Hi all

I thought I'd start the June bus as I'm getting impatient!

I'm 31 (for a bit longer anyway), TTC#1. DH and I agreed to start TTC in May, but won't be ovulating till about the 24th. ETD 8th June! Feeling terrified and excited at the same time.

Join me if you will! Smile

Hello all, am new to MN and to TTC!

This is cycle #1 for me, am 5dpo and feeling a bit despondent as an just starting to get the usual PMS symptoms I always seem to get about 7 days before AF (I have a 12 day LP) which makes me think that it's not our month for a BFP, anyhow will wait and see!

Age 27
TTC #1
Cycle #1

Wouldn't be lovely if some of us could give our DH/DP the news of a BFP on Father's Day.... Smile

Wibblewobble100 · 27/05/2016 17:36

Thanks, ghost.... Fingers crossed we won't need a next month!

FriendlyGhost · 27/05/2016 17:00

Wibblewobble from what I've read it could just be inaccurate measurement that is making it look like you haven't ovulated. I think you need a special thermometer which is more sensitive and you have to measure it at the same time each day after more than 3 hours sleep and without getting up first. I haven't bothered as my toddler is also a terrible sleeper so I often don't get the 3 consecutive hours and have to jump straight out of bed to stop the yelling. I think by getting up first sometimes and not always having long enough to rest beforehand you won't be getting an accurate reading. Hopefully that means you have ovulated and you're just not picking it up with the temping. I'm also going to use opks next month as I'm also finding it hard to tell if I've ovulated or not.

Wibblewobble100 · 27/05/2016 14:13

Hello lovely ladies, can anyone tell me about basal temps? I mentioned before that I've been measuring on a slightly crappy oral thermometer . I do it first thing when I wake, but my toddler is a crap sleeper, so I may have been woken briefly in the three hours before, and sometimes will have had to get out of bed for a minute or two to settle him, before going back to bed and straight back to sleep. Also I some times forget first thing and may have nipped to the loo before I remember.... At the start of my cycle I was generally 36.2 on waking and for the last 3 days it's been more like 35.9. I'm now day 17 and EWCM has stopped. No rise in temp though. I'm not using opks yet. Do you think this means I didn't ovulate, or could the less that ideal temp checking just be throwing things off? Not feeling too hopeful for a bfp this month so will get some opks for next round.

I have a feeling you're going to be a bad influence on me Grin

Writerwannabe83 · 27/05/2016 13:06

The way I view it is that when I actually take a test has no impact on wether I'm pregnant or not. If I am, I am and if I'm not, I'm not, whether I take a test at 8dpo or 16dpo won't change that fact Smile

Obviously the early testing will no doubt give negative tests but all that does is make me more excited as I squint for teeny, tiny lines - there's something very fun and exciting in doing that Grin

FriendlyGhost · 27/05/2016 13:01

I'm going to try to hold out until I'm definitely late. I'm not feeling particularly confident because I'm still not sure if I've ovulated or not yet this cycle. It's so confusing. Looking forward to hearing all the other bfps though!

Writerwannabe83 · 27/05/2016 12:53

I bloody LOVE testing!!!!! I can't wait to start on Monday Grin Grin

FriendlyGhost · 27/05/2016 12:44

Oh dear. I told myself I wouldn't get obsessed with testing. It's not going to happen is it?!

Writerwannabe83 · 27/05/2016 12:36

Some of the sets come with 30 pregnancy tests too Grin

Writerwannabe83 · 27/05/2016 12:36

I get a pack of 30 for about £5 off Amazon!

FriendlyGhost · 27/05/2016 12:10

I thought weeble was some slang term that I'd missed Grin
I'm also going to keep dtd over the weekend just in case. I had what looked like stretchy cm again earlier. The same as on Monday. My body clearly doesn't like to follow what it's supposed to do! Does anyone know where you can get cheap ovulation tests? I looked in waitrose earlier and they're £19!

babydances · 27/05/2016 08:57

writer your posts always make me laugh Grin I'm off to work feeling confident we've given it a good shot. May try and dtd tomorrow and the following day just incase but will continue to tell dp I have already ovulated so as to not put him under any pressure. He told me he agrees not to know for everyone's sakes Grin

Writerwannabe83 · 27/05/2016 08:54

Eek - just saw my typo! I'm not "off to do a weeble" and I am in fact "off to do a wee" Grin

Writerwannabe83 · 27/05/2016 08:53

Im off to have a weeble do I shall see what CM is there today Grin

5dpo and my stomach is making very strange popping and aching sensations and I've had cramps over the last two days.

Me and my colleague (also friends) are both TTC and we both got our positive OPK on the same day so yesterday we were symptom spitting together and dreaming wistfully about how wonderful it would be if we were pregnant at the same time Grin

babydances · 27/05/2016 08:50

Yes he did friendlyghost poor man. Think he is feeling the pressure to perform! Blush

FriendlyGhost · 27/05/2016 08:42

Hope he still managed to do the job babydances!
I always just check cm when I wipe. There's none at all today so I must have ovulated around cd 14. I know that this is normal but my cycles are usually 30/31 days so I thought it would be today (cd17). Now to start spotting imaginary symptoms!

Writerwannabe83 · 27/05/2016 08:37

I'm too queasy for that Grin Grin

babydances · 27/05/2016 07:33

writer may sound gross but if u put your finger inside and reach up high u will feel something circular like a mini donut shape! It's the only way I can describe it! If you google cervix pictures u will see what it looks like and no what to feel for

babydances · 27/05/2016 07:30

Well last night the EWCM arrived and I was so excited as it must mean I am ovulating! Woke up and boobs feel so painful. Dtd however was difficult as dp kept loosing his h***on. So this has taught me to never discuss my FW with him !

Writerwannabe83 · 26/05/2016 22:29

haveacupoftea - I tended to start using OPKs on CD14 which was about 7 to 8 days after my period had finished.

Writerwannabe83 · 26/05/2016 22:28

I check my CM by what's on the tissue paper after wiping from a wee and I find it's really obvious to spot EWCM that way.

If I think something looks like EWCM I tend to pick it off the toilet paper and see if it stretches in the same way EWCM is supposed to Grin

haveacupoftea · 26/05/2016 21:52

I am going to start using OPKs for the first time...tomorrow is CD4...what day should i start testing?

MrsGsnow18 · 26/05/2016 21:51

How is everyone checking theirs? I am only going by what I can see in underwear really which is why I think I might miss EWCM. I do sometimes just feel like it's water though so I put that on ovia.
I think I may have messed up my ovia a bit though with possibly a few symptoms that I just imagined.
