Wondering if anyone wants a buddy?
I'm ttc #2 (DD 13m)
Just finishing AF and embarking on cycle 2

Come shove 2 fingers to the back of the witch and let's count down to O and POAS psychotically in a few weeks...

I'm going all out this month with SMEP, pressed, EPO, OPKs....

I'd def rather be a sahm than a working one (full praise to you all - I worked briefly part time from home and was knackered!!) but it does annoy me when husbands think we do nothing. He empties the bins and then somehow the magic fairy does everything else to keep the household running Hmm

I pass the time by doing housework and gardening, we are v fortunate to have quite a large house and garden so there's always something to be done. I also got about a million annual passes for stuff for Xmas so we go out and about quite a lot!

Today is a big day here - just had my final counselling session for pnd. I don't really tell people about it because I only really got help at Xmas when things got out of hand but I feel loads better now. So I feel it would be poignant to do a frer next Friday instead of going to my session! Actually work had a lot to do with my pnd, I desperately didn't want to go back as I felt a lot of my mat leave was taken up with pnd and marriage issues and I wanted more time with my son. Pnd, marriage issues and work are all gone so I'm not sure if the counselling or just sorting shit out fixed me.

How's everyone else getting on? How many dpo are you sunny? Any symptoms? I drank a load of wine last night because DH was out and also thought if I do start getting symptoms I best cut down but this early it wouldn't make a diff. Bit of a headache this morning and we've run out of Diet Coke - disaster!!

SunnyDays1987 · 13/05/2016 07:41

Haha DrMum I saw a GP about 4 months after I came off the pill and wasn't having periods properly and she was just step away from OPKs and all that kind of stuff! So definitely a different kind of dr to you! She was probably in her late 50s though so I don't know if it was all just a bit different then and also when it's all a distant memory to you you can't remember how stressful it can be?! Must be shit them telling you about being pregnant though. I remember when we were TTC an 18 year old girl who was living in a bedsit and single with no money told me she'd fallen accidentally pregnant. I was just like LIFE IS SO EFFING UNFAIR!!!

Yeah I think a lot of people seem to think being a SAHM is a bit of a jolly really but sometimes I'd so rather go to work. Especially if he's ill. Good for you going to the gym though ohno. How often do you get there? I find I've taken over the entire running of the house now I don't work, so DH would get some right shit if he said he worked harder! But I have to say I do really enjoy my few hours peace in the afternoon when he naps. That kind of makes it all worth it! How do you pass the time?

Haha yep definitely a symptom Wink!

ohnonotanother1 · 12/05/2016 21:15

Funnily enough drmum my first thought when I read that you are a gp was I bet you see loads of preg related issues - just what you need right now! Good to have a supportive gp though, I've heard that's not always the case.

I don't work - I've been a sahm for about a month now and am still loving the novelty factor. I mostly go to the gym then come home and eat the calories back on again, and potter round doing housework. Work is a whole different thread for me - a few political issues in our marriage about my employment status at the moment. In a nutshell I would like to not work, DH says he'd prefer me to not work and raise our son, but then moans that he works oh so hard and I do nothing. I jest that i do nothing - yes I do go to the gym a few times a week but I have a child to look after and chores to be done which is hard. He works long hours so he does help occasionally but generally can't be arsed and wants to sleep at the weekends so I largely do it myself. We have childcare for a few hours a week during which he thinks I love a life of Riley when really I'm scrubbing floors or ironing. Sigh.

So minty and mimi are you def out this month then? Back to the beginning of your cycles? Shitty - crack open the wine. Sunny I'm due on the 23 I think. Am going to try and be more restrained with testing this month but will no doubt be obsessively poas from 10dpo. Had weird feelings kid of like pinching in my pelvis earlier. Short sharp pricks that lasted for a few mins. Dr Google tells me it's too early to be anything of significance though dammit.

my husband is also driving me mad, is that a symptom?? Blush

DrMum83 · 12/05/2016 20:18

*so lucky, not do luck!

OP posts:
DrMum83 · 12/05/2016 20:18

Yes, I had a normal period after the mmc and then conceived... Doubt I'll be do luck this time.

I agree minty, interesting bunch of jobs/skills! I always think the midwives have got a great job, esp the Community ones as sunny said.
In the last few weeks I've had SOOO many patients coming to me to tell me they're newly pregnant - have just wanted to cry!! and if anyone tells me they're ttc, I'm like a mentalist with advice re OPKs, SMEP etc etc I swear they think I'm odd! Lol

mimi hope you're ok lovely. It's great that you have so much experience with little ones - will know who to come to for advice re my tantrumming DD!!

Waves ohno hope all is well

SunnyDays1987 · 12/05/2016 16:54

I worked in social housing, I did a variety of different things over the years but my last job was giving financial advice to young people starting in their tenancies. I don't think I'll go back to social housing though when I go back to work.

Oh that's interesting then. Do you want to work in any particular area of nursing? I kept thinking about midwifery but I really don't think I could hack night shifts. I'd love to be a community midwife though.

Oh fingers crossed for next cycle then DrMum.

Are you hoping to have a few children minty?

iwillbemrsminty · 12/05/2016 16:42

We are an interesting bunch! I love that Drmum is a GP and we now have a pre-school specialist. I am actually a qualified nursery nurse but chose to do legal accounts training after qualifying at college. Really, I wish I had done nurse training. It's something me and DP have recently been talking about me maybe doing once we have started our family. We'll see Smile What did you work as Sunny pre- DC?

I'm sure Drmum conceived dd the month following her previous mmc, but please do correct me if I'm mistaken drmum.

Cycle 5 now sunny.

SunnyDays1987 · 12/05/2016 16:25

What cycle are you on now minty?

SunnyDays1987 · 12/05/2016 16:23

DrMum glad the spotting has gone and hope for a BFN soon. How quickly did you conceive after you last MMC?

Oh that's interesting that you get it as well. I'm glad I'm not alone with that! Yeah DTD every day can be tiring! It's not been too bad is month but I think it will get monotonous if we are doing it for months on end. Erm I would expect AF around next weekend so would probably test start of the week after ish if she doesn't arrive. So quite a while yet (booooo).

Sounds like you all have interesting jobs! I don't work at the minute. I did work full time and intended to go back part time after having DS but they wouldn't accommodate me so I decided to have a bit more time off before looking for a job and now we've decided to TTC we are thinking I'll just go back when DC2 is older. Although if it takes ages to conceive we might have to rethink things!

I'm a big believer that symptom spotting is often a complete waste of time BUT I've randomly been really bloated this afternoon. I know I was really bloated before my BFP last time but I don't think it started this early! probably the Wispa gold I had before !!!

Mimilicious013 · 12/05/2016 16:12

I'm a WAHM, and I run a pre-school. It's nice to have a doc on board and an accounts manager Smile.

iwillbemrsminty · 12/05/2016 14:24

Sunny I reckon that might be a good idea to always assume AF will arrive. Then when it (hopefully) doesn't, it will be an even nicer surprise. I'm desperate for my two lines! tick tock tick tock

Drmum Oooo your username is very apt! Yes I work, full time, I'm an accounts manager aka dogsbody in a solicitors it's as shit as it sounds

DrMum83 · 12/05/2016 13:46

Hey all

Still bloody bfps but I think they're getting weaker, ffs! So impatient to get going now. Spotting has stopped though thank god.

Sorry af got you minty and mimi. That's shitty. Hugs to you both.

ohno when are you gonna start testing? (Sorry to be a bad influence) I open this thread with baited breath hoping to see some pics of preg tests!

sunny I get loads too for over a week which confuses me so we too just have sex most days for 2 weeks - exhausting. When ru testing?

Out of interest, do you guys work? Are you full time or part time?
I work 3 days a week, im a GP...

OP posts:
SunnyDays1987 · 12/05/2016 13:12

Oh mimi and minty so sorry to hear that AF has arrived. Absolute rubbish for both of you. Really hope that next month is your lucky month. I've read some people it's much easier to presume they won't get pregnant each month, but I'm trying to stay positive, as if I feel like it'll never happen I just feel worse. But I know everyone is different with hope they cope with TTC. Feel free to rant or vent or swear if you need to for a bit.

Ah I'm glad to hear that it's not just me who gets a lot of EWCM. Yeah I think we will still DTD for another few days yet! We have DTD every day for the last 6 days for some reason. We definitely planned to do every other day. Just kind of started like that and then we felt like we needed to carry on! But now I don't feel like I can stop for some reason in case OV was later than I thought!

Hope the TWW is going fast for you ohno and that you've got your bfn DrMum.

iwillbemrsminty · 12/05/2016 12:22

Hi ladies. I can now say it's definitely not implantation Sad

Thank you mimi. It's my own fault, I shouldn't have convinced myself it was the month. I reciprocate the lovely (hug) as it seems AF has now got us both. Sad But hey, June may just be our month hun, let's get through it together.

Sunny I get ewcm before, during and for a fair few days after ov too for some reason. Sneak a few more dtd in!

Ohno Urgh, the god awful tww! FX for you. When are you expecting Af and will you test before or wait til she is (hopefully) late? We are rooting for you!

Waves to our lovely drmum .

Mimilicious013 · 12/05/2016 08:55

Morning my friends
Cd23Star brown spotting here. Looks like the start of early afSadHmm

Oh minty (hugs) , hope your spotting is implantation hun. What is happening to you today. Fx

Ohno, hope the tww flies by fast and you give us some good news.

Sunny, I get ewcm just before ov and I seem to get it too just before af. Crazy bodies. Hope your ds is fine.

How are you drmum. Here is hoping the spotting has stopped and you finally get your bfn and can start the cycle again. Thinking of u

SunnyDays1987 · 12/05/2016 07:49

Does anyone mind telling me how much EWCM they get?! I seem to get it before and after OV. I remember googling it last time I was TTC and it all said that basically that meant I hadn't yet OV, but my BBT and eventually my scan confirmed that I had OVed on the day I thought but had got EWCM for a few days after! Makes it hard to be sure of OV date when I'm not tracking!

SunnyDays1987 · 11/05/2016 15:53

Quick message as I have a very clingy DS, but are you sure it can't be implantation spotting minty? Especially if it was brown and has since stopped?

iwillbemrsminty · 11/05/2016 13:07

Thanks Sunny its definitely a bfn isn't it. Sad I think maybe my chemical last month as altered my cycle but then I'm only CD28, and I was averaging 27 days. Just want the witch to rear her ugly head then we can crack on. What I thought was af yesterday was just brown spotting on wiping, I haven't had any more today yet. Feeling a bit down to be honest, I'm 35 next month and ttc #1 so I don't feel like time is on our side. It really does worry me.

Have had a quick read through of everyone's updates. Looks like it's you Sunny, ohno and mimi up next to poas! Let's have some good news ladies. crosses everything

Drmum well done for dealing with yesterday, I would have found that hard but you are doing fab girl! And the bleeding/spotting has stopped. I'm assuming you have to wait for that BFN before you can start trying again? And swear as much as you fucking like dear, I fucking am doing!! It just helps somehow.

waves to everyone and sends some Chocolate because we all bloody deserve some!

SunnyDays1987 · 11/05/2016 12:32

Yeah sorry minty that does look like a bfn. Hopefully it's just a slightly longer cycle. Have you carried on DTD?xx

iwillbemrsminty · 11/05/2016 11:55

I forgot this one X

iwillbemrsminty · 11/05/2016 11:53

Morning all. Am snowed under at work and want to catch up properly tonight but here's my original and inverted frer from this morning. See, nada! And no af either. Think it's going to be one of those cycles Confused. Will be back later to read the updates since yesterday I promise xx Blush

SunnyDays1987 · 11/05/2016 09:06

ohno welcome to the TWW! I think we will probably be testing around the same time all being well. Are you an early tester?! I haven't watched OBEM since I was pregnant with DS. Think it's taken the shine off it for me a bit after actually going through labour Confused! That's good about the swimming. I really should go more. Is it like an aqua babies class you go to? Hahaha old people and sex toys... Lovely image to start the morning!! Are you a SAHM then? I found it hard not telling people at work last time when I felt really awful. I told a close friend and my family but then told everyone else after the scan. I think I'd tell a few more close friends this time. If I had a MC I'd definitely look to people for support.

DrMum well I'm cd23 today and AF usually always turns up by cd35 so yeah TWW but I'm going to DTD a few more times just in case my luteal phase has shortened or anything. That's interesting about some people being more likely to implant any combo. I didn't know that. I read something about a new facility opening up to research reasons behind miscarriage. It said a lot of women will never know if it was a healthy or unhealthy pregnancy that they lost and it makes it hard to cope with and also to try and prevent it from happening if it's a healthy pregnancy. I can't imagine why people under play miscarriage. For me as soon as I saw my BFP I was invested in that pregnancy and would have been devastated to lose it. Glad it wasn't too bad with your friends though. You have every right to feel as fucking pissed right off as you want. It makes me so angry with the world when you read about people who abuse or neglect their kids and then people who want a child with all their heart suffer loses. PILE OF SHIT WORLD Hope you get your BFN ASAP. How often are you testing?

I hope I don't sound like an arse here but I feel strangely optimistic about this cycle. I think it's just first cycle confidence after conceiving last time I tried to. First time round I couldn't imagine actually being pregnant, but this time I can't imagine not being. I'm really hoping I don't feel too gutted when AF arrives. Obviously logically I know that the chances of not being pregnant are higher than being pregnant. I don't know, I can't explain it! I just hope it's a fast few weeks! Then after this cycle I might be a bit more realistic!

Any update minty?!

ohnonotanother1 · 10/05/2016 23:31

Eurgh more spotting is just not what you need drmum! Glad you survived the meet up. It's funny because I was thinking About early preg earlier. My husband ended up telling a couple of people really early on last time and I was angry. If I'm lucky enough to get preg this summer there isn't really a month where there won't be some event or another that id be lying through which means my DH will have told everyone involved in each occasion because he can't keep his trap shut so I think I may just tell people from the outset and if the worst happens then so be it, I'll have to tell them that too. I think it's easier as I'm not working too, it's not going to affect any career progression. You're right that it's so under discussed but I know so many people that it's happened to even just this year that I kind of think what the hell, they'd be my support network and would support me. We'll see, I'm sure when it comes to my bfp I might feel differently.

No fun updates but I am watching a show about sex toys now... There's an old pensioner testing them! Fair play!

DrMum83 · 10/05/2016 23:09

Hi

Sunny - God that must have been scary (pre eclampsia), at least next time you'll be monitored really closely. Hope you're ok - so are you in the 2ww now or are you just gonna have tons more sex?! Yeh, I'm kinda reassured that I can fall quite quickly (touchwood) I read somewhere that some women just catch and accept any old sperm/egg combo and hence get preg easily but lose the faulty ones later down the line. Apparently after two non consecutive miscarriages my chance of another is the same as a woman who has never had a mc... We'll see...

minty I hope that was ib? Sorry if it was the witch. The bitch. It's so disheartening when you've dtd so much and got your hopes up. Looking forward to an update that af never showed, fx'd.

mimi poor you, I really feel for you moving into your twelfth cycle. Dya think its worth a chat with your doctor? Not sure if you're over 35 but in the uk they'd start doing a few tests at 6 months to see if there's a reason why it's not happening. I'm not saying there is, unfortunately it may just be bad luck, but you must be so fed up. I'm sorry Flowers

ohno hope your DS is feeling better. I was lolling at the nap in car comment, I'm so anal about naps and maximizing them. I could not cope if DD didn't have a 2 hour nap everyday!! Glad you think you've done all you can this month. I'm getting excited for the upcoming 2wws!

All ok this end, bleeding had stopped but then spotted a bit today, ffs. I just want a BFN!!!!! Seeing my friend yesterday wasn't too bad. There was another friend there who I don't know v well and she has a 6 month old so lots of baby chat but I was fine mostly. I just feel some people don't get how heartbreaking a mc is - I think it's so under talked about and ppl think you'll get over it quickly. Well, physically I might feel better but I do feel fucking pissed off that it happened to me again (sorry about swearing)
Anyway, I feel better for a good swear now. Fun/happy updates please!!

ohnonotanother1 · 10/05/2016 23:05

So ladies I'm officially in the tww! Opks are very faint now and husband is asleep on the sofa so no dtd tonight, was too knackered myself so leaving him there so his snoring doesn't wake me haha! Just come up to bed and the end of an old episode of OBEM is on, making me think positive thoughts. Am going to try hard not to be a poas addict this month and stop wasting money on Frers. I'm a big believer in "relax and it'll happen" so I'm going to try not to obsess about it. I'm sure you'll all be laughing in my face when I'm poas at 5 minutes dpo Hmm

Sunny my ds loves swimming, he smiles as soon as we pull up in the car park. He's been having lessons for nearly 9 months so he's quite confident in the water. I agree it's a total pain in the ass though, it's so much less horrendous now the winter is over though. Dragging myself out of the house at 9am in the pissing down rain and cold was the pits!!

Mimi - I have short cycles too - 24/25 days normally. I figure it gives me more chances each year!! Im due to test/af again before the end of the month, around the 23rd I think.

As I'm lying here I'm feeling weird things going on in my tummy, not sure if it's my late dinner digesting of whether it's something to do with ov. Maybe the pains earlier were just Gearing up pains?

Waving to drmum and minty. Minty did you get full blown af in the end?
