Thought I would create a fresh thread as the original had been going since Feb. This is for anyone TTC #1, a bit of moral support as we all attempt to embark on the scary journey that is parenthood! Join us if you are a mix of terrified and excited, don't really know what you're doing yet and hadn't heard of CM before you started reading Mumsnet!!

Hi never - sorry for your loss Flowers but welcome to the thread

Difficult - I really rate acupuncture, it helped me massively when I was going through a horrific break up and depression a few years ago.

I just had same day delivery from Amazon of my next batch of CB digi OPK sticks and a book called 'taking charge of your fertility'. It's quite a monster book, but I'm sure I'll get through it quickly!!

Hi never sorry for your loss Flowers but welcome! More than happy to share and help you with the your next steps!

difficult that sounds interesting. Although the idea of acupuncture sounds like torture to me. I'm terrified of needles!

NeverGoOutOfStyle · 09/08/2016 15:43

Hi everyone, I've been lurking around these parts for a few weeks now and I think I'm ready to join you all! I unexpectedly found out I was pregnant 5 weeks ago (On the pill, PCOS) and although quite surprised we were both quite excited but I was very cautious, I had a feeling something wasn't quite right, and 3 days after finding out I was definitely pregnant I woke up bleeding. A scan at the EPU confirmed I was miscarrying and we were heartbroken (still are) but it definitely let us know that we really, really do want to have a baby.

My doctor recommended we wait one cycle before TTC so this past month we've just gone without contraception waiting for either no arrival of AF (I did have my fingers crossed) or for it to arrive, and be able to get some idea of what my cycles are like. This is my first child, and DP's second. AF arrived this morning, so I can at least finally track my cycles and cross my fingers now!

Im not doing too badly on the relaxation front. But it doesnt help when some young man screams at me through my car window whilst Im sat in traffic because he thinks I could move further forward. Some people just have no patience and are so rude.

I got home and just burst into tears, it was more the shock I think. I didn't even know what to say back to him so I just looked at him!

Im also not great at keeping my feet warm. I dont have great circulation, so feel the cold on my feet more than anywhere. I'l be digging out my slippers for when I get home.

Will be due to test soon but really dont want to buy a test in a shop. Last time I did the lady on the checkout wished me luck. Which was lovely, but it didn't end well, and I want to keep it to myself until I know all is ok.

Difficultyear2015 · 09/08/2016 14:33

Oh and of course, acupuncture every 2 weeks! :D

Which although expensive, its so relaxing I think I wouldnt mind doing it either.

Difficultyear2015 · 09/08/2016 14:32

The tips are a little weird...
But here goes:

1 - Keep the soles of your feet warm.

2 - When your DP/DH finishes in the shower, get him to spray his balls with cold water

3 - yoga

the rest of what she said was pretty standard like, eating healthily ,lots of seeds, nuts, avocados and dairy. Avoid aspartame/sweetners, sugars, caffeine. Dont over exercise but do nice walks, stay as relaxed as possible, listen to music and DTD every day or every other day and dont bother tracking ovulation, just keep at it.

BusyNothings · 09/08/2016 14:18

Yeah I'm with you there pj the scary math/science layout of ff puts me off a bit but handy to see the whole picture!

eva I'm on cd30 of my first full cycle since having my implant out in early May. I've pretty much counted this cycle out in my head no expectations but it still gets you thinking doesn't it? How are you getting on?

Glad to hear everything is settling down for you difficult. Any tips you can share? Wink

Pyjamas81 · 09/08/2016 12:36

I think your chart is looking good busy! But, what do I know, given recent events lol. I think the fertility friend app is definitely better for temping and seeing the big picture - my issue is that I'm extremely superficial and it's ugly while Ovia is so pretty lol

Eva30 · 09/08/2016 11:53

Lol busy yes it's not the most user friendly app! But it helps you see the bigger picture easier don't you think? Remind me, What cycle are you on, how long were your previous cycles?
daisy that's really helpful to know, thanks and yes definitely keep popping back in with updates. Hope it all goes smooth and no morning sickness!!
difficultyear good to hear things are settling down for you. Care to share some hints and tips? We need all the help we can getGrin

Difficultyear2015 · 09/08/2016 11:25

My symptoms are settling down a bit now.

Nausea each day is getting better, and my skin isn't as greasy now. Im less tired than I was a few days ago too.

No sign of AF yet. Ovia not saying to test yet.

My acupuncture went really well. She gave me lots of helpful hints and tips which I hadnt heard of before.

BusyNothings · 09/08/2016 10:55

Just sat and done fertility friend and my god it's confusing lol!

BusyNothings · 09/08/2016 10:24

Ah pj that sucks sorry for the weird and crappy month! But like you said think positive and on to next cycle!

eva those temps are looking great! I'll keep fingers crossed for you!

daisy I'm really happy for you you'll have to stop by and let us know how you're getting on Grin

I'm now on day 3 of sleepless nights, lack of appetite, 2 days of nausea and dizziness and over a week of sore boobs and evil nipples. Still no period and no cramps. Got a definitely absolutely bfn yesterday. Really fed up now but had a slight elevation in temps this morning so fed up and confused.

Daisy111 · 09/08/2016 10:00

Hello all

I've been lurking on this thread since Friday when I got BFP, willing you all on. I am going to try to relax and stop thinking about this for a while, and just keep my fingers crossed it works out for my bean! So I am off mumsnet for the time being, trying to stay sane and think about other things.

If anyone is interested, I didn't think I could be pg this month, because it wasn't that clear when I ov'd, so I thought we might have missed it. Also, my DH randomly used spit as lube (sorry, gross!) before I could stop him, and that can kill them off. So don't lose hope if you think you've messed it up.

The only symptom I had was waking early, feeling too hot. My temps also stayed high, but I had no other symptoms and still don't really, apart from bloating.

Anyway, massive good luck to all of you! It will happen soon.

Over and out.

Xx

Pyjamas81 · 09/08/2016 09:45

You're comfortably above the baseline, so not out yet! And remember those symptoms can mean totally opposite things as they're common in both AF and PG, another reason I want to totally disregard every twinge next time!

Eva30 · 09/08/2016 09:37

Ohhh yes I know all about it! I swear I'm not going to test but it appears I have no willpower, always the same every month haha!
And definitely re pg symptoms. Every little twinge and I'm like this is the month!! Then I get the bfn and it brings me back down to earth. I am still at the early stages of finding it amusing, won't be if nothing has happened by Xmas.
I'm good thanks, 8dpo today. Cramps, bloating and backache but I'm thinking AF is on her way. I checked on last months chart and I had bloating and backache this time last month too and then the witch showed her face. Temp is identical to yesterday which never happens.

Pyjamas81 · 09/08/2016 07:59

Thanks eva - still pretty confused about cycles as first one after coming off pill was 32 days, second was 22 days and third was 34 days. Maybe the middle one was an anomaly! I'm going to assume my cycle is 34 days and not test until am late - these FRERs and CB digitals are not cheap ha ha, and I can't take more BFNs than necessary!

Also - I've learned how my head can create phantom pregnancy symptoms, it was really quite impressive! From now on, there are no symptoms or I assume it's AF. I say this now of course, we'll see in the middle of the next 2WW! At least I'm working from home today, so I can be alone with my cramps and bad mood ha ha.

How are you getting on?

Eva30 · 09/08/2016 07:45

Ah I'm sorry pyjamas. On the positive side you've got a baseline on your first cycle now to compare with next cycle and no longer in limbo

Pyjamas81 · 09/08/2016 06:11

And just as I got another bfn - AF got me Sad Well, I definitely have spotting anyway and a temp dip. Disappointed after a long and uncertain ride, but at least I can move on to next cycle!

Eva30 · 09/08/2016 05:55

Yes busy it's all about the 'phases' not the actual numbers, this gives more detail:
www.fertilityfriend.com/Faqs/Triphasic-chart.html
jj the plan is to hold out til Saturday. Step away from the tests...
I'm fine once I get out of the house it's just knowing there's a couple there shouting my nameGrin
pyjamas good luck for the test today!

BusyNothings · 08/08/2016 22:10

Me to pj I think these women with consistent and direct streams must do many more pelvic floor exercises than me!

No worries jj I think I'm going doolally anyway! Still not had cramps which is very unusual but definitely lost my appetite over the last few days which is usually the other way around!

Pyjamas81 · 08/08/2016 22:08

Ha ha busy - I'm crap at actually POAS, has to be the pot even though I hate it!

Jjspoon · 08/08/2016 22:07

Well they could be higher but I thought they still look good because they are obviously higher than they were first half so maybe that's just your personal temp variation? I'm not sure if it matters what the temp is as long as there is an increase and they look consistent last few days? To be honest I'm new to this temping though so sorry I could be chatting rubbish... I so wish I had temped last cycle when got my BFP would have been interesting to have something to compare against.

BusyNothings · 08/08/2016 21:54

Thanks jj I thought my temps were pretty crap. Aren't they supposed to be high? I hope your cycle makes sense soon and dh enjoying the +sex drive! Lol

pj I know how you feel about pots. I wish there was another way to do it. Seriously not nice. My dh read the instructions the other day and exclaimed "hold it in a consistent direct stream for 20seconds!? I can't even get that and my hole is half the size of yours and I point it!" Had my laughing like a mad woman for ages.

Maybe I'm going a bit loopy...

Jjspoon · 08/08/2016 21:44

😂 aw I really hope things sort themselves out soon for you either way (although the BFP would be great!) Being in limbo sucks!

Pyjamas81 · 08/08/2016 21:23

Ovia says my lp was 11 days - it's all so bloody weird lol

I'm now in the strange situation of doing pregnancy tests and opks because I don't know whether I'm up the duff or frigging ovulating! You know you're in a bad place when you realise you've peed in more pots than loos over the day Confused

Hope your cycle sorts itself out soon jj!
