Hugh enjoys ISW and his love affair with Doreen. He watches out for skittle tits and weepyitis. Mrs Arseholey Fucknut (Af) shows up when you least want her but brings wine and soft cheese as a consolation prize.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself you're pregnant in the tww That is paramount! It messes with your head and makes you crazy crazier

We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts. We want a fanny full of determined Doreen, not unicorn farts and gnome tears with extra sparkle. We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area.

Post your stats and add your dates. A more lovely, supportive group of ladies you couldn't wish to meet. We've got a few grads sticking around I won't leave and no question is too daft. We have opk experts, cervical mucus management teams and symptom spotters extraudinaire!

I'd be the same sky It's me working away a lot at the moment and it's so frustrating knowing time is ticking away....

I have no idea what's going on with me. Took EPO last cycle for first time until cd 14 and positive OPK and AF came two days early.
This month, I reduced the dose by half to 1000mg a day, and tbh I've only remembered to take them a few days. Today is cd 14, every month I've always got a positive OPK on 14, I haven't been doing them religiously, but yesterday and today they are just pretty blank???? What has happened to my perfectly regular cycle? Stupid EPO, still haven't had any EWCM, not seen that since cycle 1. Bloody managed to get DP on board with Doreen and now where's Hugh? No idea if I've ov'd early or its late??? FFS! Pass the wine! At least it's Friday!!!

jem got everything crossed for you... Let's get these bloody eggs fertilised!!

marmitetoast1 · 03/06/2016 13:36

Sorry to hear you're still in limbo Kwick, so frustrating for you Flowers I bet the cow turns up the day before GP appointment!

Good luck Jem, fx this is the month for you!

I would definitely feel the same Sky, it becomes such a big thing, it's totally understandable I think.

CD8 here. My first batch of OPKs arrived yesterday but have now decided not to use them this cycle and keep it relaxed again for cycle 2. I mean last month we didn't have a clue about timings at all, so this month at least I have an approximate idea of the fertile week (presuming I have another 36 day cycle that is... have started early anyway just in case! Wink ) I was just tempted to use them this month to find out if/for the hopeful reassurance that I am actually ovulating...

WingingIt83 · 03/06/2016 13:23

well done on the weight loss pug!

Ok advice please; so following my picture of my chart, it looks like I had positive opk on CD17 and CD18. At the time I thought CD18 was stronger but now both dry I think CD17 is the closest to control line. OPKd on CD19 at 2pm and 8pm and both faint so the peak is definitely over.

I had a bit of EWCM on CD19. How do you actually predict your day of ovulation? Is it CD18 on basis that was the last day of strong OPK? I don't really get pains as such, feel mildly crampy/groggy today (CD20).

My next dilemma is that I now appear to fall into the short luteal phase bracket and have read that it can cause issues conceiving. If Ov was CD18 and my cycle is 28 again this month then that's only 10 days Hmm.

SuchaJem · 03/06/2016 13:00

Sky don't feel like a bitch at all, I would be gutted if I had to miss a month. Assuming you can't nip out and join him for a few strategic days...

SkyLucy · 03/06/2016 10:55

Thanks for all the deets Starky. I'm particularly cheered by your note on "we weren't really trying" - always hoped suspected that was bollocks!

Had a weird/sad row with DH last night...he has to go to Miami for work in a couple of weeks - rubbish timing. I gently suggested next week would be better but he said he had no control over it. That means we fast-forward to cycle 7. I'm surprisingly upset by this, but feel like such a bitch for getting upset! Sad

StarkyTheDirewolf · 03/06/2016 09:34

geeup I joined this thread at its conception in October, the intention was to come of the pill in December to start trying in January. I've not been on any hormonal contraception for almost 3 years but we had decided not to start ttc until Jan/Feb.

Well, by December I'd worn dh down Grin he was away/working for most of December and then what I thought was fertile week actually wasn't, so we completely missed it as we were at my Dps for most of Christmas/new year! Was my first month using opk's. I had a high lh level consistently which was confusing as balls. That was a 5 week cycle I think.

On to January, thought we timed it right, but again, unpredictable cycle, I thought I was ovulating earlier than I was. Had a go at working out where my cervix was, gave up swiftly. Started wondering if I was doing opk's right, so did one a day to build up a picture.

February. This was a shock 33 dayer as opposed to the usual for me, which was 37-40+. So short and sweet for me, but annoying because this was the only cycle I thought we might have cracked it. Opk's were showing that I ovulated later than day 14, usually after day 17/18.

March, took evening primrose oil for the first two weeks of cycle. Didn't do opk's. My Dh could smell when I was ovulating, we tested the theory before, his nose knows! Dtd every other day, up unil 2 days before I was assuming I ovulated, then dtd every day until 3 days after. Got bfp.

The only thing I did differently was taking evening primrose and not opking. Honestly though, I put it down to dtd from before I thought I was ovulating. I took folic acid from December every day. Ate well etc. I drank in the tww if I fancied a glass of wine. There's no special recipe that I did other than dtd A LOT and more frequently from before you think you ovulate. I put balance active gels up my twink a couple of times after af but before fertile week to keep it healthy, but I've always done that as I'm prone to cystitis/thrush.

snow fingers crossed! kwick got you in my thoughts and prayers lovely lady.
pug that's exellant news! Well done you!

And just to confirm the "oh we weren't really trying" thing is bollocks! I've actually said it, it came out of my mouth! I think it's because people actually ask about your sex life and I've found it really weird and just waned to move on really quickly in the conversation!

Thanks everyone. It's first week weigh in so I'm sure some of that is probably water loss too, but basically I tracked everything I ate with a food diary, weighed/measured my healthy extras and checked the syn values before I ate things. Plus ensuring a third of my plate was speed foods.

Hoping that I may get my half stone award next week if I lose 3lbs this week. Fx.

Kathrino · 03/06/2016 08:30

Good luck Jem!

AF arrived this morning. New test date of 2nd July. Going to get a bit more scientific for this cycle I think...

SuchaJem · 03/06/2016 08:12

Morning all

Cd 15 over here, peak OPK yesterday so egg should be cruising by. Plenty of Doreen up there so it's fx time.

Not much by way of ovulation pain, which is annoying. Had a twinge or two yesterday but nothing to hang your hat on.

Well done on your weight loss pug that's good going.

Fx witch here soon kwick

kwick · 03/06/2016 07:57

Well done pug!!! What is the secret to your SW success?

Still no sign of AF - maybe I should try raspberry leaf tea?

Feefeefs · 03/06/2016 07:32

Peaches I think you're right May BMI was 32 pre pregnancy and I asked the GP if it would be better to lose weight first or try anyway, she said she was more important but to continue healthy eating. I'm 28.

Good luck snow!

I'm 12+4 now.

Kathrino · 02/06/2016 22:20

I see your point too bluebird. I guess my main concern is that I have an auto immune condition for which I take regular medication. My rheumatologist didn't seem to think it would be an issue when I mentioned TTC with him last year but I think I might do some research and have another conversation with him about it and then maybe tackle the GP depending on the outcome. Urgh.

Kwick, I hate limboland with a passion. Maybe making a GP appointment will prompt some action!

Well done on the weight loss pugmummy! 4 lbs is amazing!

Pugmummy87 · 02/06/2016 21:57

I do see your point bluebird .
I'm also not entitled to any nhs ivf treatment as DH already has a child, I couldn't afford to go private, all they would probably give me is clomid. So that's why I'm feeling more and more anxious about it. But as I said I'm going to wait until BMI is below 30 (which will probably be nearly a year anyway to be honest).

Peaches that's interesting about the weight. GP is already aware I have pcos anyway so I know they will say that losing weight will help (and I'm hoping it will!)

Also had another baby bomb this evening. FiL's sister has just announced she is pregnant with twins! Getting slightly bitter about having to put on the grin and bear it face every time I get told about another pregnancy announcement.

On the bright side I did lose 4lbs tonight at slimming world ☺

bluebird3 · 02/06/2016 21:18

kwick that is so unfair...maybe I should look at moving to France. I'll get one go on the NHS when it comes to it. I really think it will as I'm on cycle 16 without a whiff of a bfp.

For ladies thinking of GP visits... When I went at a year (I'm 30) the GP said try 6 more months and we'll then do some tests. I then slightly exaggerated (well we've been trying for a year but off bcp for a year and a half...) and she the ordered a blood test. I never thought it would get to the point where I needed medical intervention and if I had it my way I wouldn't need it. It's horrible feeling like a pin cushion and that this will be your life now for the next few months or years and there's no guarantee of a baby at the end of it. I don't want to discourage anyone but if you haven't been trying for a year there really is no reason to worry yet and they probably won't do anything on the NHS anyway. And you really don't want this to become medicalised. I would take a deep breath, remind yourself up to a year is very normal and try to relax until that time. Then, if no luck go see your GP and start the process. FlowersFlowersFlowers

kwick · 02/06/2016 21:02

For God's sake kat did you go home????? This has been like reading a Jackie Collins novel that you cannot put down. Anyway I hope you DTD and your magic potion is making its way to where it needs to Grin

So still no sign of fricking AF - I have booked appointment with GP, earliest I could get was for 13 June!!!! I feel like I am in limbo land... I do not want to make any holiday plans in case luck is on my side and I can do IVF again thsi summer.
BTW found out that in France they get 4 IVF tries on their NHS equivalent... I did not even get one. Envy

kwick · 02/06/2016 20:50

skylucy the no baths thing is to avoid infections. Once my pregnancy was confirmed I was advised on no bathing until week 10. I had a MC at week 8 but then could not have a bath for another 2 weeks due to MC... Now having a bath just reminds me of my loss. 😐

bluebird maybe use the 3 months rest to work on egg quality improvement to up your chances when you start back up?

Kathrino · 02/06/2016 19:25

Hurrah snow, congratulations!! Keeping everything crossed for the next two weeks!

Kat, absolutely re giving up. DH and I are spending more time talking about holidays we want to go on etc than we were a couple of months ago and stuff that we'd put on hold because we wanted to save money for a possible baby is now getting done (like a new bathroom hopefully!). Anyway, have fun tonight ;)

Good luck at your weigh in tonight pugmummy :)

Peaches, I find myself getting irrationally annoyed at people who have children. How did they manage it when I can't? Then I realise I'm being crazy and I have no idea how difficult it might have been for them.

No AF yet but definite cramps this afternoon/evening. Keeping everything crossed for next month because DH is going to be away the month after!

Peaches8Posies · 02/06/2016 18:49

Yeh kat go get him Grin

Lovely scan feefs glad your well.

Go team snow fx for you both.

I'm always amazed, and by amazed I mean pissed off, when someone tells me oh I pregnant but it was a complete shock. OK, I know people have accidents eg a condom has burst, but not to the extent people make out. I've spoken to people who have been like oh I had no idea, then they tell you they were having unprotected sex often but thinking it wasnt at a certain time in the month or they did it a good few times and nothing happened so didn't think it would ever happen Hmm very few of the I did it once and here I am pregnant stories actually add up. But then, when you do try it feels like forever for you. But if your unhappy I say speak to your gp reguardless. Even if they say give it another couple of months then come back you know you have started the ball rolling. And on the second visit you have the right to say, I've waited, I want help now thanks.

pug in my reading I came across a leading fertility expert who says that a women's weight is not a priority when he evaluates her. He would rather see a women sooner than later especially if they are 30+. (Forget what your age is sorry) but what he was trying to get across is that while waiting on referral and tests you can be loosing weight while he is eliminating other issues and not wasting time. Gp's are quick to dismiss sometimes, I have a great gp and a waste of space gp and try and book appointmentshops accordingly haha.

Snowdog37 · 02/06/2016 18:42

Thanks all! I'm already going nuts. Dh has retreated to the back garden to cut the grass and potter around away from my paranoid rants lol.

SuchaJem · 02/06/2016 18:04

Go mr snow! Keeping everything crossed for you. Hope kwicks Guide To The TWW helps keep you sane!

Kat I find the longer it takes the more I want it Envy I don't think it's a bad thing at all to question it though. Some might even say the time to really consider it rather than rushing into it getting knocked up first go might be a better way to go about it.

That said hurry the f up please baby! Enough thinking has been done over here!

KatOnATinRo0f · 02/06/2016 17:48

Lol I'm on the way home . DH is most amused

Pugmummy87 · 02/06/2016 17:30

Kath I'm with you on the why is it not happening front. Also tempted to go to gp and not lie as such, but say that I've not been using any contraception for 5 years but only really actively trying for 7 months and see what they say. But I know they will take one look at me and trot out the 'lose weight first' line so I just don't see the point of wasting an appt at the moment.
Once I get my bmi down to below 30, if it still hasn't happened then I will.

Speaking of which I have my first weigh in tonight at slimming world. I have been super good this week, so I'm hoping I've had a good loss.

Mooseville · 02/06/2016 17:19

Kat I'm with you, the first two weeks of the cycle I'm not bothered, and think it doesn't matter if it never happens. Then once ovulation time comes around I'm back to being baby crazy!!

Good luck if you do go home, hopefully it's a rewarding shag!

snow 37 million?? It only takes one lucky one! Fingers crossed!

KatOnATinRo0f · 02/06/2016 16:42

Oh man.... All you ladies telling me to pop home. I'd better get my blusher on Blush
I suppose I could do. It might be worth it.

Snow... Well done you! Fingers crossed!

I was wondering when to go to Gp ... Started trying in August. I'm only just 29 so a bit early for them to be alarmed. Can't even believe it's got this far.

Has anyone slightly gone off the idea of having a baby/wondered if they should just carry on and enjoy life for now without children? Or is that just me feeling like that sometimes?

Snowdog37 · 02/06/2016 16:24

The bun making ingredients are all in the oven! It was uncomfy but not painful. Just have to wait two weeks now (and not go crazy). Dh did awesomely: 37 million motile sperm after the wash!!!!! How can this not work?!?
