Would love to hear from anyone taking this route ttc. I'm DOR and dh has low morphology but an amazing count and motility. So whenever af shows up in two weeks or so I'm starting Clomid, then doing a hcg trigger injection and then IUI. Hoping for success getting 2-3 good eggs to drop and putting the swimmers practically next to them!

Thanks ladies. I feel so anxious at the minute. I feel like I've totally lost all my pregnancy symptoms. I no longer have sore blobs etc and I'm so stressed about it.

Mrs Unsure. How you getting on? Stupid question I know. Hopefully you will get some answers on your next consultantation. I hope things start looking up for you and you get some positive news soon.

Good luck with the IUI snowy!! Can't remember the size they use last time? My fingers are crossed for you.

Russkipy. Good luck with the Clomid, strangely I got my BFP, the month after I stopped taking it.
Good luck to you all.

IUI done. Took 3 different size/types of speculum until they found one that 'fit' me, feel like the goldilocks of fertility treatment Sad have been warned to expect tenderness and some bleeding over the next couple of days as my cervix 'took a bit of a battering'. On the other hand apparently DH sample was excellent, 20.4m post wash and quality was really really good. All I can do now is sit back and keep my fingers crossed

snowy1982 · 21/09/2016 06:58

IUI no 2 today, really hoping I don't break the speculum again this time (and that it works obviously Smile)

Oh those moments in the rooms for DHs! Mine did it once and we were laughing too especially when he tried a dvd and broke the DVD player! Tried to fix it and Couldn't concentrate for a while after that but did the business in the end! Told him not to touch anything in the room next time but himself. Ahem, pardon the pan 😃😃

snowy1982 · 19/09/2016 14:08

Only 1 follicle (or only one that they mentioned anyway) but am not taking any medication so one is ok. DH will be giving me injection tonight, he's used to them as he had a bad leg break a few years ago and got lots of practice with injecting himself to stop blood clots. I'll be on my own on Wednesday, but it doesn't bother me, it's just like going for a more uncomfortable scan. DH has to go in an hour before me to do his part and he would lose too much time out of work if he waited for me. We were laughing the last time about how it was the most unromantic baby making ever, we weren't even in the same town

Russkispy · 19/09/2016 13:36

How many follicles? Are you triggering it yourself? Fingers and toes are crossed for you! Good luck for Wednesday! Is anybody coming with you? Hope you're not alone

snowy1982 · 19/09/2016 11:15

So had scan this morning, follicle measures 22mm and lining is apparently perfect. Have IUI booked for 11 on Wednesday and triggering tonight

Russkispy · 19/09/2016 07:24

Took my first Clomid last night. Been having mixed feelings about it. And if this cycle BFN, do I carry on taking Clomid or just try naturally, unmediated and no IUI? Or do I take Clomid but no IUI? I think I'm over analyzing it all. And still debating whether to tell dad or not. DH will be flying over next weekend and I hope IUI will be on Saturday/Sunday, so I'm not completely alone. He then is flying home on Monday. But if IUI scheduled past next weekend, I've got nobody with me. I'm already having rubbish time as in a way dreading going home as memories of mum are hitting me hard. Big sigh. Trying to stay stress free. Got my next acupuncture on Tuesday. And these things are so expensive. Does it help me in terms of fertility? Not sure, but she says I'm in a much better place now, fertility wise. Hmmmm will have a chat with her tomorrow. Flying home and to the clinic on Wednesday. It will be CD8 and 4 days of taking Clomid then.

Julia, how are you getting on?

Snowy, good luck for today! Let us know how how it went toda. Fx for you!

That is amazing news friends congratulations Smile

friends123 · 16/09/2016 15:14

Hi ladies,
Sorry I haven't been on for a while. I just wanted to say I'm so sorry for your loss Mrs unsure and also on your failed cycle snowy.

I just wanted to give you an update, last week, a week before my IVF appointment I discovered I was pregnant. I still can't believe it after so long. I'm currently 5 weeks. ( They count from the 1st day of your last period) It's still early days I know and I'm so scared. Good luck with this cycle snowy and everyone else doing treatment. X

Russkispy · 16/09/2016 12:54

Hope they grow more over the weekend and you're ready for Monday. where are you based? Take it you're doing it privately?

snowy1982 · 16/09/2016 10:49

Well I'm on day 8 and have a follicle at 14mm, have to start OPK and am booked in for another scan on Monday and (if nothing happens by Monday) they will give me trigger

Russkispy · 16/09/2016 08:37

Good luck snowy! Hope it goes well

snowy1982 · 16/09/2016 08:14

PS am just about to go for first monitoring scan of cycle 2 so going to discuss nurses suggestion with consultant

snowy1982 · 16/09/2016 08:12

Thomasina yip, I ovulate naturally so they recommended unmedicated i.e. no clomid. Our issues are mechanical (I guess you would put it). But last cycle, even though follicle and lining did their job naturally for some reason actual ovulation seemed problematic. It may have just been late but they decided not to risk it (since follicle and lining were so good) and gave me a trigger. The nurse said I might want to think about doing a medicated cycle just to cover all bases, so if this next natural one doesn't work we might do that. But, like yourself, I am wary of it as don't want to be taking drugs if I don't need them and don't want to risk multiple (although DH thinks their a great idea lol)

Thomasina76 · 15/09/2016 22:24

Sorry, meant to say, "we are gutted as we definitely covered our bases . . ."

Thomasina76 · 15/09/2016 22:23

Hi all, reporting in. AF arrived yesterday, a day early as we most definitely covered our bases and DTD every day for 2 weeks solid over ovulation and still nothing. Seeing a new consultant tomorrow and will hopefully get booked in for another (our second) unmedicated IUI this cycle.

Snowy, do ovulate naturally but were still recommended to try medicated IUI (with clomid). I ovulate naturally so wondering whether clomid would help in this case. Seems a bit pointless taking it and going through all the side effects if I already ovulate, PLUS, we really don't want multiples.

snowy1982 · 15/09/2016 07:08

I assume it would be with clomid but clinic hasn't actually told me the name of the drugs I'd be taking

Russkispy · 14/09/2016 23:34

Thank you, snowy! That's been very helpful! I've also sent an email to the clinic about and awaiting response.
When you say medicated, did you mean with Clomid?
So many things about IUI and IVF, trying to keep on top of things

snowy1982 · 14/09/2016 21:46

I do unmedicated IUI, although ended up having to have trigger shot, so not sure how it works with clomid. But the way it worked with me, they monitored my follicle development and gave the trigger based on size not on a particular date. Ended up triggering the evening of day 12 and IUI 36 hours later. Initially was supposed to be 100% natural IUI, but my follicle got quite big and I didn't ovulate naturally (first time ever if previous OPK are anything to go by) so they decided to trigger instead of waiting. Trying one more natural (possibly with trigger) cycle and if doesn't work will move to medicated. I didn't have to scan after IUI, just waited and then POAS, but again I don't know if that is different with clomid

Russkispy · 14/09/2016 13:40

Trying to find out if I'll need to do another scan after IUI? Does anybody know? Also is trigger shot done on day 10-11? I'll be taking Clomid 5-9 days. And US on 10-11 days. And wondering if they will do it on 10-11? And IUI 24-36 hours later, I read. Because I'm doing it abroad, wondering I can fly back 2 days after IUI instead of a week later. What do you think?

Julia2016 · 14/09/2016 10:25

I probably shouldn't be drinking at all but I just wanted to keep normal through this. I don't usually have much but I have been on a few nights out where I've had plenty.

I think it's good to "treat" yourself, whether that is a cup of tea, chocolate or doing anything that puts a smile on your face. I've really enjoyed sitting with a glass of wine and cuddling the cat!
