Symptom spotters, tww - ers, slightly hysterical hormone laden ladies! Regs, lurkers, intermittent posters! Our raison d'etre is 'am I pregnant?'

Thread 12. Welcome!

We do not judge, we enjoy TMI, we i encourage waiting to poas nobody listens and all the grossness you can find from a group of intelligent, articulate ladies.

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kats stats I have been dubbed the resident piss stick queen and if you don't test, you get a Starky's Star

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself your pregnant in the tww

Apparently I eat fertility boosting foods without even knowing it!! Most of those on kwick's list are in my weekly diet!

Mooseville · 04/03/2016 07:04

Good Luck for today kwick Will have everything crossed for a successful collection!

I don't drink much caffeine at all except for an odd posh latte in a cafe when meeting friends, but both me and the OH are taking the pregnacare Conception vitamins, and have been for a couple of months prior to trying. I only drink about once a week (although sometimes quite heavily!) so far I haven't changed that, mainly because I don't think anything can have happened this month, and I watched my best friend try to conceive for a few years - and I don't want to put a hold on my life incase I don't get pregnant quickly - I think it'll be more difficult to swallow if I've missed out on good times and social events in the mean time. Obviously if I felt I had any symptoms I wouldn't be drinking! My friend has gone on to have 2 lovely kids btw, 1 IVF and 1 naturally afterwards... So there is hope for us all!

Hello all have been awol again. I keep getting logged out of mnet and can't remember my new password.

kwick wow that's dedication for you.

AF arrived two days later that normal :... My bodies way of making me feel like a failure. I got myself all excited which I know is rookie mistake.

Kwick709 · 04/03/2016 06:14

What a God awful night.. Barely slept... Felt like I was going to be sick but that is strange as I took hardly any meds yesterday - unless it was the kebab Confused ...

So I have been quite radical but remember I am advanced in years:
I cut out alcohol completely and I used to drink quite a lot so I am really impressed with myself
I upped my dairy in-take & this and last cycle did the milk thing
I try to eat fertility boosting foods as much as poss: avocados, sweet potatotes, walnuts, eggs, pulses, leafy greens, oily fish
I only have one caffeine tea a day the rest is either decaffeinated or I have got into Pukka teas in a bog way (three cinnamon, three ginger, lemon, geniger and mauka honey are my favs)
Fresh pineapple including the core for 5 dop
I take supplements - to start with just 7 Seas trying to have a baby complex and vit B complex but now after reading "it starts with the egg" I also take Co-q10, vit c, vit d and additional folic acid due to my weight
Fingers crossed it all works this time!

Moggysinger · 04/03/2016 00:29

zazzles yes I followed kwicks advice with the cayenne pepper! Only once or twice, but maybe it worked?! Also ate more brazil nuts than normal, been taking folic acid since starting ttc months ago, gave up tea and coffee for lent, cut back on alcohol but not completely. DH on the other hand not taking vits, not eating healthily and drinking lots of beer! Hope that won't affect baby!!!

Thanks for all your congrats ladies, I've really got my fx for more bfps soon on this thread. Especially you patient ones who have been waiting longer than me. I still can't believe it's happened, doesn't feel real at all Confused

Lyssie · 04/03/2016 00:29

Moggy YAYAYAYAYYYYY! Congratulations! :D Name it after me ;)

Lyssie · 04/03/2016 00:26

Random question:
Have any of you ladies noticed that DTD is more pleasurable when not on BC pills?
Or less?

For me it seems like a whole new world down there.

LovelyFishy · 04/03/2016 00:06

Since we started ttc I've switched to decaf coffee. I still drink regular chai tea (decaf tea tastes gross!) and I only have the odd alcoholic drink or two if AF turns up in the week after that before stopping again for the next cycle. Also been taking multi-vitamin and folic acid. This month I will also be trying pineapple!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 03/03/2016 22:40

jem I've been taking folic acid since we started ttc. Dh brought me some epo last week so I've been taking those (but will stop now until af shows again). And a multi vitamin. I don't really drink (except the odd prosecco 😉) and I have 1 cup of tea in the morning, some days I'll have more. But no coffee, energy drinks etc. I don't eat things with msg in, and other than noodles we eat fresh food every day. The caffeine/msg is more to control my anxiety than anything though! I had a full fat coke on Tuesday with dinner and was climbing the walls all evening!

Hi Elle, I'm ok, just trying to get through my 2ww (I'm 9dpo) without getting obsessed like I did last month - so far, so good. I feel a lot more relaxed about it this cycle. Determined not to test until I have a missed period! How are you doing?

I feel bad that I haven't contributed much at all lately - just completely weighed down with work.

Rules of drinking raspberry leaf tea are pretty much the same as taking epo (which I also took) - can be drunk up until ovulation. It's not advised to drink it during the luteal phase as it can cause the uterus to contract. I actually really like the taste of raspberry leaf tea and have missed drinking it in the second half of my cycle!!

SuchaJem · 03/03/2016 22:24

Query.. Do your chaps do any preconception prep, such as taking supplements or reducing caffeine or alcohol?

Pugmummy87 · 03/03/2016 21:44

Just catching up and seen Moggys news! Big congrats!

Pugmummy87 · 03/03/2016 21:43

Day 9 of 9 days in a row at work tomorrow. 5pm can't come quick enough!

Nothing much to report here, think ovulation has been and gone, so am guessing I'm about 2dpo at the moment.

I'm also impressed with epo. Got very obvious ewcm this month.

Kwick709 · 03/03/2016 21:35

Thanks starky

feefeefs baths are out as tomorrow they will be going up my fanjo to collect the eggs and so there is a risk of infection if I then sit in water - normally after this type of procedure they say no bathing or swimming for 2 weeks, then I will be having (hopefully) embryo transfer - another fanjo voyage - so again no bathing or swimming - my clinic normally advise this for the whole 2ww & if you get preggers for the first 12 weeks. This may all sound a little extreme but well I would not want failing to follow instruction be the reason something went wrong....

KatOnATinRo0f · 03/03/2016 21:07

Vix well you better had considering that for lunch and dinner!!!

vixarooni · 03/03/2016 20:54

Congratulations moggy so pleased for you x

Happy birthday blue! Wine

I'm with you sparky tested twice (ovia game me permission today) when I have no symptoms at all, and then got upset about the negative!

I've had KFC for lunch and a zizzi dinner. Feeling positvely fat and contented. Could almost use a bit of chocolate

stardusty5 · 03/03/2016 20:41

Hi all just checking in

Due to test tomorrow but reckon i'll wait til sat morning. I do not deserve a starky star tho as i've tested three times already. All before 10dpo and none with fmu- what was even the point???

Boobs are i guess a bit achey when prodded and have felt quite gassy esp when i first get up. Had a nap after work twice this week and went to bed at 9 on tuesday, but i think thats been more down to opportunity than real 'fatigue'. All in all, i'm blatantly symptom spotting with vair little to report! Grin

In addition, i've been asked to take on some more responsibility at work over the nect few months due to a colleague being upduffed and so not able to lead on said project as planned. Yay.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 03/03/2016 20:40

Well, I for one hope your womble behaves and is fruitful kwick 😁

The nasal ovulation happened before the spot kat or I'd say you were right! 😂

peaches that happened to me, I'd not been on for about 18 months, decided to randomly check it over Christmas and there were like 4 fresh babies I'd had no idea were gestating!

Feefeefs · 03/03/2016 20:39

Why are baths out kwick?

ElleSarcasmo · 03/03/2016 20:38

Sorry about the baby bomb Peaches Sad

Zazzles I have been impressed with EPO as well-will definitely use it again.

Hi Holly-how are you doing? I spotted raspberry leaf tea and bought some today but haven't read the baby making bible yet-when am I meant to drink it?!

Kwick709 · 03/03/2016 20:19

kat dearest list Oracle - how you doing?

zazzles I think it was me that said about the cayenne pepper - it is supposed to draw blood to womble area so good to have around DTD/beginning of 2WW. I have been have scoops of the stuff all week as I prepare for my egg collection Confused

Okay I am off to have my last bath in a while (don't worry I will still shower).

Feefeefs · 03/03/2016 20:19

Thanks peaches, Kat, zazzles! No wine allowed today but lots of ice cream Grinand off work tomorrow just in time for new house of cards on Netflix. Silver linings

Peaches8Posies · 03/03/2016 20:18
