Anyone done or doing Clomid/ovidrel/IUI?

Would love to hear from anyone taking this route ttc. I'm DOR and dh has low morphology but an amazing count and motility. So whenever af shows up in two weeks or so I'm starting Clomid, then doing a hcg trigger injection and then IUI. Hoping for success getting 2-3 good eggs to drop and putting the swimmers practically next to them!

I know it's hard work but we all will get there one way or another and with today's medicine, pretty much everything becomes possible! I'm a true believer!

geeup · 11/10/2016 10:50

I will keep you posted!! Feeling positive and ready to get DTDing hopefully with an extra folly or 2!

Russkispy · 11/10/2016 08:51

Forgot to mention that HCG and progesterone blood tests were done yesterday which was on CD27, 14dpo.
Acupuncturist told me who is ok Clomid, ideally to get 3 follicles but 2 is very good. And I hope that's the news you would hear on Saturday! Keep us posted! Good luck!!!

geeup · 11/10/2016 08:26

Wow that must be amazing. Congrats again.
I'm CD10 after takin Clomid for the first time. Have a scan on Saturday to find out if I have any extra follies and to check my lining as suggested in this thread. Planning to DTD eod but have to avoid 24 hrs before my smear on Friday (fun). Need the smear test results before I can be referred for IVF so want everything up to date. Good luck everyone.

Thank you, geeup!!

Want to make it more "believable" for myself and hold something tangible in my hands!!! So found a Boots pregnancy cheapie test and took it this morning. It's BFP!!!! I can now say as we use all these abbreviations. It's a BFP for me!! Oh wow!! DH is still very much over the moon!!!

Wow that is amazing! Well done you both!

Russkispy · 10/10/2016 21:55

He did 2 SA, one last year and one a year later, both came fine. And after "washing" and preparation, motility of his sperm was 88%, which apparently was very very good, the doc said.

geeup · 10/10/2016 21:43

Ah that's interesting. As far as you were aware was your OHs sperm ok then?

Russkispy · 10/10/2016 21:34

Thanks geeup! We haven't been medically "declared" as infertile! We've only been trying for 5 months and decide to "give" it a little boost/nudge, by taking Clomid and IUI. I'm 40 and DH41 and didn't want to try for 6-12 months and decided for an assisted IUI

geeup · 10/10/2016 21:23

That's brilliant Russ. Congrats. Did you have unexplained or anything you knew of against you?

PurpleRainy · 10/10/2016 20:37

CongratsGrin

Hola lovely ladies, had my HCG and progesterone blood tests today and results came to me after 3 hours! With a little message:

Please find attached your results which are indicative of a positive pregnancy test. You can print this PDF file and pass to your GP/Midwife team.
NORMAL Progesterone levels during pregnancy:
1st trimester (weeks 1-12):
32.6-140 nmol/L

And my progesterone level - 131.9
And HCG - 100.9

I can not believe it! And still can't believe it!!! I'm in shock, I think!!!
Called my clinic in Riga, chatted with my nurse (told me to carry on with my vitamins which I'm still taking after IUI), and then with my acupuncturist! DH is over the moon!
And I thought AF was coming as boobs became sooooo sore a couple of days ago! And nipples are sooooo sensitive! Don't even know dpos when I felt it as I've stopped following and monitoring symptoms. I haven't even POAS!
My next HCG and progesterone blood tests are on Wednesday. Will report then.

Ok, so I am 12 DPO today and did a HPT and got a BFN. Not surprised but still very low. Just have a feeling it isn't going to work. Consultant did say that unmedicated IUI doesn't increase your chances much over trying naturally. Not sure whether it's worth doing a third unmedicated cycle. Just seems pointless. Maybe it really is time to give up.

PurpleRainy · 06/10/2016 08:41

Sorry wrong thread

PurpleRainy · 06/10/2016 00:27

Still positive hopefully the egg hasnt released yet!

thanks Snowy but I don't think there is line. DH says not anyway! Preparing for disappointment, again! Hugs. x

snowy1982 · 05/10/2016 21:29

Thomasina they say the trigger is out of your system after 10 days, but it was out of mine in 5 so you never know, it could be the real thing. My clinic says to be absolutely sure wait 14 days so just try again in 3 days. I'll keep my fingers tightly crossed Smile

Thomasina76 · 05/10/2016 17:24

Hi Geeup. I'm a bit late but I think most clinics insist you have a consultation before they book you into any treatment. Guess they want to take all your history etc. My clinic also insisted on a base line scan on day 2 or 3 and if we missed that then they wouldn't do that cycle. Important to be safe. Doesn't clomid need to be monitored

Snowy, sorry you are feeling pessimistic. I am also in the purgatory that is the two week wait. Stupidly did a HPT earlier and have convinced myself there could be the faintest faintest line, so faint I am not even sure it's there. I am 11 DP trigger so if there is anything then it's probably just that. So silly of me to test - did it before and it was just trigger. I also have weird metallic taste in my mouth no doubt caused by the progesterone tablets. Am pretty sure I am not pregnant. Like you, I hope I can get away with a small mope then onto the next cycle. Will also be our 3rd.

snowy1982 · 05/10/2016 14:10

My first two cycles I only had trigger injection (no drugs to stimulate egg growth) so I went for scans on day 9 to check size, then again 3 days later then they gave me trigger injection.

Wouldn't say am feeling positive (I have had the month from hell with work and seem to have a dog suffering from PTSD due to fireworks, so add the BFN to the mix and it ain't pretty) but I do have a plan and after a day or two to have a wee mope I'll be back on the positivity track

geeup · 05/10/2016 12:35

Sorry to hear you don't think it's worked snowy but great you're feeling positive and have a plan for your third one.
Re full scan monitoring I meant my doctor wanted me to have a scan between days 11-14 to see how my follicles were maturing (and to check there weren't too many) but as he can't fit me in, I'm taking the clomid anyway (without telling him). I know it's bad but it sounds like other people in other postcodes are prescribed it without scans so hoping it's ok.

snowy1982 · 05/10/2016 09:53

What do you mean by full scan monitoring?

Well i POAS this morning and cycle 2 of IUI is a bust. Going straight into 3rd cycle only going for a stimulated cycle instead of a natural one this time, its the last of my batch of three so thought it might be good to up the stakes a bit.

geeup · 05/10/2016 08:53

Thanks snowy. Have decided to go ahead and take the clomid without the scans. Probably against my dr's advice but with low morphology risk of multiples is almost never going to happen and I'm just hoping I don't get OHSS but at only 50mg dose, that's fairly low risk too. Interested if you're all getting the full scan monitoring?

snowy1982 · 05/10/2016 08:07

It's worth making enquiries, but i think it would be unlikely. I know when I went there were certain blood tests they are likely required to do before starting, so at the very least it would depend on how quickly they can do them

geeup · 03/10/2016 12:48

Hi all from a long time lurker. Apologies for butting in out of the blue but am desperate! I know a few of you from other threads so hi again to you! I wondered if any of you could please give me some advice. I've been ttc #1 for c 18 mths and was due to start clomid on cd3 tomorrow. Just called my NHS clinic as requested to book in for my follicle scans and they can't fit me in and told me I can't start this month - livid!
I have tried calling a couple of clinics to see if they would either do the follicle scans for me or potentially we could do a full IUI but expect it's somewhat unlikely as I'm CD2 today and obviously haven't had consultations and tests etc with these clinics (except Create where I had an MOT a year ago). Is this a ridiculous goose chase or do you think a clinic could get you going on an IUI cycle when first contact was on CD2? Thank you in advance.

snowy1982 · 29/09/2016 16:58

I imagine they would check your Fallopian tubes for any blockages, scan for things like scar tissue on uterus, then either IUI or IVF depending on any other issues your may have (if you have seen my history on this, DH and are had excellent test results for everything, but he has issues with 'finishing' though sex, great for a good time not so good for TTC) so they thought IUI would work for us)
