Symptom spotters, tww - ers, slightly hysterical hormone laden ladies! Regs, lurkers, intermittent posters! Our raison d'etre is 'am I pregnant?'

Thread 12. Welcome!

We do not judge, we enjoy TMI, we i encourage waiting to poas nobody listens and all the grossness you can find from a group of intelligent, articulate ladies.

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kats stats I have been dubbed the resident piss stick queen and if you don't test, you get a Starky's Star

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself your pregnant in the tww

I feel the same about the list. Yayyy for everyone :( apart from meeeee :( :(

Cailler · 07/03/2016 18:16

If you like conception videos jem you should watch this one.

I've watched it maybe.. 6 times this past week hoping and wishing that the first couple of minutes is happening inside me! I feel that I am in for a massive fall when AF shows up this month. TTC has taken up 90% of my thoughts this month, and I've definitely crossed the line in to obsessive. There have already been tears and unreasonable behaviour! I'm in a new country where I don't speak the language and have no friends close by to talk to and no job to keep me occupied during the day while DH is at work. We do however have plenty of sunshine today and feeling so much more positive, I'm definitely one of those people whose mood it affected by the weather.

Welcome Brysonette I feel awful moping after just reading your journey, you really have been through the wringer. Fingers crossed it won't be much longer for you.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 07/03/2016 18:02

I feel exactly the same way confused I'm halfway between being made up for the grads and wailing plaintively "why isn't it meeeee!?'

Welcome newbies

I'm just writing the new thread starter paragraph, we're having a change of pace! I've put an addendum regarding babydust and want to make it clear I'm not talking about hopeful just generic babydust! Grin

Catching up on the day... Haven't quite got thru everything yet but had to comment on miles post earlier...
AF... Arseyhole fuckynut... Well maybe that's where I've been going wrong??? Hmm

Confusedcat1 · 07/03/2016 17:20

A comprehensive Google search has just informed me the best time to dtd is before a positive opk! So I feel much better now Grin

Peaches8Posies · 07/03/2016 16:58

No I agree jem. And in the old days when you never had disposable tests etc.. many women were not aware they were pregnant until 6/8 weeks. My gran used to say that most women didn't go to the doctor or midwifery services until they missed 2 periods to be sure. And by that time the proper symptoms would be in play, morning sickness etc... no google or you tube in those days haha.

SuchaJem · 07/03/2016 16:50

The whole no symptom thing in the very early days does kind of make sense to me. The process of menstruation involves big swings in hormones and then a big physical change as your uterus sheds. Having a fertilised embryo getting comfy means obviously all of that doesn't happen. That's a whole lot of stuff not happening.

And whilst there are of course other changes taking place, it's incredibly early days still for them to have a big effect on you.

Please humour my witterings. I've been watching YouTube conception videos again Grin

HepKestrel · 07/03/2016 16:49

are other people getting a bit worried about their google/internet/amazon history ?

its a little scary!

celizabe · 07/03/2016 16:34

Thanks sucha, I'm hoping I'm on the right track this month. Still only 20% chance but better than nothing I suppose! 😀

Brysonette · 07/03/2016 16:29

Ah! Well, assuming I get back to my normal 28 day cycle I'd say AF/test is expected 31st March. Thanks Grin.
I wasn't even aware you could increase your uterus lining Ni?!

Peaches8Posies · 07/03/2016 16:25

Thanks again ladies ☺

Welcome bry so sorry you've been through the ringer! Hopefully your time will come soon.

Fx crossed for more sticky beans ☺

Symptoms. Not anything really (bar a late period) which isn't very helpful for the symptom spotters amongst. Have a funny feeling good in my tummy like I have slight indigestion but that could be nerves/excitement. Have cramp on and off was worse Thursday Friday Saturday. Actually I had less af symptoms than normal. Definitely no tender boobs which is usually a dead give away af is coming with in a day or so.

kwick thinking of you today.

Ni4444 · 07/03/2016 16:23

Welcome to the madhouse Bryson (personally speaking I stayed up til the wee hours googling ways to increase my uterus lining...don't even know if I need it!). Let us know your expected AF or test date and our wonderful organiser extraordinaire Kat will add you to our next list.

4th April for me please Kat #allaboardthebus

SuchaJem · 07/03/2016 16:10

celiz dark OPK on Sunday was your LH surge which means eggo coming within 24-48 hours I believe. So if you've got twinges today I would assume that is the follicle releasing the egg. Continue with the DTD schedule - your timing sounds good to me.

Hi bryson sorry you've had some really tough experiences there, I hope ttc starts going more smoothly for you. My DH is away a couple of nights a week - its really stressed me out this cycle, so I can imagine this must be so hard when they are away longer.

celizabe · 07/03/2016 16:09

Thanks Confused, hopefully if we DTD today and tomorrow and then a bonus round on Thursday (just in case) FX we'll catch the egg

Brysonette · 07/03/2016 16:08

Hello Fishy - usually 1-2 weeks at a time but pretty regularly, luckily 6 month tours now seem to be a thing of the past for us, phew! I get the sharp twinge too, it lasts a day or 2 but it's always on the right side - every month! I always assumed it was ovulation too?

Confusedcat1 · 07/03/2016 16:05

Thanks for the reassurance everyone..... I hope it works out. I've got pain in my right hand side all day today so if it plops out sooner rather than later maybe that's a good thing, it can merrily meet yesterday's doreen Grin

Welcome bry

celizabeI've read that the egg plops 1
2-36 hours after the positive opk

LovelyFishy · 07/03/2016 15:58

And welcome Brysonette! It must be tough with DH away - is it often and for long periods of time? I winge about my shifts not working with DH but at least they only clash for a few weeks at a time!

LovelyFishy · 07/03/2016 15:55

I sometimes feel a sharp twinge on one side which I've always assumed is me ovulating. It's very brief. Apart from that nothing! Haven't had that this month and I had a pretty dark line on opk this morning. It was completely blank yesterday!

Brysonette · 07/03/2016 15:54

Hello all, great to find you lot, I'm new, my dh is forces so we move around a lot (and he's away a lot, bah) and we've been trying for 2.5 years - we've had an ectopic requiring an ambulance and emergency surgery and a mmc found at first scan but got to keep going! Anyhoooo - stats:
Age 36,
TTC 1,
Cycle, er, not sure, feels like 965?!,
CD3 Smile Usually really regular 28 day cycles but AF arrived on CD23 last time - weird!

celizabe · 07/03/2016 15:45

Hi guys, sorry have been awol for a few weeks, have been off on holliers.

Congratulations to everyone with BFPs and big hugs to anyone who AF has targetted this month; hope the Wine and Chocolate is free flowing for you!

Am religiously using OPKs this month, I must have gone through 15 in the past few days Smile We've DTD every other day since last Thursday. Got faint positive OPK on Saturday, a whopping dark positive on Sunday morning with FMU and then back to faint today ... no idea what that translates to in terms of when I'll actually ovulate. When I went back over MyCycle and Ovia for last month I think I was too excited with DTD and stopped before I'd actually ovulated (eejit!) so hopefully this time around we're in the right ball park.

Do any of you know when you actually ovulate after a positive OPK? I've had some stingy pains on the left side of my abdomen today so hoping it could be that. Going to do some serious hubby-riding over the next 2-3 days and then I'm back to some FX in the 2WW Smile

Lyssie · 07/03/2016 15:13

Hopeful and peaches congrats!!!!! Praying for healthy babies for you both! :D

LovelyFishy · 07/03/2016 15:05

I'm on night shifts atm and my father very kindly said he'd pop by this afternoon for tea and catch-up. I have just been woken up by hoovering!! I've never been cross with someone for doing the hoovering before when not asked.

I'm now worried because Ovia keeps telling me how important sleep is for fertility and I think I got a positive opk this morning. Not a great start to the day! Maybe I should borrow a leaf out of everyone's book and get baking.

Moggysinger · 07/03/2016 15:05

Thanks all!! I am indeed feeling better today! LOVE the idea of treating myself, might make myself own birthday cake! Grin Cake. In the meanwhile still secretly hoping dh might do something nice but if he doesn't it's really not such a big deal anymore. I'm totally gonna rinse it with family and friends though! Smile

Aww congrats peaches very happy for you! Flowers
