Just off the phone to NHS Direct. They are getting the out of hours GP to ring me. I think if they don't ring in the next hour I will just go to A&E. I think I need to have a scan before I go to put my mind at rest. Thx again for the help.

agree with aitch. my bleeding was a reddish brown and stop start then just before i was admitted it was vv dark and thick. got stitch-like pain too on one side and a general feeling that something was up iykwim. better safe than sorry, ring nhs direct now!

Thanks girls, mine is brown/red stringy discharge, very strange, not like my usual spotting during implantation.

I am starting to get concerned. The pain never really eases. The only other thing I noticed about this pg is that I was in maternity trousers at 8wks with my second pg, but I'm still in normal trousers now at 9+2wks.. I thought that was strange, but put it down to the fact I was 6lbs less in weight conceiving this time than last.

Will go to A&E after lunch (can't bear the thought of going right this second on an empty tum). Will let you know what they say.

oh dear, better safe than sorry 99. it's probably nothing but if it isn't then you really do not want to be out of the country with a ruptured fallopian tube. ring your local Early Pregnancy Unit and see if they can gat someone to scan you (it might have to be an A&E thgin cos it's the weekend).

My first symtom was a red/brown discharge which was very light (like spotting) and was on and off. Then I started getting a pain in my right side, which felt like a stitch, a few days later the pain was a lot worse. The bleeding got worse but stayed the same clour.

My first EP symptom was brown stringy discharge that after 5-6 days turned to bright red blood. I didnt have any pain to start off with but 3 days before my tube ruptured i had a stitch like pain in my right side. I thought nothing of it and hoped that resting would make it go away but it didnt. Over the next few days the stitch got worse and i felt it more when walking around. On the day that the tube ruptured i woke up and the stitch felt more like a bruise that was constantly being pressed. Later that day my tube ruptured. I was rushed to theatre, lost 5-6 pints of blood, my tube and baby.

As you probably already know, aches and pains in early pregnancy are very normal. If your worried go to A&E. Its better to be safe than sorry.

On a brighter note i am now 7w 1d pregnant. I had a scan at 4w 6d with this pregnancy as i had one sided pain / stitch again. Lookily everything is fine this time.

If i were you and to put your mind at ease go to A&E.

Hi girls, I'm so glad I found this thread. It's been a very endearing read.

Atm, I'm pg with dc3 (4th pg, 1st one resulted in mc at 6.5wks) and at 4-5wks during this pg I felt some implantation pain which I had with my other pgs. Yesterday I had some brown spotting and have had only what I can describe as the implantation pain again in my lower right side, but I was 9+2 yesterday and didn't think I'd get this sort of pain so late on. It's not 'severe' but kind of like what a 'stitch' feels like (when you over exercise) just not in my side but my lower abdomen. It's more noticeable when I'm walking around. I've been trying to rest and it has eased but is back again this morning.

The frustrating thing is we're about to go on holiday to Paris on Monday for the week and I don't really know whether to take this pain seriously and wait for hours in A&E for a scan or to just see what happens as it might be nothing.

I guess my question is what symptoms did you have for your EP and was it obvious something was wrong? Was it a really sharp pain or a niggling one? Thanks so much.

Sparkley when I was pg with dd I got the odd pains and cramps and a sort of popping feeling so I am sure this is fine. Both times the pain with the ep felt quite different sharp pains rather than cramps. How are you feeling now? Make sure you put your feet up and rest as much as possible.

I fell asleep again this morning, still feeling really tired, anyway when i woke up, I had like a niggy period cramp across the whole front of my stomach, not one sided, and its gone now. I remember getting pregnancy pains with my previous pregnancies but can't remember what they feel like (its been 6 years since I last had a baby) Is this just pregnancy pain?

Skg the epu near me was exactley the same didnt want to see me until i was at least 6wks. My consultant who I saw for fertility probs did bloods which were ok until I got the pain and he was going to scan me at 5 1/2wks but I didnt get that far. Feeling so crappy etc is really good news I have got every thing crossed for you but it all sounds really positive so far.

Your EPU and Docs sound like complete idiots (sorry). They seem so unsympathetic. Your beanie was in your tube. So collapsed or not, it was still ectopic. I think the way the treat people with past pregnanacy problems is discusting. Mine was the same. They see it every day so there used to it. But were not. Its just horrible.

Its good to here that you've got no pain or bleeding. I did have a little pain and even though people kept telling me that early pregnancy pains were normal, i just couldnt relax. The more i thought about them, the worse they were. I really do hope that your beanie is ok, i really do.

Moving your LMP date is a good idea. I couldnt relax until i had that 1st scan.

and deffo don't let them away with that... the fact you had an ep in your tube does mean you ar at a higher risk, unfortunately.

I am getting annoyed though, when I phoned the EPU and the doctors they both said 'ok you had a miscarriage in jan' after I told them it was a collasped EP, does it not count because I didn't need surgery or meds..?? grrr. I am still at risk of it happening again...

Congratulations SGK. I had a scan at 4w 6d and they were ablt to see the sac in the right place. Of course it was empty as it was still early. Ive been back today at 6w 6d and we saw a strong heartbeat. Scan says im 6w 4d. The only reason i had a scan at 4w was because i was getting mild pains on my left side. At first they refused to scan me but dr told me to tell them that i wasnt sure of my dates. In the end i got my scan.

I'm going to adjust my late period date by a few days. My LMP was on the 5th but I ovulated 11 days later, so I am going to say that my LMP was on the 1st Feb, which means that I will be able to get a scan next friday.

yer, well, that's not true about not being able to see anything as it happens. they maybe wouldn't be able to rule it out, let's say. fingers are loyally crossed, SKG, and will remain so until i hear the good news.

Thing is, they can't see anything before 6 weeks, I know that, but I just want my HCG levels checked, I get the feeling they are high this time, as I feel so crap...

grim. they were rubbish, as i recall. and so they are proving to be again. a tense week ahead for you, SKG. (unless you tell them you've had bleeding or pain...)

I have to be seen at the first hospital I went to with the EP, as the other doesn't have a EPU, but as soon as I have had the scan I will be moving to the other hospital for my care.
