We had a trainee doing the scan so we were in there for nearly an hour, they had to send me to wee near the end as my bladder was too full! I'd only had a wee 30 mins before we Went in. Sounds awful but we were almost getting bored by the end!!!!

I've not bought the JoJo top yet Imps, perhaps it just takes a bit of practice - I was a bit that the website actually had to give instructions on how to put it on, which I guess means a lot of people struggle with it!

Not a planned cs, no, but they want to do a planned induction on my due date because I will be 40 by then (by all of two months). Like imps' friend, he couldn't give me any good reason other than it was hospital policy. Regarding my high risk due to myomectomy, he quoted my risk of rupture as being between 1 in 200 and 1 in 300 (0.33%-0.5%) - to my mind, this is rather lower than a lot of other 'standard' risks, and also a lot lower than a heck of a lot of risks associated with induction, including emergency cs - and my myo rupture risk would also increase with induction. I'm just cross that the birthing centre has been written off, since it is down the end of the corridor from the delivery suite so surely if I did need intervention I'd be 30 seconds away from it at worst?

It's good to hear that other people have successfully said no, I think I'll stick to my guns unless I'm given a reason to change my mind. I know many people have successful inductions but it really doesn't fit with how I'd like things to happen, all being well.

I've only worn my short-sleeved wrap top once so far but it does look a bit untidy at the back - not sure I've really got the hang of it yet either. But it looks ok at the front!

Loopy My WI had a breast nurse come and give a talk to us and she stressed that 98-99% of all people referred to her service (mammograms and breast screening) after finding 'something' themselves were given good news. She did also say that an appointment was always given within the fortnight, as for those remaining 1-2% it was important they get on the treatment path as quickly as possible. I know NHS trusts differ wildly, but I'm concerned they couldn't give you a timeframe when your appointment would be. It's good that you have the option to go private, and I really do hope it's nothing. FWIW, I've had boils and swollen glands in my armpits that have caused me a lot of pain, but I'm guessing the gp has ruled these out in your case. Definitely go for the interview - you could do with a bit of good news, I think!

I saw an NHS consultant yesterday who's confirmed I'm classed as high risk because of my fibroid op (though I think he would have used any excuse - he tried to say my appendectomy from when I was 9 was a huge risk factor!). I'm a bit gutted, to be honest, because they won't allow me to apply for the birthing centre and the consultant is pushing me to have lots of medical intervention in the birth, which is as far from what I want as is possible. He's not giving reasons, just that it is hospital policy. I'm of a mind that if there is a medical need for intervention then I'll happily take whatever's thrown at me, but if there is no need then why do it? FFS haven't I had enough medical interventions in this whole sodding process? Why can't I just be allowed to do something 'normally' for once?

Loopy no wonder you're scared. I'm glad you can use the private Healthcare and get seen so soon, terrible that the NHS couldn't even give you a date. i have no idea about the likelihood of it being something bad but remember you'll find far more bad stories on the internet than good ones. brooking really hard that Everything is ok and you don't have to wait too long for the results. And go to the interview, it sounds perfect for you.

And one last thing, I'm not sure if a digital mammogram is different but a normal one really squashes your boobs, I had one in February (they start at 40 here) and my boobs hurt for a day or so afterwards.

Hi all, sorry for absence but glad to see all scans have gone well.

So I'm having the worst month possible. I've had an ache in my armpit for a couple of weeks when washing my hair in the shower, dismissed it initially as thought I'd just hurt myself lifting heavy stuff in the garden. Checked my breasts last weekend for "peace of mind" but found 2 lumps in one breast and not sure about the other as even with having now lost 23 3/4lb this year they are still big boobs and always felt lumpy. GP can feel the lumps too, and NHS couldn't even give me a date for when I could be seen so am using DH's work BUPA and am booked in for this Thursday morning for a digital mammogram X-ray, ultrasound scan, and biopsies. I am convinced it is cancer as none of the innocent lumps I have read about have any mention of affecting the armpit area. In cruel timing I am due to ovulate this week I think, and I have an interview next week for a job that I have all the experience and qualifications for that would be bloody good money and be able to work from home most of the time and is keen to see me despite me not being able to work full time hours or ever get to the office before 10am. I'm really struggling as i will be 40 in October and if this is cancer then I can't see how I will have any chance to have another baby. And am scared stiff in case it has spread beyond the lymph nodes.

I'm absolutely snowed under with work at the moment but luckily its only a few weeks until the holidays start.

All done and all good. 11wks exactly. 2 hands 2 legs crossed. We got a wave!

I'm getting really scared about my scan on Wednesday, I know logically that the chance of anything being really seriously wrong is tiny. But I'm convinced that tiny chance will be us.

Wow far I've heard other stories like that it's amazing how sometimes kids just know!
N has lots of words and he's putting more and more words together to make 'sentences' . He often surprises me with the things he comes out with. He picks things up quite quickly. But he doesn't show much interest in babies even when a friend we regularly see for playdates had another!
My scan on Monday is one of my 2wkly private scans with Mr s. The other is my nhs dating/nuchal scan.

I am lucky in that I can start work early and finish on time usually, so dh does mornings but is hopelessly unreliable for evenings. Nanny might be better for you imps if you could afford. Anyway, as you say, loads of time
