Hugh enjoys ISW and his love affair with Doreen. He watches out for skittle tits and weepyitis. Mrs Arseholey Fucknut (Af) shows up when you least want her but brings wine and soft cheese as a consolation prize.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself you're pregnant in the tww That is paramount! It messes with your head and makes you crazy crazier

We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts. We want a fanny full of determined Doreen, not unicorn farts and gnome tears with extra sparkle. We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area.

Post your stats and add your dates. A more lovely, supportive group of ladies you couldn't wish to meet. We've got a few grads sticking around I won't leave and no question is too daft. We have opk experts, cervical mucus management teams and symptom spotters extraudinaire!

No idea what is going on with me today. Had a big BBT jump (0.5 degrees) and having very light brown bleeding. Not enough for a pad, just wiping but constant and did start off red. I'm only 4dpo according to FF but i think i'm probably 6dpo going by opks. Still far too early for another period though surely? It only stopped 13 days ago!! I think it's too much and too soon for any kind of implantation bleed though. My resting heart rate is also rising daily and has gone from 55 to 59 over 4days. If it weren't for the bleeding i'd be deffo thinking i am pregnant.

Whatever it is, i hope it makes itself clear pretty soon. I suspect i am still screwed up from the mc though sadly. My fertile signs didn't quite line up nicely and the temp rise was later than expected (hence FF / OPK discrepancy).

geeup there are various websites but I found this a good source:
nicolejardim.com/lengthen-your-luteal-phase/

As well as trying to fit in some of those foods I'm taking 1000mg vit c, zinc and a b-complex which has 50g b6 and 50g b12 (I take 2 a day).

Peaches8Posies · 08/06/2016 20:15

Congrats sky Grin

Hopefully that's us on a little run again......

Af has left the building so time to start dtd again, although in this heat it can be a bit of a thought Confused kwick fx crossed for you. Have you booked an appointments yet?

Think my OH is the complete opposite to many of you girls OHs. Mine is literally up for it all the time. It's me who is usually putting the brakes on things. When I got my bfp we literally just went for it the whole month, every other day then around my fertile window every day. When I told him that had passed he was actually relived think for the first time ever I wore him out haha. I think if you girls just keep it fairly regular so it's not really obvious when your peak days are then maybe it would be less of a pressure for your OHs? Men can be strange at times......

sucha interesting symptoms your having. Hope you can enjoy your holiday though, but your right hormones are wicked at times. Im sure playing with a 3 year old will be great practice for you for the future Smile

geeup · 08/06/2016 20:06

geeup · 08/06/2016 20:05

Hi wingingit - would you mind me asking what you're using to try to extend your luteal phase? Kale, walnuts, anything else? I need all the help I can get... 33 yo, ttc #1 for a year, slight MFI issues maybe, waiting for a lap and dye (for anyone that doesn't know me). Thanks.

WingingIt83 · 08/06/2016 17:01

My test date is 12th but have decided not to until at least 15th Hmm

Hello chaps how are you all doing?

Hurrah for the long awaited bfp! Congratulations skylucy SmileStarFlowersHalo wishing you a happy healthy 8/9 months ahead!

I'm on cd 20, 5 DPO. Still on hols, still super anxious Sad not sure if this might be hormone related too.

I've had mega sore boobs from 1 DPO - too early to be pg so assuming just post ovulation hormones too? Don't usually hurt this early, I'm having to wear a soft bra at night, and blocking my 3 year cousin when she jumps on me!

Welcome snarky Smile

Sorry can't shed light on the temping Hank, did you manage to work out what's happening?

Sorry to hear about the DTD problems, I think different times of the day definitely helps us. Straight from getting in from work is a good one.

Who's next to test ? I'll dust off the much neglected list ( Kat would you like it back yet...)

WingingIt83 · 08/06/2016 16:29

moose we solved that issue near end of my FW by dtd early in the morning where his subconscious was kicking things into action but his brain was too tired to think about the pressure he was under! No idea why it worked but evenings and before bed were hopeless.

Mooseville · 08/06/2016 16:12

LOL. Oooh folic acid, you must get back to her and get more details. I'm not sure any of us on here have heard of that one! Hmm

I am completely stealing the giving the DP the fertility app and putting him in charge! I do think the pressure of me just piping up, right now a the time, adds a bit more stress to him when he's already anxious. Maybe this will get him mentally prepared....
This month after him not being in the mood to do it last month at fertile time, this month we had a lot of DTD but most of the time he struggled to finish. He then got pretty upset about it and I had to comfort him, difficult when you're pissed off about it and having to pretend not to be!!! I can understand it must be hard, it's just annoying that for years they've managed with no problems until now it actually means something!!!! Aaargh!!

SkyLucy · 08/06/2016 14:45

Thanks for all the congrats, so nice to see them, particularly as it's only me and DH in the whole wide real world who know! Had a family dinner for my Ma's birthday last night and got weird looks for sticking to cranberry juice, was tricky not to squeal the news.

Hope you don't mind me popping back BTW - been on a pg thread and posted a few stupidly naive questions, but don't feel I really belong there either...!

Welcome Snarky - can't believe your friend asked that! What is this 'folic acid' of which you speak..? Starky, yep, I'm bloody boiling. I'm at my desk in London - proper end of the world weather here! Bring back summer! Hank - yep, EWCM was a rare beast for me, which is why I jumped on DH when I thought I saw it! Absolutely no 'routing around' for me, I'm hideously squeamish. (This whole preggers/birth thing should be an absolute doddle then Shock).

kwick · 08/06/2016 14:39

Welcome snarky!!!
Hmmm I may have made a similar comment to a work colleague who is trying to get pregnant - ie "let me know if you want any tips on things to do" - damn I hope I did not come across as sanctimonious Hmm

And yet again after reading posts I feel lucky to have donor magic potion... Grin even if it does mean I am all alone and do not get joy of chukka chukka

Still no fricking AF AngryAngryAngryAngry

kavanaughkj · 08/06/2016 14:35

I'm on cycle 6 of TTC, purple, and I'm 37. The usual advice I've heard is that GPs will see you after 6 months of TTC if you're over 35, or they advise you to keep trying for a year before you see them if you're under 35, so if I'm not upduffed in a couple of weeks time I will be calling my GP. No idea how long it'll take before I get an appointment but at least I'll feel like I'm doing something ... I'm worried I have a blocked tube or something.

Good luck with that wait, Wingingit! If you can make it you're a stronger lady than I've ever proven to be >_

WingingIt83 · 08/06/2016 13:42

Just checking in again -congratulations sky that's fantastic!

kava you've pretty much described my exact issue with DH! We missed dtd in the 3 days before ov for that reason.

I'm googled foods to each to lengthen a short luteal cycle so am now shovelling extra vitamins down and eating lots of kale and walnuts and other equally appetising things! Had a few days of cramps and nausea but equally can find other explanations for them each time so not getting hopes up.

Going to try and stick to not testing until AF at least 4 days late. ..let's see if I manage that lol!

purpleladybird · 08/06/2016 13:20

Yes a syringe does sound more appealing than a turkey baster!

How long do GPs typical ask you to wait before arranging an appointment? And does it depend on your age?

kavanaughkj · 08/06/2016 12:26

Exactly purple, only I couldn't use a turkey baster! Just the idea that I'd be shoving something up me that I'd normally use while cooking Christmas dinner would put me right off!

I think there's a lot that we assume about TTC that when we come to do it, we realise we'd gotten totally wrong or underestimated the sheer stress involved. You're definitely not alone. I don't think you ever are!

Sorry nicky, I have no clue about progesterone levels. Give me a month or two after seeing the GP and I have no doubt it'll be something I'll be an unexpected expert on, but right now I'm not of much use!

purpleladybird · 08/06/2016 12:10

Kava - do you mean in a turkey baster kind of way? I had consiter it. I'm sorry you and others are having problems with the timing but I am also relieved to know it isn't just me.

nicky883 · 08/06/2016 10:55

Kava i had this problem during the forst months of ttc when i used to tell dh that i am ovulating
Last month (5th cycle) i didnt mention anything at all about ttc and we managed to dtd wvery day for 4 days before ovulation i dont really think we caught it as i dont have any symptoms but we definately did what we could

I need some advice regarding progesterone tests i went privetaly for general blood test and i thought to test my progesterone as well since i will be visiting my gynecologist on friday. It came back as 39 . Does anyone know if that is ok levels i know it can prefuct if you ovulated and the chances of impaltation if conception occured ? I am 8dpo cd21

kavanaughkj · 08/06/2016 10:49

Congrats SkyLucy! What wonderful timing. :) and hi to Snarky too! I'm amazed at your self-control, I think I would have let some of my crazy show if somebody showed the same lack of awareness around me.

Sorry I've not been on much in the last couple of weeks - I've been poking my head in now and then to see if there have been any BFPs, but I've been purposely trying to chill a little and not post so much to get my head out of permanent baby crazy. Had a holiday last week which was lovely and for the first time in a while, I have no clue what DPO I am, assuming I O'd at all! It's a weird sensation - I haven't peed on a single stick this month and stopped taking my temps from the first day of my last AF - the result being that I feel far more chilled, but I don't think that anything more will come of it. I've just been using cervical fluid as a prompt when to DTD - which we managed a lot of from Wednesday last week, but typically, the day I figured was probably going to be O day, DH had problems again.

I'm getting a tad paranoid now. This is becoming a pattern. DH can manage to DTD fine a few days before O day, but the day before it (or the actual day) he's either ill, or tired, not in the mood, loses concentration ... resulting in me not being able to DTD during what is probably the most crucial time window. Happened again yesterday morning and then this morning (when I wanted to catch what I think could be the last chance this month) he's too tired. And yet at other times of the month (when I want to sleep or something) he's cuddled up behind me in bed nudging me to put me in the mood! So frustrating. It's like - when I want it, he doesn't, and vice versa - I think it's partially performance anxiety and I don't think it helps him to know it's my fertile window, but that tends to be when I jump him and I don't think I can just hide it.

Oh well. If it doesn't take this month I'm going to the GP for advice anyway. I'm also thinking of investing in a few medicine syringes and see if I can't just get the job done myself! Who'd have thought it would be so difficult to get the hubby to jump me! >_

SnarkyGorgon · 08/06/2016 08:52

Many thanks for the top tip 5tar now I can at least pretend I'm not a total noob Wink

Hank, Marmite I know right, it's been a total revelation -smacks self in the forehead-

Got my fx for you purple this weird Schrodinger stage is the worst, so many opportunities to obsess like a lunatic. I'm finding this heat is throwing a major curveball in my symptom spotting madness. I've had dry mouth for the last 3 day- pg or just hot?! Weird puffy nips - pg or hot?! Headaches.... Etc etc etc.

AliceScarlett · 08/06/2016 08:37

I appear to have follicular phase MN avoidance Hmm I'm here with AF pain on cd 21. Meh.

marmitetoast1 · 08/06/2016 08:29

Welcome Snarky! Ha, that is hilarious... oooh really? you mean it's worth figuring out when my fertile days are? Jeez!! Shock

Boiling here, v impressive thunder and lightning storm and torrential rain last night! Quite cool watching it from bed in the dark with curtains and windows open!

Didn't manage to dtd last night. Poor DH in a fairly miserable way. Hoping for miraculous recovery by tonight??!

Hope you're not in limbo for too much longer purple...

I'm also interested to hear how DH in driving seat goes. Reckon mine would quite enjoy being in charge of that! Trying not to be really pointed about fw at the moment though to avoid any performance anxiety. Although my frustration with him being under the weather might be making it obvious! Hmm

HankPeach · 08/06/2016 08:18

ha snarky and 5tar I proper LOL'd at that. Folic acid you say? Fascinating...

purple good luck on the wait out and Fx. Could you have Ov'd late? Limbo is a pretty frustrating place to hang out in. Find a vice for a friend and keep us updated here!

I'm feeling like a bit of a Debbie downer today. First month temping, whopping positive opk, but no real temp rise to speak of. Literally 0.1 of a Celsius. Anyone with more experience of temping got advice?
I'm clinging to hope of being slow bbt riser but the neon sign points to anovulatory....Confused

purpleladybird · 08/06/2016 07:50

Thanks bluebird Since I've been paying any attention (so around a year) cycles have been 30 or 37 days. So cd35 and no AF isn't unusual at all, but because I peaked on cd16 I was expecting a shorter cycle and boobs have been hurting for over a week now and it's normally a max of a week between boobs and AF. But what do we say about trusting boobs...

Now I've done a HPT with FMu I am just going to wait it out until at least the weekend.

bluebird3 · 08/06/2016 06:51

Is that a normal cycle length purpleladybird? If it's 20 dpo I think you're still in with a chance. Some people don't have a positive on a hpt for a couple of weeks.

And do let me know how dh in the drivers seat goes. My dh would never do it though. Tbh I don't think he's really bothered about having kids either way and is only going along with it now for me. Which means he doesn't even have that motivation to drive him. I think he's most driven by wanting to avoid a SA which I keep pestering him to go do...and he will be if this cycle fails as well.
