Hi all

I thought I'd start the June bus as I'm getting impatient!

I'm 31 (for a bit longer anyway), TTC#1. DH and I agreed to start TTC in May, but won't be ovulating till about the 24th. ETD 8th June! Feeling terrified and excited at the same time.

Join me if you will! Smile

Babydances have you ovulated yet? If not- definitely! Also, even if you have and it was a lucky month, it would just be a combination of cells at the moment so I don't think a few drinks would do anything. I know lots of ladies like to completely give up drinking when ttc (and good on all of you who do!!!!!) but my mom, aunts, a few of my friends and sister all didn't and just stopped as soon as they knew they were pg- that's the route I'm going down!

babydances · 21/05/2016 17:15

Big QUESTION LADIES
I'm away for the weekend on a city holiday with DP, Can I drink?
Confused

JessJR23 · 21/05/2016 16:32

I took one of the same strips an hour ago writer and mine looked almost as dark as the control, not quite there but better. Really pleased as only cycle day 14 and so far using the more expensive kits I have been getting positive on day 16/17 (which means short LP but won't get into that again now). Bad news is hubby has been away since thursday and wont be back until tomorrow night!! Hoping to get a full positive tomorrow :) P's I have started tested around 2/3pm as I have seen on some medical sites this is actually more accurate than first thing in morning and I have definitely noticed a line in the afternoons when I didn't in the morning.

Writerwannabe83 · 21/05/2016 13:48

I couldn't wait and in just 2.5 hours I've gone from an absolute blank strip to now having this:

Eek exciting!

I know it's not a positive but to have such a big difference in 2.5 hours is promising!!!

June Bus anyone?!
Writerwannabe83 · 21/05/2016 13:26

Lovely, well I need a wee now so I will hold it for a few hours and test when DS is napping Grin

SoozC · 21/05/2016 13:23

Yep, hiding, use opks. Recommended test around 3pm for best result, I hear, which worked for me last cycle. The cycle before I was using FMU and didn't get a positive. Some people test twice, between 10am-8pm.

Writerwannabe83 · 21/05/2016 13:07

mrsG - thanks for your advice!

I have booked DH in for a sex session tonight. I was hoping to do it last night but it didn't happen due to issues with our boiler (long story). We did it 3 days ago and will be hoping to do it tomorrow too so hopefully we will catch an egg even without a positive OPK.

I will test again later tonight then - thanks for the tip!

Julia2016 · 21/05/2016 12:55

CD13 here, negative on Ovulation Test, no EWCM. First month on Clomid in an effort to bring Ovulation back from day 19, so I'm hoping at least this month for ovulation around Day 14-16.

Must DTD today! I swear it's not romantic at all. Last month we didn't touch each other for a good few days after the full week of DTD!! :) DH knows we are ttcing but this month I'm not giving him specifics as in I'm not saying it outright I'm fertile, last month I could tell he felt the pressure to perform!! :)

MrsGsnow18 · 21/05/2016 12:41

EWCM is usually right before ovulation so you are most likely in your fertile window. Not sure why no positive OPK WriterWAnnabe! I'm not having much luck with OPKs either, I never get a positive that is as dark as control line.
I'd say since you have EWCM start dtd every other day or every day for few days. Maybe try another OPK before 8pm. I read somewhere about most women ovulating in the evening, not sure if there's any truth to that.

Writerwannabe83 · 21/05/2016 11:19

CD16, lots of EWCM but not even the hint of a line on the OPK Confused

What's going on?

I thought they came hand in hand??

Hidingthefear · 21/05/2016 09:36

soozc no good for me then as I'm usually woken at 1 and or 4am before getting up at half 6.
I could use opks though couldn't i.

SoozC · 21/05/2016 08:30

Hiding, you need to temp after at least 3-hours sleep. I'm not so great at taking mine because at weekends they're later than in the week because I can't be bothered to wake at my usual work time! But I can see patterns and pinpoint O.

I'm adding preseed and evening primrose oil to my collection of ttc paraphernalia this cycle!

Agree that I spent years worrying about getting pregnant and then 3 cycles ago my DP was disbelieving when I told him there was a window of a day for the egg to be fertilised.

babydances · 21/05/2016 07:42

I'm wondering the exact same thing. My dd was a surprise and I think what were the chances of that!

Hidingthefear · 20/05/2016 22:29

mrsgsnow I know what you mean about missed pills and panic. It's wonder anyone ever gers pregnant..it seems like such a small window of opportunity!

MrsGsnow18 · 20/05/2016 22:05

Loving all the advice here about monitoring CP! I have been reading about it but haven't been monitoring CP or CM yet!
It's funny how I just thought I'd come off the pill and magically get pregnant! Now my eyes have been well and truly opened! How on earth do people accidentally find themselves pregnant! I laugh now about worrying all those times I forgot a pill or was worried I could somehow have gotten pregnant on the pill!( although I know it does happen)

Hidingthefear · 20/05/2016 21:59

I don't think temping would work for me. Am I right in thinking you need a good night's sleep for accurate morning temp? That's what my friend said and she's been ttc for a year and a half so I trust her wise words.
trying maybe that would be a good thing. With your own Feb baby you could fob off the other birthdays if you wanted too maybe lol

Tryingtowait · 20/05/2016 21:07

I feel a bit lost this month as haven't temped but I'm averaging a 29 day cycle and on cd 14 so should be ovulating any day now. Hopefully as this month is the least likely I wanted to get pregnant (lots of Feb birthdays already) I will get pregnant?!? This ttc crap is exhausting, can't wait for a dtd break! That sounds awful but it just feels we have to do it atm to improve our chances rather than a passionate/intimate thing if that makes sense?!

Sunshineface123 · 20/05/2016 20:45

I think that's really sensible Mizzis! It should be enjoyable! Hoping you all have a lovely weekend Smile

MizzisDee · 20/05/2016 20:07

Ugh that sucks Sunshine. My Mil was hinting in passing recently about "maybe getting to be a grandma before I'm too old.wink We deliberately moved the conversation on.

Ive had to promise DH no obsessivNess over temping and such for now. Obviously I know whereabouts I am in my cycle but we want to enjoy it and like barefoot, have somewhere to go if it doesn't happen a easily as we would like. Although there is already a thermometer in my amazon basket ready to up the game next month...

Sunshineface123 · 20/05/2016 19:54

My ETD will be 10th June! We have told most of our family and friends we re ttc which I regret now as constantly asked 'any news?!' Confused

haveacupoftea · 20/05/2016 19:42

Hi, can I join for ttc #1 cycle 1 Grin had a chem in jan from not trying/not preventing (withdrawal method) but ready to start ttc proper... dtd for the first time with 'intent' yday (sounds like a crime lol) but too late for this month, expecting ov around 5th June Smile

Barefootcontessa84 · 20/05/2016 19:36

Haven't been monitoring my CP as I'm trying not to implement too many tactics too early so I can add some each month if it takes a few! For now we're just doing every other day, so no idea about CP Grin !

I'd never heard of monitoring cervical position while trying to conceive! This forum has already taught me loads and (quite ironically!) I'm a midwife! Getting obsessed with reading things on here already Grin

iwillbemrsminty · 20/05/2016 13:36

Thanks Babydances. I do use Ovia, although not very well apparently!

Hidingthefear · 20/05/2016 13:33

Btw Anyone else not able to feel their cervix?
Apparently I have a tilted uterus according to my gp and he struggled removing my coil in 2014 due to a high cervix and the cords disappearing. Would this prevent me reaching my cervix or is there some sort of jymnastics position I can do to make it reachable lol
