Omg I've had to go to the work loos to do this imps!!

geek lovely to tell your mum x

BeedlesPineNeedles · 28/04/2016 14:57

Ooh yes imps Prince Barry-Baxter has a nice ring to it :o

cups how could we forget the shining light of Little Z last year!

geek I sent my mum a text and promised her an emailed photo this evening! Maybe best to wait a bit with your dad, MIL is the same but further along and in a care home. I doubt she will understand that its her grandchild if we get that far. Luckily FIL is great with kids (probably better than my own dad with small babies!)

Whoops sorry cups it seemed like longer ago

Imps9 · 28/04/2016 14:37

Aaaah of course Cup - you were the shining beacon of Brooking success breaking through the cold, grey fog of TTC shittiness.

Anyone think that all these talented celebs who have passed on in 2016 so far have simply been making room for Brooking babies? I bagsy having the new Prince Grin

Beedle amazing news! What a great day in Brooking land!

Yes last year was shit apart from for me as I got my Brooking baby then!

ControlGeek · 28/04/2016 14:03

Oh beedle that's brilliant news, I can imagine how relieved you must be! Deep breath and enjoy from here on in :) Now go buy that babygro!

Yes to a much better brooking year, last year really was utter tripe all round.

Sorry, someone asked about telling my family, I can't remember who (can I say I have baby brain yet?!) - I phoned my mum from the car park of the scanning place, straight after the scan. MrG needed some time before he was fit to drive so it seemed like a good opportunity. She's been involved in every IVF, so was over the moon as she knows we've never got this far before. My dad will be harder to tell as he has dementia. I think we'll probably wait until I've started to show.

cartoontrickster · 28/04/2016 13:46

Yay beedles that's brilliant!

Well done little beans!

keepitgoing · 28/04/2016 13:43

Yes it's been fabulous mostly esp considering last year I think was a total flop. Let's all get fried egg babygros!

I meant to make tonight's shag the 3rd brooking success of the day loopy, if that wasn't clear Smile

keepitgoing · 28/04/2016 13:41

Hurrah!!!!!! What a fabulous brooking day!

Get shagging loopy

BeedlesPineNeedles · 28/04/2016 13:41

12+4 from ET or 12+5 by measurement, we're sticking with EDD Nov 6th. When looked up the measurements from my 7 week scan I was 3/4 Days behind so he/she/it has grown well :o

We're having a pretty fab brooking year really!

Imps9 · 28/04/2016 13:36

Are you 13+1 Beedles?

That is bloody fantastic news Beedles!!!! And such low risks for the trisomies too! Oh this is a bloody great Brooking day.

BeedlesPineNeedles · 28/04/2016 13:29

Good news from me :o

Little bean moving around, kicking and moving its hands, measuring right or dates, possibly 1 day ahead 1:1000 for downs and 1:4000 for the other 2 which is bloody great as my age-related risk was approx 1:100.

I'm so bloody relieved, but actually I Think I was more worried about geek's scan than my own!

I Think we can tell a few more people at the weekend - and buy a fried-egg babygrow :o

cartoontrickster · 28/04/2016 13:12

Imps if I were you I probably wouldn't bother! I didn't find it any much more use than the nhs one it was a bit hippyish for my taste and I know others in my group weren't overly impressed either. Yes I'm still in contact with them all and we all meet up every so often but I never got close to anyone more than the other and now that people are back at work it's harder to make arrangements. I do know that we are lucky all 6 of us get on haha some people just don't click with their group. It's a nice way for men folk to be involved though , dh could attend the evening nct classes but not the bus ones during the day because of work. I actually made better friends from my postnatal group and toddler group.

keepitgoing · 28/04/2016 12:49

Yay to another scan geek, are you still spotting. Oh this is the best news!!

imps I did NCT and found it v useful in terms of labour etc, and also as we'd just moved it was a way to meet people. Mist nhs hospitals offer birth classes too which are similar but shorter, so should cover that part. As for meeting people depends how much you want to, you can always make friends through itge ways eg prenatal yoga, or baby classes. I think missing 2/6 classes I wouldn't bother. You could do an earlier one maybe?

Imps9 · 28/04/2016 12:35

Oh yes I forget that you have another scan Geek! I've never been told the heart rate and haven't thought to ask actually. Does your family know yet?

Can I ask your opinions about NCT? The nearest class to me and the one which is suitable for my due date is £260 and we're going to miss 2 out of the 6 sessions when we're on holiday. I was questioning whether or not it was worth it to begin with, but am questioning it even more now given that we'll miss a large chunk of it. Did all of you Brookers with children do NCT classes and did you think it was worth it? And would it be a waste to miss 2 sessions? £260 is such a lot of money.

Oh Geek, I'm so pleased it went well. Go little bean!!!! I've shed a little tear for you lovely lady

Now I'm turning up my Brooking power to max for Beedle x

ControlGeek · 28/04/2016 12:26

Good luck beedle xxx

What time's your appointment this afternoon trix? 4pm? I hope you have a much smoother experience than imps' last one, and may it lead to your sticky!

That sounds like a very well-timed weekend there Loopy, best remind MrL that it's a bank holiday, too Wink

I was in a queue behind an obviously pg woman complaining about how she wasn't looking forward to her forthcoming scan - you have to get up on the bench and everything, it's so undignified! I may have actually snorted...

No, no indication on what might have caused the spotting. The Dr did say that it was much more common with IVF pgs, and being on blood thinners could be a contributing factor. I've had a friable cervix in the past - it would bleed if they just touched it with the smear brush - so maybe it's just all the extra blood flow, pressure and thinners.

So it was measuring 9.5mm and had a heart rate of 118. I didn't even have an internal scan - that was a first! I'll have to wait a whole 24 hours before I see the little bean again, hopefully this time my experience of the epu will be rather different to previous ones! I'm not quite at the stage where I'll let myself think in terms of nicknames, maybe after the 8 week scan...

Imps9 · 28/04/2016 11:42

Oh and Keep where is this bumpie you keep promising us?

OP posts:
Imps9 · 28/04/2016 11:26

Ohhhhhh Geek that's absolutely brilliant! HURRRRRRRAHHHHH for Geeklet!!!

I tend to buy second hand quite a lot and have plenty of people to give me hand me downs given that I'm one of the last to have children. But absolutely nothing wrong with buying new. No one should feel as though they're doing the wrong thing either way.

Speaking of which, hopefully Next can now get a few more orders for fried egg babygrows what with all the good scan news going on...

Geek did the doc say what would be causing the bleeding? When is your next scan booked for? Oh I am so thrilled for you. Flowers Star Chocolate
