Anyone done or doing Clomid/ovidrel/IUI?

Would love to hear from anyone taking this route ttc. I'm DOR and dh has low morphology but an amazing count and motility. So whenever af shows up in two weeks or so I'm starting Clomid, then doing a hcg trigger injection and then IUI. Hoping for success getting 2-3 good eggs to drop and putting the swimmers practically next to them!

maple I'll be going on to Clomid/ovidrel/IUI cycle 3 once af shows up. She's two days late so far. I've heard Clomid can mess up your cycle length so I've just got to wait for her to show. It's annoying but I think she will come today some time as I have that feeling.

I count my first full day of bleeding as day 1, per my clinic's definition. So if I start bleeding by noon that's day 1, but if I only spot in the afternoon/evening/overnight then the next day of full bleeding is day 1 if you see what I mean?
Baby bombs suck. Everyone around me is pregnant (well 3 out of my 7 new friends here). It's like this little club I don't have access to as they all seem to be having a blast and I'm on the outside waiting to join.

Julia sorry for AF Sad I spot up to 8 days before AF, in fact I'm 6dpo today and had (tmi) pinky / light brown spotting when I wiped. For me my spotting is always brown and I count cd1 as the day I get fresh, red blood. My flow is super light and only lasts a few days.

Julia2016 · 13/07/2016 08:55

Hi Maple

The spotting was like the start of my usual AF, it has come on fully now.

I know this has probably been discussed a thousand times but what do you ladies count as the first day of your cycle? The first day of spotting or when the flow increases?

maplebaby · 13/07/2016 07:32

Sorry snow I missed your news - Flowers so sorry it didn't work this time Sad are you already going on to the next round?

Negative again. Ugh. I was so hopeful too!

Genghis not long for you to test - have my fingers crossed for you and that the mild cramping is the good kind leading to a BFP!

Snow good luck!! Hope the beta results come through soon!

Julia not to get your hopes up but could the spotting be implantation? Do you normally spot before AF? Sorry your friends weren't being supportive Sad I think it's very difficult for them to understand but you'd expect them to cut you some slack and be a bit more sensitive.

User I'm no expert but sounds like PCOS? I have no experience with it but I think there are some threads with people who are experiencing the same issue with periods? Hope your results come back soon and the dr can shed more light onto it.

Hi
First time using the site so hopefully I've come to the right place..
I have a question and hoping someone is in a similar situation to me.. I have been ttc since Oct 2015 with no luck.. came off rivideon bcp at beginning of October 2015 and had what was thought to be withdrawal bleed and since then every cycle has got longer and longer.. from 28 to 36 to 44 to 59 to 62 now I'm on 74 days with no period in site. I've recently been to my gp who has refered me for blood test and am still waiting on results to test my hormones and rule out any other conditions thyroid ect.. he mentioned referring me to gynecologist but am really unsure of what will happen next.. ttc 2nd child as 1st is 5years 4 months now. Am really getting down about it now as my cycles were what I would call perfect before I took the pill for 5 years.
Has anyone else been where I am before if so what happened to your success ttc.
Thank u very much for reading this

Snowdog37 · 12/07/2016 16:25

Waiting for my beta results. Have been feeling quite sick and shaky all day 😜 I think it's nerves.

I'm out ladies, day 30 yesterday and I'd some spotting, did a test and BFN. Period due on Wednesday, day 33. Didn't get my period until day 33 last month. Feel sad but I'm ok, onwards to month 3. Just wish I hadn't to put up with the hormones. The 2ww would wreck your head. :(

Had a hen at the weekend and I wasn't in the best form, only sipping wine. Get the feeling I ruined it for my friends even though they know my story. They are cool with me. I wouldn't mind but I've supported them in every little thing that's come up for them and I don't talk much about myself but yet when I was off form this once it's an issue, I'm not impressed.

13dpiui

So I'm 3dpiui. No symptoms. Got a bfn yesterday and my beta is tomorrow. I'm fairly sure I am out. But the zero symptoms has me thrown. Feels like I've not ovulated or something. But I must have done with a large follie and the hcg trigger?!

I hope everyone had a nice weekend!

Hooray for getting the medication Maple - it starts making it more real, doesn't it? Hope your 2ww doesn't drag....and also really hope that this will be your lucky cycle!

Hope your 2ww is going well too Star? Did you get an otd, or do they say just wait to see if af turns up? I definitely think you and Maple should do headstands after dtd - I'm sure your DHs would think you were completely sane :)

Absolutely no news from me - have had some mild cramping but usually get that anyway. Here's to hoping this week flies by Wine

maplebaby · 08/07/2016 18:24

Haha maybe! Totally willing to give it a try if I was told it would work!

Yes unassisted is a much better word for it!

Ahh that sucks but you ovulated naturally as you say so you should still be in with the same chance!

Have a great weekend everyone!

star1980 · 08/07/2016 16:14

I have a backwards tilting womb too! Could this be our problem? Should we be doing headstands after sex to get things in the right place?!

Glad you got through it Genghis, that doesn't sound nice.

Fingers crossed for your last unassisted cycle maple (I'd say Clomid was still 'natural' although I don't really care anymore). You've got a good chance with Clomid/iui, so stay positive!

No, my partner came bacj from kings cross boots empty handed. It turned out they had the version of ovitrelle that's a refill that people on ivf use I think and it was the wrong dose. Oh well, I have ovulated and apparently now eating EVERYTHING Grin

Have lovely weekends ladies.

maplebaby · 08/07/2016 13:25

Oh no genghis i hope it wasn't too painful all that prodding! I have a backwards tilting uterus but the consultant didn't think it would affect fertility. Hope they don't have the same issue with me!!

Star did your partner not manage to get the trigger in the end?! What a palava!

I think I might be 1dpo today - last natural cycle before IUI! I went to get my prescription just now but the wait was over an hour and I'm on my lunch break so will collect it on my way home. I'll be on 50mg of clomid and then have a trigger called gonasi.

Looking forward to getting started now even though I'm not holding out much hope of it working!

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 07/07/2016 02:53

The celebrations sound great Snow! I'm the opposite to you - because my doctor will only do the IUI if there's max two follicles, I kept crossing my fingers no more would grow! On one of my scans, one of the smaller ones had started growing too but thankfully stopped (or slowed down - I have no idea :))

Star sorry to read about the stress with your trigger - that's the last thing you needed. Great that you could use the opks though, and fx that it will work. Nice to have a 2ww buddy - I have a feeling it will drag so am trying to find things to occupy myself.

Maple There's always something to worry about isn't there!? I've heard that before about the CB monitors though so try not to worry (easy to say I know). I presume you've already had your estradiol levels tested and your doctor was happy? As for the pineapple - it's my first time trying it but thought, why not? Plus it's tasty!

Thanks for the good wishes! The insemination didn't go quite to plan - tmi warning - my doctor couldn't get into my uterus properly at the start. According to him, I have a really forward facing uterus, so he had to pull it back a bit to get in (lovely!) He was like "I've never seen this before" etc etc and I was lying there, legs akimbo, thinking 'Oh great.' Grin Anyway it was fine in the end but he thinks this could be a cause, or at least a definite factor for our infertility. On the positive side, at least he'll know for next time!

Snowdog37 · 06/07/2016 22:31

I tested out the trigger today at 8dpiui. I don't feel like anything is happening so I'm mentally prepping for next cycle. I didn't even have ovulation cramps this cycle despite a scan showing one nice big follie. I want to move into injectables as Clomid isn't really doing much for me. I'm only producing 1-2 follies and I really want to have 3-4 for a better chance.
4th July was amazing, loads of good food, I had a few drinks, enjoyed socializing and sunshine. The U.K. should start celebrating it too as independence from the USA 😄

star1980 · 06/07/2016 22:13

Hey Genghis, great news about the gonal f. I think I had the same with ovitrelle - my ovary felt so massive! It's the stims I think, and must be much more so with injectables. How was the iui sample? I've read up on the various forms of ovulation induction and you have the very best chance with injectables and iui. Fingers tightly crossed for you!

Well we are tww buddies Genghis as I'm 1dpo today as well. It all went a bit wrong this cycle and I couldn't get hold of ovitrelle before the weekend. So I just got some opks, waited to surge naturally and ovulated last night on cd14. Not holding out much hope this cycle (again) as have had a bit of thrush the last couple of days and don't think that can be very good for sperm!

How's everyone else? Snow, julia, you must be nearly testing?

maplebaby · 06/07/2016 10:08

Lovely to hear from you genghis was wondering how you were getting on! How did the insemination go? Fingers crossed for tww - I've never tried the pineapple thing, maybe I should.

I'm on CD15 today and for the first time in about a year I've tried ovulation sticks this cycle! I got the horrendously expensive clear blue advanced ones and from CD12 to 14 I had the empty circle but this morning it was solid smiley! I was really chuffed but miffed as to why I didn't get flashing smilies - on the instructions it says might have low oestrogen if no flashing smilies - got me worried now as I have thin lining / light periods too!

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 06/07/2016 01:03

Sorry for the silence! Maple I'm so gad your appointment went well - it won't be long coming around!! Also, I hope you had a lovely holiday?

Star I hope the 2ww is going okay for you? All went well with the gonal f - I had no real side effects at all. However, the ovitrelle really knocked my ovaries for six (well it felt like that!) but it was fine, and yesterday I had the insemination. Now to eat pineapple :)

Snow how are you getting on? I hope you enjoyed your 4th July celebrations!

Julia I hope you enjoyed your day! I also drink on the 2ww though I'm currently abstaining as I'm trying to lose a bit of weight.

Broody sorry about af Flowers. Did you make a decision about taking a month off clomid in the end?

Mrs I hope af didn't arrive! Enjoy the acupuncture - I'm quite tempted to start that myself.

maplebaby · 01/07/2016 18:33

Hi all sorry for being rubbish recently. I was on holiday for a few days and then was avoiding MN and Google like star.

Star already pmed you of course but thank you again for asking! I've always been quite dry anyway so I use preseed. I don't insert it though just use it on the outside.. I think I would ask to do IUI next cycle (if this doesn't work) - putting the swimmers straight past the cervix may make a difference.

I have no update on my appointment but feeling better and looking forward to starting! It was just to sign consent forms and info on the IUI. I asked about my spotting and lining (I have very light periods) and she said my lining was thin on CD13 when I had my baseline scan a few months ago and that my progesterone was "high"... Anyway she said when I call on CD1 to mention this again as they may get me in for more scans - presumably to check lining.

Next step is to call a week before AF due to get my prescription of clomid! Only on CD11 at the moment! Getting there though Smile

Mrs I'm sorry the cyclogest hasn't helped with spotting. Did you say they checked for cysts or endo? I'm hoping acupuncture will help with my spotting too...
