Thought I would create a fresh thread as the original had been going since Feb. This is for anyone TTC #1, a bit of moral support as we all attempt to embark on the scary journey that is parenthood! Join us if you are a mix of terrified and excited, don't really know what you're doing yet and hadn't heard of CM before you started reading Mumsnet!!

difficult even if you have no fertility issues the chances of conceiving each cycle are only 25% or something like that. It's hard not to worry but stressing about it may delay things even more (says she who is constantly stressing about it Wink) it's so easy to say in practise 'don't worry' but so hard to switch your head off! Maybe test again in the next few days? Opks may help if your ovulation time varies, just to let you know what to expect?

Im totally surrounded by pregnant people and new babies which makes it so much harder.

I was being treated for fertility problems 3 years ago but they gave me the all clear only a few months back so thought things would be ok.

Pyjamas81 · 23/08/2016 16:44

I've learned hormonal birth control is amazing, but it comes at a price! I was on Nexplanon for 3 years, then the pill for a few months to tide us over the wedding/honeymoon - wish we'd just used condoms now, especially now that I know how difficult it is to get pregnant!

Fingers crossed for both of us indeed - everything has a way of working itself out Smile

Difficultyear2015 · 23/08/2016 16:40

im trying not to worry too much yet, but its so hard. I was only on the pill this time for a short while, not even a year.

im hoping i ovulated late.

Fingers crossed for us :)

Pyjamas81 · 23/08/2016 16:32

I have that same fear as my ovulation (if it happens) varies so wildly (wouldn't have a clue if it weren't for opks as I have no other symptoms), but I'm putting it down to coming off the pill and Nexplanon. If we don't conceive in September - I'm going for tests. May seem early, but id rather know now than later to sort any issues out as I'm 35.

It could well be that you ovulated late though, so try not to panic. Flowers for you though - it's so hard not to let the mind wander to worrying things.

Difficultyear2015 · 23/08/2016 16:26

I wasnt tracking it with OPK's. I guessed that I ovulated around CD20, but could be totally out with that thinking back.

Im scared that Im not ovulating at all now.

Pyjamas81 · 23/08/2016 16:19

Hi there Difficult - sorry if I missed it (so hard to keep track of everyone!) but were you tracking ovulation with opks etc? Could it be possible that you ovulated late?

Currently enjoying my last day off lazing in our garden with my book and a beer Grin Refuse to check work emails until I'm on the tube to the office tomorrow!

Difficultyear2015 · 23/08/2016 16:14

I gave in and tested on Sunday night on the instruction of my acupuncturist as she said it all seems feasible that i could have been upduffed. BFN!

Im now on CD39 and no sign of AF still.

My light spotting has stopped. Im still getting queesy on and off, but other than that nothing bar the odd headache, spot and ravenous hunger.

I keep reading into this and scared its PCOS, we are just about to buy a house and Im starting to think about stopping it so that we can use the deposit money for IVF instead. Am i crazy?

CinnamonTwist · 23/08/2016 13:59

Haha pyjamas ttc makes us all slightly mad I think! I had 2 really vivid dreams last night, I never usually dream and if I do they're not usually that clear... But it was a pregnancy symptom for me last time. Still no sign of AF, but cramps continue. Going to wait til Friday to test again, if I'm not preg this is a really mean trick from my body. If I am I definitely ovulated 5+ days late. If I am preg then I am bloody glad we never risked it with contraception before!

I'm so impatient Grin anyone else testing any time soon to take my mind off it?

Never thought I'd be jealous of someone's ewcm - but here I am lol

Sounds promising mojito! Good work on all the dtd! I'm relieved the pressure is off now Grin

MoonlightMojitos · 23/08/2016 12:55

Cd13 for me today and ewcm has made a show... slightly earlier than expected so wonder if I'll ov slightly early or if it'll be around for a few days. Dtd on cd 9 and 11 so will again tonight, maybe tomorrow as well as defo Thursday cd15 and go from there.

Pyjamas81 · 23/08/2016 08:05

All done and officially in the TWW - apps telling me to test on 31st but I think that's too early. Going to go by Smep plan advice and test 15 days after peak. If AF is going to show, she'll show beforehand and better than seeing the BFN!

I must must must remember that symptoms are most probably in my head, like they were last month!

Will try out the epo and tea as well Eva - although I'm finding it hard to drink enough fluids when OPK tests tell me not to drink too much!

Eva30 · 23/08/2016 06:40

And good luck with testing pie!

Eva30 · 23/08/2016 06:39

Hi lotte and congratulations. What moonlight said - pregnancy forums and GP app. Wish you a happy & healthy pregnancy.
pjs impressed with your determination! I'm the same trying to improve my CM this month so I've got evening primrose oil and green tea and drinking lots of water (and needing the toilet all the time, good practice for pregnancy!) so will let you know if the EPO & tea does actually help or not.
cinnamon so frustrating waiting. It was driving me mad waiting for AF this month and my cycle was only 2 days longer than the previous longest oneBlush
I'm on cd7 now, patiently waiting for FW, doing lots of exercise and eating healthy.. Will start opks on cd10, expect ov around cd15.

lottesuz86 · 22/08/2016 19:17

Thank you MoonlightMojito i will do
now to tell my other half (he's not home yet..)

MoonlightMojitos · 22/08/2016 19:06

Haha 😅 pj nothing wrong with that, a little helping hand to get in the mood for a good cause!

Hi lottesuz and congrats. There are lots of threads in the pregnancy section for different stages and people due around the same time as you and also in the antenatal section you might find people in your area :). Give your Dr a ring and see what the procedure is in your area first things first as it seems to be different depending on where abouts you are!

lottesuz86 · 22/08/2016 18:30

Joining this thread very late, and new to mums net... Hello everyone :)

So first time ttc, just got married five weeks ago. 13 dpo and just got my first BFP. Freaking out!

I feel like i'm meant to do something now, and i want to tell everyone, but know its way early for that. anyone in the same position?

Pyjamas81 · 22/08/2016 18:09

Thanks mojito! DH bringing back a bottle of something to help get us in the mood tonight - you know you're over dtd when you're resorting to Monday night booze...

MoonlightMojitos · 22/08/2016 17:48

pj good job on the dtd marathon! Fx for you!

cinnamon sorry you're still waiting but sounds like something is happening down there so hopefully you won't be waiting long either way til you know what's going on again.

Piehunter · 22/08/2016 16:56

This may be useful? www.fertilityfriend.com/Faqs/Charting-after-miscarriage.html it does count bleeding as period, hopefully things will settle quite quickly for you.

I'm cd30, 9dpo, will probably test again on weds if no AF as I'm due on tomorrow if i have the same length luteal phase as last month but no idea if I ov'd. Ovia says period due yesterday as had a 28 day cycle last month but ov'd late this month. It's all a bit of a mystery!

CinnamonTwist · 22/08/2016 13:46

busy this is precisely my problem, I don't know where I'm counting from, I hoped I'd have a normal cycle straight away again afterwards, wishful thinking I know, but it would appear not! Sorry I cant be more help! Do you use opks? I wish I had now so that I had some clue what was going on!

OP posts:
Pyjamas81 · 22/08/2016 13:23

I know busy, v strange, but nothing is surprising me with my cycle anymore! We dtd the first day I got a positive OPK and static smiley, the day after, the day after, had a break last night and will dtd again tonight. So over TTC dtd.

Hopefully someone will be able to answer your question soon - I'm clueless I'm afraid!

Decided against cinema - nothing I really want to watch and would mean breaking the hermit code and being around people ha ha. Will rent a sky movie instead Smile Did a 10 min meditation exercise and remembered why I used to love it so much!

BusyNothings · 22/08/2016 13:09

pie my boobs are like that too lol and my dh also gets the slappy hand. its extremely romantic! what day are you on now? sounds promising and well done on not symptom spotting!

PJ the pains sound bizarre did you and dh manage to get dtd in then? enjoy the cinema!

cinnamon i know how you feel about the imaginary line, i swear i saw them for days!

Can anybody help me im a bit confused, the bleeding has stopped i think and im not in as much pain now. Do i count this as cycle day 4 (started on friday) or do i have to wait until my next period to figure out what is going on?

CinnamonTwist · 22/08/2016 11:55

Haha Piehunter I had that exact thought with my uterus early this morning when I couldn't get comfortable due to crampy stretchy pains 'I wish I could just take it out and leave it somewhere to do its thing while I get on with what I want to do, like sleep' my boobs really hurt last time, and they don't now, I am torn between thinking this is because it's AF mucking me about and it's because they've already grown a lot so won't hurt so quickly next time!
pyjamas that sounds lovely and relaxing! Hope you enjoy Smile

Pyjamas81 · 22/08/2016 11:29

Ah cinnamon- the waiting is so annoying! Hope everything falls into place one way or the other soon.

What day are you on piehunter?

I've had stabby right hand pelvic pains today - maybe egg took its time after LH surge after all?! Dtd tonight just in case - am on CD14 now. Wish I'd come off hormonal birth control much earlier! Ah well, will just never go on it again ha ha

Have a couple of days off work just doing absolutely nothing and enjoying a bit of hermit-like solitude. just tried yoga DVD - wow, pretty damn boring! Going to see what's on at the cinema - live solo cinema time Grin
