Coggy's Catch Up........

It seems FOREVER ago that I was properly on MN and obssessively ttc!
Only 2 1/2 months ago but alot has happened in that time I expect (no.....sadly no bfp from me yet!!!)
I guess that Debbsy has had her Bibsy and maybe Peachy too......BooBoo next month.....lots of other BFPs??????
Natty, MrsMc and Trace have kept me with some of the news on here.

Here's a quick catch-up with me and what is happening.....
I am CD25 of a usual 26/27 day cycle with all the classic AF signs.....cramps, tiredness, wind etc. etc. (It's nice to be back!! )
I am starting IUI this next cycle so I am only a couple of days away from that and VERY excited and VERY nervous about jabbing myself too!
I figured as well as catching up with my old ttc buddies I could also moan and groan merrily away about it all on this thread and (hopefully) get a little bit of (much needed) sympathy at the same time!!!

I am SUCH a wimp really!!!!
Roll on CD1......

PMSL at your Dh's comments.....how scary thinking that my bits and pieces are being talked about all over the country!!!!!

Actually my (very) nice nurse actually said something like.....this is going to be really uncomfortable and may hurt a lot.
If it is totally unbearable please tell me and we'll rest for a while!
No nice little sweetener there then!!!!!

I was pleased that she told me that as when it happened it was not as bad as I had imagined it in my mind!!!
Rather uncomfortable, a little painful and TOTALLY undiginified....but okay.
A means to an end.....and only 5 minutes or so.....I figured that I could bear almost anything for only 5 minutes.

Hope the garden centre is fun and that your mild indigestion doesn't bother you again today!!

PS...I am not going to bother spell checking this...so I will make NO apologies for any typos...too hot....can't be naffed!

I think any uterus would object coggy! So when you're having major things like IUI do nurses and docs still say things like 'you may feel a little uncomfortable', 'you may experience some mild discomfort', 'just a scratch' etc. So you're lying there while they crank open your nethers wondering how to inflict equal amounts of pain back upon them?

Glad all went well yesterday and the ov pains have to be a good sign. Do I need to come up with anymore terrible jokes? I know lots.

DH just leaned over my shoulder and informed me that 'he's aware of the importance of discussing coggy's uterus but can I get dressed now please?' First day of mat leave and have been decidedly lazy. We're off out to an unknown location. Probably to wander round a garden centre and hope I have no more contractions.

Must go, happy weekend to all of you. Will email you tonight cogs and ask you random questions about the police.

LOL at your dreadful joke SOH....cna't believe that SOL has beaten you when yesterday I thought that it was your turn!!!!

HURRAH for SOL and her little girl.

Needn't have worried about the lack of OV pains as I have been crippled from about lunchtime onwards!!
Obviously just a bit late getting going today.

Thank you bubbly.....it's really good to have advice from you. I still did have the four I guess but they hadn't grown so were going to be useless....only the largest one had grown so I guess that's why they said about having four good ones on Monday and then only one good one on Weds.
Let's hope that it is a really really good one eh?!!
I had to have a slightly more painful procedure today which gave me a wash (??!!) and got the sample right up into the tubes.....still eye-watering stuff with that old speculum cranking up.
Apparently I may well have bad cramps tonight as the uterus doesn't like it!!! ....can't say the rest of me was that keen either to be honest!!!

Oh well....done now....I feel a MILLION times happier (partly to do with SOH's joke????.....) and now I just wait.....and wait....and wait..........................................!

Thanks (as always) for all your positive vibes and thoughts......I always really appreciate them.
((((hugs))))) to you all!

I shall go before I begin gushing any more!!!!!

Good Luck today coggy,

Dont know if any of you know but SOL has had a baby girl this morning, just read it on her AN thread!

Debbsyandson · 20/04/2007 10:05

good luck for today hun xx

bubbly1973 · 20/04/2007 09:56

coggy, just read your other posts, cant quite believe that you had 4 and now have one!!!....are they sure they just mis read your scan and couldnt find the other 3 follicles!

they told me i had one less than i did the last time i had scan but after looking a bit longer they found it, was someone different doing your scan from when u had it done the last time?

anyway, good luck for today and i have everything crossed for you
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

bubbly1973 · 20/04/2007 09:53

coggy, i know you will worry any way, but if it helps, i think enough fluid will have gone in, it happened to me with one of my injections, all this blood came out and i thought the fluid would have come out with it, but someone in the health section told me that most of it would have gone in

as for the not feeling the ov pain, there are numerous reasons for that

one could be that you could have many small follicles as well as your big uns and this time round, you dont have many little cyst growing putting pressure on the big ones perhaps

please dont worry, these drugs we take are very strong and will do the trick, they will make you ovulate, so please please dont worry!!!

i got myfingers crossed for you that this time its a big massive positive xxx

ShowOfHands · 20/04/2007 09:43

I'm going to sit on your shoulder all day and tell you terrible jokes unless you raise slightly more than a feeble smile. And I warn you, I know some terrible jokes.

Right...

Did you hear the one about the man with five willies?

His underwear fit like a glove.

It will only get worse.

coggy · 20/04/2007 09:37

Thank you......

Oi coggy lady. No.

I see what you're doing. You're preparing yourself for the worst. It's like standing outside an exam hall saying 'oh I didn't revise at all, when are the retakes?'. Very British of you and a good coping mechanism but try not to focus too much on all the negatives. Entirely different situation but when I conceived this (enormous 17lb) baby I had no ovulation pain, no EWCM and no temperature spike. I had never not had all three and assumed the cycle was anovulatory. Just goes to show that your body can fool you.

I can only think of you today and hope all goes well.

xxx

coggy · 20/04/2007 09:13

For some reason I am not feeling at all positive about today...most unlike me....but I have NO ov pain at all which I don't think bodes very well.

When the injection was done quite a lot of fluid came out and I was a bit worried that I may not have had enough of it to do it's job.
Now without any ov pains I think that is true.
Last IUI cycle I could hardly walk with the strong pain....

Boo hoo..... I need cheering up...I think my one and only remaining follicle has dried up like a shriveled prune!!!

I am normally so positive and cheerful............boooooooooooooooooooooooo hooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!

I guess I'm thinkin that if this doesn't work then I've only got two chances left......no piggin' pressure then eh??!!!

Oh well.........no doubt I'll be around later tonight after it's all been done.
Hopefully feeling more upbeat and back to normal.

OP posts:
pussycatmomma · 19/04/2007 16:55

yes this one was 32 days. Recently they have been increasing in length up to 40-50-60odd days so I guess this may be a good sign.

trace2 · 19/04/2007 16:01

hi pusscat! sorry just read your post but at least af is more normal now

pussycatmomma · 19/04/2007 15:59

helloooooo trace!!! Hows you today? x

pussycatmomma · 19/04/2007 15:58

wow soh!!! Now according to Jules Oliver in her book, she was spending precious pre-labour time in the bath, shaving her legs and fake tanning herself.

Not sure whether to wish you well cause you are in labour or agree that you cant possilby be! My bet is that you are
Good Luck sweetie.......Hope everything is wonderfulxxxxx
Coggy,,,, iui tomorrow! yay!! I think the other 3 follicles must have been having their diet-coke break, and were temporarily unavailalbe! you never know they may be back in full force for tomorrow
Also , just to let you know, af showed up in full force today.....Clomid round 2 starts tomorrow. Felt so very sad, but have had a good (hormonal) cry and am ok(ish) now.
xxxxxxx
This is so like the old sofa!!!!
(((puss cat wanders off to think about summer food menus and bringing some pimms!)))

trace2 · 19/04/2007 15:55

lol yes do a nat but only with bh

ShowOfHands · 19/04/2007 15:30

Er yes... I'm at home . I could live in a library, it's cosy enough.

DH is collecting me at 5pm, better that than the hour standing on the bus I would have to do otherwise.

BHs are about every 10 minutes. If I ignore them, they can't get me.
