Cool mushy, I honestly don't think you'll regret it, I've attached my chart from my last cycle so you can see the difference, CD 38 is when I changed and my temps went up as they seemed really low when I did it orally, then I saw a clear pattern and knew when to use my OPKs at CD63 as my temp went down and EWCM so had s feeling is ovulate and I did. Hopefully it will make things clearer for you lovely xx

I've taken your advice purple and ordered a bbt thermometer! I'll track vaginally as you suggest, hopefully I'll pick out a pattern this time!

Purpleviola14 · 20/06/2016 19:29

Lol sorry I do it all the time I really should read my text before I hit send!

Well my friend goes to a fertility acupuncturist, and she took one look at my chart and told me to temp vaginally instead of orally. So I did and it's so much clearer.
So I have 2 bbt thermometers to compare and can really see the difference. Just make sure you do it first thing in the morning before you even move around. And don't forget which ones which hahaha xx

MishyBakes · 20/06/2016 18:53

Mushy works for me purple!

Forgive me for sounding stupid, but what is the other way of monitoring bbt? Is that the special thermometer? I used the OPKs last month, and it has started to sink in that it's real and that we're officially trying!

Sorry to hear work has been rubbish marmite, hope this week is much better for you!

Purpleviola14 · 20/06/2016 18:12

Mishy! God dam auto correct xx

Purpleviola14 · 20/06/2016 18:11

Mushy yeah I do, when I started temping a couple of months ago orally my chart was all over the place, then I read switching to the other way is more accurate and it definitely helped me see the pattern and pin point ovulation.
Is it your first time using OPKs? I got so excited when I started using them lol kind of felt 'official'.

Sorry to hear you've felt down marmite, I think work stresses definitely affect your mental health and wellbeing.

Sarah I agree with Loula and Bobo, Id test just to stop yourself going crazy but ttc does have a psychological affect on you and I think you can totally convince yourself you are pregnant. When I first came off the pill I'd convinced myself I could feel a baby and something was different haha. Those little pills are buggers for playing tricks!
Fx for the girls in the tww xx

sarahhh1984 · 20/06/2016 14:39

Thanks Loula and BoBo. Smile

I'm sure you're both right and it's probably just because I'm noticing things more. All though I honestly can say I've never had week long cramping that I can recall!

I think I'll wait to see if my withdrawal bleed comes on tomorrow/Wednesday and, if the symptoms go away when it arrives, I'll leave it. If it doesn't come on or seems different to usual, then I'll do a test.

If the test is a BFN (which I would fully expect) but I still feel dreadful, I'll go speak to my GP in case there's something else going on.

I'm with you ladies though, it's probably PMS that's exaggerated because I'm paying more attention.

I'm just glad I can come on here and ask for opinions/advice as I don't really want to discuss TTC with my friends or family beyond my DH! So thank you. Smile

Hope you get that flashing smiley soon Loula!

Xx

Loulabelle1990 · 20/06/2016 14:28

I agree with bobo (ps thanks for the updated list!)

When I came off the pill, I had terrible headaches, backache, felt nauseous and stomach cramps, I was sure I was preggo but 7 months down the line it's still not happened! But, just to be sure and if it will make you feel better rather than going out your mind then take a test Smile.

I have had my 4th day of a blank circle on my CB opk! CD 16 today. I got my first flashing smiley last cycle on cd 16 but last cycle was longer so I'm hoping that's why!

BoBo90 · 20/06/2016 14:18

Marmite - it is nice to have testing buddies Smile and surely at least one of us has to get a bfp!

Sarah - The sensible rational side of me says it is highly unlikely you are upduffed while being on the pill. Nearly all of us started thinking we were pregnant in the first cycle because we are all suddenly paying so much more attention to every little twinge and niggle.
Odds are you have always had some of those symptoms pre af you just haven't been analysing them so didn't notice.

The other side of me says anything can happen when ttc! I would take a test if I were you just to be sure Grin I wouldn't assume your not pregnant based on your withdrawal bleed as it is caused by coming off the pill and not natural. I would worry that the pill could cause the bleed regardless of whether your are pg or not. Only sure way to know is to test my lovely Smile

Know I'm going to sound neurotic - and I've been determined not to be a symptom spotter, at least not at first - but I don't half feel weird.

As I've mentioned, I've had cramps all of last week which continued into the weekend. They've eased up today but they're still there. I've also had lower back pain, my boobs went bigger and heavier (much to DH's delight!) and just a little earlier I went really hot and dizzy - something that never happens to me. Confused

As I should be approaching my last withdrawal bleed tomorrow (having taken my last pill on Saturday before starting TTC) these symptoms are very unexpected as, for the last 14 years, my only PMS symptom has been some mild cramping on the day my withdrawal bleed is due. I'm starting to wonder if I could have, by some miracle, conceived in the last month while still on the pill. We have DTD a lot in the last few weeks as it was our first wedding anniversary.

I'm just sceptical as it just seems highly unlikely to me that I would have managed to get pregnant on the pill after 14 years without even the slightest hiccup. But it also seems bizarre that my PMS symptoms would suddenly change after 14 years on the very last month of taking the pill.

Does anyone think it's worth doing a test tomorrow morning just in case? Or wait to see if my withdrawal bleed comes on when it's due? It's usually like clockwork, either the Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. So I suppose it could be worth just waiting and seeing, but any advice would be appreciated!

marmitetoast1 · 20/06/2016 08:15

Thanks for the list Bobo! Nice to know I have some buddies just a few days behind me in the 2ww Bobo and Claire
No other symptoms so far purple, just plenty of what Ovia terms 'school glue' CM which is what would expect at this point in cycle either way! Had an totally shit day at work on Friday and been a bit down about that all weekend though so at least have been somewhat distracted from symptom spotting!

sarahhh1984 · 20/06/2016 07:44

Thanks for updating the list BoBo!

I'm not using a proper bbt thermometer, but I do check my temp with a digital one, so accurate to one decimal place. To be honest, I don't see a pattern. At the moment it varies from 36.4 to 36.9 C. May invest in one if the next few cycles aren't successful, see if there's something I'm missing! Do you check yours purple?

Will start using the OPKs this week, (yay!).

Purpleviola14 · 19/06/2016 23:14

Hi Johno and mushy, aww cool we can be ov buddies Smile well this is my second cycle, my last was 2.5 months long, so I'm hoping this will settle down a lot quicker fx. My cycles before pill were regular as clockwork every 28 days . I used to never get spots even before pill but since stopping I've got quite a few too, boo!

Marmite sounds promising, you had any other symptoms?

Mishy are you temping too? What are they doing?

Xx

BoBo90 · 19/06/2016 22:00

Lou I'm not symptom spotting yet but I'm sure it won't be long before I am haha!

Jj I don't blame you! Its too expensive to use the shop ones too early in the tww! The internet cheapie aren't always as sensitive but you can at least use loads of them to satisfy the poas cravings haha

OP posts:
Jjspoon · 19/06/2016 20:12

bobo I was only going to try and wait until 15dpo because I have one test and I'm too cheap to buy another if i test early and get a no lol but I doubt I'll be patient enough to wait that long and probably just buy more. Think I'll invest in some cheaper ones next cycle in bfn so can test earlier :)

Jjspoon · 19/06/2016 20:09

There is absolutely no way I could hold my wee for 4 hours lol so cheapy ones not going to be any good for me, you don't have to hold it that long for clearblue do you?! I've got a weak bladder as it is Blush. I had an ultrasound a few years ago because of my bladder problems and had to drink a pint of water 2 hours before then hold it til the scan... not looking forward to doing that again! I was so thankful they were running on time lol

MishyBakes · 19/06/2016 19:50

I plan on using CB dual digital in the morning, and a boots generic one in the afternoon after a 4 hour hold. I'm just curious to see if either of them can pick out a LH surge, as I didn't have one last month. It sounds like you're much more relaxed than I am marmite!

marmitetoast1 · 19/06/2016 19:06

Thanks Mishy, we shall see! What opks are you planning on using?

marmitetoast1 · 19/06/2016 19:04

I'm not temping johno - going with the 'relaxed approach' at the moment Hmm

MishyBakes · 19/06/2016 19:01

I'm on cd8 purple and johno, so all very close together! I'm planning to start OPKs on Wednesday, fx for ovulation this month.

Sounds exciting marmite, hope it's a good sign!

Johno85 · 19/06/2016 18:32

Hah I do it constantly! What's your temps doing? Could be implantation- lets go with that Grin

marmitetoast1 · 19/06/2016 18:29

Ha johno, I know. Just the usual chat in my head! CD24, 5/6 days past Ov (I think)

Johno85 · 19/06/2016 18:24

Pah marmite I love the self chat there! What cd you on?
