IG - take a deep breath and console yourself in the fact that there are many screwed up people in this world and it's easiest to ignore them one by one....sorry for you that you had to read such shit

madmarchhare · 08/01/2007 16:17

was trying to think of something clever to say but I think Ill just

IntergalacticWalrus · 08/01/2007 16:17

You are fucking weird

justJAM · 08/01/2007 16:17

Simao - no one is saying it's not fucked up to trick a man this way, but referring to rape in the same post is outrageous!!! You really need to re think your comparison IMO it's despicable

Simao · 08/01/2007 16:15

Supply some kind of rigourous accademic study that examines the affects of each. If you cannot then you are dealing in opinion and conjecture.

You are partisan. Enter a man into the woman's den, and you all pounce. Impossible to debate here. Pity it is an intersting debate. Bye.

IntergalacticWalrus · 08/01/2007 16:10

It's hard tell which is more damaging?

I can't even begin to answer that

Simao · 08/01/2007 16:08

That's becuase you are on the conception thread. I would rather have a baby too

I think its all subjective really, its hard to tell which is more damaging and i would not prentend to know - although i did assert an opinion in my original post.

But, it is a very serious thing to bring another life into this world. Its downright wrong to do so with someone who has not agreed.

Apart from the ethical issues surrounding breach of trust or consent (what ever you want to call it). There is a financial impact that the man and woman has to burden too from the JSA. Again, that applies to both men and women.

Another fact is that a woman can terminate in someway, if consent was not given and they wanted. Now, i am not saying its that simple. This is a horrible thing to have to do. But once a women is pregnant the man has no legal option in this matter. Its a case of tough luck Mike, get ready to be a Father and get a job too as the FSA will be asking for money for the next 18 years.

IntergalacticWalrus · 08/01/2007 16:07

Anyway, I think I hear a slight trip trapping........

IntergalacticWalrus · 08/01/2007 16:06

I thank you WWB.

WigWamBam · 08/01/2007 16:04

Stopping the Pill is about deceiving someone to get what you want.

Rape is about exerting power and violence over someone to get what you want.

Not even remotely in the same league, IMO, and deeply offensive to even begin to compare the two.

ledodgy · 08/01/2007 16:00

How would you feel if knowing you wanted more children you're dp went out and got a vasectomy behind your back without discussing it?

You are doing the same thing in reverse to him, totally out of order imo!

justJAM · 08/01/2007 15:58

This is a weird thread....and the OP'er is no where to be seen...... just wanted to give my opinion (theres a shock)
Totally out of order and pretty fucked up.........

IntergalacticWalrus · 08/01/2007 15:49

I think deception would be a better word to use tbh.

Believe me, I'd rather have a child I didn;t give ,y consent to

Sorry to here that anyone has been raped, people can be such jerks. I hope you are doing well and happy now in life.

The whole issue with secretly stopping the pill is one of consent, and my understanding of rape is that is about consent also? I think we all agree on that.

So the analogy is very valid and indeed actually a very good one. In either case consent has not been given. That is the basic fact of here. And yes that applies to men fertilising women intentionally when it is not wanted and vice versa.

This area is however not protected by any kind of law, and it should be.

IntergalacticWalrus · 08/01/2007 15:38
