Cheeky I've had infections every month for the last two years so I'm quite ingrained into taking it now- the fear of another infection is so bad that I'd never sleep if I didn't take it!! The fear of an infection also comes back if I don't get up to pee immediately after having sex (which is dead helpful whilst TTC!!) but I'm learning to live with it and no ill effects so far despite the four days in a row (so much for OH saying he wanted to "save sperm up so you have a boy"!!)

Fingers crossed for a mega line on Sat Prosecco!! I will also have my fingers crossed that I get a string OPK line by then too!!

ProseccoKiss · 27/04/2016 16:12

Sorry, worded that wrong!!! I'm going to retest on Sat when AF is due!! I just hope she doesn't turn up!!! xxx

ProseccoKiss · 27/04/2016 16:11

Thank you all - I really hope it's a BFP!! It doesn't feel real so I'm going to retest -everyday until AF- on Saturday!!

everdene · 27/04/2016 16:07

Congratulations Prosecco - our first thread BFP!!
ThanksBrewSmile

redstrawberries101 · 27/04/2016 15:29

Lucy - it was my urologist who actually suggested it but by coincidence I was seeing an alternative practioner at the time and she had recommended d mannose by biotech. I'm quite lazy at taking it unless I'm having a flare up but when I miscarried I was actually in Hosp for a horrible UTI which turned sepsis. They said it contributed to the miscarriage but was not the sole cause. I should really learn my lesson!

hanflan · 27/04/2016 15:08

I can see a line Prosecco! Congratulations!

Lucy1308 · 27/04/2016 13:47

I too can see a line Prosecco!! And I'm notorious for not being able to even on tests I've got infront of me!! Congrats!!

Cheeky yeah it seems to be doing the trick at the moment, although my Urologist looked at me funny when I told him yesterday! Pleased I've found a cheap source of it on eBay!!

redstrawberries101 · 27/04/2016 13:34

Proseco I can see a line!!! Congratulations!!!!'

Lucy - I wondered as I take it too for recurrent infections!

ProseccoKiss · 27/04/2016 13:31

Hi all, my ETD is not until 30th but had the urge to test about half hour ago. I have an early response Superdrug test and I know you're meant to take it first thing in the morning but it was just there and I tested!! Can anyone see a line?? xxx

Lucy1308 · 27/04/2016 11:08

Greetings to all the new faces!! Fingers crossed for hundreds upon hundreds of BFPs this month!!!

Cheeky I take D Mannose for recurrent cystitis which seems to have settled whilst on it so hopefully it is working!! Although consultant says that recurrent cystitis is often fixed by getting pregnant so no excuse now haha!

SpreadOnToast · 26/04/2016 21:56

Hello to all the new joiners on the bus! Hope this is the lucky bus for you! Star

As others have said the Sperm Meets Egg Plan is DTD every other day from CD8 and then every day for 3/4 days from +OPK. There is a website that explains it in a really straightforward way, it will come up right away if googling SMEP. I only heard of it last cycle.

I'm only on CD2 so will start DTD EOD from bank holiday monday until OV. Hope the OPKs do help work out when OV is coming. I have tried monitoring CM for EWCM previously and it worked for DS1 but didn't work last month (cycle 1) so wondering if I'm ov-ing when I think I'm ov-ing.

Good luck to those on the bus due to be testing on Monday! Fingers crossed for you Kellz and Nimisha

Is anyone due to be testing before?

How's everyone feeling?

everdene · 26/04/2016 20:30

Welcome all!

Fingers crossed for BFPs all round in May.

It seems to be really hotting up on this thread now.

redstrawberries101 · 26/04/2016 18:58

Hi can I join please?! Had a missed miscarriage in January at 12 weeks (fell preg on cycle 1). Took it easy for a couple of months - didn't prevent but didn't dtd much as didn't feel ready. So I'll count march/April as my first cycle TTC.

Name - cheeky
TTC - #1
Age - 26
Cycle 2
ETD - approx 9th may!

Lucy you mentioned d mannose, can I ask why you take that? Is it supposed to help fertility??

SoozC · 26/04/2016 15:55

Hi All, I'm joining from the April bus. Another month!

My DP would have trouble with the SMEP - he's 47 and says he just doesn't have the stamina anymore! I'm aiming for every third day and every other during my fertile window. See if that has any effect! I'd really love not to have another sad few days when I get AF. I didn't think it would hit me so hard.

CarrotVan · 26/04/2016 14:37

Signing in having been booted off the April bus

CarrotVan, 36, ttc2, ds1 (3yo), cycle 2 after a mc enforced break, etd 16th May

jpeg28 · 26/04/2016 14:24

Good luck to everyone in the TWW! I'm on cd5 first cycle since MC and my af is showing now signs of stopping! Want to try the SMEP this month... I'm not telling my OH that it's a 'plan' as it will put him off... I'll have to pretend I'm just being spontaneous! Ha

GinandJazzHands · 26/04/2016 13:25

Welcome joy, sorry to hear about your MC and all the best for this cycle. The two week wait drives me nuts too. That said my cycles have been so long so far that I try and remember how annoying it is waiting for OV too! Fx this is your month Flowers

Joydgreen88 · 26/04/2016 12:32

Hey everyone! Thought I'd join in as I know how helpful these kind of threads are when in the dreaded two week wait!

I'm 27 and ttc #1
First cycle after a miscarriage last September. Will be testing around the 9th, and I just know how long this wait is going to be! Good luck to everyone Smile

Lucy1308 · 26/04/2016 12:15

We are also planning on doing SMEP- OH is very keen. Although last night he did turn over with his serious face on and say "do you think it is classed as cheating if we do it more than every other day before you ovulate?" Haha! Bless him- think he's taking this all very seriously whilst I lay back and enjoy myself haha! I have however caved and bought many many one step OPKs and HPTs from Amazon- I justified it by saying its a bargain at £15 for 60 OPKs and 10 HPTs!!

GinandJazzHands · 26/04/2016 11:15

I've also bought a load of cheapo one step pregnancy tests to manage my POAS addiction which I know will kick in over the bank holiday weekend!

GinandJazzHands · 26/04/2016 11:13

Sorry AF arrived spread and all the best for this cycle! I also use the one step cheapies from Amazon and have had no issues with them but I have found it best to start using them twice a day approaching when you might be ovulating. Thanks for sorting the stats sunny - I'm 6dpo today and etd is now 4 May. I'd love to try Smep properly but not sure DH is up to it!

Seahawk80 · 26/04/2016 11:07

Me too everdene - exciting but nervous! DH was too tired yest - first time that's ever happened Confused

everdene · 26/04/2016 10:36

I didn't get to have an extra Dtd with DH - he clearly wanted a bit of peace Wink and I thought, well, it is only month one so let's not lose enthusiasm already as it'll be a long road, I imagine!

Cycle Day 16 here, entering my first tww.
