TTC following an ectopic pregnancy

Hi, My DH and I have been TTC for the last 8 months and finally found out I was pregnant before christmas. Since then I have been in hospital and have been treated for an ectopic pregnancy. I was given a hefty dose of Methotrexate which has made me feel rotten and should induce a miscarriage soon. We can't start TTC for 3 months now which is really hard to take as it took us a while the first time - but everything will have to be on hold until the summer now. Has anyone experienced this?

lissie · 05/06/2007 20:49

cedar, thats awful!! are you going to complain? surely that breaches patient confidentiality?

am also shocked at your GP, honestly, why do these people join the medical profession? its supposed to be about the patient ffs!

I am fuming at the moment, My dr surgery managed to phone me and my mil to say my blood forms were ready. We both are at the same surgery and have the same initials. We hadn't told her about the ivf as shes not been very sympathetic in the past. So dh got a phone call tonight asking why I was having blood tests. Bloody cheek
He fobbed her of and said he was having his tea, She figured out it was something to do with ttc and asked him if I had thought about eat more greens! She probably think shes trying to help but she just pisses me off. Just needed to rant.

lissie · 03/06/2007 11:55

lol, typical! if no sign of af by tomorrow i will ask for a blood test at the specialists. do you think i'll get the results there and then?

cedar12 · 03/06/2007 11:52

Off to work now in this lovely sunshine been off for a week and it done nothing but rain typical.

cedar12 · 03/06/2007 11:50

Fingers crossed Lissie. Go and get another test and dont wee for 4 hours then do the test. Hopefully it will be darker or wait till the morning. If its a bfp I really hope this one gets to the right place and hangs on in there. If its bfp will you still go for your appointment tomorrow I should I get them to do some bloods.

lissie · 03/06/2007 11:24

well, am truly confused now. bought a first response (on special offer in superdrug) just done it and at first glance was bfn, cue me stomping around bathroom, wee-stick in hand, ranting at dh. looked again about 2mins after weeing and there is the faintest of faint lines. clearer when i hold it up to the light iykwim.

lissie · 03/06/2007 09:12

thanks am off up town in a minute so will pop into boots for a clearblue.

i feel pg, dont know if thats a good sign or bad!

cedar12 · 03/06/2007 08:56

I have got to go to work today but will try and log on and check on any progress reports at some point

cedar12 · 03/06/2007 08:55

Clear blue are the best I think that what I got bfp with. At least you have got your dr appointment tomorrow they could do a blood test and you will know one way or the other.

lissie · 03/06/2007 08:24

no worries

nope, nothing. dont even feel like its on its way, am v confused. might buy a clearblue today and test with that. what do you think?

cedar12 · 03/06/2007 08:10

Sorry didnt mean to ignore you last night my tea was ready
I am ok, trying to get all the blood test done next week before the ivf appointment. Except need to one done on day 1-4 so missed that for this month.
