Thought I would create a fresh thread as the original had been going since Feb. This is for anyone TTC #1, a bit of moral support as we all attempt to embark on the scary journey that is parenthood! Join us if you are a mix of terrified and excited, don't really know what you're doing yet and hadn't heard of CM before you started reading Mumsnet!!

BusyNothings · 29/07/2016 14:09

Lol all those endorphins sticking around in your system?

Pyjamas81 · 29/07/2016 14:08

You never know busy - that positive OPK may come out of nowhere soon!

I've noticed I'm not in the usual fire breathing dragon mood I'm usually in just before AF. Clearly am either pregnant or relieved that the BDathon is over for this cycle...suspect it's the latter Grin

BusyNothings · 29/07/2016 14:02

Im really excited for you two I hope this month goes well! I've pretty much discounted myself a while waiting for things to get back on track. Not in a feel sorry for myself way more just being practical. =]

Pyjamas81 · 29/07/2016 10:29

Ha ha - I think we all know I'll be testing if AF is late, even though I'll have no idea whether it's really late or not!

BusyNothings · 29/07/2016 10:26

I would say 6th August sounds good but try not to get to wound up when you do them before then lol

Pyjamas81 · 29/07/2016 10:20

Yeah that's what I thought busy so it's hard to know when to test! Ovia is telling me to test on 6th August, which would be 12dpo if AF hasn't arrived by then. GAH.

BusyNothings · 29/07/2016 10:09

Doesn't it take like 6 days for implantation? You got any ideas when your going to test pj?

Pyjamas81 · 29/07/2016 09:59

Wow - the syringe would be a definite mood killer for us lol. "Hang on for 15mins DH, just got to mainline some some baby making goo up my fanjo." Ha!!

I am 4dpo (I think) today but I ovulated on roughly CD20 which is quite late. My first cycle was 32 days, my last one was 22, and am now on CD24 so who the hell knows! Ovia says AF due on Tues which would make it a 27 day cycle - not convinced I trust that prediction though.

Ha ha busy - me and DH had the same conversation, he was just as clueless as I was a few months ago!

BusyNothings · 29/07/2016 09:55

Wow eva that is commitment! ill keep my fingers double crossed for you now lol.

Normally I can't talk to him about that stuff but he was just confused and a bit curious last night lol. It was less this is what is happening to me and more how it works in general lol. Like one of those how it's made programmes. We've seen the great sperm race together but I don't think he clicked really until last night. It was quite amusing when he realised how difficult it all was, think he realised that's why I've been researching it all then. He didn't realise there was so much to it and that why. The 25% stat blew his mind a bit.

Eva30 · 29/07/2016 09:36

Hahaha that's so amusing busy - I can't face having these conversations with DH because I think he'd be freaked out!! I just have to tell him when is 'peak time' Wink
TMI alert : you have to fill the syringe with preseed and then put the syringe 'up there' and press syringe to squeeze preseed out and leave for 15 mins before intercourse so that it can spread itself around - how gross is that!!!! If I get a BFN this month I will be livid, the things I'm doing hahaha

BusyNothings · 29/07/2016 09:23

Ah the cursed smiley face. I'm really not looking forward to meeting him! A syringe? Shock wha wha what for?

Eek pj fingers crossed!

So was supposed to dtd last night but dh are too much and had heart burn. Oh it's such a turn on being married to such a stud lol. Anyway instead I ended up having quite an amusing conversation explaining about the cervix etc. He didn't understand why the cramp I had was localised and so low down. He though the diagrams in school were accurate with tubes everywhere and really high in your stomach. Also blew his mind when I explained what the cervix actually looked like. He now thinks it's false advertising and in reality it's much harder for his swimmers which isn't fair lol. Also freaked him out that the cervix looked like that and not another big tube lol.

Eva30 · 29/07/2016 09:02

I'm cd14 and I have ov cd15 for the past 2 cycles so really thought it would be same again - hopefully I'll get static smiley tomorrow and lots of DTD over the weekend!!
Really pyjamas, how many dpo are you now? When are you testing?

Pyjamas81 · 29/07/2016 07:34

Ah yes - welcome to the annoying flashing smiley face spiral! Keep at it though, it was completely accurate in the end, even though I wanted to dropkick the smiley face each morning! If your cycles aren't totally regular, it could be that you started testing earlier - I think that's what happened to me as this cycle is already longer than last month's cycle.

Lol at the syringe - think I'd laugh too much to DTD!

Realised today that AF is due any day now - gah!

Eva30 · 29/07/2016 06:59

Fifth day of flashing smiley and the face is starting to irritate me too now pyjamas!
The oddest thing happened last night. I used preseed for the first time - I had no idea there were syringes into vagina involved!!! I thought it was just like your average lube, had the shock of my life. Had to run off to the bathroom to do it, DH's face when I opened the box was a picture!!!

BusyNothings · 28/07/2016 21:24

I know it is a bit odd. I'm sure once pg we are all going to have worse than an iddy thermometer to deal with lol.

My cramps have stopped now. I wonder if it was ovulation pain or what =\

Jjspoon · 28/07/2016 21:09

Im orally too. Funny how were all so funny about doing it the other way yet will happily talk about cervixs and cm haha!

Google doesn't seem to have many answers to this one! I'm sure it'll start to come down soon though by the sounds of it. Thanks everyone, has been interesting seeing your charts!

Eva30 · 28/07/2016 21:07

I think fertility friend shows the wider picture a lot better than Ovia. I used them both to begin with then found Ovia a bit too focused on the 'now' so doesn't help you look at patterns or compare to previous months (FF does). Give it a try, you get a free trial. I bought the vip app I am such a fan, and I've never bought an app in my life!! This is what TTC has done to me...

Eva30 · 28/07/2016 21:02

100% orally - I couldn't do it the other way lol.
I do it in F but just looked and that would be 97.7 and mine went over that during luteal phase last month, there was a couple at 98. So at a complete guess maybe your in the last third of your cycle jj?

BusyNothings · 28/07/2016 20:52

I'm orally. It freaks me out a bit otherwise lol. There is a lot to stress about and research if you let it. I think you need to find your rhythm. My mum is really worried that it's going to stress me out, but It actually helps calm me. Something to do and try and understand.

Good job on waiting for OPKs I had to stop myself before my first AF. It will turn up jj. Also I wonder if you're right that the temp is left over hcg. Nothing on googley?

Pyjamas81 · 28/07/2016 20:50

Definitely orally - I know the other way is more accurate, but I just can't bring myself to do it! And DH would kick me out of bed lol

However, fully accept that if nothing has happened in a few months, I'll probably change my tune!

Jjspoon · 28/07/2016 20:46

Are you all temping orally or the other way lol?

Busy it sounds like it might be one of those things that is more personal to you rather than being a general temp for everyone but it is strange that mine are higher than you 3 so maybe it is the mc and there is something in it. Will be interesting to see how mine changes. I haven't done any opks yet and don't think there is much point until at least next cycle as hcg can effect them so might give false results.

Pyjamas81 · 28/07/2016 20:44

The graph drives me a bit nuts jj - but I persevere as it's something to do!!

Ha ha busy - I had to hide that baby day info as it was freaking me out too much!

Jjspoon · 28/07/2016 20:41

In starting to think having all this information around us isn't all good. I'm driving myself crazy with all this research and info!
