Symptom spotters, tww - ers, slightly hysterical hormone laden ladies! Regs, lurkers, intermittent posters! Our raison d'etre is 'am I pregnant?'

Thread 11. Welcome one and all!
We do not judge, we enjoy TMI, we i encourage waiting to poas nobody listens and all the grossness you can find from a group of intelligent, articulate ladies.

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kats stats I have been dubbed the resident piss stick queen and if you don't test, you get a Starky's Star loaaaaaads of bfp'ers who keep us positive! We don't have rules, we love a good symptom spot, we try to stay grounded and not be hysterical sometimes we manage it aswell

star that's definitely a positive opk. You are having a surge! Make the most of it and bone like a champ!

rae as long as you're not doing contact sports like rugby or whatever you should be fine. My mate was hardcore dieting/training for a body building bikini comp before she knew she was pregnant and now has a beautiful baby girl.

Don't get me wrong hep I literally LOVE opk's! And I've found them a massive help, especially with working out my cycle, which is at best, erratic! Grin But because Dh is training is now paramount, even though he's got a blooming injury) I want to take the pressure off myself. And I'm doing it on the precise that actively ttc (with charting cm, opk's, I didn't drink etc) will only make me hopeful, and this sounds miserable but I'd probably do better the next couple of cycle if I wasnt thinking "well we dtd the right amount, I charted right and I still didn't catch"

Congratulations mymr!

I did opks starting at about cd7 but I ovulated at about 11 or 12

Hep154 · 21/02/2016 13:58

thanks Ni

Ni4444 · 21/02/2016 13:54

Congrats on the positive opk Star! Totally understand... I was so excited when I finally got one!!

My hurray on your BFP!!!! Did you say you were cycle 7?? Good to know it can happen even if it takes a while!!

Hep I've started from about 5 days before expected O date

Hep154 · 21/02/2016 13:54

thanks starky, kwick

I reckon that we should do what ever we can to de-stress and enjoy the dtd. For some people opk helps and for some it hinders. For me, i want to figure out my cycle as i got it so wrong last month. I don't think the SMEP method is for us.

As for de-stressing, this forum is doing me a world of good!!!

I think the best advice, for those of us with access to LL, comes from Prof Robert Winston : "have lots of fun sex", so if c0ck rings help ....

kwick I really do wish you the best of luck, IVF is not an easy journey. But it does work for some.

Kwick709 · 21/02/2016 13:37

hep I normally started with OPKs around day 9 but I think it really depends on your cycle length.

Blimey there was so many pregnant women yesterday at Ikea! I want to be one of them soooooo much!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 21/02/2016 13:34

hep last cycle I okpd religiously every day from the day after af ended. This month I don't think I'm going to bother opking at all. Just going to dtd as much as possible (every other day) as it seems unlikely I'll catch. Not sure whether it will be a good thing but currently I'm certainly feeling less stressed about it now the stakes have dropped.

congratulations mymr

blue hope you get your positive opk, keep on dtd!

zazz Flowers Sorry you're having a sucky day.

pug definetly do a frer tomorrow, I'm not sure I see anything but line eyes are a nightmare!

jem I get really weird I get dreams just before I'm due af, i'm sure it's the subconscious messing with my brain afs they're always baby dreams!

elle he doesn't sound callous, just like a bloke, they don't have the same hormonal urges as we do so they don't get the stress I think that we put on ourselves.

Congrats mymrknightley Flowers

ZazzlesTheCat2 · 21/02/2016 13:11

Thanks jem and elle :) I've taken lots of pills, eased the pain. I really think soy isoflavones messed me up this month and give me those weird symptoms in the tww. Throwing them in the bin!!

So stuff I'm doing this cycle:

  • continue with high dosage vitD
  • start taking epo
  • continue with pregnecare
  • alcohol ban
  • limit caffeine / drink decaf
  • lots of fruit and veg
  • use pre-seed
  • dtd similar to smep
Also looking into inositol so may take it next cycle.

elle on the advice of starky ages ago I've purchased a c0ck ring thing - hoping it gives the encouragement DH needs to do sex on demand (new phrase for us - SOD!) Grin... So basically trying to make it abit more interesting for him Blush

Congrats mymr!!! Another bfp Flowers

Kwick709 · 21/02/2016 13:09

I think someone was asking about supplements - here is what I take:

  • seven seas trying to have a baby complex
  • additional folic acid as I am overweight
  • co-enzyme q10 300mg (in am)
  • vitamin d 1000iu
  • vitamin c
  • vitamin b complex
  • vitamin e (in pm)

I do all this based on general advice for those trying to conceive plus some of what is recommended in "it starts with the egg".

Some fertility boosting foods:
Walnuts
Cinnamon
Cayenne pepper
Eggs
Leafy greens
Sweet potatoes

bluebird3 · 21/02/2016 13:07

Congrats knightley that's brilliant news!

Thanks for everyone who gave me advice about spotting before af, you all put my mind at ease. Still waiting for a positive opk this cycle...due in the next day or two. Smile

firstgo1984 · 21/02/2016 13:03

Congrats mrknightley

Feefeefs · 21/02/2016 12:46

Love length!!

I see it mymrknitely! Bfp!!

I think we need a frer pugmummy! But I think the squinters are hard to photograph.

I'm rocketing between not thinking much about TTC to full on symptom spotting every tiny thing. Trying to remain positiveConfused

Did an Opk as I'm only 11 dpo and there were 2 lines so couldn't resist after that. I'm so excited I'm shaking. Lucky no. 7

Hep154 · 21/02/2016 12:25

thanks star

I dithered and bought a clearblue digital one and some cheap internet strips.

My thought was i would do the strips at home, but when i am travelling, or when i think i am really closer to ov i could use the easier digital.

the cheap strips haven't arrived yet.

my ewcm is usually obvious, but not always.

hopefully the strips will arrive in the next few days, so i'll start as soon as they arrive. (should be wednesday)
