First time TTC - join me on this journey

Hi all, this is my first time TTC and would be grateful for anyone else who wants to join this journey with me until I get a BFP.

I have been using the Period Diary app to track my ovulation/fertility dates. I have a period that lasts 6 days and usually my cycle is approx 27days. According to the app my ovulation date was yesterday (13th Feb). We have tried twice before this date.

Wondering if there are any others which have had successful pregnancies using solely apps? Or if they have any tips on identifying ovulation?

Would love to share the highs and lows with you lovely people on this journey x

Was made redundant yesterday and landed in the Blighty this morning. And now it's all about DTD and TTC for a baby #1! No Iraq or work related issues and stress involved! Hopefully will be positive before I know it!

Harpsichord- stay strong! Fingers and toes are crossed for you and it's a BFP!

Harpsichord85 · 21/04/2016 22:04

Slip it into his food! Lol apparently 2 Brazil nuts once a day are enough of a boost for men. Has lots of zinc and selenium which is what men need! This nausea is not going away! Nearly hurled twice today Confused

sparksalot · 21/04/2016 17:32

Hi! Yeah so hard to not test! I wish I hadn't and I will be trying my hardest not too in future...
I was nauseous just after a had my BFP so fingers crossed for you!!

I've had mad headaches for 3 days now probs just hormones after the chemical. Can't wait to start trying again Wink.

Just had row with DH about him taking some ttc vitamins he just doesn't get how all consuming this can be Angry I want us to be as healthy as possible x

Harpsichord85 · 21/04/2016 17:08

Oops so many mistakes in that. Lol. I have a test at home so hard not to pull it out and test! Is what I meant to say.

Harpsichord85 · 21/04/2016 17:07

Hi everyone!
How's everyone today? So I've been feeling super tired this week. And today just sitting around feeling REALLY nauseous . But could be something else...when I had some health issues last year I had nausea. Trying not to read anything into these signs. Still 5 days till I should test! I have a rest at home answer it's so hard not to get it out just to have a go lol! Luckily the next few days are going to be busy so I should keep my mind off of it...

JustmeC · 20/04/2016 22:05

That's good news for you I'm glad to hear that! I think it's just the unknown because it's our first one. Not knowing what is normal etc but I'll get there! I think I need to stop googling things and just let things happen :)

sparksalot · 20/04/2016 20:51

Thanks Justme. I'm sure it all will be fine with you, you're almost 7 weeks!
I had what they call a chemical pregnancy. The hospital confirmed it today, it means I can go ahead and try again straight away though so that's good!!

Is there anything you're particularly worried about? Don't Google anything if you can help it! x

JustmeC · 20/04/2016 17:34

Glad you are feeling a bit better Sparks. I have only known since Sunday but am 6+4. I'm trying not to worry but it's difficult not to. I hope all goes well for you when you try again and good luck to all the other ladies.

sparksalot · 20/04/2016 12:54

Hi Rach! It did indeed drag and all the days in between too!

I just wanted to apologise for being a total downer with my tale, im feeling much more positive now, onwards and upwards! Smile

RachTom19 · 20/04/2016 12:14

Hi all,

Hope it's ok to join in!

I've decided to take the plunge! I'll take my last pill on Sunday (didn't want to quit mid pack) and then as soon as I've had my first AF I think it will be all systems go, so to speak.

Is it just me or are the weeks dragging as soon as I decided to go for it.

Good luck ladies! X

sparksalot · 20/04/2016 11:29

I'm ok yeah. I was only pregnant for a week I think, but I had the whole 9 months mapped out! I can't imagine what a mc any later would be like Sad im getting over it now. I had a 3 beers last night woke up with a stinking headache, I think I'll try and stay off the booze from now on Grin

JustmeC · 20/04/2016 11:12

Really sorry to hear that sparks, hope you are ok! :(

sparksalot · 20/04/2016 09:56

I used opk's from amazon along with ovia, and it worked 3rd cycle. It was a relief to know I was actually ovulating after being on the pill for so many years!

I'm going to the EPU today, I felt I should still go even though it's all gone. My thinking is they can at leat put mind at rest that I'll be ok to start again.

Good luck everyone i'd love to know how the acupuncture goes! X

Russkispy · 20/04/2016 06:39

Fuzy - I've been using the OPK sticks for the past year now, buying them from Zoombaby.co.uk. Starting OPK from CD10 and I'm usually OV on CD13
I'm in CD9 today and leaving Iraq tonight in time for DTD :-) fingers crossed

Harpsichord - try to wait till it's safe and more reliable to test. I know how impatient this wait can be but scientifically, it's better to wait. Good luck!

Fuzyfelt23 · 19/04/2016 21:24

Welcome newbies!

Sorry to those of you not having much luck.. Only ever had one MC and didn't actually know I was pregnant at the time, cant imagine what it's like to have a BFP and then have it taken away 😞👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩 hugs to you all.

Harpsichord - omg good luck! Worst wait but resist the urge! Testing early always leads to disappointment! Fingers crossed.

I relied on Ovia for first cycle and now suffering with awfully heavy painful AF. always like clockwork but suffer when it comes. Going to try ovulation sticks for cycle #2... Any body else use them??

Exciting to those starting out their journeys.

sparksalot · 19/04/2016 18:57

Hello all and thanks. It's been a shitty few days but husbands 30th bday today so it's taken my mind off things!

The waiting to test is a bugger! I hated it but if this has taught me anything it's wait as long as possible xx

Bellini239 · 19/04/2016 18:23

Hi everyone and welcome to newbies! Sorry to hear the news sparks I hope you're feeling ok! Harp how you getting on with the acupuncture? Xx

Harpsichord85 · 19/04/2016 17:10

Hi to those who just joined! And to the existing members. So sorry to hear about your experience Sparks x

So I'm in my 2ww! ! Driving me insane! Ovia says 8 days until I can test! 8 Days!!! Ugh I hate this.

That's good news about the test Blondie.at least you can get to the bottom of the problem if there is one!

Russkispy · 19/04/2016 17:05

Thanks Blondie.
Sparks- sorry to hear it and yes, here's to the next cycle.
Last night Came across an interesting site- expectingscience.com - if anyone is interested, or maybe familiar with it, but certainly makes an interesting read

Blondie0912 · 19/04/2016 15:25

Wow this thread blew up last night! Welcome to Russ, Sparks, and Jessica Grin GrinGrin and lots of baby dust to you all!!!!!

So sorry to hear your story Sparks- I can't imagine how that must have felt... You have a great attitude about it though- it wasn't meant to be- onto the next cycle- but maybe have a few glasses of wine in the meantime, or chocolate Wine

How is everyone getting on? I just had a scan today of my lady-bits... GP referred me because of AF being unpredictable for a while now plus no BFPs Confused... The consultant said there was nothing to worry about but I don't get the results for about 7 days Sad... Just going to keep my fingers crossed and keep DTDing... Haha!

JessicaClaire · 18/04/2016 22:32

Hi ladies :) First time TTC, just come of the pill and started first cycle! So excited for this journey! Hope to share it with you all. I'm 23, getting married in August!

sparksalot · 18/04/2016 21:33

Congratulations to all the ladies who've had the bfp's!! Grin

sparksalot · 18/04/2016 21:31

Hello all hoping I can join in this group!

We've been ttc since Jan, was in the pill for 16 years ive been using ovia which I love! Had a BFP last Sunday Monday and Tuesday. Started to bleed last night got bfn 3 times since, so guessing it's gone with the pain and backache! It's total pants, had a bit of a cry today. Doc is sendin me to EPU on wed but I know it's gone.

Just want to get this over with so we can start again Sad

Russkispy · 18/04/2016 19:22

Congratulations!
Can I join you, ladies. First time TTC for baby#1. I've just turned 40. Been off the pill since 2014. Checking OPK since then and pretty consistent with OV on CD13.
I've been using Ovia app but found it misleading and inconsistent with my days and fertile window. I'm now using and relying on calendars on whenmybabydue.com and countdowntopregnancy.com
I've just finished my period and will be at home in time for OV. Fingers and toes crossed for happening from the first go. Am I lucky enough?!

Bellini239 · 18/04/2016 19:08

Congrats x
