Ok I'm due on today but nothing happened so I thought I'd take a test, it's a strange result, the horizontal line is there but there is another line but it's not vertical like a plus sign, it's diagonal?! The picture isn't very clear HELP!

Thanks Gruffalo I'm going to call the docs first thing- typical that this would happen on a bank holiday!! I'm 5 days late now and I would think that I would be getting a good dark result but they are definitely getting lighter that's my concern. I guess if the worst happens at least I know I can get pregnant now, that's half the battle I suppose xxx

I really don't think you can read much into any of that. Can you get a GP appointment for blood tests as you are obviously getting really stressed Flowers

I had brown spotting in my first (healthy) pregnancy. My boob sensitivity (and other symptoms) has come and gone in both pregnancies.

Hang on in there.

Actorgirl3 · 02/05/2016 10:44

Morning, I tested again this morning first wee, barely there, had a tiny bit of brown spotting last night and this morning. I just can't see this happening. My boobs aren't sore this morning either. But i feel shaky and was the same yesterday morning. I'm so sorry to keep going on but I just don't know what to think. Everything online suggests that when tests are getting lighter it's a chemical pregnancy but if anyone has any more positive experiences by all means let me know. I'm in bits. I will be 4w3days now xx

Stop testing! A line is a line, you can't get any more information from them than that. Loads of stuff can make a difference to how strange the line is, the sensitivity of the test itself (and this can vary, even with the same brand), how much you've had to drink, how many times you peed in the night. I know how anxiety inducing it can be, but there is really no more you can do now than wait.

GruffaloPants · 01/05/2016 19:03

Stop testing! Yes dilute urine can easily give a fainter line.

Actorgirl3 · 01/05/2016 18:33

Hiya you mentioned on my thread that your first first response test was faint like mine, can I ask was your period late when you first tested? X

They were fertility tests as we'd been trying for so long. I think I'll ring the docs on tues and see if they can do a blood test. I know you're right I need to stop for now I'm just terrified until a professional tells me I definitely am x

Step away from the pregnancy tests. Its just making it more worrying!

What were the tests at hospital to do? Maybe ring consultants secretary to discuss if to still go.

Actorgirl3 · 01/05/2016 17:03

Hi all, I did another FR test today but it was 2nd urine -not first as with the others, the line was fainter than Friday. Do you think that it's just because it was 2nd urine or is it likely I'm miscarrying? I'm feeling a bit freaked x

Same symptoms as me at that point and I can see positives there! We were two years trying so I feel you! Congratulations and enjoy!

pieceofpurplesky · 30/04/2016 10:15

Congratulations

Actorgirl3 · 30/04/2016 09:52

Thanks so much everyone, still totally in denial, 18 months of 1 lonely line! Won't believe it's really until I go to the doctor which is at 8 weeks so 4 more weeks of waiting!!! X

Plus my boobs are unbareable I said to my husband if he so much as looks at them I might punch him in the face 😂

Yep definitely pregnant. Congratulations!

missybct · 30/04/2016 08:46

You're definitely pregnant OP Flowers Congratulations Grin

Agree with PP - try not to get wrapped up in strength of lines - the hormone that binds to the tests (hcg) rises differently for everybody, and it totally causes unnecessary panic.

gumdropss · 30/04/2016 08:43

Congratulations! I recently found out I was pregnant after a similar length of time TTC. My first test had a very faint line too and I just couldn't believe that I was pregnant. I had become so used to seeing one lonely line on the test!

WellErrr · 30/04/2016 08:37

Congratulations!!! Flowers

They are definitely positive.

That line is exactly the same as my positive first response - congratulations!

Coldest · 30/04/2016 08:25

Clear line still there! :D

firesidechat · 30/04/2016 08:21

I think she's talking rubbish too. It's testing for pregnancy hormones and there is definitely a line there.

firesidechat · 30/04/2016 08:20

Exhaustion was my first symptom. It's looking good.

Actorgirl3 · 30/04/2016 08:18

Yeah that's what I said but she said there coul just be a rise of hormones just because my period is late, I think she's talking rubbish!

Weird response from the second pharmacist! That line is a lot darker than mine for this pregnancy. I'm 24 weeks with a massive wriggly bump, definitely pregnant!

The coloured line is created by a reaction between HCG in your urine and the test pad. HCG is there because you are pregnant. No HCG = no coloured line, not even a faint one (unless on certain fertility drugs etc).

Actorgirl3 · 30/04/2016 08:03

I asked two pharmacists yesterday, one said definitely positive, the other said it would have been a strong line if I was pregnant not sure I agree!!
