TTC with PCOS (Lucky Thread 5)

I've just seen this other doctor who is so much better!
Just taken about 16 vials of blood from me to check everything including blood clotting, repeat MC ( several checks for this), Vit D and iron along with loads of other things. I had a scan which showed "ovulating PCOS" and "Adenomyosis" which Google tell me causes very heavy bleeding and pain ( I don't get the pain though) and is inner lining of uterus breaking through, or something. She also saw a blood clot but said my uterus looked good.
My left ovary looks to be getting ready to pop, she said Monday should be ovulation day, but can't see me getting any action from DP while his testicle is so painful. Even if I do it won't be "babysex" as he wants to wait now. Wasted opportunity though.
I should get the results from my bloods in about a month so should have some idea why I've been miscarrying. Or it might just be one of those things.
I've been prescribed a drug to reduce bleeding during my periods, and also progesterone to take when I'm next pregnant. Plus he said I should take baby aspirin when I'm preg too, regardless of blood clotting.

Oh and DP's results came back and he's got an official diagnosis of Mumps. Selfishly I really hope it doesn't effect his fertility. It's rare but it happens

Also, looks like we might well be exchanging today or tomorrow. Our seller text me saying he's had the go ahead his side of the chain. Need to contact our solicitors to see where they stand.

Spotsondots welcome back! And thank you for your kind words. I've got an appointment with another consultant today at 11am... I'm going to ask about fibroids and perimenopause, and just insist on every blood check and scan they can do.

Shell How long did it take for the EPO to kick in? I've been taking it for 4 days now and nothing yet. I guess it's early days though. Seems pointless when DP is ill and we haven't actually had sex (let alone 'babysex') for nearly two weeks. His ball is really really swollen and so painful - I'm still convinced it's mumps. He should get results today.

Hi Amy I'm sorry you got such a disappointing result. What works for me is low GI, though I don't really follow it right now. It's supposed to be very good for PCOS. Slimming world won't really work as I don't think they big on telling their customers to avoid white refined carbs. Same with Weight Watchers. Seriously, just go low GI, give it a go xx

Sorry I've not been on this thread for a while, been busy with work and DTD. However, it's all come to blows since I got the result of my cd21 bloods; a measly 1.2

Before this i was really positive and looking forward to seeing a BFP. Now I'm thinking about how cruel PCOS is & what I can do to help the symptoms, I could really do with loosing weight.

I've done slimming world before, and had successful weight losses. However, since the introduction of Extra easy, I've found my weight loss rediculosly slow and disheartening. I've read online that carbs, dairy and high GI foods are bad for PCOS sufferers due to the fact that they increase insulin levels and testosterone.

I was thinking of buying a few pcos diet books, having a look at what's good/bad and trying to incorporate those into slimming world (as it's the only thing I know).

Has anyone got any advice? I'm super down in the dumps & this weight has got to go!

Just so you know I'm 5ft 6. And probably around 17stones, With a BMI of 37.

Looks like first round of clomid hasn't worked, so if we're going to continue with pointless clomid rounds I need my BMI to be 30 or under before more treatment can be offered.

Sorry for my absence. Last week was my first week back at work after my MC so I had a busy one getting back into the swing of things. Bit more on top of it now.

Sorry to hear about those of you who are having a tough time. Frazzle and cwtchy for you both. And sorry to hear the clomid is making you feel pants Village.

I am cd 15 and have been spotting since yesterday. Only very slightly. Not sure what's going on. Still feel like all bets are off while my body settles down after MC but kind of hoping that it's miraculously ovulation bleeding especially as we DTD on Sunday but it could be anything!

I think 6 days late, app thinks 6 days to AF so who knows :(

frazzle You really do need answers. Ypu must be up the wall. Let us know how you get on, on Thursday.

Well i'm on day 2 of clomid. It's not agreeing with me. I feel so down & then so angry on it. Also, my periods are never particularly heavy, but it's much lighter this month on clomid. Surely this is a sign my lining is not great? Don't know what to do?

Had bloods done yesterday, to phone up next week about them and scan rescheduled for June.
According to period tracker app I am due AF in 7 days...sat here feeling sickly and period like now with creamy white CM. Could it be? I don't want to get my hopes up probably just looking out for any little sign as every month..x

And frazzle I'm sorry everything seems to be going to shit for you too. Really hope the second opinion on thursday proves useful and gives you some answers

I am still at a loss as to what the hell is wrong with me. The period I started on day 16 of my cycle is still ongoing. 9 days of bleeding now. Keeps looking like it's going to stop when I wake up in the morning but comes back again by mid morning.
I got my results back from my consultant. Progesterone fine, prolactin fine.

I've booked another appointment for Thursday. This time with a different consultant. I'm thinking a second opinion can't do any harm can it. I just want to stop bleeding all the fucking time

Oh, btw, I've just started EPO! Not that we're doing anything regarding TTC at the moment now that DP wants to wait until we're settled into our new house. Also, he's been really poorly. I had to call an ambulance for him on Friday as his temp rocketed and he was hallucinating . He seems to be improving now, but pretty sure it was a really bad case of the mumps!
I swear we've upset a gypsy or something. The house move is about to fall through, and my cat had to have a lump removed today.

All that on top of the miscarriages is really fucking me off! I'll just sit here and bleed to death

As suspected, this pregnancy is a non-starter. Hcg levels ridiculously low for my dates and although no pain or bleeding, it's only a matter of time. I feel okay, I think I knew it pretty much straight away because my lines weren't ever particularly strong.

I hope everyone else is okay - stepping off for a few weeks to rejig. Best wishes to you all -

Hmmm village I'm not sure. How many days past the blood test ovulation are you? I'm rubbish at keeping track so sorry if you've said it repeatedly already.
