress, the tests, the appointments, the disappointments with your DH? We are I think a strong couple, but sometimes, it gets hard to express feelings and exasperation? Many thanks again!

MPP81 · 10/08/2016 17:07

Afternoon all!!

Sammy, howw are you doing today? I bet you're still flying high after yesterday!! Grin

Ahh, Maple, I can see why you would have mixed feelings about the insemination. Can you request that they scan you next time, to set your mind at rest? Everything crossed for you!

Chops, I was pretty much waving a flag for you when you got your bfp Wink

Brenna, any news on ovulation yet? I am doing ok, thank you. Getting nervous now though Hmm

Lucie, I phoned the embryo line twice but didnt get through so I emailed my co-ordinator instead, and she said I would get the report in ten days but that we have three embryos in cryobank. I know the one was a HB but guess I will have to wait to find out about the other two. I'm pretty pleased with that result :-) How are you doing/feeling? I've been thinking of you.

LemonDrizzler · 09/08/2016 18:47

Congratulations sammy that is such amazing news!!!

Brenna24 · 09/08/2016 17:25

That makes me so happy to hear. Grin I hope it all goes well. Flowers and that you get just enough symptoms to reassure you but no such bad ones you feel like hell.

loopylou1984 · 09/08/2016 17:17

Thank you everyone, DH and I can't believe it!

I've had almost all day nausea chops since last Sunday. Some days are worse than others. 9 months, wow! Xx

spinningirl10 · 09/08/2016 15:49

Just popping my head inSmileSammy! Oh my goodness!!!!! I'm so thrilled for you, after all this time and now twins! Absolutely fantastic news, just amazing xx

Lucie and Mmp, I've got everything crossed for both of you xx

Good luck to everyone else here

lucieloos · 09/08/2016 15:30

MPP, how did you get on with the embryo hotline?

OP posts:
star1980 · 09/08/2016 14:29

Oh my goodness sammy, congratulations!! Identical twins, how amazing!

Brenna24 · 09/08/2016 13:25

Twins Sammy, that is amazing. Grin Best of luck for the next few weeks. Seeing a heartbeat is a really good sign.

MPP I am temping and using IC OPKs. Both tend to be quite accurate for me. It will turn up eventually no doubt. I am glad to hear exercise can make a difference. I do a fair amount anyway, but I am doing a shit ton right now and I am absolutely exhausted as a result, so it would not be surprising to be a bit late ovulating. How are you feeling now?

Itsme247 · 09/08/2016 13:05

Ahhhhh twins!!!! Yay congratulations Sammy, oh my goodness you were so close to triplets...

Well done I'm so pleased for you :) xx

chopsface · 09/08/2016 12:56

Omg Sammy twins!!! Congratulations! Are you getting any sickness by the way? The meds you were on for egg stimulation made you ill didn't they and they were thinking you'd get severe morning sickness? I didn't get sickness until 12 weeks but has nausea from 6w. And yes mini chops is 9 months this month! Shocking!

Hi mpp good luck on your journey! I didn't know I had a following ;-) lol
