We are jolly well going to get and stay diffed this month and we are BROOKING NO ARGUMENT.

I like it too imps :o i Think mothercare have star wars themed babygrows, you could send your mum a link to a stormtrooper or R2-D2 and ask if that was what she meant by white clothes for babies :o

Good call re: harmony testing. You won't be high risk though cos all your bloods and the nuchal measurements will be perfect.

geek vivid Dreams are definitely a preggo symptom, as are sore boobs - pasta or magicbooblady as we now call her will be round with her tape measure soon!

Scan is indeed this week, thurs at 13:40 - terrified that they will find something wrong - but we talked yesterday (when MrB asked what it was that was happening on Thursday!) and we've agreed we'll pay for harmony-type testing if I'm high-risk rather than the small risk of mc with amnio/cvs.

imps I agree that white is nice and she is just excited as annoying as it is. My grandma was so convinced I was having a girl she brought a pink cardi luckily only one though because N is not a girl haha.

Touch wood I had no spotting yesterday and none yet today. Seeing my gp tomorrow so I'm going to see if I can at least get some bum bullets, but defo an early scan and maybe get some bloods just to check things are heading the right direction. Oddly though I feel quite calm.

Sore norks = very good.

Bad dreams = a natural reaction to anxiety. I have had many dreams (including last night) in which I've miscarried, or where at the scan the sonographer has told us that all we can do is pray that the baby will be okay because it looked so bad. It's completely natural to have those sorts of anxiety dreams - they are indicative of precisely nothing (other than confirming that you're worried, but you already know that).

I think this is going to be the first of many opportunities to practice deep breathing and selective deafness imps - remember, opinions are like arseholes - everyone's got one Grin Tis your baby, and you will be the one picking the clothes each day. White is nice, but you can't beat a good bit of colour.

I had an orange babygro too beedle - must have been the in thing back in the day!

I second the bumpie request please keep, how are the flutters going?

All ok so far today, but then I've not had to have a poo yet... I spent most of yesterday in bed trying to sleep the day away. I've found it's the only way of dealing with anxiety at the weekend. Last night's sleep was terrible though - a few dreams where it all went badly at the scan, and in between those my norks hurt so much when I lay on them they kept waking me up. I'm taking that as a good sign :)

Oooh but in other news, I'm never going to stop using body/bump oil - it's made such a difference to my skin, esp skin tone. I actually look glowing! Gorgeous stuff.

imps I do love a new baby in white but think you need to rebel and go for patterns/stripes/neon... Trouble is everyone has an opinion on everything and it doesn't stop once they're born so ...

I've not broken the news to her about Barry-Baxter being the name yet Grin She did say that she'd give us some ideas for names but that we didn't have to go for any of them if we didn't want to...

Anyway enough about my mother, what's everyone got planned for today. Any peestick peeing on scheduled for you Belle? Has the spotting stopped Geek? Any decent pant snot Loops?

imps looks like we'll all have to go looking for the brightest possible babygrows for you. My mum asked if she could start knittiing yet, but I told her I rather she waited until after the 12 week scan. I'm sure my parents have a picture of me in a rather lovely bright orange babygrow, I Think I was probably about 1 by then but still there's absolutely nothing wrong with bright colours on a baby. Have you told her the baby will be called Barry-Baxter? :o

Hello Waffle! Welcome to the Brooking thread - lovely to meet you :)

V exciting to have started TTC - I am brooking no argument that your journey is short and sweet. As long as you're taking vits which include folic acid, I think that's all you really need to do. Apart from have sex of course. Easy to forget that bit.

Hope everyone's had a lovely day. Just had a lovely dinner out but have come home to an email from my mother which has irritated me (probably somewhat unreasonably) - she's been shopping for Barry-Baxter already and was certain to buy only white things because really white is the best colour for babies until they're at least a few months old - apparently babies wearing colourful clothes is not the done thing Hmm Oh god, it's fine that she's excited but this is too much. I hope I don't let her get to me this much for the rest of my life pregnancy.

Hi everyone! I'm 30, first time TTC. Quite bamboozled by all the acronyms, will have to look them up. I'm guessing AF is Aunt Flo?! Confused about some of the others! Not technically TTC until this Tues when I get my implant removed but it seems like I have a lot to learn!! Started taking Pregnacare before conception vitamins, is there anything else that I really must do before TTC?! I'm generally quite healthy, eat well, go to the gym. Probably drink too much alcohol so will try to cut down. Nice to meet you all!!

Congrats cartoon it's a bfn here I reckon possible tiny line on frer in but that's probably an indent line the IC had loads of pink marks but not really in a line and ive thrown away the precious first piss Sad AF not due until Thursday so it's way early to be testing anyway I should really wait until Tuesday but I have no will power ! Lol
