Thought I would create a fresh thread as the original had been going since Feb. This is for anyone TTC #1, a bit of moral support as we all attempt to embark on the scary journey that is parenthood! Join us if you are a mix of terrified and excited, don't really know what you're doing yet and hadn't heard of CM before you started reading Mumsnet!!

Flashing smiley this morning, let's get this show on the road! Grin
My temp has taken a bit of a dip, that seems to always happen a few days before ov.

Ah right, that's good to know, thanks pyjamas
Yes same here, DH definitely does not need to know about EWCM and temps so I love these boards!

Pyjamas81 · 24/07/2016 13:37

Hi Eva - yes, I'm in a very good mood today!! Thank god for this board, so nice to be able to share these things without boring all my friends to tears! Early nights for us tonight and tomorrow Wink

The CB test will always give an empty circle first reading while it figures out your baseline - fingers crossed you get the flashing soon!

Looks like you're on track for your temps busy - just try to remember that the opks can suddenly turn positive at any point without build up!

Eva30 · 24/07/2016 13:25

pyjamas yay for static face!! Time to BD like rabbitsGrin
busynothings I always have a temp dip about 3 or 4 days before ov.
I started using my CB monitor today, got the '0' for low. Cd9 and I expect ov on cd15 so maybe it'll start flashing mid week?

BusyNothings · 24/07/2016 12:46

If it makes you feel any better these were them up until a few weeks ago!

Uh maybe it might turn up will know more this afternoon I spose. I'm really dizzy this morning though and patently that can be a sign of ovulation.

Pyjamas81 · 24/07/2016 12:01

Who knows indeed busy - my OPK line was faint yesterday and now all of a sudden so so strong so no gradual build up at all, maybe will be the same for you!

Your temp charts are so easy to read! I can't go by mine at all - massive fluctuations!

BusyNothings · 24/07/2016 11:53

Yay for you pj! Glad the little bigger is playing nicely now. Haha you never know all that dtd during the heatwave might have just tipped your over the edge.

I had a massive temp dip this morning which supposedly signifies ovulation but God bloody knows with that negative OPK yesterday. Oh well my next one is due this afternoon will see then. Dh is still away anyway. Don't know if any of you use ovia but I thought this month was going well my temps are practically perfect with where they should be so makes no sense that my temp is doing in theory what it should but the opks saying nope nada.

Just did a cheapie to confirm (pic below) and super super positive! Test line waaaay darker than control line. Turns out Clearblue digi knows exactly what it's doing Grin Better shave my legs today then hahaha

Just got a static face just got a static face! Ovia has now updated FW which means we dtd today and tomorrow or we miss our entire fertile window. Annoying as we were being so good at dtd last were thinking it was my FW - even in the heatwave! But so relieved I'm ovulating!!

BusyNothings · 23/07/2016 15:48

That it bloody has! And no worries I really enjoyed it and just need to pass these good things on!

Pyjamas81 · 23/07/2016 15:40

I know right - I honestly had no idea how all this stuff worked before we started TTC Blush It's been an education!

Thanks so much for the impatient woman book recommendation - reading it (secretly in my kindle) and it's really put my mind at rest re: TTC for #1 at 35 as I was starting to fret that no ovulation this month means early onset menopause

BusyNothings · 23/07/2016 15:33

Yeah it's bloody confusing. Guys have it so easy. They just point and shoot and trust their little swimmers. I can't even start to make a list of what women have to do.

Oh well I shall have to stay positive and hope the pink little line shows up again!

Pyjamas81 · 23/07/2016 15:31

Oh god it's so infuriating right?! You never know though, it might be better tomorrow as I guess all tests are negative until it's a true positive (which I haven't had on those tests yet). Have already told DH I'm never going on hormonal birth control ever again, might not have affected my fertility, but it sure has made things go out of whack!

BusyNothings · 23/07/2016 15:26

I've been doing it around 4 ish every day and not having a drink for 2 hours before so not sure why. The first pic is today and second is yesterday and the third the day before. Very confused because before that there was nothing.

Are you still using the cheap ones busy? No hint of a line? They can vary depending on the time of day you do them and how much water you've had. I did one when I got in quite late last night after a few at the pub and it was fainter than the one I did today!

BusyNothings · 23/07/2016 15:13

Ok just done today's OPK. And it's definitely negative... Wtf?

BusyNothings · 23/07/2016 11:23

pj lol good thinking! My dh doesn't drink tea or coffee. Never has. Hates them and as such has no clue how to make a brew. It's one think that makes me seriously question our marriage...

You never know you might still be in the running. They aren't absolutely perfect after all!

Pyjamas81 · 23/07/2016 10:59

I suspect I skipped ovulation this month, but you never know, it's not over until AF pays a visit!

My DH got in at 3am last night and is still passed out in spare room (a rule we have if we come home after midnight - I was in there last week ha ha) so he'll be useless all day as well! Took him a cup of tea - I've got a big night out next week so am accumulating brownie points Grin

BusyNothings · 23/07/2016 10:40

That's good at least the cheapie are showing something different! I'm on CD13 and according to ovia in my fw, the lines on the cheapies are still faint but definitely getting darker. But dh has been away all week and isn't back until late tomorrow. Week long stag so don't he's going to be any use then any ways lol

Pyjamas81 · 23/07/2016 07:07

Day 11 of flashing smiley fuckface! Did a cheapie last night busy - faint line. Have only got 4 digi test sticks left - which will actually be a relief! Going to carry on with the cheapies for rest of month until AF arrives. What CD are you on?

BusyNothings · 23/07/2016 00:35

Oh no pj have you done a cheapy stick today to see what the non-clever fucker thinks?

Pyjamas81 · 23/07/2016 00:29

I am so getting that book! After (now) 10 days of that b@st@rd flashing smiley face, I need to find some patience from somewhere!

user1469131534 · 22/07/2016 18:01

I'll have a look for that book, I could use all the help I can get 😉
Thanks!

BusyNothings · 22/07/2016 14:36

It's not for everyone but it helped me combining it all. I'm naturally an over organised ocd control freak lol so tracking my temp and opks using apps like ovia helped me to make sense of it all. Even in the chaos. still frustrating but it made me feel better that there was something I could do.

I was on contraception for five years without a single period and before that they were insane and completely irregular so I feel your pain.

Lol and yes I know what you mean about how did anyone else do it?! You need to read the impatient woman's guide to getting pregnant. It's got tips and stuff for getting pregnant but most of the beginning is talking about why we are impatient today and how to help you cope with that and manage your own feelings. It really helped me =]

user1469131534 · 22/07/2016 14:25

Hi BusyNothings, I haven't been measuring my basal temp, I assumed opks would be better than tracking temperature, maybe I'll give that ago as well. All this makes me wonder how on earth women get pregnant full stop, it seems such a small window if opportunity and even then it's not guaranteed!! So frustrating, this place is amazing though, I've learnt so much just reading what others are experiencing. Thank you Smile
