June Bus anyone?!

Hi all

I thought I'd start the June bus as I'm getting impatient!

I'm 31 (for a bit longer anyway), TTC#1. DH and I agreed to start TTC in May, but won't be ovulating till about the 24th. ETD 8th June! Feeling terrified and excited at the same time.

Join me if you will! Smile

I conceived dd with one attempt in my FW. Try not to worry..

I heard the missionary position is good to have a boy, they get a head start 😁

Writerwannabe83 · 22/05/2016 23:42

Well me and DH attempted to DTD again this evening despite his injury but it was a complete fail. There was a lot of stopping, starting and stopping again in between him wincing and shouting, "ouch, ouch, ow" every few minutes and so I put an end to it.

He wanted to try again before bed but I declined as the moment had well and truly passed.

I know it couldn't be helped but I do feel a little disappointed as it means in my fertile window we've only had sex once Sad

I'm not feeling hopeful.... Sad

MizzisDee · 22/05/2016 23:30

How glamorous this TTC lark is!

Had a lovely weekend out and about together, all feels a bit flat now though as back to work tomorrow and DH is away tonight and tomorrow night for work as he needs to be able to get very early starts working at an office a couple of hours away. At least it's not the whole week though, he'll be back mid-week, which is nicely timed for the start of my FW Smile

Barefootcontessa84 · 22/05/2016 23:14

Just logged back in after a hectic weekend, and these posts have made me Grin MrsGsnow18 I think you mean the Y sperm?

It's so good to hear other people's weird/funny/gross stories! But yup def not like the films when it's running down your legs Blush
I've heard a few things about having boys but not sure if any truth to any of them. The two than sound the most science-ish are the women avoiding acidic foods as apparently being more alkaline is good for the X sperm. Certain times your CM is better for X sperm too apparently, think it's day before ovulation but you'd have to google to check.

Butterpuff · 22/05/2016 21:00

Hate the mess, as an innocent I remember thinking this is not like the film's!

Hope everyone has had a good weekend...I may have accidentally bought DD a bouncy castle! Grin

Anyone heard of tips to give the male swimmers a head start? I'll be extatic to have either boy or girl....but I do love a science experiment!

Hidingthefear · 22/05/2016 20:45

It's super gross. I usually have loo roll on hand and grab a handful when done to errr hold it in and then run to the loo
writter just giggled so hard. Bridget Jones pants and nappies Grin

Writerwannabe83 · 22/05/2016 18:26

I did try and lie there for a few minutes last night but I didn't want to make DH suspicious as to what I was up to Grin

Sperm is horribly messy. What I do is pop one of DS's nappies in some Bridget Jones pants and wear them for about 20 minutes to catch all the dribbles GrinGrinGrin

Julia2016 · 22/05/2016 18:18

I try and lie there for a good ten minutes when I'm usually heading for the bathroom 😁

FriendlyGhost · 22/05/2016 17:30

Yes Midrog! We usually use condoms so had definitely forgotten. To make matters worse (and sorry tmi) when we dtd this morning one of my boobs spurted milk everywhere. This has never happened before but dd actually slept through last night for the first time ever so I guess there was a build up. DH was completely grossed out by it. He didn't notice until afterwards but his side of the bed was a bit wet Grin

Midrog · 22/05/2016 17:19

Haha yep trying the pelvic tip, lying down malarkey. Anything to try and help them on their travels!

HappyTrain · 22/05/2016 16:39

Hi all! New here and wanting to hop on board the June bus! Just got back from our honeymoon where we decided to start TTC. It's another ten days until my ETD but I'm the least patient person ever so the wait is killing me... wishing everybody good luck!

Blondie0912 · 22/05/2016 16:36

MrsG midrog hilarious but yes- it's super gross! I used to go straight to the bathroom too afterwards but now I'm waiting at least 10 mins- it probably makes no difference but makes me feel better Blush

MrsGsnow18 · 22/05/2016 16:18

Haha! This made me laugh Midrog! I guess I'm kind of used to that because we only used pill for years but yes it's messy! We always argue over ( sorry for TMi) the wet patch on the sheets. Inevitably it's always me who has to suffer and sleep on it, but would be a bit of a mood killer to go get a towel to put down!
Normally I would have headed straight to bathroom for a clean up, these days I'm trying to not move for 5-10 mins and just stua lying on my back!
Anyone else lying flat on their back for at least five mins after? I've read this helps!

Midrog · 22/05/2016 15:09

Is anyone else struggling with......well.....what goes up, must come down? We used the withdrawal method for contraception previously and I'd forgotten just how icky the whole thing can be Confused hoping it's not just me lol! Needs must and all that but jeez.....

Writerwannabe83 · 22/05/2016 07:45

Well he seems ok (ish) this morning so I don't feel too bad Grin

I got an even stronger OPK this morning so he's just going to have to cope with DTD again tonight Grin

It will be an interesting story to tell when future DC2 (hopefully) wants to hear the details of their conception..... Grin

FriendlyGhost · 21/05/2016 23:40

Oh no Writer. Hope he's better soon and ready to get trying! Hope you feel better soon too MrsGSnow. We were out last month because of a sick bug. It seems so unfair when you wait all month to start trying and then something gets in the way.
I'm on cd 11 here. I think I ovulate around cd 17 so I'm planning to dtd tomorrow. I don't know if DH is going to be up for it during the week as he starts a new job on more so I'm hoping that leaving it until next Friday will be enough. Like Hiding I rarely get a long enough stretch of sleep to do temps so I'm relying on cm and luck!

Writerwannabe83 · 21/05/2016 23:39

He's had 2x paracetamol and 2x ibuprofen so he'll survive the night hopefully Grin

I suppose I should let him rest tomorrow and then plan for another go on Monday!

I feel like I'm just using and abusing him Grin

MizzisDee · 21/05/2016 23:14

Don't break him just yet Writer there's still more time!

haveacupoftea · 21/05/2016 23:13

Woohoo writer

CD 22 today and my boobies are in agony Sad sure sign of AF for me

Writerwannabe83 · 21/05/2016 22:47

Well we managed to DTD - he was in a lot of pain afterwards though, whoops Blush

It wasn't the optimal position for TTC (I don't think so anyway?!) but definitely better than nothing Grin

MizzisDee · 21/05/2016 21:54

Oh no writer!

babydances I don't think a little bit at this stage would hurt, especially right at the beginning of FW. I've haven't really had much, if anything, to drink since we started ttc but more by lack of opportunity than intended, neither me nor DH drink much anyway. Personally I'm happy to have a glass of wine or so with dinner until mid -FW then leave off for TWW.

MrsGsnow18 · 21/05/2016 21:50

Oh no Writerwannabe! Sorry to hear that, but if this is just start of FW and you haven't got a dark line like control line yet then there's still hope for next 36 hours or so?
I also am not hopefully anymore about this cycle. I've come down with a throat infection and am having severe back/neck pain so am now taking antibiotics, steroid anti-inflamatories and cocodamol. ( long story short, I'd been avoiding all tablets as ttc which for weeks have just made things worse!) it's prob not going to help me with ttc and also don't think any of the tablets would be suitable for early pregnancy :( not sure if we should avoid dtd? I still want to use OPK to track my ovulation as I'm still trying to work out when/if I do though.

Writerwannabe83 · 21/05/2016 19:51

After my almost positive OPK today and abundance of EWCM I was all geared up for DTD tonight but DH has injured himself.

He's been playing cricket today and had just phoned me on his way home and said he's in agony and thinks he's torn one of his abdominal muscles and he can barely move.

I'm not feeling hopeful for this cycle anymore Sad

babydances · 21/05/2016 17:30

I am approaching my FW. Cycle is irregular so have no idea but it's meant to start today. Thanks blondie Smile
