So AF got me this afternoon!! Trying not to get down in the dumps (although I just watched 'one born every minute' on catch-up and sobbed!)
Dusting myself off and hoping for better luck in April! A few stats:
Age-33
TTC-5th cycle
DC-1 DS (3.5 years old)
Anyone else at the start of their cycle and trying something new in the hope of a more successful month?!

Sorry just seen your are on cd8.... Maybe start tomorrow. 2pm is optimum time but can be done between 12 and 8pm. Sometimes you need to do more than one a day though.

raddersmrs · 06/04/2016 20:09

Hi remember!
Smep recommends testing from cd10... However if you think you ovulate early maybe try a bit earlier? Cd8 or something.

If I don't ovulate until Friday then my lp will only be 10/11 days if I have a 26 day cycle again. That's not really long enough is it? Hopefully it is 28 days like the one before

RememberToSmile1980 · 06/04/2016 19:17

Hi ladies
Have not been active the last couple of days. Hope you're all doing well!
I just wanted to ask - I have ordered OPK's that have arrived today!
I have a feeling I ovulate early - when is it best to start using them? I know it is generally 14 days from when AF ends,or am I wrong??? Advise please. I am currently CD8!

Parney · 06/04/2016 18:10

Kate I always wonder how people get things done with babies, although I am looking forward to finding out!! Well deserved break, 70 hours Shock Sounds like you're very busy. Make the most of the final few days they go so quickly!

Tee4me · 06/04/2016 17:44

You might be right there Radders! Looks like you've caught your full positive after all! You'll ovulate tomorrow or Friday I suspect 👏🏻👏🏻

Radders - no idea about OPKs. I just ordered some for next month!

physicskate · 06/04/2016 17:26

Parney, I'm really dreading going back... but it will be an excellent distraction from this stuff! I haven't been missing the 70 hour weeks during these weeks off (even though I have been doing a couple hours work most days)! I really don't know how I would do it with a little one in tow! Only one FT mum of young 'uns at my school!

raddersmrs · 06/04/2016 17:18

Still showing really dark so think I must've been on my way up to a surge yesterday. Is it normal for it to stay high for this long???

raddersmrs · 06/04/2016 17:12

That would be make cry at the best of times Kate anyway!

I love seeing test pictures too ... It's nice to compare haha

I'm feeling good but think it's because I'm not in the two week wait yet. That's when I turn into a woman possessed Confused

physicskate · 06/04/2016 16:15

Ah feeling very very emotional today! Yay PMS must be here! Starting to tear up at the silliest things, like a programme where they used a shock collar to train a dog! If that Lloyd's advert comes on I'm done for!!

Parney · 06/04/2016 16:03

My bad, reading back now and see its you Jod with the BFP!

Delighted your OPK so strong though Radders, hopefully it will be a BFP soon!

Parney · 06/04/2016 15:59

Physickate Easter holidays ended for us on Monday. Being back in work is a great distraction though!

Radders!!!! Aaaahhh that's brilliant, positive vibes your way. Does anyone else just love looking at the test pictures? or am I the only saddo here?

physicskate · 06/04/2016 13:53

I've just ordered my first batch of cheapie ov tests and pregnancy tests! Oh and a set of FRERs to have around... just in case! Easter holiday ends for me this weekend... boo! Hours of work to do before I get back to work though! poo! Might prove a boring, but pleasant distraction for me though...

Yay for watery CM!

raddersmrs · 06/04/2016 13:50

Geeky is good with all this information we need to know. With us all knowing a bit we will have BFP in no time!

My CM has turned watery now .. Just to keep you informed!

Jod1985 · 06/04/2016 13:04

Thanks ladies. I'm in shock and disbelief. Keep looking at the test. I haven't told DH yet as I want to see a more definite test first. Will test again Friday morning I think.

physicskate · 06/04/2016 12:26

Don't see why not! There should still be selenium in them!

BTW, I know I am a massive science nerd (the clue is in my name), so sorry when I get all geeky!

raddersmrs · 06/04/2016 12:13

Does that include Brazil nuts covered in chocolate?? I love them Halo

Tee4me · 06/04/2016 11:37

Ah that's makes sense, thanks physicskate! Think mine is usually 15 days.
I know what you mean about cracking on with the next month, sometimes AF is a relief because you just want to start afresh and give it your best.
It was mentioned earlier in the thread, but pineapple and brazil nuts are supposed to facilitate implantation. I've stocked up, can't hurt! x

OP posts:
physicskate · 06/04/2016 10:42

Longer LP allows for implantation, which can take 6-11 days from fertilisation. If your LP is too short, you may have a fertilised egg that can't implant because AF has already started. So 8 days LP is bad, which is what I had last cycle, so I started taking a low dose of vit B6 (along with B12, which I heard helps B6). Not that I am any expert; April is our first month TTC, though we've had a few months of 'not' not trying...

I didn't have sex within a week of ovulation (either side) cause I was away and then my parents were here, so really I would be very surprised if this were the month, in fact I really just want to get waiting for next month! Growing very annoyed with my body!

Tee4me · 06/04/2016 10:22

Jod all looking extremely positive for you!! Keep us updated and send us your baby dust!! xx

OP posts:
Tee4me · 06/04/2016 10:21

Sorry to hear the physicskate, but you never know!
Seen lots of references to a long LP being better than a short one, why is that?? It's not been on my radar when TTC, maybe it should be!
Word of warning to the baby aspirin takers out there... I've come out in a rash all over my torso and neck 😞 Thought I had chicken pox at first, but after lots of digging, it sounds very consistent with petechiae (little burst capillaries under the skin) which is a complication of taking blood thinners. Think I will cut down to 1 low dose every 3 days. Will try and get to the docs later to go through everything with them including my mc in March, probably better it's all on the record. Hope I don't get told off for taking aspirin without doc supervision!! xx

physicskate · 06/04/2016 10:01

Jod that is fantastically amazing! There is a faint shimmer of a line that wouldn't be there if the hormone wasn't there! I hope it gets darker over the next couple of days!

Still no AF here... CD34 but only 11 dpo, which is nice that my LP has increased from 8 days last month but aggravating at the same time! I would think about testing when I got to 14 dpo, as that is a normal LP. Feels like AF is on her way though!

raddersmrs · 06/04/2016 09:30

This is opk on FMU this morning ... Came up straight away!

Back to SQUARE ONE CD1! Anyone want to spend April with me?!
raddersmrs · 06/04/2016 09:15

Congrats Jod!
There's definitely a faint line. I could only see it in the negative photo... Good tip!
When will you test again to see a darker line?
You must be super fertile!!

Footprints1 · 06/04/2016 08:49

Wow Jod there's definitely a line there!! Congrats and you are soooo lucky to get it first month after coil.
3am.. What are u like!! You must have been rubbing your eyes to see it.SmileSmileSmileThanks

You must be thrilled. Test again tomorrow and I'm sure the line will be darker, or try the opk if u have one as they are suppose to come up positive too.
