Thread 10 ttc#1 The one where we're all really bored of hormones, the tww and cervical mucus or Why is my eggo not preggo!?

Symptom spotters, tww - ers, slightly hysterical hormone laden ladies! Regs, lurkers, intermittent posters! Our raison d'etre is 'am I pregnant?' Depending on how much Ovia (Whybird/Ovibitch) has pissed us off/messed with our fw she is either the oracle or a sanctimonious charlatan.

Just a warning, we move FAST! Our threads last on average, about a week before they're full.

Thread 10, Welcome one and all! Group of weirdos, wee hoarders, covert opk or okp, depending on what your autocorrect decides addicts with a side business in CM management!

We do not judge, we enjoy TMI, we i encourage waiting to poas nobody listens and all the grossness you can find from a group of intelligent, articulate ladies. Fart stories make us laugh, stories about cervical mucus, pooing, cysts and nausea equally welcome.

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kat, I have been dubbed the resident piss stick queen loaaaaaads of bfp'ers who keep us positive! We don't have rules, we love a good symptom spot, we try to stay grounded and not be hysterical sometimes we manage it aswell

We like acronyms, we make some up: PET = Proper expensive test. We love the d(h)...which can of course mean 'dearest' or 'dickhead' why, what were you thinking?

starky that's horrible, your poor dh! He must have been a bit shaken up??

Think I'm sold on the applicator lube ... I'm missing my usual durex play! Tmi Wink

Moggysinger · 11/02/2016 18:30

pug yes! We bought our house 6 months ago and still feels like we are living in a building site. Still not unpacked. Have attached pic of spare room. This is the baby room. If we get our bfp we have a lot of work to do, should probably get on with it! Needs total redecoration. Dh was so enthusiastic about house renovation before we moved in. I am crap with diy so am constantly waiting for him to do something. Would rather just pay someone else but not allowed!!

In other news I was rudely awoken this morning with a uti Angry
And just coming into my fw! Think we got carried away too soon with too much dtd. Now downing pints of cranberry juice and having a night off dtd. Stupid body!

Harriet I have that gel too. You get so much in one application it's a bit much. I wonder if u can just use half of it.

LisaTheGreek · 11/02/2016 18:06

Pugmummy - yep, you're preaching to the choir here!

We moved into our (first proper) house 18 months ago and it needed everything doing to it.

It's mainly been me (along with hired help for the big things like knocking down walls that I can't do Wink), and DH is no help at all. Sometimes he expresses an interest in helping, but he's so bad at it it just ends up doubling my time to fix what he gets wrong....

Do you have much more left to do?

LisaTheGreek · 11/02/2016 18:04

Oh no, Stark, that sounds horrible. Ok glad your OH is ok.

That's a big group of guys as well, bloody hell!

Pugmummy87 · 11/02/2016 18:03

My arms are now killing me due to painting our bedroom this afternoon. Not even finished yet, half done, will finish it off tomorrow. Anyone else do the diy in their house? I do quite a bit, not because DH is crap, he really has to be motivated to that kind of thing, if he had he's way, we'd have magnolia walls all our life lol.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 11/02/2016 17:42

Heeeeeey dubs was wondering where you were up to! That's really good of your doctor, sounds like they're keen to get it sorted for you.

Long story short, there was an incident last night while dh was at work (on his own) where a large group (4 car loads) of men decided to attempt intimidation. It was unpleasant but nobody was hurt. I was irritated by it last night but by this morning it had completely upset me thinking about what could have happened. Hopefully it's being dealt with by higher ups but I'm not happy, at all. Trying to do deep mindful breathing and be calm because winding myself up will do no good.

Hi all, just checking in. Haven't posted in a while but have been catching up with the thread. Seems a bit late to put in my stats but here they are:
Age 34
TTC #1
Cycle #3
7dpo

No symptoms to report apart from a random sore throat yesterday. Doc has referred me for an ultrasound to check for endometriosis because of some symptoms I've had during my periods. Just a precaution though and she said plenty of people conceive okay with endo anyway.

Determined to remain relaxed, may be in for the long haul. This thread is such great therapy!

❤️ To all your pet pics. I really want a dog but we live in a first floor flat. Though OH thinks we should get a puppy with a baby so they can grow up together aw! (Hopefully we'll have moved by then).

harrietm87 · 11/02/2016 15:52

elle it's called fertile check fertility gel (just had to google- no wonder I couldn't remember such an uncatchy name!). It was all they had in my local Boots - £12 for 6 applications so quite pricey! I will let you know next month if it works!

Tbh even if it doesn't actively assist conception, it did make dtd feel good, which may become increasingly important as my 10day fw continues!

FXSkip · 11/02/2016 15:17

Meadow sounds like a purrrfect way to end the day if you ask me! My little cat joined me under my yoga blanket this morning for a nice long snuggly savasana Grin

My plan of action for the next FW (a mere 14 days away, apparently) is to use Concieve juice, DTD every other day from end of AF to...as long as I can muster. And to make time to make it extra fun, in order to test my arousal theory. And book a major holiday to take me mind off it, and test my theory that it will happen at the most inconvenient time in our lives.

SuchaJem · 11/02/2016 15:08

no worries starky, hope you're alright?

StarkyTheDirewolf · 11/02/2016 15:07

cat café! That is pawesome (you’re welcome) I'm having a shocking day, so thank you jem for lifting my mood! Grin

meadow I'd be inclined to just dtd as much as you can manage. Trust your body and the apps with a pinch of salt. Every day dtd can have an effect as far as some peoples studies. I think it depends on the individual. I went for a the more the merrier approach as far as sperm can go! On the premise that it only takes one!

LaraG13 · 11/02/2016 15:03

jem i have fx for you

meadow regarding sperm quantity/quality, I believe there is a slight decrease in good sperm if you dtd every day, but this is outweighed by the extra that is obviously there from dtd twice as much, if that makes sense. So on balance you are a tiny bit better off dtd every day rather than every other day, despite the count being a little lower. But, it's only a small difference and every other day is still really good. Since some of us can't sustain dtd everyday throughout the whole fertile period without burning out, every other day is the best option. But if you can and want to every day, go for it!

SuchaJem · 11/02/2016 14:54

elle that’s a lovely pic, you’ve inspired me to get my running shoes back on. I haven’t been in months. It really does clear your head out doesn’t it?

lara It did make my heart race in the loo when I saw it. I am trying to be cautious and reasoned but I’ve had weird stomach cramps for two days and now this. I can’t stop myself getting carried away..

meadow cat café! That is pawesome (you’re welcome) Grin

MeadowHay · 11/02/2016 14:43

Reading about everyone's higher heartbeat has raised mine!!! I think I have a raised heartbeat about 50% of the time anyway from my anxiety Sad

OPK was negative, but I could see a faint line today whereas there was nothing yesterday, does that mean the LH is increasing? We dtd last night, should we do it again today? I read that if you dtd every day it can reduce the quality of the sperm so we were thinking every other day in FW? Or is that not true? Also, I assumed everyone knew about the oral sex, yes I have been abstaining, sigh Star Also have EWCM and FF says I am fertile...but I don't know, I just feel like it's all so unlikely because of my weird periods.

Going to a CAT CAFÉ later!! Really excited.

Chocaholic88 · 11/02/2016 14:43

Beautiful pic elle don't apologise, we all have down days

LaraG13 · 11/02/2016 14:14

Hi everyone. Not keeping up with this thread fully atm.

snow the heartrate sounds hopeful!
sucha the pink blood also sounds very hopeful - I'd be very optimistic if I had that.

Welcome to newbies!

Sorry to all that AF has got. Hope we get a few more BFPs in the next week Smile

ElleSarcasmo · 11/02/2016 13:20

Harriet thanks for reporting back, which one did you try?

ElleSarcasmo · 11/02/2016 13:19

Lol at minimal effort Zazzles! I wish mine would require less effort on my part!

ElleSarcasmo · 11/02/2016 13:18

Snow sounds hopeful Smile only 2 days til you can test now! Fx for you.

Jem could be implantation bleed? Fx for you too!

ElleSarcasmo · 11/02/2016 13:13

Sorry everyone for being on a downer this week...I have had a word with myself!

I went for a run earlier as it was just such a beautiful day...have resolved to be more positive and relaxed about TTC. otherwise I will drive DH away and I'll never get my BFP haha

Thread 10 ttc#1 The one where we're all really bored of hormones, the tww and cervical mucus or Why is my eggo not preggo!?
SuchaJem · 11/02/2016 13:02

zazzles and elle AF is due on 23rd so I will try and hold out for Star and not test until then.

Got a tiny tiny bit of pink blood when I wiped earlier. This never happens mid cycle.

Snowdog37 · 11/02/2016 12:28

choc that's so interesting too! I had no idea that an increased heart rate was a thing that could indicate pregnancy. I mean I knew about increased blood flow but never put two and two together 😜

See, now I'm getting excited. I need a swift kick up the ass to get on with work rather than google the afternoon away!

Snowdog37 · 11/02/2016 12:24

harriet no I didn't see that but I'm off to google... I just took my pulse over 30 seconds and times'ed it by two, and it's 98. I'm pretty sure at my yearly checkup in October it was in the 70's. Hmmm. I'm either very very unhealthy lol or maybe something is going on? I wonder if progest cream can affect your pulse? I don't want to get my hopes up as its such a hard fall when af shows up.

Chocaholic88 · 11/02/2016 12:20

snow I'm a size 4 and because I'm so slim I'm always aware of my body. A big sign for me was a higher heart rate that I noticed :)
