I'm going all out this month with SMEP, pressed, EPO, OPKs....

Definitely sounds like you're in with a chance then ohno! Hope you manage to have a relaxing few days away.

I'm debating buying some conceive plus. I don't know why. Again possibly to feel like I'm doing all I can. It's bloody expensive though. The only place that seems to do click and collect is lloyds pharmacy and it's £15 a tube there!! I don't want to risk ordering from Amazon in case it takes ages to come. As we'll be starting the serious DTD from Sunday onwards. I ordered some last time I was TTC when j was convinced my period was coming and then got my BFP later so by the time it came I was already bloody pregnant! I don't know, I'll mention it to DH later.

Hope every one is ok Smile

ohnonotanother1 · 01/06/2016 22:22

I don't have enough battery left for anything more than a quick update but I've come away for a few days, think I'm due to ov thur or fri and haven't brought my opks! This is a massive result for me! Back home tmrw so I'm going to try and avoid opks and actively try and dtd tmrw and Friday!

Waving to everyone Smile

MmmMalbec · 01/06/2016 14:53

Oh well that sounds promising then. Is this a shorter cycle than usual then? What is your usual cycle length? Maybe it is all a bit hormonal, hope so for you! Definitely focus on your holiday.

Haha thanks! DH would love to know I'm discussing his balls online haha! Only CD12, so on the way but still not in the business end of things for a while. Yawn.

Yeah it would be lovely to all get BFPs together. I didn't really contribute to the pregnancy bus last time, I found it all a bit too fast paced. Much prefer groups like this where everyone actually talks properly!

Haha sorry to get you into the silly wives tales!! Hmm it's a difficult one. Guess it depends what you believe. The NHS says folic acid and vitamin d is all you need. But conception websites often say it's difficult to get enough of what you need from your diet unless you're really really good. I got my BFP last time on the first month of using the seven seas vitamins but it might have just been pot luck. I started taking them and then had a 41 day cycle so went back to folic acid (this was pre TTC, when we were deciding when to start), but after having a dodgy period last month I decided to go back on them. My logic at the minute is that if I don't get pregnant for ages then I'll wonder what if I'd have taken them. So really I guess it's down to you and your mentality.

Yeah I'm an August birthday and I hated it growing up, so I always said I wouldn't do that to my child! But I might be being dramatic and I might feel differently if we've still not conceived by then! It's also a bit time pressured with me being a SAHM, I don't really want to be off work for absolutely ages so a smaller age gap would be better. I know it doesn't always work like that though!!

iwillbemrsminty · 01/06/2016 14:14

Ooh Mmm I meant to ask dear, I am taking Boots own brand of folic acid and vitamin d supplement - is this enough of should I try one of the special TTC ones instead? Sorry if a daft question, just want to get it right as i wasn't taking it before when I had the chemical and been wondering whether it would have been a sticky bean if I had been. Probably not but ....

iwillbemrsminty · 01/06/2016 14:08

I've just checked back on Ovia and I got BFP on either 11 or 12 dpo last time, which was CD26. Today is 8dpo and CD21 so may I should try and not poas just yet... I have had some slight pink tinged cm this morning, not normal for me and especially not at CD21 so wondering if something is happening, plus having strange niggly pains in my left side. All I can do is hope!

Thanks Mmm, I'm usually so bubbly (according to everyone else!) but I just feel so flat. This morning, I just wanted to stay in bed snuggled up to dp for the whole day. Was a struggle to get out of bed. I know I will cheer up a bit when I get home and see dp. Think maybe just need to get finished at work so can concentrate on enjoying our holiday.

Hope the offending ball does get sorted pronto! What CD are you now?
I never knew anything about all these foods that are supposed to be good for you when TTC. Going to be getting some of those brazil nuts asap!! Can understand you wanting to avoid July/August as birth months, will you stop TTC completely to avoid them and then restart once they've passed?

I would love it if we all got our sticky BFP's really close together Smile, that would be ace. Let's have faith!!

Hope Drmum, Mimi and Ohno are all ok.

MmmMalbec · 01/06/2016 12:10

Ooh not long to go then Minty! What day did you get your BFP on last time? Sorry you feel so shit, perfectly normal to have times of generally feeling emotionally all over the place. Think it's TTC related or are you just generally a bit down? Hopefully it's pregnancy hormones.

Ah yeah forgot about you being a nursery nurse. You'll be absolutely fine Smile. The hardest thing is the lack of sleep I think, really hard to think rationally when you're so tired. But hey ho, it doesn't last forever!!

Haha thanks. Can't help but feel angry with the offending ball, just don't need this extra complications at the minute!! Hopefully it'll get resolved quickly any way.

So, I bought some Brazil nuts today apparently because they help during implantation. Which I'm sure is utter bollocks but I felt like I needed to do something! On the grapefruit juice at the minute and will be on the pineapple after OV. I'm embarrassed for myself Blush!!!! I stupidly worked out due dates on MN before based on 35 day cycles and I only really have another 4 cycles to conceive before it gets to July and August birthdays which I'm desperately trying to avoid. If I have any long cycles that will drop to 3 cycles to get my BFP. I know that puts stupid pressure on us though, but I wanted to know what the timings are looking like. Fingers crossed. I wonder what the chances of us all getting sticky BFPs this month would be?! I'm guessing not very high but I'll keep the faith!!

I'm very jealous of your holiday countdown Minty!xx

iwillbemrsminty · 01/06/2016 09:11

Morning all

On Friday I'll be 10dpo so might poas in the morning before DP goes to work.. If not then Saturday morning
I think. Or I could leave it til Wednesday or Thursday when I think AF is due. I bet she'll turn up too, the bitch. Fuck knows, I'm feeling really emotional today. Last few days I've felt really up and down. I feel fat and ugly, been in tears at the thought of wearing bikini on hols and wondering what on earth dp sees in me. Sad

As for babies I do have some experience, I'm the eldest girl of a loads of cousins (my mum eldest of 6) so always was babysitting the babies and I was a nursery nurse so have experience of working the baby room etc but that's as far as it goes. A whole lot more to learn! And DP has no experience at all.

Eek your DPs sore ball sounds painful Mmm ouch. Hope it he gets better soon. Xx

MmmMalbec · 01/06/2016 06:39

Thank fuck no one minds me swearing Wink

Glad the passport is found Minty!! What's the earliest you would consider testing? Do you have much experience with babies?! I was a little bit clueless when we had DS but you learn fast!

Sorry to hear AF has arrived DrMum but on the plus side at least you're out of shitty limbo land now. Oh yeah the food throwing drives me absolutely mental. He just drops stuff off his tray to piss me off I think!! Oh I didn't realise you were a later ovulater too. Has it always been the same? I went to bed insanely early last night because I was so fed up so no DTD but we did the night before anyway. I don't think I will OV early. Might just be a change in CM with all the vitamins etc I'm taking. DH has a sore ball (TMI I know) and he's off to the doctor on Thursday. Really hope that doesn't affect TTC. Can't be arsed wasting another month!!!!

Ah I hear DS stirring so better get up. Happy June everyone though. We have to have some BFPs this month for sure!!!

iwillbemrsminty · 31/05/2016 20:49

Stupid phone!

Sad sorry drmum. I hate AF!! The start of a fresh cycle though, only positive thoughts allowed!

I haven't tested yet. Bit scared! May leave it til Friday...... Or I may not!!

iwillbemrsminty · 31/05/2016 20:47

Sorry about AF got you drmum

DrMum83 · 31/05/2016 20:24

malbec I love swearing, please don't tone it down lol. I don't ovulate til day 18 ish normally. That's exciting that you may be ovulating soon,,, are u gonna try to dtd tonight?! I know what you mean about why would you do this again after a shit night's sleep, when my Dd chucks her food up the wall, I can't imagine two doing it!

ohno hope you have fun with your dad. I remember you saying how lovely it was to have him around when your DS was born. Why the fuck do cycles mess up when ttc?! I wonder if sometimes, because we're scrutinizing things, we think they're all over the place but actually it's just normal variation?

minty glad the passport has been found! Have u tested yet???!

mimi thinking of you

So the witch got me Sad
That'll teach me for getting my hopes up. At least cycle has reset though and can hopefully get bk to normal now. It's crap, not only do you have to come to terms with a miscarriage, but then your body stops you being able to continue ttc for, what seems like, ages!

Hello fwiendies :)

First things first, bloody passport found!!! Was actually inside his suitcase in the loft from when we went on holiday last year... Hmm

Trying to catch up with everyones updates... lovely to see you back Onno, hope you are ok dear. I think it has been a wobbly couple of weeks for everyone in one way or another but I think we are all coming round again now, apart from Mimi, I hope you are ok lovely.

New babies have been making me cry this weekend too, so many photos on my FB news feed, sniff sniff! I want one! Nice one stocking up on the FRER's! I have 3 packs stashed now and some internet cheapies too Blush.

Mmm swearing is fine by me, it helps to get it out!

6 or 7 dpo here, the TWW is shit!! Symptom spotting furiously! Tender boobs and headaches. School glue like cm but not loads. Keeping everything crossed but trying to stay chilled at the same time. We go on holiday on Saturday night, cannot bloody wait but am feeling a bit Sad that if it isn't our month then af will show her fugly face when we are on holiday. Boooo!

MmmMalbec · 31/05/2016 07:40

Sorry that post was really quite sweary. If anyone is bothered by swearing just let me know and I'll tone it down!!!!!!

MmmMalbec · 31/05/2016 07:40

Morning everyone. Yeah I think you're right DrMum. Can't imagine the women back in my grandma's day got much sleep and they were banging out a kid a year weren't they! I took my temp when I woke up last time which wasn't always at the same time, but yeah I do think it must be difficult to get any kind of consistent reading if your kid wakes up in the night. DS has still got his cold and his sleep is rubbish. Trying to stay positive through the tiredness, whilst secretly wondering why the hell I would want to do all this again!!!

I really don't know about your cycle. Obviously desperately hoping that it's implantation for you. I hope you get an answer soon. What CD did you get positive OPKS when you were pregnant?

ohno good plan not to pick the FRERs up too soon. That's shit that your cycle has been confusing. I swear TTC just fucks everything up. It's like your body knows you want a baby so it'll start playing with your mind Angry. It'll be nice to have your Dad here then. Should help to keep you a bit distracted? Did you manage to get a final DTD in?

Yeah I'm glad to be in double figures now. CD11. Too much info but I'm getting slightly fertile signs at the minute, watery CM, and cervix is starting to soften and is really quite open. I don't usually OV until cd22 so I don't know what's going on at all. might do an OPK for the crack this afternoon

Hope you're TWW is flying minty and you've got a shitload of symptoms!!

ohnonotanother1 · 30/05/2016 21:58

Also my dad is coming from overseas for a few weeks so my poas addiction is going to have to either take on a whole new level of secrecy or take a back seat. I'm hoping the latter but I'm not optimistic Blush

ohnonotanother1 · 30/05/2016 21:57

Ooh drmum that sounds exciting!!! I have everything crossed for you that it's you implanting. That'd be a great start to June for us here! Wonder how long after implantation you could expect a bfp?

Malbec I'm the same a the longer it takes the worse I get!!

Just ordered some frers from boots so thanks for pointing out the offer. I've opted to collect in store after the 14th so they're not taunting me. Think I'm due on again around the 14/15th.

However the cycle is already a weird one so fuck knows what's going on. My af lasted a bit longer than normal (normally spotting for two days, full flow for four to five, one day of spotting but this time the spotting was much heavier, six days of proper af, spotting and then this afternoon had weird blood streaked Ewcm textured stuff when wiping, and have stomach cramps. Sorry to all who may be eating right now...)

A relative had a baby on the 27th. He's tiny, so gorgeous. So hormonal his cuteness made me cry excited tears haha

DrMum83 · 30/05/2016 20:21

And hope minty is well!

DrMum83 · 30/05/2016 20:21

Hey

Good to see you bk ohno! Hope you're ok. Sorry this month won't be a shagathon but you never know, they say your most fertile day is 1-2 days before ovulation! I've never tried reflexology or anything, I'd never rule it out though!
malbec nit sure about the exhaustion theory, I would imagine being utterly knackered and stressed to shit could stop ovulation because of all the stress hormones flying about, but I think that would be in extreme cases. Like you say, how do ppl end up with loads of kids if that's the case?! I use OPKs (religiously) but have never temped. I think you have to be so consistent with the measuring and charting, don't think I'd manage it.
Glad you're in double figures (cd) things seem so much closer don't they?

I had a tiny bit of brown blood this morning on wiping and nothing since. Thought it was probably AF but then my hopes slightly raised as this happened in the last pregnancy...! My OPKs are really strong, almost positive too, again, had this last time. Bfn though. I keep thinking, I'm either about to ovulate (or just have) (but why the blood?) or I'm implanting and the opk is picking up bhcg (wishful) or my cycle is just a twat and I'm still all over the place. Boobs a bit tender and cervix high and medium soft.. Help!!

Hugs mimi good to see you bk, missed you!

MmmMalbec · 30/05/2016 15:27

Booo that's crap!! But to be fair I wasn't relaxed the month I was actually TTC, only during the end of the TWW!!

Ah right yeah that's a bit of a trek then. Hopefully you'll ovulate sooner or there will be some resilient lads still hanging around! If you DTD today and OV on wed you're definitely still in with a chance I think!

I fear the longer it takes me the more obsessed I'll become Confused I'm debating not doing the OPKs this month just in case it drives me mad. I don't know though. I'll call it in a week or so!!!

ohnonotanother1 · 30/05/2016 15:23

Ha I know what you mean and I fear it means both general relaxing and not thinking about ttc. I've got a whole load of friends who did the stereotype of falling preg the month before ivf/clomid/the month they stopped trying ie not constantly obsessed with ttc! I'm aiming for that approach this month seeing as I'm not going to be around but doubt it'll work. And no, no chance of a quick hook up as I'll be 100 miles away with DH at home doing a mix of diy and a few work meetings so fingers crossed there are a couple of super speed hanging around. Will try and dtd again tonight but who knows....

MmmMalbec · 30/05/2016 14:33

Haha love the idea of gin for breakfast!! Yeah so maybe there's something in the relaxing?! I am hoping that relaxing just means not generally being over stressed rather than not thinking about TTC all the time because I'm not sure I'll ever get to that stage!!

ohnonotanother1 · 30/05/2016 13:08

I don't know if tiredness does directly impact your chances but last time I began trying as I was arranging our wedding which was a two part affair over 1.5 weeks, we fought about it non stop and we were also doing loads of diy and trying to move house. We went on honeymoon and drank like fish (literally gin for breakfast on the beach) ate crap but relaxed and it happened. So I do think there's a lot to be said for relaxing and resting. But no, you're right it can't be the be all and end all otherwise big families wouldn't exist!!!

MmmMalbec · 30/05/2016 08:51

Can I ask as well, those of you with other young children, do you ever think that tiredness might make it difficult to conceive? My Ovia app popped up and said that decent sleep is imperative for hormone balance and implantation. The rational side of me says no one would ever get pregnant with any subsequent children if that was the case, but equally I do worry it might make things take longer??

MmmMalbec · 30/05/2016 08:32

Morning all, happy bank holiday!!

Sorry to hear things haven't been great Mimi. Hope it gets better for you soon Flowers.

Thanks for the AB advice DrMum. It all sounds so confusing for you at the minute. Do you temp or just use OPKs?

Hi, ohno. Nice to hear from you again. Sorry you're having a bit of a wobble this month. TTC is bound to get on top of you at some point I think. Is there any chance of a meet up with DH?! Although I've read a good few people say they've got pregnant DTD 3-5 days before OV so you might still be ok? Glad you're feeling better on the Seven Seas. Pregnacare are just way too big and expensive I think. And they have more of each vitamin in so I think they're more likely to not agree with you than the SS ones. I like how the SS come in the pill like packet too! I also had some reflexology when I came off the pill. Can't remember if it was actually the month that I got pregnant but I know I was having some to try and get my cycle to come back to normal. I also took the SS vitamins (and conceived first month of taking them, but I don't know if that's a fluke or not). I also drank grapefruit juice every day up to OV and pineapple juice after day after. Again, that might be absolute crap but I'm the kind of person who needs to feel like I'm doing something. We DTD every other day for at least the fertile week, which ended up being the day before and after OV. I also did the pillow under the bum business as well. I do often wonder if being relaxed and well rested during implantation really helped. But that's because I was on holiday so really hard to recreate that at home and with a small child in tow. Can't think I did anything else really. I probably would have been having some reflexology again if I wasn't a SAHM. I don't know if it helps fertility but it definitely helps me to relax. Don't feel like I can justify the cost at the minute though.

Sounds like a good plan to generally try and be healthier though, if nothing else you might feel better.

Nothing to report here from me. I'm only cd10 (although I'm glad I'm now in double figures, feels like crunch time is getting closer) but even if I OV on time it won't be for another 12 days so still ages to wait really! DS seems to have given me his cold so hoping it doesn't turn in to too much because I'm convinced being ill might delay my OV. Who knows though.

I think minty is away next weekend, hope DH found his passport!!!
