Ah ok yes it's a strange one with the orgalutran as with the exception of the NHS I've always been told not to take it on trigger day. When I did take it on trigger day with the NHS they just told me to do it half an hour before. I don't think the timing of it matters too much so long as it's around the same time every day.

Fab, its that part I'm worrying about the most at the moment! And thanks for the heads up on the nightie/long shirt. I wouold have just put my pjs in otherwise! Just had another email in response to my questions, and its exactly as you said, with the exception of the orgalutran, which it says to take on trigger day too, so now I'm stressing over whether they should be taken at the same time or not. Do you think I would be better starting the orgalutran tomorrow morning (so I can keep them all at the same time over the three days and not take it at the same time as the ovitrelle) and continue with gonal f in the night? Haha, I bet you'll be glad when my first cycle is over and I won't be bugging you with questions so much!! I really, really do appreciate it all.

lucieloos · 27/07/2016 16:39

Ohh that's good about the taxi nice to be there the night before. You need to arrive 30 mins before your time just to go through the paper work etc don't forget to take both your passports with you. They give you a sedative type drug via a drip for EC so you will be out cold but it's easy to bring you around. It only takes about 20 mins and you wake up straight away afterwards and don't feel groggy or anything. It's amazing stuff haha my mum was laughing at my last time as I had literally just come around and was telling her how great the drugs were and how they were the best part. You have nothing to worry about. Also don't forget a long tshirt or nightie.

Very exciting MPP and Lucie!! Keep me posted!

Thanks for all the congrats guys, I still think I'm going to wake up and it'll all be over :(

My scan is on the 16th August it's aaaages away!

MPP81 · 27/07/2016 16:32

Fab, thanks for that Lucie! Yes, I was a bit confused that they gave us a time before the second scan, but we've sorted our travel now. We're getting a (very expensive) taxi to Brno from Prague so we will be there the night before. Do we need to be there at 8.30am, or should we arrive much earlier than that? Expecting to be very tired on Monday! Do they actually knock you out at Reprofit for EC? Eeeeek! Can't believe this is really, really happening!!

lucieloos · 27/07/2016 16:00

Eeekk basically MPP you take you Gonal as usual every night until Saturday (you don't take it at all Saturday so your last dose of Gonal is on Friday) From tomorrow you add in the orgalutran as well at the same time as Gonal and you do that until Friday as well. On Saturday at 2130 Czech time so 2030 uk time the you do your Ovitrelle injection and that's all you do on the Saturday. Sunday is an injection free day and then egg collection is 830am on Monday although they don't normally tell you that until after your second scan so go to that as normal and they can let you know if there are any changes to the plan. Are you going to be able to get to Brno for that time on Monday?

Hi Star! I'm sorry to hear the clomid hasnt worked, but I've got everything crossed for this cycle for you. If not, at least you know what your next step is, and it'll fly by. I know that when I seriously started looking at Reprofit, it was around the same time as Boris was, and it felt like AGES til we could actually start and now I can't believe how fast the time has gone. I hope you are feeling ok.

Heard back from the clinic at five to three. Found it a little bit confusing! It says, and I quote, 'continue with gonal f 150 units a day. Add orgalutran 1 a day from tomorrow. You will apply pregnyl on 21.30 (CET). OPU is planned on Monday 1st August at 8.30.' I've pinged an email back because I'm not sure at what point I stop taking gonal (I have three doses left), and at what point I stop taking orgalutran. I assume pregnyl (I have ovitrelle, but its the same thing, right?) is to be taken on Saturday. Had butterflies in my tummy when I saw the email!

JustTrixie · 27/07/2016 15:44

Ps, whether you end up doing iui or timed intercourse good luck Star!!!

JustTrixie · 27/07/2016 15:43

AF is due in the next few days Star so just waiting for that now. I hope they let you convert to iui, definitely worth a shot and good to know you have IVF in the pipeline if you need it.

I am so so grumpy today. Always seem to sleep badly in the lead up to AF and the PMT doesn't help. Have been so short with colleagues/clients Blush doesn't really help that I'm pretty fed up with my job, feel like I'm treading water waiting for a BFP that may never come. Hoping I will feel more positive once AF is here.

star1980 · 27/07/2016 14:51

Lucie and mpp, amazing follicles!! Mpp, I can't believe you are off and I'm still pissing about with Clomid. Very excited for you, good luck with egg collection - do you know when that's likely to be yet?
Good luck for sat Lucie.

Trixie, when is your fet? Hae everything crossed for you this time around.

Banana, so sorry about your lining. Really hope you don't have to cancel this cycle. You are really due a bfp soon, you really are.

Not posted in a while so not sure if I've said congratulations to itsme! Congratulations!!!!

As for me, third and final Clomid cycle before ivf. Got my day 10 scan tmrw and going to ask if we can convert to iui. I know it's not that much better odds than timed intercourse but with the earlier motility issues, I wonder if the sperms aren't getting through the cervix and with iui and least they'll be placed right there. Worth a shot, I dunno.

My ivf appointment is 1 September but I'll be away for the start of the next cycle so it'll have to be October before we get going which will be 23 months ttc. Crikey.

MPP81 · 27/07/2016 13:51

Thank you. I'll pm you now :-)

lucieloos · 27/07/2016 13:48

Ok I will have to add you as my friend on fb and then I can request you on the group so if you want to drop me a PM with your details and how I can find you then I will do it ASAP x

MPP81 · 27/07/2016 13:38

oh yes, that would be fab please, if you wouldn't mind! No answer from them yet. If I haven't heard anything by 3pm, I'll phone the number.

lucieloos · 27/07/2016 13:15

Oh ok I haven't heard of her but they have a few new ones there lately. I always get hold of the doctors email and email directly and just copy my coordinator in for info. I'm sure they will be in touch soon though. There's a secret Facebook group for the clinic which I can add you on if you want to. Lots and lots of info on there about all sorts of things and lots of other ladies having treatment. Totally up to you though as I know some people are not into fb x

Thanks Lucie. I've just emailed again now. Its Dr Strakova, and my co-ordinator is Tina. I've only ever emailed Tina though. I assume she passes things on. Hopefully she'll answer fairly quickly :-)

lucieloos · 27/07/2016 12:44

Who is your doctor MPP? I've had a couple of different ones and they've never once wanted photos so that's interesting! Have you copied your coordinator in as well? If you emailed shortly after your scan this morning then I would probably email again. They close around 3pm uk time which is 4pm Czech time but there is a number you can call as well 24/7 so don't panic too much. Hopefully they will be in touch soon x

Sorry for AF Brenna.

Good luck MPP Grin I think we were quite close to EC so hopefully you'll be fine.

MPP81 · 27/07/2016 12:12

ah brilliant! Thanks for all the advice! Yes, I don't think we're there early enough to give a beforehand sample for this cycle but I will definitely ask if they can freeze some for next time. Banana, your 'poo in a supermarket' analogy is brilliant!

As for the dtd, apologies for the tmi but I'm actually quite horny! I'll see how it goes...

Lucie, reprofit emailed me back asking for photos. I responded saying I didnt have any but would ask for some at fridays scan, and they havent responded again. I know I should be a bit patient, but I also keep thinking about what you said about them responding to emails early in the day, so I dont know whether to nudge them in case theyve forgotten me or hang on a bit longer, as I don't know what meds I need to do tonight.

Brenna24 · 27/07/2016 12:00

I think the cramping is quite normal Itsme, it is just potentially a problem if accompanied by bright red blood (although even then can be fine too). From the pregnancy that got quite far compared to the ones which miscarried early there is a huge difference between the type and level of cramping associated with implantation and the placenta growing and moving compared to a threatened or actual miscarriage. They feel quite different to me, I can't really describe how, you would just know the difference. I have everything crossed for you.

That sucks Banana after everything you have been through.

Hi and welcome nowwhy. I have no advice as we are struggling with recurrent miscarriages rather than conception issues per se. There are loads of very knowledgable people on here though, who will help.

That is fantastic news Lucie and MPP. Grin best of luck ladies.

I did yoga at the gym on Monday night and GT30 interval training last night. plus lots more cycling this week. I hurt today. AF got me yesterday as well, so we are out for this month. Sad AT least I have time to get fit and thinner for next month.

lucieloos · 27/07/2016 11:47

We have always used frozen except for on 2 occasions we have never had any problems with it and have had 100% fertilisation. I think from your timings though MPP it probably won't be possible to freeze before this round but I would definitely try and leave some there in case of any future treatment. Just drop the doctor an email and say that's something you would like to arrange as well. We are using frozen again this time as my mum is coming with me instead of DH.

Itsme247 · 27/07/2016 11:41

On the sex thing, there was a scientific study which I read which explored whether you should have sex after collection and before transfer. Apparently it was proven to increase implantation rates and early cell development if your uterine environment was exposed to semen... I didn't have any soreness/bleeding or any antibiotics after egg collection so we dtd two days before transfer and without going into too much detail we were just very 'careful' .. Tbh I would be surprised if it even counted as penetration but I just wanted to make sure I had got some up there!

Sadly no sex since, I'm way too scared.

bananafish81 · 27/07/2016 11:29

We had to freeze our eggs unfertilised on the first cycle

DH wasn't called to do his bit until I was out of theatre and hooked up to blood pressure and oxygen monitors and coming round from anaesthetic

Me coming round from anaesthetic is much like me coming round from an epileptic seizure, so being told to leave his unwell wife to go and knock one out was less than ideal

It's a bit like being told to have a poo in the middle of the supermarket. You don't need a poo. You don't want a poo. And you certainly don't want one in the middle of the supermarket

But you're being told if you don't have a poo then thousands of pounds and hopes and dreams rest on it

Our frozen eggs thawed and fertilised perfectly. The eggs were crap quality but that's to do with my hormones being crap, not being frozen

I cannot recommend freezing a sample in advance enough

bananafish81 · 27/07/2016 11:24

We froze in advance of our second cycle for exactly that reason, as we had issues with a fresh sample on our first cycle

Having the frozen sample in the bank as an insurance policy took the pressure off and we had a great fresh sample on EC day on the second cycle

We ended up using the frozen swimmers on EC for cycle 3 as DH was really under the weather with a stomach bug so we decided just to go with the great frozen sample. They did straight IVF with it as the quality was great (didn't need to do ICSI), so wasn't any different to a fresh sample in the end

stealthbanana · 27/07/2016 10:58

Cross post with mpp - great it went well.

In terms of stage fright, I'd be tempted to freeze. My DH had to do this prior to our EC as he wasn't able to be there on the day of EC (was travelling for work) and it was absolutely fine. They freeze the sperm in straws (gross) and then just defrost as needed.

lucieloos · 27/07/2016 10:54

Ahh ok yes I did see you. Glad it all went well for you. Yes flying out tomorrow. I'm not sure about coming home yet as it all depends how many eggs we collect and when I think transfer might be. I haven't booked the return flight yet but could possible be Tuesday.

You can dtd up until about 48 hours before EC. You are brave though I couldn't face it at the moment as feel a little uncomfortable. Your DH will had plenty of time on the day to do his part. I think they have magazines and dvds to help them along too. I'm not sure what would happen if he really couldn't produce a sample. They could try and freeze your eggs but they don't normally like to do that unless they have been fertilised. I'm sure he will be fine. What it may be worth asking to do either at the same time or on transfer day is for him to produce another sample to freeze just incase your first attempt doesn't work and you need more treatment. They can normally get enough to freeze for about another 5 treatments so you would have plenty there and DH wouldn't always have to go with you if he couldn't get time off etc.
