Thought I would create a fresh thread as the original had been going since Feb. This is for anyone TTC #1, a bit of moral support as we all attempt to embark on the scary journey that is parenthood! Join us if you are a mix of terrified and excited, don't really know what you're doing yet and hadn't heard of CM before you started reading Mumsnet!!

Hi jj it's really nice to hear from you! Glad to hear you are getting back on the horse (so to speak) Wink we are all here to help with temping or God knows what =]

cinnamon that's horrible news I'm really sorry for your loss Flowers I hope you are feeling a bit better soon

Well I jinxed myself my temps are now a roller coaster ride again! Also not sure about OPK today so will ask you ladies. I got up this morning and had fmu then had about an hour wandering around like a wounded buffalo with a massive migraine. For me there's only one thing I can do then which is go back to bed. From which I've just woken up. Can I do an OPK now after being asleep for like 5 hours or would it skew the results?

Eva30 · 27/07/2016 13:49

Welcome back jj it's nice to hear from you.
cinnamon I am so sorry to hear that FlowersFlowers

Pyjamas81 · 27/07/2016 13:47

Sorry to hear about your loss cinnamon - hope you're doing ok all things considered and taking care of yourself Flowers

Hi jj - hope things even out for you soon. Yep, I think it is me next to test - Ovia telling me to test on 7th August, but, it's also telling me AF is due on 2nd Aug, so will be very hard not to test then!! I think it's confused as I ovulated on CD20 this time...

Am in 2WW now - currently enjoying being able to relax in the knowledge that we've done what we can! This is my second cycle after coming off bc, but first cycle of actually trying, so am not holding out much hope - am trying to mentally prep for a long haul TTC!

CinnamonTwist · 27/07/2016 13:14

Hi jj good to see you back, how are you feeling?
Unfortunately I also miscarried at the end of last week, had a scan on Monday which confirmed everything has gone and my lining is back at 3mm. It was crap timing as my sister got married at the weekend and I was supposed to be MOH, I asked to be downgraded to Bridesmaid so I didn't have to do as much but it was still hard to enjoy the day. I feel so sad, tired and just really low now... Don't feel like trying again any time soon!

Hi girls, so we dtd last night for first time since mc so I think I'll be back in the game from now. It's cd cd12 today if I count from first day bleeding but to be honest I have no idea how it works after mc, when ill ovulate (or if i even will) and what this cycle will be like at all so just a waiting game until next real af I think. Started temping Monday so you pros can take a look once I have a few more weeks of data as I have no clue yet! How are you all doing? Who's next to test, is it you pj?

Pyjamas81 · 26/07/2016 23:11

Last dtd in the bag - so relieved we don't have to think about it for a while! TWW now beckons...

DH away for work for 2 nights tomorrow - so not only do I get a break, I get whole bed to myself Grin

Ha ha - the boozing is seriously one of the only things that will rumble me!

Lol at feeling like a sex pest busy - DH said I was breaking him, I said he wasn't the only broken one!

BusyNothings · 26/07/2016 22:09

Lol I love that we are all worried about being rumbled from refusing alcohol. Never mind any other possibilities lol.

You two are heroes. Atm I feel like a sex pest with my dh! He gets too freaked out when I tell him it's potentially fertile window so I have to try and be subtle about it!

Mmmm so all test dates close together

Also yes I don't understand how the hell people get pregnant by accident. I just want to scream at them how?!

I am CD16 of an unknown length first proper cycle. I had a bag of 100 cheapie OPKs I think if no luck by end of August and if I know my cycle length I might invest in the clear blue one. No point really until I know my cycle length.

Eva30 · 26/07/2016 21:49

busy how annoying (opks). What cd are you? Hope you've got a good supply of opks, persevere!Grin

Eva30 · 26/07/2016 21:47

My test date is 13th August. I'm on cycle 4, getting rather impatient now...
I know a few people who have conceived whilst 'not trying' or 'by accident' which I'm now quite dubious about!
Not to sound like a raging alcoholic but I'd be rumbled too, people would guess immediately. I think I'd try to have 'other plans' too pyjamas but not attending a friends 30th, maybe that would set alarm bells off too! I know all my friends would understand when it eventually is revealed why though - Just an awkward phase those first 3 months!!
pyjamas hats off to you for the amount of DTD! We DTD tonight and Sunday and I'll soon be joining you in the exhausted, just leave me to relax on the sofa phase.

BusyNothings · 26/07/2016 21:25

Slightly darker line but still within the realms of imaginary. I'm in a really grouchy mood today don't know what's up with me.

Your test date is two days before mine pj although mine is likely to change if an OPK doesn't darken up soon!

And that is scary I get its meant to be exciting but showing you when it will be born etc is just scary. Lol

Pyjamas81 · 26/07/2016 11:47

Hi busy- test day is 6th August according to Ovia eeek. Excited and petrified at the same time! It also gave me a date range for baby to be born if we conceived this cycle which TOTALLY freaked me out. My temps are still all over the place - really think they depend almost entirely on how hot/cool our room happens to be at the time which varies massively.

I'm just going to have to have a lot of "other plans" if I get a BFP and avoid social occasions entirely!

Hope you have more luck with your OPK later Smile

Eva - when are you testing and what cycle are you on?

BusyNothings · 26/07/2016 11:38

Eek fingers crossed for you pj when's your test date? I know what you mean about turning down a drink. I've had full on flu and not turned down a drink! So I'll definitely be rumbled!

eva eek that is not good a lot of excuses are most definitely needed. I was thinking maybe saying I was antibiotics but my family are nosey and will ask why! Day 2 of flashing smiley sounds good right on plan =]

My temp shot right up this morning but not sure if that's because had dh home and sleeping next to me or what. But then again if you look at my temp and what an example chart is it's literally perfect for what it should be. Will see what OPK says later but I'm not hopeful.

Pyjamas81 · 26/07/2016 07:19

Yep, managed to DTD again last night Eva Smile Am exhausted now! Going to try again tonight, but both DH and I are pretty much done - actually looking forward to 2WW so the pressure to DTD is off a bit! It's second cycle after coming of birth control, but first cycle of actually trying as we totally missed FW last month due to work stress and ovulating a lot earlier (the opposite problem to this cycle!)

Have no idea what am going to do re: telling people about not drinking if I get a BFP - the second I turn down a drink, I'll be rumbled!

Hope smiley face behaves!

Eva30 · 26/07/2016 06:26

I know busy,I'm already thinking of how to cover up not drinking if I get my BFP! It's my 30th birthday in Sept and the year all my friends will turn 30 so that's a lot of excuses needed! I hoped a while ago that I'd be expecting by my 30th birthday so have booked a big holiday to avoid drinking celebration. Luckily the holiday will cover my FW in Sept so if no joy in August then there's some positives to cling on to.
Cd11, day 2 of flashing smiley.
pyjamas did you manage to DTD again yesterday? Now for the dreaded TWW?! Is this your first cycle?

Pyjamas81 · 25/07/2016 20:52

Hi busy - for the dual hormone test you can't buy the sticks separately, it's always a whole new kit.

That sounds incredibly frustrating Sad Maybe like me, your body may still be adjusting after birth control and you may ovulate later. Ovia had my FW totally wrong this month which I only knew because I carried on testing! It's now all updated on Ovia since putting in peak OPK result.

BusyNothings · 25/07/2016 20:44

Okay so you can use it for more than one cycle you just by the stick bits. But can you buy them separately?

Ugh I'm so confused. Today was another low/imaginary line on the OPK. But will keep trying. At least dh is home so can dtd in the hopes that something might work I suppose. According to ovia my fw finishes on Wednesday and my test date is 2 weeks today but think I might just ignore that. Not sure when to test suppose just see what happens in two-three weeks. I kind of wish I knew what was going on though as its my brothers wedding on 20th August and would love a few glasses of champagne but don't want to risk anything! Ugh. Overthinking. Enough.

eva I'm keeping fingers crossed for you in August then! I hope the flashing smiley devil is nicer to you!

Eva30 · 25/07/2016 19:33

Thanks! You can reuse the holder. So i bought a 20stick pack (comes with holder) so I expect that to last maybe 3 months. I started testing yesterday and I expect my static by Friday. It tells you (based on your shortest previous cycle) when to start testing.
I know busy I'm on cycle 4 now and getting seriously impatient. I bet if I'd had a one night stand with a criminal/ alcoholic/ dead beat / loser I'd be preg by now but because I actually want it to happen it's not happening (sob).
I've really geared myself up for August being my month, I'll hibernate and cry all day if I get a BFN!

Pyjamas81 · 25/07/2016 13:13

Just did a cheapie (yes, am now a POAS at work freak) - line still quite dark but not quite as dark as control so technically a negative. Reckon I'm ovulating today!

I can re-use the reader on the dual hormone digi test I use busy - but I'll need to buy a whole new pack for next month if I don't get a BFP as I'm out of sticks and they're not sold separately.

First time TTC - thread 2
BusyNothings · 25/07/2016 11:33

Haha sounds like you ladies have been plotting! Congrats on the smiley face eva! I need to look into these bloody things are they reusable?

Definitely be getting busy pj you never know might be all that you need to get that bfp!

My temp is doing somersaults again ugh. Also got another negative OPK yesterday. I didn't know they could go suddenly positive I thought it was a build up thing.

Also yes thank god for these boards. If one more person tells me to relax it will happen naturally your making it difficult. I'm likely to rip their head off.

Pyjamas81 · 25/07/2016 10:52

Thanks for that Eva - DH is away from Weds to Fri, so tonight and tomorrow night it is! Will definitely need a break by then - my very good book is feeling neglected ha ha

Eva30 · 25/07/2016 10:34

Haha I'm totally with you on that! They say the egg lasts 24 hours maximum after ov and that after that there's only a slim chance you are still fertile. It's like a science to get the timing exactly right!

Pyjamas81 · 25/07/2016 10:06

Well now I'm getting pangs on the right side - who the hell knows what's going on! Have given up trying to read my body now ha ha

Pyjamas81 · 25/07/2016 09:51

Yep - kind of painful twinges on left side!

I'm a bit of a gadget nerd - am honestly bowled over that this equipment is so clever! I sent my mum a pic of the super positive test (I tell her everything) and she was astounded that it even existed ha ha. Then she told me to get off the phone as I had "work to do" hahaha

DTD tonight again - unheard of for us! Do you think we should go for it tomorrow as well? Not sure you how much we should be aiming to DTD after peak result and DH is away from Weds to Fri!

You better start getting busy Grin

Eva30 · 25/07/2016 09:45

I was so excited by the flashing one, love this new gadget!
It's a good news day all round - I get ov pain too. Is it on one side? Mine was on the right side last month, lasted about 2 hours so I lay on the sofa so still whilst it happened - still didn't bloody work!

Pyjamas81 · 25/07/2016 09:35

Wooooo Eva! Fingers crossed you get that static smiley soon!

I've got crampy pains - could be a sign of ov?!
