Would love to hear from anyone taking this route ttc. I'm DOR and dh has low morphology but an amazing count and motility. So whenever af shows up in two weeks or so I'm starting Clomid, then doing a hcg trigger injection and then IUI. Hoping for success getting 2-3 good eggs to drop and putting the swimmers practically next to them!

Im a nurse and a pushy cowGrin

geeup · 20/11/2016 15:39

You're lucky you got clomid so quick. Took me months of tests to get it!

FluffyEwok · 20/11/2016 09:38

Im cycle 13 x

geeup · 20/11/2016 00:36

I'm in cycle 19, my 2nd with clomid...

FluffyEwok · 19/11/2016 17:21

Hello were not doing iui just clomid then straight to ivf if doesnt work. My trust only does bloods for clomid no scans as i said im not overly impressed. How long have you all been trying for?

geeup · 19/11/2016 17:12

Yes I'm doing clomid with scans around ovulation to check for number of follys and to check lining. Onthe wait list for IVF so killing time and praying for an ironidiff!

Thomasina76 · 19/11/2016 15:51

Thanks geeup, for being so positive. Just had the IUI. Sperm sample great BUT, there was late doing it. DH "produced" the sample at 11.40 and the IUI was supposed to be at 1.30 but they were running late and it didn't happen until 2.15. Worried as everything I read says the IUI has to be within 2 hours of the semen production. I managed to get really worked up and stressed about it all and to just have a huge row with DH. So tired of this process. Everyone is saying to be positive but I just can't be. I think this is it for us - taking too much of a toll emotionally. Geeup, are you taking clomid but not doing IUI? Are you having any monitoring? Wondering if this might be an option for us. Can't face keeping trying IUIs with no results but could keep taking clomid to increase chances.

Welcome Fluffyewok! Good luck with the IUIs! Think they can work, they just aren't for us and we don't know why other than age. Think they are way more successful in younger couples. Good luck anyway!

Hello all I see to have found my people!
I've done four rounds of clomid no ov on 50 or 100 but ov on two rounds of 150 but no pregnancy. Had a hycosy last month and decided to take a break. Started provera to bring a period on this month and will start my clomid again. Got three rounds left!
I want to be postive but I do think well end up with ivf. I'm not the most patient and I find the hospital I'm at crap tbh so we will go private. See a deal for two rounds of ivf for 3500 and we've got 1700 saved already x

geeup · 18/11/2016 15:44

Good luck thomasina. There's so much to be positive about. For the first time you'll have two eggs, and you'll know the sperm was definitely in the right place at the right time. I'm currently considering doing IUI while i wait for my IVF referral so learning as much as possible from you guys! Second round of clomid and on 2ww...

Thomasina76 · 18/11/2016 14:11

Ok, so was scanned on Thursday and just had another one. 2 follicles which are both 24mm each and lining is 9.5mm. Today is CD10. Dr said we can't wait any longer, so have me trigger ready for IUI tomorrow. She was trying to convince me to stop stressing and be positive that this will work but really can't feel that positive about it after so many failures. That said, there are 2 mature follicles this month so we have doubled our chances although I think we are still only looking at a 15% chance of success this month, max. Urgghh!!!

snowy1982 · 17/11/2016 11:08

Yeah, when I was medicated they scanned every other day, they keep a much closer eye on things

Thomasina76 · 16/11/2016 15:28

Tomorrow. Guess that want to see how quickly they're growing. At this rate though it looks like we'll do the IUI on Friday or Saturday which are only CD10 and 11. I thought the dr said they wouldn't do it until CD11 at the earliest. Just hope some of my symptoms subside. Feel all over the place with clomid.

Russkispy · 16/11/2016 15:27

Thomasina, fx and toes crossed doe you! Keep us posted!

snowy1982 · 16/11/2016 15:18

When is your next scan?

Thomasina76 · 16/11/2016 15:00

"No wonder I've been feeling loopy."

Thomasina76 · 16/11/2016 14:59

Congrats Snowy, excellent news re house and good luck with the IVF. At least you can have a few drinks over Christmas.

I am on CD8 today and just had monitoring scan which showed 2 dominant folllices, one 19mm and the other 18mm. Noone I've been feeling loopy. Lining looks good too. In theory we must be doubling our chance as we have two follicles this month instead of one. This disappointment if this doesn't work is going to be horrendous.

snowy1982 · 16/11/2016 06:57

On a positive note, I have found a new house, will hopefully be moving in by March (now just to get my current house sold Smile)

snowy1982 · 16/11/2016 06:56

I only did 1 medicated, my clinic says they don't really see the benefits of me doing another 3 cycles of it. I found my follicles reaction to the drugs odd, at the beginning I had 4 follicles all the same size and worried that it would get cancelled, then 3 of them just seemed to drop away. At the end I only had 1 and it was nowhere near as big as they had been naturally.

I am def going ahead with IVF, just waiting until the new year to start it. Hoping NHS appointment comes through soon and their wait list for IVF isn't long, then if it doesn't work on NHS we have a lost shot going private for it

Thomasina76 · 14/11/2016 22:15

Snowy, how many medicated IUIs did you try? We are on our first medicated and I read that the success rates are highest for the first 3 cycles. I think after 3 we will consider next steps which may be do nothing in our case - not sure we will do IVF. I am on day 4 of taking clomid - has made me go a bit bonkers to say the least. Very curious to see what's going on in there at the scan on Weds. Given that I ovulate naturally, not sure how many follicles we are aiming for. For some reason I feel more hopeful this month as the success rates with medicated are considerably higher. Just wondering why we wasted so much money trying unmedicated. We should've done 1 or 2 max then moved on. Urgggh. good luck all. Hopefully one of us will have some success soon. And congrats again Russkispy.

snowy1982 · 10/11/2016 08:09

Thomasina I know exactly how you feel, we are in the same boat, every cycle seems like perfect conditions but still BFN, it really is heartbreaking Sad

We had a consultation yesterday, clinic is advising going to IVF next, they don't see the point in trying anymore IUI, that for some unknown reason it isn't working for us so we are better off trying something different

Russkispy · 08/11/2016 16:36

Had acupuncture this morning and slept peacefully. And just finished our very first scan! A little babi 15mm long with 170bmp. Heard the heartbeat! And it's only one! No twins! Haha doctor was happy with how things going and develop. NIFTY scan/test is booked in 2 weeks

Thomasina76 · 07/11/2016 22:04

Another quick question - has anyone tried just clomid without the IUI? Just wondering how the success rates compare. Feel like just doing clomid with the IUI this month as so much cheaper and feels like less pressure. Cannot help get my hopes up when every time we see a perfect 23 mm follicle, perfect lining, LH surge, amazing sperm sample then a bit fat BFN. Nothing. Not even a sniff of anything. urgghh.

Thomasina76 · 07/11/2016 22:01

thanks both. I am on CD 26 today. 15 day post IUI. I think we will move onto clomid next month. Maybe we were a bit daft trying unmedicated. Has anyone heard of any successes with unmedicated IUIs in this age group? Just wish we knew what the problem was. I can't get my head around how we both conceived with other partners but can't together. Maybe it is us. Very sad :(

snowy1982 · 07/11/2016 20:48

So sorryThomasina, it's such a horrible feeling Sad. Give yourself a wee break and then think about what you want to do next.

I have a meeting with a consultant on Wednesday to discuss what next

Russkispy · 07/11/2016 20:24

Thomasina, sorry to hear it! Sending you big hugs 💐💐 what cd are you on?
