Anyone done or doing Clomid/ovidrel/IUI?

Would love to hear from anyone taking this route ttc. I'm DOR and dh has low morphology but an amazing count and motility. So whenever af shows up in two weeks or so I'm starting Clomid, then doing a hcg trigger injection and then IUI. Hoping for success getting 2-3 good eggs to drop and putting the swimmers practically next to them!

Ack Maple sorry that they cancelled it, but better safe than sorry

maplebaby · 31/08/2016 17:57

Hope the next week goes quickly for you snowy!

Thanks friends - they cancelled it unfortunately as blood tests showed I had 4 mature follicles and as I'm 30, the risk of them all taking were too high. I'm really disappointed but equally understand why they don't want to risk it.

Next cycle they will half the dose!

friends123 · 31/08/2016 15:38

Good luck snowy! I hope the next week goes quick and it ends with a BFP for you.

Yay Maple, great news about your lining! I hope some of your follicles go back down so you can proceed this month still.

snowy1982 · 31/08/2016 08:04

Officially half way through the TWW and keeping my fingers crossed that the next week flies by

snowy1982 · 30/08/2016 14:13

Getting on fine Maple still a bit twingey though and have been a bit of an emotional wreck today, don't know if thats still the trigger shot working on me or if i am just being a moody cow for no good reason Grin

Dizzybintess · 30/08/2016 13:51

I will be starting a 2 month course on day 2 of my next cycle. I used them for my daughter 5 years ago and it worked on cycle 2

maplebaby · 30/08/2016 13:45

Snowy I didn't have any twinges.. I don't think I have had ovulation cramps before and rarely get AF cramps so i might not be a good person to ask! How are you getting on now?

Update from me is that I responded a bit too well to the injectibles - had 10 follicles! Just had some urgent blood tests done as they should give them more of an idea of how many are actually "ripe" - I'm praying only 3 out of the 10 Confused otherwise they will cancel.
Good news was that my lining was 7.6mm though which is the thickest it's ever been!

snowy1982 · 27/08/2016 17:57

Question for the group, has anyone ever experienced twinges post IUI? Their not cramps, actually feel like ovulation pains although not as strong and on both sides rather than one.

Don't know if it's something good, something bad or nothing at all

maplebaby · 25/08/2016 19:49

I hope your appointment comes round quickly! I know what you mean about making plans - equally you don't want to stop doing things though! I'm sure you'll have more of an idea after the appointment.

Injectibles are going fine so far - off the clomid now - my lining was so thin last cycle they decided it was better to be on the injectibles and supplement with oestrogen if needed.

With the CB OPKs it says test with first morning urine. Could you use cheapies too? You could get a surge in the evening!

friends123 · 25/08/2016 19:15

Hey maple,
My first appointments is the 20th September, I'm scared and excited all at the same time. I will be on cycle day 10 then roughly so I'm hoping I could start by the October cycle or maybe it will be the November one. Life feels like its at a stand still at the minute, I don't want to make plans just in case...
How are you finding the injections? Have you stopped taking the Clomid?

I'm on cycle day 14 and still not had a peak smiley. Does it advise testing at night as well? I can't find the instructions. I'm trying to work out timings because DH is on long days, so he would be grateful if he could avoid it tonight. ;-)

I've also bought a mooncup in a last ditch attempt, things we do hey.

Good luck for this month everyone.

snowy1982 · 25/08/2016 18:52

They ended up having to use a steel one and doc said if I have to get it done again to tell them to use the steel, boy was it cold. If it works it was all worth it though

maplebaby · 25/08/2016 17:58

Oh snowy Sad this better be the month for you!!!

snowy1982 · 25/08/2016 17:30

It was a tad sore Sad

maplebaby · 25/08/2016 16:55

Snowy hope it didn't hurt when it broke!

Broody I'm afraid I went from one month of clomid straight onto injectibles so I'm not sure. Sorry to sound patronising - but you def havent ovulated? Are you temping? I would speak to your consultant / clinic.

broodypsycho · 25/08/2016 15:57

Anyone came off clomid and then had a problem ovulating? I ovulated before clomid then ovulated on it and now 2 month after it I haven't ovulated Sad

snowy1982 · 25/08/2016 13:37

I have no idea maple, doc but it in and it snapped inside me, scared the life out of me

maplebaby · 25/08/2016 11:48

Yay snowy! How did you break the speculum?!

Friends glad you are feeling a lot better off the clomid - any idea when your IVF appointment will be?

Thomasina have a lovely time on holiday! Sounds perfect - how long are you going for? They put me on 75iu Merional and will supplement with oestrogen if necessary. Have my next scan on Tuesday (not open on bank holiday) so I'm stabbing for 8 days in total!

Thomasina76 · 25/08/2016 11:23

Good luck Snowy - I so hate the 2WW.

Maple, what injectibles are they giving you? Curious about any alternatives to clomid which we have ruled out for the time being.

Friends, where are you in your cycle?

So, we are off on holiday tomorrow. We are going to Corsica and cannot wait to sun myself, read and spend time with the kids and, of course, get up to lots of BD (which may be a bit difficult in a tiny apartment with 4 kids). We will be away for ovulation so not chance to do anything this month but have ordered a tube of pre-conceive, that cought medicine they recommend for CM and evening primose oil, plus a stack of OPK kits. At least I will have time to monitor ovulation and DTD at exactly the right time, not that it seems to help!! I have made an appointment at another fertility clinic (Centre Reproductive and Genetic Health) which seems to get good IUI rates and is a lot cheaper than where we did the first IUI last month. So we will see. Have decided I am giving myself until Christmas until I really panic! Just wish we knew what it was other than just age so that we could deal with it. Everything looks good so have to assume it's just egg quality as I am now 40.

Good luck everyone. Really hope we see some good news on this thread very soon.

snowy1982 · 24/08/2016 14:04

So IUI is done, count was good, 30mil, and everything seemed to go well (except for the fact that I broke the speculum)

friends123 · 24/08/2016 14:03

Good luck today Snowy. I've just nipped home on my dinner hour. Needs must Grin.

Maple, good luck with the injectables, it seems that you have a really good clinic. I hope this is your month.
I'm just playing the waiting game now until my IVF appointment. I haven't took the Clomid this month and I feel great. They certainly didn't agree with me. I've had two flashing smileys too, so that makes me feel better.
Thomasina, I've not really had any experience of the fertilaid either. The only one I see mentioned is the proxeed. I only take folic acid & evening primrose oil ( pre-ovulation.)

snowy1982 · 24/08/2016 09:04

Ahhh, it's IUI day!!! DH is in at 10:30 and I'm in at 11:30, unfortunately with work schedules today we can't even go and keep each other company, most unromantic baby making attempt ever I think Grin

Thanks Maple don't know what was going on this cycle, doc thought they was a good chance I would have ovulated on my own (it was only day 12 after all) but with my follicle and lining looking so good they didn't want to take the risk. Am totally over the exam now, can't do anything other than wait and see. Had someone viewing the house yesterday and their coming back tomorrow for another look so that sounds positive

maplebaby · 23/08/2016 22:22

Snow goodness I wonder what happened with that cycle!

Snowy sorry the exam didn't go as well as you hoped but at least it's one thing down and you can concentrate on the house and TTC! I wonder why you didn't ovulate this month when you do normally - although I think it's normal to have the odd anovulatory cycle. Thinking of you tomorrow.

Thomasina jealous of your holiday - where are you off to? I'm afraid I have no experience with fertilaid!

AFM the scan yesterday went well and I am on injectibles! Hooray! 75iu of Merional until Monday and a scan on Tuesday. Just did my first shot myself and it wasn't too bad at all - just some stinging. I was also really pleased that they said they would supplement with oestrogen pessaries if my lining was still thin so I'm feeling more positive this cycle! Just have the usual anxieties of having to sneak away from work to have all my appointments!

snowy1982 · 22/08/2016 18:53

Well I went back to clinic this afternoon, blood tests confirm I haven't ovulated so they have given me the trigger shot to do this evening and we are booked in for IUI on Wednesday. Have no idea why my ovulation isn't happening on its own this month
