I'm laughing my rear off at all of your posts! Especially the Introduction ion of Doreen. Love that it's a lady's name, haha!

Today is the start of isw for me, so I've made a flourless chocolate torte to make us feel romantic or something...let the games begin!

Oh Moggy I'm sorry to hear your bday wasn't how you wanted it to be 😢 "Boys are stupid. Throw rocks at them" as they say! It would have been nice to be made to feel special...especially as it's all gonna become about the baby and not you (even more reason for OH to have made this one special!!!).... But he's a boy Moggy...it will take him time to realise all of this (maybe give him a cheat sheet so he knows next bday/anniversary/Xmas what kind of things make you feel special?). By the sounds of him I'm sure that he will make it all up to you, but gurl I totally would have been crying in your shoes too! I believe we should be treated like princesses on our birthdays too!! Ohhhhh Kat and starky you just made me teary all over again!! (But in a better way than before) I bloody love mn. THANK YOU. For giving me some birthday love and the perspective I needed. Kat you really hit the nail on the head! Birthdays are not the same as when we're little and it's devastating! I want a birthday tea again with all my little friends over, jelly and ice cream, and games of musical chairs. I probably cried then too, when it all got too much!

Maybe this is what being a mum is all about- giving stuff up like birthdays and being grateful for babies! My first lesson in self sacrifice

I think your last paragraph really sums it up. I can't count the number of birthdays (mine... Not other people's) that I've cried on. As an adult and a child. I feel stupid for still caring about birthdays and birthday surprises as an adult and then feel like crying. And then I get upset that they aren't like they used to be as we are adults now and all the fun is gone and cry about that. And then I feel stupid for crying and getting upset and then cry more. And the whole thing is a big let down. The people that really honestly don't give a shit and say "it's just another day" are the winners here. But people like us that want magic and surprises don't get comforted by that because even when we say "yeah it's just another day" we are secretly hoping ALL day for surprises. Or cake. Or anything!!!

Buuuuut... It's your first birthday as a mummy, and you have a trip away. And you have a DH and he is but a man and they are shit at things like this. At least yours was apologetic. Mine would get cross at me for being so stupid. And that would probably make me cry more. By myself.

kwick this is excellent news re your eggo!! Fx for you. Also thought it was really interesting what you said about feeling like you had it easier than those with a OH sometimes, fascinating how different all our perspectives can be! Today I am also wondering if it would be easier without a OH (see below!!!)

So, it's my 30th today, and dh has been pretty rubbish about it, I got a card but my prezzie is late (to be fair I knew about that, was fine with it, and it is v expensive), but no other special treatment today, no cake, no chocs, we dtd this morning and it was all about him iyswim! We are abroad for my bday weekend (planned by me) so I know it's not easy to sort out surprises but it would have been nice for him to just think of doing something nice that was cheap and simple like saying 'let's go out for cake for breakfast!' Or explaining that he was going to do something nice once we got home. I probably sound like a right ungrateful bitch. I know I'm lucky to have him and super lucky to have early bday prezzie in the way of a bfp this year, but I've been teary all evening (I'm blaming preggo hormones) and feel totally gutted as didn't really want to cry on my bday!

Of course me being me I told him how I felt when it became clear at 8pm there were no surprises coming and now he is very apologetic, and I think he gets it and feels really bad
He is blaming work for being so distracting (he has his own company) which I sort of get but ... also don't.

Ughh. Birthdays are overrated and stress-inducing! Sorry for the moan. I hope I am not being unreasonable! (I have been reading too much on that other section AIBU, it is addictive)

I'm getting a bit confused with people's AFs not arriving on time it's making my list incorrect and I don't know if people are peeing on OPKs or HCGs or what. I think we've got people with AF due who are peeing on OPKs just in case they are better than HCGs and all sorts.
So I would just like to ask the commentary lady to please get all AFs that are on their way or over due to hurry the Hugh up, or else have a positive test. Thank you very much.

P.s. Anyone watching that hugh (LOL) Laurie program? I am loving it.

Did a run yesterday following by ten squats and ten push-ups when I got back. Well as a result I feel like I've been hit by a bus today, can hardly walk. Covered my thighs in ibuprofen gel this evening and am whimpering under a blanket. Exercise is dangerous people!

kwick thanks for that article. Interesting. What I would take from it is to be aware that it can happen, but before we all get paranoid, odd periods can more probably be causes by stress, illness etc..

If I can be honest ipatches Id give it a few more days. If your discharge is smelly and you believe it to be an infection I would go and see a dr. Brown indicates more of a period like symptom and you are due. My periods are regular too, I bleed from 8-1 every day for three days, use three tampons and then I'm done! So being late is out of the ordinary for me too. Perhaps the stresses of trying for a baby do more to us than we give credit for. Hang on in there!

Vix - absolutely. TTC is stressful, heartbreaking, constant worrying and disappointment. And a paying excessive attention to our boobs.
