Symptom spotters, tww - ers, slightly hysterical hormone laden ladies! Regs, lurkers, intermittent posters! Our raison d'etre is 'am I pregnant?' Depending on how much Ovia (Whybird/Ovibitch) has pissed us off/messed with our fw she is either the oracle or a sanctimonious charlatan.

Just a warning, we move FAST! Our threads last on average, about a week before they're full.

Thread 10, Welcome one and all! Group of weirdos, wee hoarders, covert opk or okp, depending on what your autocorrect decides addicts with a side business in CM management!

We do not judge, we enjoy TMI, we i encourage waiting to poas nobody listens and all the grossness you can find from a group of intelligent, articulate ladies. Fart stories make us laugh, stories about cervical mucus, pooing, cysts and nausea equally welcome.

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kat, I have been dubbed the resident piss stick queen loaaaaaads of bfp'ers who keep us positive! We don't have rules, we love a good symptom spot, we try to stay grounded and not be hysterical sometimes we manage it aswell

We like acronyms, we make some up: PET = Proper expensive test. We love the d(h)...which can of course mean 'dearest' or 'dickhead' why, what were you thinking?

Zazzles those look like positive signs! Shock

Evergreen15 · 15/02/2016 09:05

Ah I understand Meadow, yes, if you are coming in June then it makes sense waiting. Smile

ZazzlesTheCat2 · 15/02/2016 09:04

Lots of catching up to do....

snow big hugs & Flowers for you.

meadow our future children will have double barrel too, I like the idea of us all doing it but DH refuses to change his name and then so do I!

Loved reading all the proposals. jem I gave a DH like yours, very passive and laid back about the 'big' things in life which drives me insane every now and again.

So I'm about 7-8dpo today. Boobs still sore and noticed some blue veins on them - they must be 'new' as I've never noticed them before. But maybe I'm just wanting something desperately that isn't there!
Also been keeping an eye on my cervix...still a bit of cm and position is low and softish. I can't remember what is normal for me this time of the cycle so completely irrelevant.

Evergreen15 · 15/02/2016 09:01

Jem it is as if you were describing my DP! Lovely lovely but I am always pushing the relationship. Very cautious, wants but won't... But lovely nevertheless Smile
Kwick I have to say that we are finding the chukka pretty exhausting and stressful, so a bit of magic potion would be good Wink

MeadowHay · 15/02/2016 08:51

Ever Well, I am only 22 and I have been on BC since I was 17 (pill and then depo-provera), but before I did yes my cycles were like this Sad Extremely heavy periods with flooding since about 6 months after I started them when I was 12, and by the time I was 16 I had a 2 week cycle which returned as soon as my BC as finished - one week of bleeding, the first 4 days of which are horrendous, and then one week no bleeding, then one week bleeding etc. I don't think I can see a doctor here in France because I would need to go straight to a gynae (the system is different) and I can only afford to see one that doesn't charge extra fees, and there are only two in the area and apparently you have to wait months for an appt. We return to the UK end of June/beginning of July so by the time I got an appt I would probably not have time to do anything other than maybe a few investigative tests. My healthcare here is not completely free either and we are on a low income so it makes more sense really to just wait another couple of months and use the NHS when we get back. I'm not sure if I am ovulating or not but even if I am I basically have no luteal phase at all. Sad AF has come today, FF doesn't know what to do with me!

Lara, me and DH double-barelled both our names together when we got married and children will have the same double-barelled surname. I wasn't going to take his surname and we already decided children would have them double-barelled but I thought it would be nice to have the same name as them so I decided to double-barell mine as well and DH thought the same so he did too. Smile

SuchaJem · 15/02/2016 08:51

House hunting how exciting elle, we're hoping to be looking too later this year. Buying in London taking us slightly longer than planned 😳

Had a very chilled weekend, been rather moody though. I got so cross at DH for asking for my opinion repeatedly on what to wear. Poor DH is treading on eggshells. I need to get my emotions in check!

I've got my running stuff today - it'll be my first run in about 6 months.. May be more of a jog than I think I fear.

LaraG13 · 15/02/2016 08:43

ever that's interesting about women not taking husband's surnames in Spain. I wonder why it still remains a widely-follower tradition here but not there. I haven't taken my husband's surname either. Not sure what we'll do if/when we have a baby. Probably double barrel their surname I think. We have discussed both changing our names to be double barrelled, and I think that's an option. What do others who have different names to their partner think they'd do?

Good to see you back bellini! Fx for this month.

snow how you holding up today?

starky no wonder you're going mad! You have insane willpower.

Evergreen15 · 15/02/2016 08:35

On another news, DP has definitely come around the idea of babies now. I know he said he wanted to try 4 months ago, but up until now I though he was going to change his mind Hmm but now I can tell he is excited as well Grin
Ni I have had those conversation a fee times. His parents are divorced and his sister is not married to DP, and I think he wants to do the same. But I told him from the beginning I wanted to be married and have kids (we met online and I laid my cards straight away) so I just have to wait. He might change his mind Ni. Take a couple of months without mentioning it. They dont like the pressure. Ni my DP is very private and doesnt like big events land attention. But I dont want that. I just want us a the witnesses at our wedding, not having a proper wedding, so maybe you can explain that to him.
Snow that sucks EnvyEnvy I have no advise as I know how much that sucks. I usually get a book and a cry and wine and a cry. Sorry Sad
Meadow sorry to hear you are stressed. This is so bloody difficult, not being able to tell what is happening inside your body! Were your cycles always like this? I think everyone has different cycles and people here talk about lengthening and shortening so try not to think that it can't be fixed. You should be able to see doctors in France? I am waiting for my scan next week, to check why sex is so painful. It is hard this thing.Hugs
Bellini I think positive, try tonight and tomorrow. It takes me two days to ovulate since positive opks, but 12 h to 36 h is the norm.

ElleSarcasmo · 15/02/2016 08:33

Good thanks Jem, we had a lovely weekend househunting and then seeing family Smile trying to be more chilled and getting some running in. How are things with you?

SuchaJem · 15/02/2016 08:29

jamjar your proposal story is so sweet. Think there was definitely an element of doing it on his own terms for my DH too.

mi and harriet your stories are so romantic too. I bloody love a proposal story.

How are you getting on elle?

ElleSarcasmo · 15/02/2016 08:14

Miley good luck! Hope you can avoid any embarassing incidents! Grin

Flowers Flowers Flowers to Snow, Starky and anyone else who's feeling fed up or stressed.

Evergreen15 · 15/02/2016 08:13

Harriet that is amazing!!! I am waiting for mine to do it, when it finally comes I will be like Hmm about time! Grin
OMG how adorable is that!!!! His little hand shaking! Blush
Moggy we are going to Brussels on the train Smile and in the summer to Spain. Yes, ok to fly during the first months
Starky has transformed me into a non testing one. I will always says today wait for AF from now on Smile
Miley I am giving my baby my surname as a second surname, asnit is the custom in my country of origin. And-- if when-- I get married, I am keeping my surname as, again, we don't change surnames back in Spain. Oh my! There would be a women's revolution if they were asked to take their husbands' names now!!! Confused
But I know this is the tradition here, so I hope my DP understands he will or else . I guess is nice to Mr and Mrs Something, rather than us staying as Mr Something and Mrs Way Too Many Surnames With Lots Of RRRRS
Meadow well done on the swimming!!!! You should be proud! Grin
Lillian those tests are beautiful!!!! No doubt there! When did you test??? Congrats!!!!! And what a coincidence with the timing Smile sorry about your mc last year

ElleSarcasmo · 15/02/2016 08:12

Ooh I've been awol for 2 days and so much has happened!

Huge congratulations on your BFP Lilian! Flowers

Huge congratulations too on your engagement Harriet! Flowers

Jam and Miwel your proposal stories are really romantic! We got engaged on a ski trip, up a mountain! It was lovely and neither of us could stop smiling! We skied down to a bar then and had some fizz, both of us were a little wobbly by then! Smile

Mooseville · 15/02/2016 07:58

Thanks all, I'll keep trying this week and we'll see what happens! We're away for the night next weekend so a nice hotel room and a few beers might do the trick! I can't remember who posted it but I did laugh at the lady whose partner had banned her from Mumsnet (obviously worked well for him that one!)
kwick I feel for you, until I met my DP 2 years ago (on Tinder! Lol) I had been single for about 12 years, no relationship seemed to get past a few dates stage. I would totally have taken your route if that had carried on. Good Luck and let's hope this next batch does the trick!
Good Luck at work miley

miwelaisjacydo · 15/02/2016 07:47

Miley good luck! 🤓
As everyone else is sharing. DH and I had been together for 8 years And we're saving for a mortgage. I just had resigned to the fact that we would just never get married but I did keep dropping hints. It was my birthday my parents were away and DH left really early for work. I was annoyed because of this. I had a shitty day and returned to find DH already home. He said he had a birthday surprise and had hand drawn a crossword. He said the last clue gave away my birthday treat.

Each question was to do with us and how we met etc etc. L The last was in will you spend the rest of your life with me? To which I replied I feel so sick!

I eventually managed to say yes. We then had a takeaway with DH family and then a lovely night away. It was perfect.

Mileymoocow · 15/02/2016 07:17

Aww you all have lovely proposal stories! Grin

I need you all to wish me luck. It's my first day at work with proper full blown morning sickness which is a total lie because it doesn't just last the morning at all and I'm living off yogurt and grapes. If I'm honest, the yogurt is a bit touch and go

Jamjar12 · 15/02/2016 06:42

Hugs all round, seems a difficult time for several people at the moment.

Just wanted to share my story re proposals in case it gives anyone a little hope!

DH and I have been together for over 10 years, we met when we were 18 living together in Uni halls. After uni, he moved 4 hours away from his parents to live with mine while we saved for a house. We finally bought one about 3 years ago and I was desperate for him to propose. Like, desperate. I stressed about it for a full year, questioning why we were even together if he didn't see us having a future, why all my friends were getting married and having babies and I was stuck with a boyfriend who didn't have the balls to make us official. I was miserable for months (probably clinically depressed but ashamed to admit it). It was difficult because I couldn't bear the thought of living without him but also couldn't bear the thought of us not being on the same wavelength.

Anyway, I'd made it very clear that I was unhappy and he was getting a lot of pressure from his friends, both our families etc. Then, we were on holiday in our old uni town where we first met and he got down on one knee at sunset in our favourite secluded spot and proposed. That night, we both cried about how miserable we'd been. He'd been waiting until it felt right and not just a result of everyone pressuring him, and it had been killing him because he knew I was unhappy. I'm actually incredibly proud of him for being so determined and not just proposing because he was expected too. We got married 6 months ago and it was genuinely the most amazing day of our lives. Yes, I may be impatient and foolhardy, but I know my DH balances me out by being steady and thoughtful.

So I guess, I just wanted to say that even if it feels like you're not keeping up with the Jones' or falling behind, I genuinely think we go at our own pace and do what's right for us. I have friends who are where I was 3 years ago and I'm just like, please don't waste your life wishing for something to happen like I did. He had the right to decide when and if it was going to happen, just as much as I did!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 15/02/2016 01:17

16 dpo now, and to be quite honest, losing the will to live! Still another week before af may deign to show up. Bored now! And im starving!

kwick I've got all my fingers crossed for you.

meadow I think I'm probably looking at pcos or something like that too, giving it till June and then I'm going to the doctor's.

pug af is a teasing bitch. Between her and ovia I've had my fill of sanctimonious cows being in charge of my baby making machinery!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 14/02/2016 23:09

ni I think 'don't tell the bride' and all those kinds of programmes frighten some men. I'm not surprised, they make us all look like wailing harpys with a princess complex! One of my bfs is in a similar position, her dp says he doesn't want the fuss she's one of the least fussiest people I've ever met I've got my fx he comes round.

snow rant away sweet cheeks! I'm fairly close to a rant myself. Pretty sure I'm also out this cycle, it's frustrating and so disheartening. I'm with you Flowers

bel lovely to have you back, Flowers that definitely looks positive to me, commence dtd with gusto my lovely! I'd count from today.

Pugmummy87 · 14/02/2016 22:13

Hi Meadow, yes of course. Smile

MeadowHay · 14/02/2016 21:56

Pug, I wouldn't be surprised if I have PCOS or something like that, always had problems with my periods pretty much since they started when I was 12. Don't know what next steps will be for us. Would it be ok if I PMd you a bit about it instead of derailing this thread with possibly depressing discussion of struggles with conception...?

Kwick, are you doing it alone or do you have a female partner? Sorry I don't know everyone's details!

Ni I reckon if you're not fussed on having a big white wedding and it's that kind of thing that puts off your DH maybe keep trying to talk about how nice it would be just to have a tiny ceremony and that. My auntie and uncle had a really small wedding at the registry office after being engaged for a long, loooong time and having two children. I think there was probably about 20 people there maximum, then we went to a nearby Italian restaurant that they liked for a meal to celebrate after, and it was still a lovely beautiful wedding. Smile

Ni4444 · 14/02/2016 20:55

Snow you're a sweetheart! Thank you for the kind words!
Jem you're right, he's crap at making decisions or organising anything! Think he doesn't realise how much he needs me to keep his life running smoothly!! Will keep ticking away at it, trying to convince him. Damn you Disney for making me believe it was all Princes and fairytales!!

Pugmummy87 · 14/02/2016 20:52

Bellini good to see you again. That opk looks like a positive to me. If you got that today, then it's detected the lh surge, so ovulation should occur within 12-36 hours. So I would probably count ovulation as tomorrow. If you dtd tonight and tomorrow and with what you've already done, I reckon you'll be covered!

Still no sign of AF here, despite her teasing.
