Finishing a project before starting on a new one?? An interesting idea! I'm terrible for having about 50 things on the go all at once.

My stomach is so hairy at the moment. Had no idea that a furry stomach was part of pregnancy!

this one but I need to finish the Little cardigan I'm working on first

Imps9 · 03/08/2016 09:25

Multi-purpose hats Beedles - a great idea!

Hurrah re: replacement wool! Glad the company understand the urgency of having the right yarn in place to start a new project. Which pattern will you be doing?

I had an appointment last week, so its Another 3 weeks until my next one.

Your hats look much more rounded than mine imps Mine seem to look like a flat crochet circle with sides - you could stand them the wrong way up and use them as a basket!

I just got a reply about the wrong wool, they will send out the right one today, they even offered to deliver it this evening Shock but I said I could wait for the post (plus they might decide its cheaper for me to keep the wrong one than pay the postage back!!) My faith has been restored and I will probably use them again!

Imps9 · 03/08/2016 08:57

Oh and my bump seems to have grown massively overnight. Just caught my reflection and couldn't believe how big it is!

Aaaah the complete and utter joy of getting a yarn delivery!! There's nothing more exciting on earth.

If you want to do some very warm and snuggly winter stuff, I heartily recommend Drops Air. It's completely gorgeous - so soft, lightweight and snuggly and no scratchiness at all as you can get with some wool yarns - I made another hat using it last night. It's an Aran weight, so you'll need a size 5+ hook. Oddly, the lady I bought it from said that you couldn't crochet with it, you could only use it for knitting. I didn't have any problems with it at all though.

Who's got the next antenatal appt then? I have my 28 week MW appt on Thurs. Hopefully they will have the results of my glucose test back and all will be well.

Looks Lovely imps

My yarn arrived yesterday for my next blanket :o but they sent me the wrong green Sad I ordered Spring Green and they sent me Bright Green. It doesn't really show in the photo but its very bright. I've emailed them so hopefully they will send the right stuff straight away and not make me send the wrong one back first. Next time I'll order from England

I'm not quite sure who but I think one of the Brooker's DM made 2 pinafores for her DD. These have been passed from Brooker to Brooker whenever a new girl is born.

Imps9 · 02/08/2016 19:53

So my red yarn was engaged in another project so I added a purple pom-pom and I rather love it!!

Pasta what are the Brooking Pinafores?

Fab pic Geek you will be able to have the Brooking pinafores :) I am not sure how many brooking babies have worn them now

Imps9 · 02/08/2016 16:13

12 rounds for that hat Beedles, not 20.

Oh Geek that's wonderful! Little Miss Geekling - fabulous stuff. Glad all was well with the scan too :)

Loops I agree that you should ask what they tested for. And a month without drugs will do you no harm. Have you considered taking egg and sperm-friendly supplements to see if that helps with quality?

Sounds like good timing for Shag Week for you and Mr Loops! Do you have plans for your anniversary?

keepitgoing · 02/08/2016 14:23

Oh phew geek i was starting to worry. Congratulations, baby girls are the best thing in the whole world (I'm sure boys are too...) I'm so pleased all was good

loopy I think you should ring up and ask what they tested for. And you are very sceptical about all these drugs so I agree a month without might at least stop you worrying about that, at the worst, and might work, at the best

BeedlesPineNeedles · 02/08/2016 14:11

Congratulations geek :o :o

loopy maybe it is Worth a try with no drugs. its a shame they didn't give you all the details just Everything is normal. I Always Think of maybe's GP who said MrMaybe's sperm was normal when in fact there was no sperm getting through at all and never could have been. If they've gone to the trouble of emailing you, how hard is it to give you a few details?

ControlGeek · 02/08/2016 13:59

Sorry, sorry, I'm back home now and have managed to get a photo onto my laptop! Everything is perfect and we are tickled "pink" GrinGrinGrin

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 02/08/2016 13:57

Hope all went well Geek.

Imps I can't afford to get rid of their clothes/toys to invoke Sod's law, as there is absolutely no chance we could afford to replace it all. Dread to think how many thousands has been spent over the past 6 years.

We DTD Sunday night to clear out DH's tubes to get rid of his old sperm. Mucus started to appear earlier on Sunday but not in any great quantity so very much doubt it would have counted for ttc. Same amount of mucus yesterday. I'm on cd23 today and there is more mucus today so I expect I will ovulate at the weekend as I usually get a number of days of plentiful mucus first. DH is stopping near work last night and tonight because of train engineering works so earliest we can DTD is Wednesday night when he gets home. Conveniently he is working from home Thursday and has Friday off, and he is working from home next Monday and Tuesday (which are our wedding anniversary and then the anniversary of the date that we first met) so should hopefully be plenty of opportunity. Just wish there was something I could do to ensure that its a good egg and that my body doesn't reject it as it doesn't feel possible that they could all be chromosomal abnormalities.

Oh and Prof B emailed back to say he would instruct a doctor at the main hospital to email me with my results, which they did and everything they tested for was normal (still no idea what they tested for as they haven't told me).

So it's same as normal, I'm meant to take progesterone from bfp, and clexane from bfp. And no idea if either is actually likely to do any good or whether they are making matters worse. There is a stubborn part of me considering trying with no progesterone and no clexane. Last cycle was my strongest bfp since Jan 2015, and I didn't take progesterone from bfp (I only started progesterone when I knew it was going to be another MC so that it might stop the bleeding so I could swim on holiday). Looking back, there was no noticeable change in my frer bfps from 15dpo. I started clexane on either 12 or 13 dpo. Don't know if it is linked.

BeedlesPineNeedles · 02/08/2016 11:31

I stood up at my desk for a while and now I've got some drinking yogurt which seems to help. So I Think I'd better stay!

I'm hoping babybeedles likes the wall, it took long enough, I'm not painting over it for a very long time!

Come on geek the morning is over (here anyway!)

keepitgoing · 02/08/2016 10:22

You are clearly not fit to work beedle, go home!!

That hat def needs a pom pom I think

Imps9 · 02/08/2016 10:05

The hat was very quick indeed Beedles - only 20 rounds. I did start on another one which turned out to be more suitable for an older child. I will finish it but was keen to do something for Barry-Baxter to wear straightaway.

I meant to say about your wall - it is completely awesome. Babybeedles will love it.

BeedlesPineNeedles · 02/08/2016 09:57

geek good luck with the scan, hope geekling doesn't have their legs crossed. Glad MrG is out of hospital.
The idea for the wall came from pinterest (but they were generally different shades of the same colour not lots of clashing colours!) The other 3 walls are just plain grey, so its not too shocking. No idea what I'm going to do about curtains now though!

imps have you already crocheted the hat? I Think a Little red pompom would look nice - but as I'm currently doing a lime green and Purple cardigan for babybeedle you might want someone else's opinion too! (I didn't Think it would turn out as well as it has so I just used some wool we had lying around rather than buy anything specially)

I Think sitting at my desk gives me heartburn Sad

Imps9 · 02/08/2016 09:22

Am thinking that a bright red pom-pom would look good on this...

Geek how horrid for you both. Is he back at home now? Hope the infection is buggering off. Good luck with the scan today :) Can't wait to hear if Geekling is a girl or a boy!

Yes where is Trix? TRIX COME BACK.

Keep haaaaaaa 6-7 weeks!!!! Aaaaargh what a thought! Good plan re stopping work sooner in that case. I'm planning to finish at 38+3 but will see how I feel mid-September.

Question to parents: is there any reason why a newborn hat should not have a pom-pom?

OP posts:
Pastamancer · 01/08/2016 21:18

Crochet along. Basically you don't get the pattern in one go, it is released in parts and you wait until the end to see what it will look like. The one I'm doing has a new section released every 2 weeks. You are told at the start what yarn to buy and what hooks you need but that is all

keepitgoing · 01/08/2016 20:41

What is a CAL?? I too like the idea of a mystery project, you must show us pasta

Gosh geek I'm sorry mrg has been so unwell , I hope he was well looked after. You poor things. Huge lots of brooking for tomorrow. Have you been feeling more movement? How exciting to find out if it's a boy or girl

I'm flipping exhausted. Dh also has a major exam in early sept so it's all go here. Am planning a couple of days off while kip is at nursery to get a proper rest day in...

imps I'm thinking more like 6/7 weeks, (!) kip came at 37+1 which is why I'm stopping work at bit earlier this time. I agree if you don't do that painting stuff now, you won't for years!!...

loopy presuming you're engrossed in shag week. Good luck x

I wonder where trix has got to

ControlGeek · 01/08/2016 19:18

Sorry for long silence, MrG's spent 10 nights in hospital for a rather scary infection so things have been a bit manic here. He came out today though so hopefully things will calm down a little now.

Ooooh all those blankets are looking amazing! I'm almost 6/10 of the way through my first one but won't be posting a photo as I never do show pics of UFOs!

20 week scan is tomorrow morning. With all the hospital hoohah I've barely had a minute to worry about it, which is probably a good thing. I'm still gutted not to have had a 16 week scan as planned though, and I'm absolutely dying to find out which team we're having - Geekling had better behave him/herself tomorrow and get in a good position to reveal all Grin

Keep that's come round so soon! Where on earth has the time gone? Beedle your painted wall looks amazing, where did you get the idea for it? Imps five flipping blankets in less time than it's taken me to do just over half of one! Impressed! Pasta well done on the CAL, I've never done one but a friend has and the result was beautiful.
