Symptom spotters, tww - ers, slightly hysterical hormone laden ladies! Regs, lurkers, intermittent posters! Our raison d'etre is 'am I pregnant?'

Thread 11. Welcome one and all!
We do not judge, we enjoy TMI, we i encourage waiting to poas nobody listens and all the grossness you can find from a group of intelligent, articulate ladies.

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kats stats I have been dubbed the resident piss stick queen and if you don't test, you get a Starky's Star loaaaaaads of bfp'ers who keep us positive! We don't have rules, we love a good symptom spot, we try to stay grounded and not be hysterical sometimes we manage it aswell

Meditation or mindfulness works as well. Whatever gets you to take time out from worrying. I get my Powerade from Tesco.

m.tesco.com/h5/groceries/r/www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id=252965543

Oh and the Sher Clinic videos on You Tube are helpful. There's a really good senior nurse who is proper no nonsense.

Kwick709 · 24/02/2016 21:58

Thanks lesbecky will research powerade (where should i go to buy some?) I have taken to drinking effervescent vitamin c as my evening drink - hope that is helping. I have done acupuncture in past but do not find relaxing so have decided to refrain - but I am doing other things like visualisation.

Lesbecky · 24/02/2016 21:55

Like a flat lucozade so has the salts and minerals in and fake flavours. You can get them sugar free. Much easier to drink than water because it has the right nutrients in. So you don't feel overwhelmed with liquid.

No real top tips. I did do acupuncture this cycle which I didn't first cycle. That was more to make me relax than getting my blood flowing.

Lyssie · 24/02/2016 21:53

Starky
That's sweet, what your husband said! My husband is a violin teacher and every time he gets a new student, he comes home and says, "we should name our child this!"

Kwick709 · 24/02/2016 21:51

What is powerade?

I think I need to up my water and milk intake anyway.

lesbecky please share your top tips!

starky silver is a loverly name :)

Lesbecky · 24/02/2016 21:51

I prefer dildo cam for that exact reason starky. I asked the nurse this time for external transfer scan and she said 500ml of water is plenty.

Lesbecky · 24/02/2016 21:48

I think long starts CD 21 of previous cycle. Short is Day 1.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 24/02/2016 21:48

I've had both dildo-cam and tummy crusher scans before. On the whole, I had no preference, but they made me have a full bladder when I had the tummy one and it was uncomfortable as balls! Especially as the kidney doctor was running late and I nearly wet myself as I'd downed two pints of water before going for my appointment!

And I concur, 30 isn't old. I'm nearly 30 and although my lovely dark hair is now showing signs of decided to be streaked with white, the positive thing was Dh decided while inspecting my hair that 'Silver' was a lovely name for a potential child.

My first scan? At 6+5 - March 14th. Good luck with your cycle.

Do stay hydrated after collection. It can make you feel really poorly. I found Powerade much easier to stomach than 3 L or water. Yes. You may need that much to stop the bloating :(

Hep154 · 24/02/2016 21:46

My mum had me when she was 39. This gives me hope. part of me feels i might have left it too late, but honestly, i have only been in the situation recently that I want to try/feel ready (financial, stability etc..)

OH and I discussed this and we agreed that even now it might by impractical. But f*ck it, we can't wait any longer.

Kwick709 · 24/02/2016 21:41

Oooh lesbecky you took stuff I have not heard of.... TBH I am not even sure I know the difference between short and long protocol...I did 25 days of downregging and now am on about 14 days of stimulation and then hopefully egg collection and then transfer - I am taking growth hormone (Zomacton) plus Merional, Fostimon, Dexamethasone and soon Doxycline. Then at some stage Clexane, Progynova and Crinone. When do you have a scan?

Kwick709 · 24/02/2016 21:34

confused 30 is NOT old!!! I am 41 and giving it a go!

Lesbecky · 24/02/2016 21:32

Hey Kwick I seem to eat the HRT, so I'm long protocol plus Estraderm and Vagifem. With Gestone and Cyclogest.

Kwick709 · 24/02/2016 21:28

Mooseville admittedly my grasp on basic biology is not great but ai think the transvaginal scan only accesses the vajayjay.... It cannot get past cervix to uterus so no chance it will hurt baby. Being a connoisseur of scans I actually "prefer" transvaginal to abdominal which can really press down hard on bladder.

I am really sorry bitch got you Confusedcat

You tell them miley no one is giving up!!!! Well clearly I have no authority of anyone but please hang in there! I have so much hope for us all... Even If I have been feeling low and unconfident about my IVF cycle I know deep down this is the wrong attitude to have and I need to get a grip.

Evergreen15 · 24/02/2016 21:23

Pyxie thanks for the pic. That is actually the best that has happened to me today
The piggie wasnt bad either

Kwick709 · 24/02/2016 21:00

Becky congratulations!! Why protocol did you do for IVF? I am so pleased for you!

Such good news choca!!

Lesbecky · 24/02/2016 21:00

TTC is boring. It's mind numbing and tedious and no one talks about how miserable it is or how much it puts your life on hold.

If it helps confused oh and I are 35. You're not too old.

Hep154 · 24/02/2016 20:59

no handstands then ? ;)

Kwick709 · 24/02/2016 20:52

Sorry once again I am very behind... Just in page 26...

When you have IUI - ie turkey basting - you lie down for up to 15 minutes after being basted. I seem to recall reading that cervix will close behind the lucky ones that get that far, so do not fall out if you stand.

Miley I am sorry you are feeling so yucky... But you are one classy lady!

Confusedcat1 · 24/02/2016 20:33

I think it's also important to be able to say the negative feelings as well as the good ones.... Just to get it out and vent.

We can be positive again tomorrow Grin

StarkyTheDirewolf · 24/02/2016 20:31

Pig eating ice cream.

jam completely understandabLe private wobble. That's awful, I don't think being pregnant at that age is ever a good thing.

confused no it wasn't you mate, I've been borderline angry at my uterus for the last three weeks. We're having a domino effect, which I think is probably positive, as I feel many of us need to vent.

pyxie 😊

I totally understand the questioning everything. For a few weeks I was convinced DH had too low testosterone be he doesn't have a hairy ass. He's a doctor and when I was tipsy I mentioned this to him and he burst out laughing, wanting to know who developed this 'hairy ass screen'. Made me laugh and realise how silly I was being. I think it's just bad luck that we haven't fallen pregnant yet!

Confusedcat1 · 24/02/2016 20:20

I totally understand where everyone is coming from... Sorry if I've dragged everyone down to my pit of doom....

I wonder if I left it too late, but 30 isn't really late is it?!!!! I will definitely go get us checked if it's not happening after six months though.

I'm tucked up on the couch with my fluffy bed hoodie on and a hot water bottle. Everything is gonna be OK.

And I'm gonna drink loads of alcohol at the weekend!!!

Jamjar12 · 24/02/2016 20:18

Lol Pyxie!!

To add to the misery- I threw a private wobbler today at work because one of my pupils has just found out she's 31 weeks pregnant. She's 15 and had no idea until about a week ago. She's had sex twice.

How is that possible? There's us all doing everything we can to get pregnant and looking for every symptom and then she's just defied all odds and didn't even realise. Her situation obviously isn't ideal but I'm insanely jealous which is annoying me as it's pathetic!

Pugmummy87 · 24/02/2016 20:14

Ladies we can and we will all get there. I completely understand how some of you are feeling, I can't help but think did 10 years of being on the pill bugger up all my eggs, it's because I'm fat etc, especially after 5 years of no contraception and not one sniff of a bfp (although only really 'trying' since november).

I've decided this cycle though, I am being positive about falling pregnant, this is my month. In the hope that a positive frame of mind may somehow get my eggs all excited about meeting a suitor!
