Well it was me that asked for the higher dose really rather than something they offered me. I just thought that it would be a good idea if my folate levels were going to be depleted and they were happy to give it. I asked for a 3 month supply but they didn't really say how long to take it for just because it wasn't really their idea. Yes from what I can see methyl folate is the way to go for mthfr as your body can't process the synthetic version? I can't find too much info on higher than normal folate levels I hope it's not a bad thing and something else wrong with me?!

Crossing my fingers that things continue to go well for you Lucie with this cycle. Yes, I guess that means you can drop back to normal dose, how long was it you were supposed to take the higher dose for? I was a bit confused re the methyl folate vs folic acid and still am tbh. My Zita West supplement contains methyl folate rather than folic acid. I remember asking Dr. G whether I should take folate or folic acid and he said either was fine. I did actually get some methyl folate off Amazon though and have been taking that together with the Zita West supplement recently.

Thanks trixie just had my final blood results this morning. My vitamin b12 is normal but the rbc folate is higher than the reference range. From what I can see this isn't a bad thing as the main reason the test is run is to check for deficiencies which I obviously don't have so any baby should have a plentiful supply. I'm wondering if it is because I have been supplementing with the 5mg folic acid since the ectopic and maybe now I should drop back to normal dose. If everything goes ok over the next few days then yes we are going to go for fresh transfer based on these results. Glad yours were all ok. I have been looking up mthfr since researching folate and have been wondering whether to get the test done. Should you be taking methyl folate though if you are positive for that or is that what the 5mg one is?

Sounds like you have a really good plan in place Lucie. Did you decide if you were going to have a transfer this time? And did you hear back re your bloods? Just phoned my surgery and apparently mine are all within normal range but she wouldn't give me the ranges and my levels over the phone. Need to go back for a repeat prescription for 5mg folic acid so will pick them up then. If my levels are fine when taking double the dose I guess I am ok to keep on with that but will take the 5mg when actually having treatment.

Hope your scans are ok tomorrow MPP and Lucie.

By week days I mean without the weekend inbetween x

Oh yes as Sammy said it depends what type of test you are doing as if they are cheapies then will definitely take longer for them to get as dark. I was 5+ weeks for those too as they are rubbish. It was the frer that was dark around 17-18 dpo. I would try and get the bloods done on weekdays so that they can be done 48 hours apart otherwise they will be 72 hours apart and you will have to use one of the online calculator things to work out true doubling time.

OK I've only got one more day to wait for OTD so ill call tomorrow, wfh Friday and Monday so hopefully can get them done then.

I wish the darkness of lines was something I didn't stress about!

loopylou1984 · 26/07/2016 07:55

Itsme on my ICS o would say my test line is just about the same as the control today! And I'm 5+4.

lucieloos · 26/07/2016 07:51

Itsme, I think it will probably vary for everyone. I looked back at mine and they were as dark from about the equivalent of 17-18dpo but it didn't work out for me anyway. It could be that yours start to change a bit more over the next few days. If you feel like you want to have the blood tests then just ring up and tell your clinic you got a BFP. I'm sure you must be really close to OTD now anyway.

Exciting that you will be at reprofit at the same time! Hope all goes well for you both

I did another test this morning, had the worlds worst cramps last night but thankfully no bleeding.

I'm 12dp5dt - when do the lines get as dark as the control? I think they are getting a little darker each time but it's still like half as strong as the control...

I could really do with having the blood tests now!

lucieloos · 26/07/2016 07:36

Ah ok I would have thought the gp could have prescribed you clomid though if that's all they were going to offer. I would still go along anyway you have nothing to lose and may as well see what they have to say. Maybe they don't realise you have a dc and will offer you ivf?! Haha yes we definitely need to work out a secret wink or something!

OP posts:
MPP81 · 25/07/2016 23:46

Yes, the NHS one at the Heath. We won't be entitled because I already have one DC (14). I've been told we may be offered clomid or something, but with DH's swimmers, that might not be much help. The lady on the phone was lovely though. I'll keep an eye out for you wednesday too. Or maybe we should work out a secret wink/hand signal/carry a newspaper with the page turned to the sports section Wink Grin

lucieloos · 25/07/2016 23:00

Haha brilliant yep you will be in after me! I will keep an eye out for you. I've never sent pictures to Reprofit. Maybe that's just a standard email thing they send out. I just ask for the follicles sizes and lining thickness and then email them over to Reprofit that's all you need really. What clinic are you referring to that has been in touch? Do you mean the NHS one? Why won't you be entitled to IVF with them? I would still go along and see what they have to say. If it is NHS at the Heath I have found them really good and I could pretty much choose when I wanted to start.

OP posts:
MPP81 · 25/07/2016 22:33

haha, 8.30! May well bump into you Wednesday then! My latest email from reprofit says to send the results of my ultrasound via email including all details including pictures and medical report. Do I just ask CRGW for all that? Will they know what to give me?
In other news, I phoned the clinic we were referred to by our doctor today to change my address, and the lady on the phone informed me that we are in the next batch to be called and she'll be in touch next week! As I've mentioned, we know we won't be entitled to IVF (and hoping this cycle works out, fx) but is it still worth keeping that appointment when it comes? I suppose it can't hurt, and I'm rather impressed that it didnt take the 18 months they first told us it would, but if its a bit pointless I dont want to take up an appointment that someone else could have.

Hope everyone is doing ok!

lucieloos · 25/07/2016 20:37

Ohhh you're Wednesday and Friday MPP! I'm at 810 first one how about you?

MPP81 · 25/07/2016 19:50

Brilliant newss, Lucie! So pleased for you! What time are you there Wednesday? Will we be bumping into each other in the waiting room?? :-)

stealthbanana · 25/07/2016 11:47

Fantastic news lucie. Hope those follies stay juicy!

Itsme247 · 25/07/2016 11:45

Really good news! Well done Lucie!

lucieloos · 25/07/2016 11:13

Thanks both! Next scan is Wednesday morning so fingers crossed for that one. Felt so nice coming out of a scan with relatively good news rather than in tears lol.

OP posts:
Brenna24 · 25/07/2016 11:11

Fantastic news Lucie. Everything crossed for you.

loopylou1984 · 25/07/2016 10:57

Wow Lucie!! Amazing! Congratulations :). When is your next scan? X

lucieloos · 25/07/2016 10:27

Thank you what a relief I really didn't expect to see anything there and was hoping for 2-3 good follies at best but I have 1x16mm, 5x13mm, 1x11mm, 1x10mm and 1x8mm. So fairly even apart from the 8mm which is too small. This would have been a good result for me on full stimms. Still a long way to go and I've had half of them disappear on second scans before so not getting overly excited but another step done. I still don't expect to collect more than my usual 2-3 eggs but if I could get those for the price of a mini it would be amazing. It worries me a bit about the NHS as they want me on 450iu next time. If this round went well I would be tempted to reduce without telling them and save half for another mini! Anyway next scan Wednesday morning and fly on Thursday.

JustTrixie · 25/07/2016 10:00

Just popped on to see if you've had your scan Lucie, amazing news Smile

Good luck with your scans MPP!

lucieloos · 25/07/2016 09:00

OMG The mini works! She said quite often they see people who do better on lower stimms as you aren't pushing the ovaries so hard. I got 9 follicles and sizes quite even. I did estrogen priming too so that might have helped.
