Hugh enjoys ISW and his love affair with Doreen. He watches out for skittle tits and weepyitis. Mrs Arseholey Fucknut (Af) shows up when you least want her but brings wine and soft cheese as a consolation prize.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself you're pregnant in the tww That is paramount! It messes with your head and makes you crazy crazier

We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts. We want a fanny full of determined Doreen, not unicorn farts and gnome tears with extra sparkle. We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area.

Post your stats and add your dates. A more lovely, supportive group of ladies you couldn't wish to meet. We've got a few grads sticking around I won't leave and no question is too daft. We have opk experts, cervical mucus management teams and symptom spotters extraudinaire!

nicky the eating plan looks really interesting - where did this come from?

kwick · 25/05/2016 15:55

Welcome all newbies!

What is my version of DILRW? HSSUMFW? Having speculum shoved up my fanjo week? Okay it is not repeatedly (although internal scans are) but I can tell you DILRW sounds a lot more fun!

nicky883 · 25/05/2016 12:57

Folicular phase is the time between the rnd of your period and before u get the lh surge or the ewcm. This is when the FSH hormone is released

WingingIt83 · 25/05/2016 11:52

nicky is follicular phase everything up until you get LH serge on opk would you say? I'm two days away from FW?

WingingIt83 · 25/05/2016 11:40

Exactly Nicky

PMA PMA! .....I'm trying anyway!

I'm the same with my smear test, I convince myself I'm going to get an abnormal result but then don't Hmm

nicky883 · 25/05/2016 11:04

Wingingit that was i was thinking too but i am trying to force myself to be positive if you havent been trying for more than a year there is no reason to think there is something "wrong" with you unless of course you have other symptoms that make you think that like missed periods etc .
I want to roll my eyes whenever someone says"relax and it will happen" but there is a truth to it making it happen though its a lot harder !

I am trying to focus on myself making myself feel betrer through better nutrition and excersise and i am hoping this will
Make my body more welcoming to conception

WingingIt83 · 25/05/2016 10:28

I think it's the 20% odds that really knocked me when i first heard that. The realisation that I wasn't a teenager any more who according to our sex ed would only need to look at a boy to get pregnant!

It's also the fear of the unknown that seems to niggle at me daily -what if there's a problem with one or both of us meaning each month is a waste of time anyway :-(

nicky883 · 25/05/2016 09:51

I undestand how you feel kava if u are temping etc each month you feel that you do everything right but realistically you still have 20 % chance of concieving
See the attached nutrition for cycle i will be ysing this from now on i ll leport on the results

Sky redundant then unredundant?! That's the first I've ever heard!! They obviously suck! Sound about the same as my managers though. Maybe new job is like white knickers? Take it and you're sure to get upduffed!

I'm currently browsing new jobs but internally, so completely different type of job, new managers, different building, etc. It sounds exciting but do I want so much new if I'm (hopefully) not long off having a family?

LovelyFishy · 25/05/2016 09:45

Sorry to hear that Kav, it all sounded so promising! This can be a very cruel game we play. Fx that this still isn't AF and sending love your way! Flowers In either scenario I think this calls for cake.

SkyLucy · 25/05/2016 09:45

Oh Kav, sorry to hear you're so down. I am constantly amazed by how bloody stressful this all is - I'm on cycle 5 like you, which I know isn't very long, but it's taking its toll! Hope your day improves - a week away sounds ace Smile

Interested by Ema's comment about job-hunting being the equivalent of white knickers! My job is ridic at the moment and I'm sure the stress isn't helping babymaking (I got made redundant two weeks ago, then made unredundant the following week. You can't make it up). I'd love a new job, or just a break, but am terrified I'd get upduffed the minute I hand in my resignation! But then, in the broad scheme of things, isn't that what I want?!

Sigh. Treats to everyone on this grey (in London anyway) morning Cake Chocolate Biscuit

LemonLimeTonic · 25/05/2016 09:29

Sorry to hear this Kava. My husband is exactly the same. Money seems to burn a hole in his pocket. We're desperately trying to save a for house deposit... He went and dropped £1K in the Apple Store last week. I was fuming! Why am I taking pack lunches to work and cutting back when he's off spending? It doesn't seem right.

Fingers crossed for you next cycle.

kavanaughkj · 25/05/2016 09:16

This was cycle 5, nicky, so I shouldn't be so upset, plenty of people have to wait far longer. I'm just stressed over my age because I've been temping and opking since the start. At least if I don't get pg next month I can go to the gp to ask for help I guess. It just feels like the perfect day to curl up in bed and shut the world away, and I can't. Probably just as well. Week off next week to look forward to!

nicky883 · 25/05/2016 08:29

Sorry you feel like that kava was excactly the same last week it really gets you especially when is a working day . Ttc is really stressfull and i think its challanging a relationship too .
How long have you been ttcing ? Try to stay positive i know its hard xx

kavanaughkj · 25/05/2016 08:25

Spotting, not sporting Angry

kavanaughkj · 25/05/2016 08:24

Properly heinous morning. Temps took a dive and I'm sporting, this is AF on her way, I have no doubt. Mini argument with DH over spending (he keeps buying shit we don't need with money we should be saving for a house deposit, and I found the latest impulse buy this morning) and I am now late for work as I missed my train by 1 min. All I want to do is sit on the station and cry but would prefer not to be observed by a bunch of random strangers on the opposite platform.

Fucked off, depressed, increasingly fed up with this shit and needed to rant. Sorry you ladies get the brunt of it but I can't really share this with anybody around me who would get it the way you do.

I just want to be pregnant. I thought I was - this fucking hurts. Sad

Yep, definitely PMSing ...

nicky883 · 25/05/2016 07:45

Good morning ladies i am reading the woman codes and it has some interesting theories about eating with your cycle so dofferent foods at each stage help with keeping you hormone balanced . Has anyone heard this theory before i have been researching like mad since feb and its the first thibk i read that makes pwrfect sense but in a way is too simple and too good to be true ?

SuchaJem · 24/05/2016 21:33

Lemonlimetonic your PMS sounds similar to mine - but mine lasts longer Confused I'm totally unhinged for a good 10 days a month.

I didn't OPK first cycle either, good to just give things a go and see how you get on. Good luck.

kavanaughkj · 24/05/2016 21:21

emalady, I temp every morning. In order to get anything meaningful out of it, you have to take your temps at the same time every morning, and you have to take them the moment you wake up - before you get up or speak or anything. I leave my thermometer in my bedside table drawer and take my temps at 7am each morning when my alarm goes off. You have 30 mins leeway on either side of the time you normally take it before the temp is considered unreliable - so I could record a temperature taken any time from 6:30am to 7:30am and still be OK. You should also only be taking your temp after at least 3 solid hours of sleep.

I take mine vaginally as I sleep with my mouth open, which often ends up chucking out unreliable temperatures as well.

Welcome Wingingit and Lemonlime!

The Daily Mail, Moose? Tells you all you need to know, doesn't it ... Hmm

Mooseville · 24/05/2016 20:59

You CAN get pregnant if you have your clothes on

dailym.ai/1XtgLS5

Oh yeah Daily Mail. That's right.... All of us here are getting pregnant from smooching with our clothes on.... FFS!!! Hmm Angry

LemonLimeTonic · 24/05/2016 20:19

Hi everyone! Going to join in if that's okay.

Age: 29
TTC #1
Cycle: 1 / 5CD

So I'm a newbie to all of this. Itching to have a go and see what happens! We're steering clear from OPKs for a few month. Using Ovia but have no real idea what I'm doing. I've been off the pill for over a couple of years and things run pretty well to schedule minus / plus a day or two. I think I can feel when I ovulate. I get a stitch like sharp pain once a month and it switches from side to side. That could be gas though. Never had the nerve to do an OPK to see.

I PMS like a raging bull in a china shop for 2 days and then cry my eyes out for 2 days. My darling patient husband has a joke for my AF: how do you make a Hormone?.... Don't pay her!

celizabe · 24/05/2016 20:02

I was the same emalady, so I had to bin doing Bbt at all, my charts were all over the place and just confused me more. You could be luckier than me though, so maybe give it a try and see how you get on?

WingingIt83 · 24/05/2016 20:00

Let's hope this is our month mizzisdee

emalady I think as long as you temp at the point you get up then it shouldn't matter what time that might be as I don't think your body will change temperature much in its 'resting' state.

MizzisDee · 24/05/2016 18:59

Hi winging it we're almost ttc twins, 32, ttc #1 I'm just two days ahead on CD.

emalady · 24/05/2016 18:31

kestrel I thought looking at a new job would surely be the white knicker equivalent, instead I spent 4 months (my notice period plus the month I started work as I would not have been entitled to mat leave) kinda trying but kinda terrified and avoiding DILRW. Really confusing time. That said now I am in a new and better (and better paid) job so it's good. Just annoying when things delay the plan!
winging hello and welcome!

Anyone have any knowledge or experience of temping when they wake up a lot. I haven't been checking as I don't know how reliable it will be, I normally wake up to go to the toilet around 3-4 am and get up between 5.30-6ish on a work day and 7-10 on the weekend if I can get away with it. I don't know if it is worth trying, if it will add anything or if it will just be frustrating and annoying with loads of numbers and no pattern.

Anyone else getting massive ads for the morning after pill? seems an odd choice!
