Hi (big wave)
So you clicked on here because you were looking for me (I'm flattered!) or the title seemed interesting!
I'm aware it doesn't really explain anything but we are bunch of lovely ladies all TTC and going ever so slightly crazy with it! For more info see our original thread here -

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2412386-TTC-anxious-over-early-pregnancy-possible-symptoms?msgid=56357000#56357000

And our most recent thread here -

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2531973-Christmas-is-here-but-its-not-the-turkey-thats-getting-basted-with-symptoms-to-spot-and-festive-cheer-Prty-and-the-gang-are-getting-BFPS-this-year?pg=39&order=

We are symptoms spotters extraordinaire - you name it we've had it, real and/or imagined Confused
We are here to help, we are all supportive, we laugh, rant, cry, joke, rage, smile, and comfort together. Be you a lurker or poster (established or new) then you are very welcome here. We only have a few rules:

  1. No judgement - we all lead different lives and have different standards and that is fine. You wanna get wasted everyday of TWW, that's fine. You wanna abstain completely, that's fine. We need support, not judgement.
  2. No feeling stupid - we've all had those months where we definitely think we are pg 110% convinced and then AF turns up, don't feel bad about it, it happens. Also we all have different levels of knowledge so no question is stupid apart from the one you don't ask.
  3. On this thread there is no such thing as TMI - we are all adults and we all know how miraculous and amazing... and downright disgusting our bodies can be, it's fine. Share what you want, we will not be fazed.
  4. This thread is intended for support - both giving and receiving. If someone helps you then please be kind and return that to another TTCer.

So that's it, jump in and FX'd for all of my lovelies xx

Welcome karry - as you've been told this is a really lovely supportive thread - it's really helped me. Sorry to hear you've had such a bad time of it. Fingers crossed for you this time.
prty - that's is so utterly rubbish - I am frustrated for you. I honestly think some doctors and nurses in local surgeries do not have the first clue about ttc and should not be allowed to advise anyone.
snowy glad the dtd was good Grin, that might have done the trick!
4 dpo here - think same as you prty? I have absolutely no delusions about getting a bfp this month - we dtd at the right time as usual but hey after nearly 2 years that means nothing to get excited about does it? The only thing I've done differently this cycle is take Royal Jelly and co enzyme q10. I know I'll get the urge to test though - I just can't help myself

karryk · 28/04/2016 08:46

Morning, snowy (and everyone else!)

Of course you can ask dear Smile

I'm a bit vague on the science of it all but screening showed that although my immune system is fine in general, when pregnant, it gets aggressive and attacks the embryo as it thinks it's an invader. So I'm seeing Mr Shehata who is one of a few docs in the country that advocate a treatment regime in the early months of pregnancy to help suppress the immune system until the foetus is developed enough to cope / your body accepts it.

Wishing everyone a lovely Thursday...I can almost see the weekend from here! Grin

snowy1982 · 28/04/2016 08:43

Fingers crossed Prty although we did start out pretty well. TMI time, but you know how sometimes FW DTD can feel like a chore at times, this was definitely not one of those times. Maybe it was the low expectations I had due to us both being sick, but was some of the best DTD in a long time Smile

Not feeling too much pressure this cycle (although of course i will still be upset if it doesn't happen) as we are going to France in July for a holiday that includes a family wedding, so timing wise it would probably be best not to be successful until after that. Still going to try my best though

PrtyPsn · 28/04/2016 07:34

pirsy no appointments left, next weeks aren't released until tomorrow, same old story with them :( I don't want the GP to say bloods need redoing because I've tried my hardest to get the nurses to listen so I'll be really cross if I'm back to square one after having two arguments with two different nurses Angry
snowy it sucks when FW falls so inconveniently, hopefully you can make the most of it

snowy1982 · 28/04/2016 06:57

Seems I missed abit the last couple days (am back to getting no notifications of any posts).

FW is well underway, started well but with sickiness still lingering for me and DH and both of us having a lot on this week I don't know how much DTD we will get in, hoping for another 2 attempts which would be 3 in the FW but who knows if things will go to plan.

snowy1982 · 28/04/2016 06:54

karry hope you don't mind me asking, but what did you mean by immune system issues?

Prty your nurse definitely doesn't know what she's talking about, my GP specifically told me if that 'day 21' tests move due to cycle length.

Pirsy yeah for appointment Smile

Pirsy1 · 27/04/2016 22:20

and I forgot to say that this forum is the best and had the most supportive group of ladies around Smile

Pirsy1 · 27/04/2016 22:17

Glitter that is brill news! I am so happy for you! Finally moving forward and 17th May is only a few weeks away.

Yes Prty you need to be assertive. Hopefully you will get a good GP. When are you seeing the doctor - have they made you an appointment?

Welcome karry! Sounds like you have had a tough time. Fingers crossed for some good news soon.

glitterpoppy · 27/04/2016 22:16
  • good enough not old enough!!
glitterpoppy · 27/04/2016 22:16

prty sorry it's been difficult with the DR's recently, it's so annoying. Some of the people at the doctors / hospitals have no care at all. I'd definitely sit there until they can tell you what's going on! If there's anything I've learnt it's that you have to complain and say it's just not old enough for any progress at all otherwise they just fob you off and keep you waiting!!

karryk · 27/04/2016 22:04

Thanks, glitter and prty Smile

It's a wonky old road I've been travelling on but I'm cheered up at having found this forum x

Glitter - af is due this Sunday/Monday so I've decided to just sit and wait...unless something drastic happens before then i.e. boobs undergo massive expansion and I just can't help myself Wink

PrtyPsn · 27/04/2016 20:51

pirsy I'm not leaving my GPs room until I get some definite action - it's beyond a joke. I'm really unhappy about the day 21 thing and kinda upset that she couldn't even tell me what low oestrogen meant!
karry welcome, my lovely xx you are more than welcome here :) sounds like you've had a rough ride so far, here's hoping things start to ease for you
glitter excellent news!

Hi karry you're welcome to join us here all the ladies are lovely!!
Sounds like you've been through it abit! Keeping my fingers crossed for you this time, you're not out until AF shows! When are you going to test again?

glitterpoppy · 27/04/2016 20:33

Well I've had progress at last I put a complaint into the patient liaison at the hospital about having to wait 5 months for the results and they have investigated my case and they have given me an appointment on the 17th may at a different hospital! Finally, so glad it's earlier Smile

karryk · 27/04/2016 20:30

Hello all Smile

Mind if I join in?? I need somewhere to sit and stuff my face with a virtual chocolate bar while just having a bit (well a lot) of a vent Blush Chocolate

A bit of info:

Age: 39 (in June, but it's as good as being here...feel a bit fraudulent saying I'm 38!)

History: complex Grin

I was one of those young 'uns that thought I'd be married and with kiddies by 30 tops. Unfortunately, I met loser after loser and it wasn't until the grand age of 37 that I finally met my rather lovely dh (definitely worth the wait). Rewind a couple of years and after my periods went from running like clockwork to totally all over the place, I was diagnosed with a partial transverse vaginal septum Confused. It's a congenital defect which affects 1 in 75,000. Why I couldn't have won the lottery instead I don't know but hey Hmm ! Cut a long story short, I had an operation at UCLH to have it removed and then spent a delightful 5 months inserting a variety of plastic dilators into my vaginal canal (as delightful as it sounds) to prevent scar tissue formation.

Back to last year and very happily married Smile. Started ttc. Had a suspected chemical in July '15. A definite chemical in September '15 (at my cousin's hen weekend of all times...spent most of it in the loo) and then got pregnant later that month only to have a mmc in November '15 at around 8 weeks.

I'm now seeing Mr Shehata privately. My GP and others told me to just keep trying but I decided that in view of my age, and just having a hunch that something wasn't right, I went ahead and parted with the moolah. I not only found out about immune system issues but hypothyroidism (which my grump of a GP refuses to treat). I'd always imagined myself to be fairly fit and healthy so it all came as a bit of a shock Sad

We started ttc again this month and I'm just a few days away from af, having had horrid spotting for a fair few days. My abdomen is all bloated and I just know that this isn't the usual pre-period spotting. I haven't got the heart to test again though (had a negative test at 10dpo). So I'm just sitting here being a bit of a mope, waiting impatiently for next month!

Okay, essay over Blush I'm now exiting my pity-party and ready to mingle!! Wink

Pirsy1 · 27/04/2016 18:57

Sounds horrendous Prty and she is wrong about the day 21 bloods. Definitely wrong. I think you need to push for referral to a hospital clinic when you speak to the GP or get a different GP surgery. Not sure about the oestrogen level - maybe normal to have lowish oestrogen at the start of a cycle. I wouldn't be too worried.

PrtyPsn · 27/04/2016 18:05

Fucking abysmal pirsy would you trust a nurses views on women's health when they don't even know what a Mooncup is?!
She disagreed about day 21 - said they guidelines don't say anything about adjusting for cycle length :/ she took my bloods even though I argued that I'm only 3dpo so I reckon those results will be inaccurate...
Everything was normal on day 5 bloods - LH level fine, prolactin fine, no thyroid issues, diabetes or anaemia but my oestrogen was low.
Nurse said she doesn't know what that means... have to try and get in to see my GP when the next lot of bloods are back

Hi, I'm feeling a bit better now. Realise there are plenty of people with more serious things to worry about than me. Gotta hold my head up and keep on going. How did you get on with the nurse Prty?

Pirsy1 · 27/04/2016 07:33

Thanks Snowy and Kitten. You're def right about some months it hitting you worse than others. I havent felt this bad since my last meltdown in November. AF is here now anyway. I just feel like 'what is wrong with me?!' and I wish I could just escape from my life for a while and have a break.

PrtyPsn · 27/04/2016 07:32

hippy a short post just wouldn't suit you Grin
ninja sorry to hear of AF x
pirsy big hugs, the strain of TTC gets the better of all of us sometimes, I'm sure DH understands x
Back to docs today for my day 21 even though it's not my day 21 :/ seeing someone different than day 5 so will explain the whole thing again and see what they say!

OP posts:
MrsKittenPie · 26/04/2016 22:40

pirsy - so sorry you're having a bad time lovely. Ttc puts us under so much pressure, it's horrible. Dh and I have had some of our worst rows recently and I believe it's the ttc pressure. You will be okay, like prty said sometimes it hits you more than other times. Try to stay positive, it might not even be pmt, you never know. I totally get the so sick of it thing though - I am too. Big hug for you

snowy1982 · 26/04/2016 22:13

Pirsy I'm sure DH won't get too annoyed, he is bound to know how hard this is for you. We all have those cycles that tend to push us over the edge, I seem to have one every 3 months or so. The rest of the time I can cope with the disappointment reasonably well, but every few months or just really hits hard

Pirsy1 · 26/04/2016 21:26

Having a meltdown. This is the worst pmt I've had in a long time. Just screamed at my DH that I hate him. I think TTC has broken me.

MrsKittenPie · 26/04/2016 14:19

Hi everyone
prty - sorry you're feeling down, a meltdown is totally acceptable, you're right - there is only so many baby bombs and bfns we can take sometimes. Don't feel guilty for the wine etc - you deserve a treat, to be honest I still have alcohol- i can't put my life on hold for something that I don't think will happen for me.
hippy - so lovely to hear from you, I love your epic long posts.
glitter - how infuriating for you.
snowy - good luck for your fw
ninja - sorry about af, onwards and upwards
pirsy - hopefully that feeling doesn't mean af, I know what you mean though, I was thinking before I'm not going to take this month's let down well at all and I'm running out of ways to deal with it
