Thread for the down at heart and lacking in optimism

I probably shouldn't do this, but...lovely though the ladies on my current ttc threads are, there are times when I feel I need a break from the upbeat atmosphere.

My story- 38, going on 39, three children easily conceived in my 20s, ttc number 4 for 3 years before finally achieving a pregnancy that ended in foetal death at 12 weeks and miscarriage at 13 weeks (Oct 2006).

Frequent lapses of hope. I simply can no longer believe that it will all be OK, that this month will be the one.

Now contemplating stopping trying.

hi all.....
i hate my body too!!
stupid thing, why cant it just do what it is designed to do without all this hoo-haa?!
well, yesterday i posted that af had come early, day 23....
i need you all to bring me back to earth and give me a bit of a reality check please.
Yesterdays "splodge" was unexpected and unwelcome, but also has not continued into full on af. I had swollen tum and bit of pain but nothing major. A little later last night i got a bit of pinkish discharge, but not proper blood. This morning, and sorry if this is tmi, but there was nothing when i went for a wee, normally, when i first come on, morning is like unleashing the floodgates . nothing! All day, nothing, apart from very very slight pink when i wipe after a wee.
All you FTC'ers know by now what my poor addeled brain is thinking...........implantation implantation implantation!!!! Please put me straight, and tell me to pull myself together. Im sure i havent even ovulated, never mind managed the immaculate conception part 2.
xxxx

duchesse · 09/01/2007 17:16

Sorry- Impatience, I thought you were Rahrah. It's the booze- I can't see straight. How are you getting on with being jinxed? Any signs of either period or pregnancy?

OP posts:
duchesse · 09/01/2007 17:13

Actually I think that Impatience is on day 39 or 40...

Rahrah, which topic did you put it in? Try putting it on several- health, pregnancy and conception eg. Perhaps you need to go and bump it from time to time.

No one has answered to my thread... Stamp my feet!!!

Impatience · 09/01/2007 10:24

Greedy, is sfdh refering to dearest/darling or dck hed?

I did ANOTHER test this morning. Despite all our squinting neither of us could even hallucinate a line. Even our eyes have lost their optimism. Greedy, I'm really feeling for you for your ridiculously long cycles! If this is my body trying a new strategy I just want it to know I DON'T LIKE IT. It's hard enough trying to insem at the right times when everything's predictable! Pass the spliff this way please, it's never too early for me.

Eclipse, take that fab holiday! One month of not trying isn't going to break the bank. Prob not going to make a difference anyway, huh?

babydu........ ah f it.

ladybug007 · 08/01/2007 22:49

By the way, Greedy, I totally empathise. My dh is away nearly all month, then back, then away for most of feb. I know he's not sure about having a baby, but as Austin P would say, jeez, throw me a fricking bone here!

ladybug007 · 08/01/2007 22:41

I absolutely agree. Well, don't watch any soaps but the storylines still manage to filter through by osmosis. Accidental pregnancies shouldn't happen on Celeb Big Brother at least, but you never know, I suppose. So nice to have grumpy virtual friends - despondency rules!

ura21 · 08/01/2007 22:35

oh i know! pull up a seat next to me and we'll sulk together. btw does anyone else get really pissed off at all the 'accidental' pregnancy storylines in soaps or is that just me? mind you i got pissed off by the toothpaste last week - yes toothpaste!!! (the one that offers 3 in 1 protection for your (non-bloody-exsistent) family) someone call the men in white coats...

ladybug007 · 08/01/2007 22:30

Oh and a dry white wine please!

ladybug007 · 08/01/2007 22:29

Oh please, oh please can I join in? I've been FTC for about a year, am 36 and have a dh working abroad a lot. Am going to visit him in a few days but think it will already be too late for this month. Plus all my friends are pg with their 2nd babies, all of which 'just happened' or took about a month to conceive. Boo hiss ( but am thrilled for them really, just, you know).

ura21 · 08/01/2007 22:07

oh go on then, if you insist! the despondent side of me says i've nothing to lose.

duchesse · 08/01/2007 21:59

Wine, Ura? You sound like you need something stronger. We have vodka, tequila, and someone over there has a spliff. I think it might be with Cocoa the guinea pig at the moment. Oh, yes. She just fell over giggling. Look at her little feet waving...

ura21 · 08/01/2007 21:52

Hi all, can i join too? feeling really fed up that it i now a year since coming off pill (though when i'm being honest once i factor in reg af, it's only 9 months of ttc - only huh) but really am feeling it's never going to happen. best mate is pg - due in 4 weeks, happy for her (really) but also v esp when talking to her dh last w/e who kept saying he thought it would take much longer and was dissapointed it had happened so soon. wanted to slap him! pass the wine please.

rahrah1 · 08/01/2007 21:17

Sorry only joking...

Gloom to all....

rahrah1 · 08/01/2007 21:16

I've made a thread on Clomid and PCO, so I can get info about it prior to my appointment with CRM. I find I get more info from here than when I go to a consultant. Then I can ask questions and look like I know what I'm talking about. So if any one has any info for me, please post on this thread

Babydust to all

duchesse · 08/01/2007 20:42

God, me too. I refuse any of those twee expressions. I'm glad it's not just me...

OP posts:
greedyforbabies · 08/01/2007 20:33

ginger baby i mean! was that obvious!

just been on another more chirpy thread and felt the need to post on here how much i HATE the stupid babydust thing! soory to all who belive in babydust, but it seems so twee and nicey nicey to me that it bugs me everytime i read it!

greedyforbabies · 08/01/2007 20:30

duchesse - fantastic idea! might not get a ginger one then either!

duchesse · 08/01/2007 20:16

Hey, Greedy, I have a super time-saving idea: why not get someone else in to do the deed if SFDH is going to go away at crucial times? ;)
