So AF got me this afternoon!! Trying not to get down in the dumps (although I just watched 'one born every minute' on catch-up and sobbed!)
Dusting myself off and hoping for better luck in April! A few stats:
Age-33
TTC-5th cycle
DC-1 DS (3.5 years old)
Anyone else at the start of their cycle and trying something new in the hope of a more successful month?!

Confused over here - I use two BBT trackers - FF and ovagraph. One says ovulation, one doesn't. I don't see the pattern and was assuming anovulatory cycle. Guess I will just chalk the confusion up to the high fever I ran around the same time.

Bring on next month when we start to properly try! My poor husband, he really doesn't know what he's in for with me becoming obsessive (or maybe he already knows!)...

broodypsycho · 31/03/2016 17:01

I've heard brazils nut are good as well Zoe as well as pineapple for implantation. I wasn't going to stay ttc until January 2016 but so glad I stayed trying Mat 2015 and it's taking longer than expected..

ZoeNotAMumYet · 31/03/2016 16:24

Hello, I am getting ready to TTC next year and mainly lurking and reading to learn what I can. I hope you don't mind me joining and following your journeys. :-) age 30 ttc#1Brazil nuts is a good tip! :-)

broodypsycho · 31/03/2016 16:15

Thanks, I do hope I get a bfp cos broody psycho by name, broody psycho by nature Grinim not an early tester or symptom spotter though, I just hate everyone who is pregnant Hmm I've unfollowed a half dozen of people on face book. I wouldn't reply on opk either, check cervical mucus too. I've been doing that this month and I'm much more confident at identifying my fertile window Smile

Tee4me · 31/03/2016 11:22

Yay Mimilicious, so glad to see you here 😘 Hope we have better luck this month

On the days I do x2, I tend to do the first at 2pm (apparently the optimum time), then again in the evening around 7 or 8pm. I tend to find I start with a faint line which gets darker a day or 2 before I get my strong positive, so I'm lucky to get good warning, I know that's not true for everyone. I agree when you got the 'nearly positive', if you had retested later that evening you would have had the full positive! The surge would have finished when you tested again at 2pm the next day, so probably already ovulating. Looking at my temps in relation to my +opk over the last few months, I think I ovulate the day after.
I find that I am at my most relaxed when doing the opks (compared to how I feel in the 2ww), it doesn't make me feel too obsessed, just that I have something to focus on rather than wishing time away. It's the one time in the cycle when you know things are happening (assuming you don't have ovulation issues), so it's the only time I actually feel in control! 😊

Baby dust to all ladies

Parney · 31/03/2016 10:43

Very informative Tee, thanks for the links. What times do you use OKP when on the days you use two? I had tried 2pm a few days last month and got an almost positive one day then at the same time the following day it has faded. Makes sense to think that I might have got the positive had I been testing later as well!

The baby aspirin can't hurt especially if it was advised for your sister after her losses. Glad to hear her happy ending too.

I've already come round to the idea of a January baby, like you any time would be good.

RememberToSmile1980 · 31/03/2016 10:31

Parney
I didn't want to rely on the OPK's as I know it takes you to a route of obsession - but oh well! Anything to help track things better!

RememberToSmile1980 · 31/03/2016 10:29

Thank you for the info Tee. One of my friends also took baby aspirin after a MC and then went on to have a healthy pregnancy!

Tee4me · 31/03/2016 09:07

This is my understanding of the use of baby aspirin... a possible cause of miscarriage or chemical pregnancy is a sticky/thickened lining, which could make it hard for a fertilised egg to implant. I think aspirin helps this process and makes the lining more suitable for a burrowing egg. My sister had 5 mcs and the doctor recommended this while she awaited investigative tests, 5 weeks later she fell with my niece! I wouldn't take it if it weren't for the mc though, and even now I feel a bit apprehensive doing it without docs orders 😳😳😳 Does anyone else have better info than me about this?

It's so hard to relax isn't it? I've wondered about baby aspirin too? I need to get back to the gym, I've bought a countdown with slimming world so hoping weekly weigh ins will keep me on track too. Interesting about the fat cells and depo asks, fingers x that this will speed things up.

Remember and Songs, I'm going to try OPKs this month too. I've a sneaky feeling that I might become a bit obsessive though 😖

Tee4me · 31/03/2016 08:55

Morning everybody, welcome new joiners!
Parney I was desperate for 2016 baba, was already thinking about finishing up work in November (currently in a stop gap job that I'm not enjoying!) Early Jan isn't the most ideal due date, but I'm past worrying too much about that and just want it to happen.
Ask that's bad that your doc didn't explain the subsequent impact on fertility!! I remember my doc going through all the pros and cons and I ruled the injection out for that reason. Hope things settle down quickly for you.
Broody hoping you are our first BFP!!
I defo would recommend doing opks (v cheap on Amazon) I start them a couple of days after AF stops, then increase to twice daily around CD10. This, together with charting BBT, really helps me pinpoint when I ovulate.

Extras to add to glossary
BBT - basal body temp
OPK - ovulation predictor kit
DH/DP/OH - dear husband/partner/other half
IC - Internet cheapy (preg test)
BFP/N - big fat positive/negative
BD - baby dance (same as DTD)
DPO - days post ovulation

Here's a link to the opks I use:
www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0071MSEH6/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?qid=1459410762&sr=8-3&pi=SX200_QL40&keywords=one+step+ovulation+test&dpPl=1&dpID=41NucQEhJiL&ref=plSrch

And here's a link to the chart I print off every month to chart BBT:

Hey Parney, no I'm not doing OPKs this month. I have done them previously but thought maybe I should try to relax a little Blush I'm already finding it hard.

Hey songs Smile I've started the gym again & a log book for my food - the diets already begun here lol. I read last night that the more fat cells you have the longer it can take for depo shot to leave your body as it clings to fat Shock so I'm on it now!

Sorry remember, I'm not sure about aspirin, but am also interested to know why it's use?

RememberToSmile1980 · 31/03/2016 08:31

Morning ladies
I think I'm going to get myself some OPK's this month and use them regularly to try and figure out when I am actually ovulating. I've noticed some of you are using aspirin. Is this only because of the MC's ladies? Xx

Songsandstitches · 31/03/2016 00:26

Please can I join?

Age -33
TTC - #2
DD -2
Cycle - 3
CD- 11

I really thought it might have worked last month but the witch got me a few days late and I have just finished the longest AF ever - 9 days (normally 5). Going to try £ cheapy OPKS this month. If the new approach doesn't work- it's diet time for me. I think everyone I know is pregnant at the moment and u am trying desperately to be a nice person and not a green eyed monster!!! Xx

Parney · 30/03/2016 23:40

Sorry posted early, with some random words?!

Meant to say that I did a few random OPKs last month but will be more diligent this time.

Parney · 30/03/2016 23:34

I think I credit the blanket as I'd been geared up for an almighty wait for AF to show in the first place after doing lots of reading on MN! Blush cringe all the same!! Have you been using OPKs? I dus a ran

AskPrayHope · 30/03/2016 23:26

Thanks Parney Smile

My last injection was January last year. Periods started again in September but no luck unfortunately - they are regular though. But I think my hormones may be out of sync.

Lol to sleeping on an electric blanket - but if it works Wink

Parney · 30/03/2016 23:22

Sorry Ask, I'm just reading back and see your stats. See that you're not waiting for AF and what cycle you're on.

Parney · 30/03/2016 23:18

Ah that makes sense now Ask. I wasn't sure! When did you have your last injection? I have a friend who had used this method for a while and afterwards was advised to go on the pill for a bit to regulate her cycles. She wasn't TTC though! The pill can also mess with cycles when you come off too. I was nervous when I came off at the end of January, AF came back properly though at the end of feb unexpectedly after sleeping on an electric blanket all night 😂 not sure if this was connected. The witch came back to visit me Monday too so hopefully I'm back to pre pill cycles. Are you still waiting on AF? Positive vibes your way Ask.

AskPrayHope · 30/03/2016 23:05

Tee & Parney, the depo provera is a contraception injection. You get it every 12 weeks, 99.9% effective, & stops periods... Sounds to good to be true? Yep Sad

Unfortunately what they don't tell you is when you want to TTC it may take 2 years for fertility to come back...

Wouldn't recommend it & would never do it again.

Parney · 30/03/2016 23:04

Hopefully you will have no need for tears, you're still in with a chance! AF better not step in and ruin the first potential BFP of the thread! Chin up BroodyPsycho! Love the name 😂

broodypsycho · 30/03/2016 22:56

Age 27
Cycle 10
Ttc #1
CD 25
Af due in 6 days
I'm down in the dumps too, I had a hycosy this month so my hopes are up but no doubt that witch af will show. I haven't cried yet but this month I will. I can feel it.

Parney · 30/03/2016 22:20

Tee I had my maternity leave and all calculated last month 🙈 didn't factor in scans though, so now I'm off to figure that out should we conceive this month! Imagine we'd have similar due dates if we all got lucky. Although I kind of had myself geared up for a 2016 baba! Not sure what post depo is either? Interested! Welcome everyone!
