June Bus anyone?!

Barefootcontessa84 · 02/05/2016 22:59

Hi all

I thought I'd start the June bus as I'm getting impatient!

I'm 31 (for a bit longer anyway), TTC#1. DH and I agreed to start TTC in May, but won't be ovulating till about the 24th. ETD 8th June! Feeling terrified and excited at the same time.

Join me if you will! Smile

Hi Sunshine, thanks for your reply. Hopefully it was an AF then. Have you been trying for long? It's strange when you're first off the pill and no clue about your cycles. I'll prob start checking opks soon as this is CD5 if that was an AF and don't want to miss FW. X

Barefootcontessa84 · 23/05/2016 23:37

Welcome newcomers! I'll update the stats tomorrow.

Well, he pounced on me and willingly had unprotected sex with me so he can't be too fussed. When things first started getting heated I stopped and said that we should use condoms so as not to risk to pregnancy and he said he was happy to just see what happens and that if a pregnancy occurs then that's fine. It was a very much "What will be, will be" type of attitude.

I don't know if that's an OK attitude to have when it comes to a big life changing event of having a baby but I prefer that to a stance of him not wanting one at all.

So we DTD the day before ovulation and the day after ovulation so it's time to get symptom spotting Grin

FriendlyGhost · 23/05/2016 23:02

Oh no writer. DH and I had a similar issue a few months ago when after a split condom he said it didn't really matter because it just brought forward what we were planning anyway. I took this to mean that he was ready to start trying and he saw it as a lucky escape when I didn't get pregnant. There were lots of tears when we finally discussed it. I hope you're ok and your DH comes round to your way of thinking soon. At least the idea's in his head now.
I failed to persuade DH to dtd this evening. Despite being exhausted and me trying to persuade him to go to bed early he wanted to stay up and watch game of thrones. I still think I have a couple of days so I'll have to spell it out tomorrow!

Sunshineface123 · 23/05/2016 22:19

Hope your ok writer X

Sunshineface123 · 23/05/2016 22:19

Hi Poppydm, I was on cilest too and also have had quite light periods. They've gone back quite regular quite quickly though which I was pleased about. Wishing you luck this month too Smile

Writerwannabe83 · 23/05/2016 21:05

mizzis - the brief chat only happened with DH because he popped in to see me at work so we couldn't have a proper chat about it. I've just finished my shift and am about to go home so I guess I will have to talk it out with him. I can't believe this, how can we be thinking such opposite things, a total communication breakdown Sad

Kn33 · 23/05/2016 19:58

DP now on nights for the rest of my FW Sad if it hasn't happened yet then it's not going to :/

MizzisDee · 23/05/2016 19:10

Oh dear writer, are you both on the same page now?
Friendly Ghost looks like you two have things to be celebrating tonight. Wink

Welcome everyone else and good luck.

Poppydm · 23/05/2016 17:51

Hi Ladies Smile
Can I join on? Me and my husband are TTC 1. This is my first real cycle. I came off the pill (cilest) at the end of March and have just had what I think is my first 'real' AF. Sorry for the tmi but can I ask what anyone else's experiences were of the first proper AF after the pill? Mine happened after around 26 days and just appeared with no warning. Usually I would get crampy and have really tender boobs but this time nothing! It's also been pretty light and nothing like what I remember them being like. Do you think that classes as an AF? I've just bought some opks from Amazon and also wanted to ask your advice on when is best to start checking? Wishing you all lots of luck and hoping to share lots of BFPs on this journey with you X

Writerwannabe83 · 23/05/2016 17:19

Well after a chat with DH today it transpires he thought I was using the OPKS to prevent pregnancy, not cause one!! He thought I was doing it so we only had sex at 'safe' times...

Oh dear....

FriendlyGhost · 23/05/2016 16:41

Hopefully DH will be up for it tonight. We never dtd during the week so he'll know exactly why I want to. I didn't want him to feel any pressure so I hadn't planned to tell him when I was fertile. He started a new job today so maybe I can pretend it's to celebrate that. Hope he's not too tired!

LidikaLikes · 23/05/2016 15:47

Friendly get shagging NOW. That CM is that best type for sex. Is the most fertile and best for sperm surviving.

Most women have about 2 days of it per month.

JessJR23 · 23/05/2016 15:17

Good news and bad news this month... bad news is that I think I have missed my FW. I have been using different OPK this month (with lines rather than smiley faces) and had a dark line on sat afternoon and the line was much lighter yesterday and today. Unfortunately hubby was away thurs-sun so if I did ovulate sat/ sun I may have missed my chance (DTD last night and will again today in case!) but GOOD NEWS is Sat was CD14 and I have been ovulating day 17/18 in previous months! This time would mean I would have an LP of 10 days rather than 8...so moving in right direction!

FriendlyGhost · 23/05/2016 15:15

Welcome newbies Smile
I have a perhaps tmi question. I'm on cd 13 here of a usual 30/31 day cycle so my predicted ovulation date is Friday. I just went to the loo and my cm has gone from none at all to a long string of clearish stuff. Does this mean I'm ovulating now or is it my body gearing up to ovulate in a few days? I haven't got any ovulation tests unfortunately and I haven't been able to do the temp thing as most nights I'm woken up every 3-4 hours so was planning to just monitor mucus. This is the first time I've taken any notice though!

Mbire · 23/05/2016 12:56

Hi all.
Can I join?
I'm 34
TTC#1
Cycle 10

Just in the middle of fertile time right now so we have been going every other day since last Sunday.
Usually ov on day 18-19 so thinking of doing every day for the next three! (Well nothing else has worked so far!!)
Should be due a test in about 10 days. Fingers crossed...

Dustycorners · 23/05/2016 12:16

Hi ladies, I'm jumping on the June bus as af has arrived.

Name: Dustycorners
Age: 35
Ttc: #2
Cycle: 2
Etd: 18.06.16

Just had an abnormally short cycle, so not sure what is going on. I'm still breastfeeding DC1(13 months), so that could be affecting it. Will be using opks this month to pinpoint ovulation, as I think I missed some of my fertile window last time.

Good luck everyone!

Spingroll16 · 23/05/2016 11:57

Hi All,

This is my first time post, after long time lurker!

Would like to add I'm getting my implant out next week, then hope to be TTC as soon as after that!

Wibblewobble100 · 23/05/2016 11:33

Hi all, welcome newbies,
Writer I feel your pain, I'm day two of fertile week but we haven't managed to dTD since last week. We tried on Saturday but it was so time pressured before I had to go out for work it just felt wrong and we weren't really into it so gave up.😟 Good to hear all the stories about only taking one try though, and I know it's only day two....

Writerwannabe83 · 23/05/2016 11:07

When I conceived with DS we only had sex twice over the space of 8 days so I know it doesn't have to be too frequent.

I might try and give it another go tonight and hope he can manage it Grin

babydances · 23/05/2016 10:12

Hi ladies according to Ovia I am now in my FW! Yippee! I've been reading everyone's posts but we are on holiday so not had time to write. Totally laughed about the post sex dribble! Grin
So true!

FriendlyGhost · 23/05/2016 09:15

Hello happy train and Sakura!
Writer, we conceived dd with only one try. I actually thought I was too late in the month and we had missed ovulation so just shows it can happen. It only takes one little sperm to get through.
One of my friends swears she got her boy by dtd on ovulation day and her girl by eating limes (as male sperm die in acidic conditions) and dtd two days before ovulation. I personally think there's still a 50/50 chance because I must have conceived dd on ovulation day or straight after (as it was cd17 and I'd had ovulation spotting the day before) so by her logic she should have been a boy.

Sakura03 · 23/05/2016 08:14

*free meant to say frer

Sakura03 · 23/05/2016 08:12

Hi everyone, please can I join? I'm sure I'm out this month, cd 24 today (cycle between 23-27 days) caved in and did a free this morning which was negative Sad. Now in a miserable mood... but I'll pick myself up again, tHoughton joing you gus might helpSmile. Stats: ttc#1,age 37 (38 in a couple of months time), mc 28 May 2015 at 5.5. Cycle? 15 (lost track). Had tests done and waiting to have tubes investigated, went for hospital appointment only to be told I could come back in 4 months time a I had conceived within the last 12 months (mc!)... Initially the consultant didn't want me back for 6 months but I wasn't happy with that so he changed it to 4 months which will be August.
How do you guys stay positive?

Butterpuff · 23/05/2016 07:42

Don't be down writer, it only takes once! If my DH 'proved there is led on the pencil, not shooting blanks'...etc while laid up in pain. His smugness would be unbearable, making it twice as likely that would be the month we conceived. Wink

Time to start symptom spotting for us now.
