iwillbemrsminty · 26/05/2016 07:47

Morning all Flowers waves

Just to let you all know that FRER's are buy one get one free in Boots! Grin
Just ordered a 2 pack so get 4 tests for £10.49, am very excited!

Love a good bargain me!

Back later to catch up properly. X

SunnyDays1987 · 25/05/2016 08:25

Yeah definitely have a few drinks minty, it's too early to have a real effect on any pregnancy and if you didn't drink and AF came you might be even more pissed off?! I would just refrain from getting shit faced perhaps?!

Well I only temped for half a cycle the first time until after I confirmed OV, and the second time from after AF until after OV the second time and it worked for me. It's quite easy to see on a graph if your temp raises and dips because a BBT is really sensitive so small differences look quite big. But it is a ball ache as well so maybe just see how you go!

Sorry to hear about your Dad, must have been very hard for you. Sounds like you'll have to get trying relatively soon after your first is born then if you want a couple in the not too distant future!! I've seen a few people on conception threads who are trying 6-8 months ish after giving birth! I personally would have rather rammed pins in my eye balls at that stage but each to their own!!

Thrush sounds grim DrMum, hope that clears up for you soon. Have you had a few positive OPKs then or is this the first time? Yes I live for nap time haha! Yeah I ordered them a few days ago so they should come end of this week to beginning of next week. Only got 20 though to see how I got on with them. Hopefully won't use them all up before I actually ovulate haha!!

Cd5 here, AF still present but dwindling. FW seems a long long way away at the minute!!

Hope you're ok ohno xx

DrMum83 · 24/05/2016 20:22

Hey

So, opk positive tonight, yay! Not sure if it could still be a body fuck up as only just got bfn or what, and to complicate matters, I've got thrush (tmi) so checking cm but tricky. Either way, I'll try to dtd later. Tbh, I'd much rather watch Corrie (love it, I'm sad)

Jealous of your hol minty but how cool if you find out whilst you're away! I took tests abroad and got a positive resulting in my DD so hopefully you'll be the same I then spent two days trekking around Spain trying to buy more tests but they only sold them in pharmacies and you had to ask for them so chickened out take plenty with you!! You could easily have a baby at 35 and then a second at 37, that's still young. I've got a good feeling for you this month.

sunny glad you got to catch some rays, I bloody love nap time! So did you say you've ordered some OPKs? You are in for a pissy treat!

Love to mimi and ohno hope you're both ok

iwillbemrsminty · 24/05/2016 14:42

Ha ha well I will definitely be having a drink when we are away, there's no question, I just wont get pissed!!

You might be right there Sunny, we'll see how this cycle goes. Fingers crossed. Interesting about temp being able to tell you if you might be pregnant, might be worth doing it just for that ha ha! But then I suppose you will have to do it for a while beforehand so you know what's normal and what isn't.

Aw that's really lovely that they moved and you have them nearby. Yes if I was to go down the SAHM route, we would need to move nearer to both parents for definite. Luckily mine and DP's live only a few miles from each other. York's alright isn't it! It is nice in summer having a nice walk or a drink in the sun. It's just not so good when it rains. And rains and rains!

I'm trying to think positive, but on the other hand part of my just expects AF so as to try and lessen the disappointment of another month passing and still no positive. I'm so aware that I am nearly 35 (dp is 35) and we want more than one child so time isn't really on our side. And we both want our parents (dp has both mum and dad but my mum is widowed, my dad passed away when I just turned 18) to still be able to enjoy having grandchildren and to be able to help with childcare which I know she will be delighted to but she is almost 70 so not a spring chicken!

SunnyDays1987 · 24/05/2016 13:22

Haha yeah exactly it's rank!! Yeah, he was probably drowning in red wine at the time but it all worked out ok haha!! To be fair I just had a small glass every night so I wasn't too bad. But the weekend came and I started spotting so I presumed I was out for the month and had about 5 glasses over the weekend, then found out I was pregnant on the Thursday! Whoops!!

I think if OPKs are working for you then there's not really any need to temp. I didn't get on with them last time but I think that was because I didn't really know what I was doing. Interestingly though temping can give you a bit of a clue if you might be pregnant. If you have a dip in the middle of the TWW and then it rises again it can show implantation. It happened to a woman on the May bus. I stopped doing it when I confirmed OV and I went in holiday but I did take my temp the morning AF was due and saw it was very high instead of low so that made me think I might be pregnant! I wish I just had a textbook cycle and all I had to worry about was DTD!!!

My family actually all moved over too not that long ago, which is lovely. I don't think I would have hacked being a SAHM without family close by. York is lovely though isn't it. I've been for a day a few times. Lovely by the river in the sun!! I'm just outside cooking away getting my vitamin D whilst DS is napping.

are you feeling positive about this cycle then?

iwillbemrsminty · 24/05/2016 13:16

Exactly! And that's what happened every time I tried! Oh god yeah, that does sound like fun and games! Ooo that's really interesting about temping, thank you for that. It's maybe something I can look into next cycle. Without any DC I could get into a nice routine before I get out of bed every morning! Maybe once I get my head round it, it will be less confusing.

That's what I thought too, distraction is good! I like the sound of your DS implanting whilst you were relaxed on holiday, I could do with some of that!

Yep I'm in North Yorkshire. York to be precise! Although I am from East Yorkshire, family are all still there. Are your family still back where you moved from?

SunnyDays1987 · 24/05/2016 13:03

Haha yep I agree. I do not want to piss on my hand ever thanks!! Although wait until your pregnant and you have to do the samples around a big bump. That's messy!!! I temped for two cycles last time I TTC and it was really good. It predicted my due date bang on for my son and helped me to be sure that I had definitely OVed. But you can only really do it if you have a relatively consistent wake up time after a decent chunk of sleep, which obviously with a 16 month old I don't!

Oh fantastic news about going on holiday. Nothing better than something to distract you during the TWW. My son would have been implanting whilst I was on holiday with my family and I'm sure being relaxed helped!

Yeah it's me in West Yorkshire. Did you say you were North Yorkshire?

iwillbemrsminty · 24/05/2016 12:55

Oh god I know what you mean, I can't be arsed with the peeing on the sticks themselves method, what a pissy mess it makes!! I always do the peeing and dipping into a container, its so much easier! Eeek I am excited for you to start doing your opk's! I thought about temping, but it sounds a bit Confused to be honest!

Glad to hear you're feeling quite good today. Nothing better than waving the witch off, it feels very good!

I've got my fingers and toes firmly crossed for everyone too. I think Mimi is in front of me, by a week if I remember rightly. She's been quiet lately, I really hope you're ok mimi.

Well we are off on hols to Majorca on 4th June (well it's a night flight so won't get there til early hours of 5th) for a week and AF is due about the 10th I think, so going to have to pack some FRER's! And some bloody Tampax! We've booked all inclusive so cue lots of yummy food and drink Smile.

Is it you or Ohno that's lives in Yorkshire? i'm too lazy to read up through the pages Blush

SunnyDays1987 · 24/05/2016 12:03

Thanks for the advice. I'll start about cd17 then, so still not for ages off! They've not come yet anyway. Haha yeah I hate peeing in a pregnancy stick but maybe I'll get in to peeing on an ovulation stick! Well I presume you dip them?! To be fair I dipped my BFP as well, I was too nervous to risk peeing all over the place. Haha TMI I know!

I'm feeling quite good today. Starting to wave the witch off so that's probably making me feel better. Fingers crossed for some BFPs this cycle for everyone. When are you going to test?

iwillbemrsminty · 24/05/2016 09:23

Morning Sunny ... waves to everyone else!

I've been doing it twice a day, before work and then when I get home around 5.45pm although I understand the morning one isn't likely to be as useful as the afternoon one. I've noticed a difference this month especially between the morning one and the afternoon one, it was a clear positive then the second line in the afternoon had faded somewhat i think making it negative within 11 hours, so yeah it is crazy about how quick they can change. They also have to be just as dark or darker than the control line to be positive, which you probably know already. I usually do a few afternoon ones from CD9/10 and then twice a day onwards until I've a good idea that I have ov'd. I think that's a good idea to test from 5 days before when you usually ov. Your POAS addiction is about to go batshit crazy!!!

SunnyDays1987 · 24/05/2016 08:26

Oh and absolutely no clue at all what that picture is!!!!

SunnyDays1987 · 24/05/2016 08:25

Hi minty! Great news on the ovulating! Really hope this is your month Grin It's a bit crazy how fast they change though. How many times a day do you test? When do you start testing from? I was thinking from about 5 days before I usually OV?

I'm cd4 but don't usually ovulate until around cd22 so ages to wait yet and that's if the vitamins don't mess my cycle up so who knows! Gives me a bit of a break to try and clear my head before next TWW anyway.

Hope everyone is well!

iwillbemrsminty · 23/05/2016 22:24

Ok ladies I'm back! GrinGrin that is all!

Thank you for replying earlier and I'm sorry for popping on and off again so quickly. How rude of me.

I hope you're ok ohno. How are you feeling today? This TTC lark is very stressful, it's easily said to just relax and it'll happen but the pressure gets to you. And clearly it gets to the men too. Have you had a chat with DH yet? They just don't seem to 'get' us sometimes. Hormones never help either. Inconsiderate bastards! Sad

Brill news about your BFN drmum. It's taken ages but you got there in the end. Are you going to be back on with TTC again now? Eeeeeeek.

Sorry AF got you sunny. That's poooo. Fresh cycle now though, let's keep positive.

mimi how are you lovely? Hope you enjoyed your night out with DH.

I think I actually ov'd today as I had a few crampy twinges inside so fingers crossed our dtd tonight might have done the trick or even when we dtd during the weekend. My opk tonight at around 6.30 was back to negative as the second line much paler than this mornings so it's back into the TWW. Who is next to join me? Think it may be mimi but not certain.

Just noticed this Archers what is it?!

SunnyDays1987 · 23/05/2016 10:08

That's interesting to see the progression minty, thanks for that! Happy DTDing!!!

iwillbemrsminty · 23/05/2016 09:55

Thanks lovely ladies, it's the bottom one on here and it's slightly earlier than previous months at CD12. Need to pounce on dp tonight then tee hee! I'm not an expert with the OPKs but will of course help if I can sunny.

Will be back after work (after the pouncing obvs GrinBlush)

Have a good day all. Xxx

Waving the witch off and starting afresh.. Buddies welcome!
SunnyDays1987 · 23/05/2016 09:04

Oh and I meant to say no I've not just come off the pill. I went on for about 3 months last year but felt awful. I've had 6 periods since coming off the pill!

SunnyDays1987 · 23/05/2016 08:38

Morning everyone. I think the OPK looks positive too minty! What cycle day are you on? Get DTDing! I've ordered mine for next month so I can try and know in advance whether the vitamins have messed up my cycle again. So I might be coming to you lot for advice when I start testing because I've never used them before. I know the general idea but I don't know when you test? In your cycle and what point in the day etc?

That's interesting about your luteal phase too DrMum. I wasn't stressing about the 10 days originally but then when I had spotting for 3 days before this month I thought something might be up. It could well be just the month I've had but thought I'd give the vitamins a go again anyway. I really hope it doesn't give me another crazy long cycle. Great news on your BFN though! Do you think you have ovulated yet?

I'm really glad your DD is better too, it's beyond depressing when they're ill isn't it. Thanks for the pep talk on conception etc too. Even though I'd kind of being telling myself that, it's still nice to hear someone else say it as well!! I'm absolutely sure it won't be the end of pregnancy and newborn stages for you either. You're so right about MN. The hard thing is the more you obsess, the worse it all feels but it's so hard not to I think? I'm really disappointed in myself because I thought I would be much more relaxed second time round, but last month I was a nightmare. Hoping to be better this month.

I agree about the DH thing too. Mine says he just puts it out of his mind during the TWW but I think it's so much easier for them to be separated from it when it's not their body and I don't think that they feel the broody burn like we do! Sounds like you have some other issues with your DH though too ohno. Definitely worth a proper chat away from the baby if you can.

Hope you're ok too mimi. Happy Monday everyone....At least it's bank holiday next weekend wooooo!!!

DrMum83 · 23/05/2016 08:28

I'd say yes that's a positive! Defo. And sex for you tonight! Catch up tonight X

iwillbemrsminty · 23/05/2016 07:57

Morning everyone. Hope you're ok sunny and ohno. Great news about your BFN drmum Smile I will catch up properly tonight with everyone all but very quickly can you pls tell me if you think this is my positive opk? It's from this morning and we dtd yesterday morning, we need to dtd tonight too don't we?

Waving the witch off and starting afresh.. Buddies welcome!
DrMum83 · 22/05/2016 20:53

Hi all!

I'm so sorry ohno that you've been feeling so shit. I hope today has been better for you. I know how you feel - my DD gets bigger every day but dya know, even in spite of the mc, I can't help feeling that this can't be the end of pregnancy and newborn stage. I absolutely agree with sunny - once you've had one healthy pregnancy, I think it would be really unusual and rare to not be able to conceive and carry a healthy pregnancy again. I also agree that MN is a warped world. Everyone is all so tightly tracking their cycles it feels like you've been trying forever and the days feel like they're passing so slowly, but it's completely normal for a healthy couple to take 12 months to conceive. I know that sounds shit and most do conceive within 6-8 months, but please don't feel there is something wrong.
I hear what you're saying about worrying about your relationship and separating before conceiving. Is it worth sitting down with DH and having a frank discussion about your feelings? Perhaps you're on different pages and men just don't get what it means to us women. It's an unshakeable urge that consumes so much of us. They could never get that. I know it sounds stupid, but could you write down how you feel and how his recent behavior has affected you? You might find he starts to help a bit more? Hope I'm not overstepping the mark.

sunny sorry the witch got you. I wouldn't worry too much about the luteal phase - mine has always been 10 days and I've conceived 3 times (don't think miscarriages are anything to do with it) It may just be things setting down post pill (you were on the pill weren't you, my memory can be crap!)

Hope all the babies are feeling a bit better.
You're both brave shouting at the twats in the mother and baby spaces. I normally internally combust with rage but I'm a spineless cow and could never get he balls to say something, well done!

In other news, I got a bfn yay!! My Dd is a lot better too, thank fuck.

Waves to minty and mimi hope you're well

ohnonotanother1 · 21/05/2016 22:17

Thanks sunny. I've had s good old cry (and quite a lot of wine) and I'm feeling a bit better. My hormones are horrendous, I have honestly never known them to be this bad. I do get pmt and maybe a little weepy (like the odd tear at OBEM) but I've honestly been in hysterics most of the day. In hoping this means I'm setting down after a few months back on the pill.

I was more worried that we'd end up separated before another baby than physically unable to have one. I look back on the early days fondly because they were the easiest time for me - I had never been especially maternal so was fearing the worst but remember thinking how easy it was. I was lucky because the day DH went back to work after pat leave my dad arroved from overseas for 3 months and we had an amazing summer, I had help, was well rested, not lonely and Im so close to my dad that it was just a lovely time, the hard bit came when he went home and winter came and crap like going back to work became a focus. And now those lovely snuggly early days seem so long ago 😢

I'm fairly sure I wil wake up tmrw (or worst case mon) feeling perfectly normal!

How's everyone else's weekend going? Are we all on the booze now?

In other news I took some of my aggression out on a twat who parked in parent and child with no kid earlier in the supermarket complex thing. There were no other spaces and it just started raining so I ran over to them and asked them to move their car because we had a baby. They looked sheepish but did move, then we saw them in the aquarium shop later and had to ask them to breathe in and let us down the aisle because we have a baby and need to get by... HA!

SunnyDays1987 · 21/05/2016 18:45

Oh and Angry to the inconsiderate arseholes who use parent and child spaces. I read someone saying how parents shouldn't have the right to park closer to the store. Clearly missed the point on THE EFFING WIDER LINES Makes me so mad. Good for you for telling him!!!

Oh and I laughed at the 'agonising two minutes' comment too!

SunnyDays1987 · 21/05/2016 18:42

I'm really sorry you feel so shitty today. Packing away the perfect prep is definitely the end of an era. I can't relate to missing the early days but I know that sometimes it feels like they won't be your baby for long at all and that's sad. From what you've said it sounds like you're having a difficult time at the minute in general and you're probably very tired and run down. I'm sure it doesn't help that you're feeling very broody and AF has just arrived. I've had some irrational moments of thinking that I might never have another. But you have to try and be logical about it. There's no reason why you wouldn't be able to conceive another child is there? Sometimes I think places like MN give you a warped perception on reality because it draws a lot of people who have problems and want to talk. If you think about the real world, do you know many people who are unable to have a second child? I really don't. It's so hard and shit but you just have to stay positive.

Hope that doesn't sound like I'm preaching but I've had to have a stern word with myself today too so I'm kind of just saying the same thing to you!

As for DH and the SAHM stuff, I guess only you can work that out. I have lots of wobbles about being a SAHM. What is it you don't like? Could you maybe get a few hours of childcare to go for a chat with DH and try and clear the air a bit?

Hope you're ok xx

ohnonotanother1 · 21/05/2016 18:03

Oh ladies, af has brought with it a massive gush of hormones today and I need some love.

Me and DH are having a rough time together, obvs I'm not preg when I wanted to be, I'm feeling shit about my weight but can't stop eating, I'm not sure I'm massively happy/confident with my new sahm status. And to top it off I've just packed away the perfect prep and steriliser of my son's. He's growing up and I love him so much but also miss the baby stage. This is all made worse by the fact I can't really talk to my husband about it because it ends in an argument, if he even notices the fact i sit and cry about it fairly regularly at the moment. I need a cuddle and instead he aggressively tells me it'll just get easier with a bigger child and that if I just left him to go out drinking all the time we wouldn't fight.

I know it's all hormones but for some reason this month they've come with a vengeance. I must have cried for about 5 hours today. I did take some of my frustration out on a twat who parked in parent and child at the garden centre when there were no other spaces and ran across the car park to make him move his car. But other than that I've just cried to myself while my husband naps.

I think I'm genuinely getting scared that I may never have another baby. I may never need to wait those agonising 2 mins while the perfect prep kicks out a bottle at 3am. Or curse myself for forgetting to sterilise. I know I'm being ridiculous but ffs these hormones!!!!!!!

Inwouldngonand get wine but the kid is getting sicker and is currently screaming the joint down and refusing dinner Sad
