Thread 10 ttc#1 The one where we're all really bored of hormones, the tww and cervical mucus or Why is my eggo not preggo!?

Symptom spotters, tww - ers, slightly hysterical hormone laden ladies! Regs, lurkers, intermittent posters! Our raison d'etre is 'am I pregnant?' Depending on how much Ovia (Whybird/Ovibitch) has pissed us off/messed with our fw she is either the oracle or a sanctimonious charlatan.

Just a warning, we move FAST! Our threads last on average, about a week before they're full.

Thread 10, Welcome one and all! Group of weirdos, wee hoarders, covert opk or okp, depending on what your autocorrect decides addicts with a side business in CM management!

We do not judge, we enjoy TMI, we i encourage waiting to poas nobody listens and all the grossness you can find from a group of intelligent, articulate ladies. Fart stories make us laugh, stories about cervical mucus, pooing, cysts and nausea equally welcome.

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kat, I have been dubbed the resident piss stick queen loaaaaaads of bfp'ers who keep us positive! We don't have rules, we love a good symptom spot, we try to stay grounded and not be hysterical sometimes we manage it aswell

We like acronyms, we make some up: PET = Proper expensive test. We love the d(h)...which can of course mean 'dearest' or 'dickhead' why, what were you thinking?

Thanks irregular and jem. I'm getting obsessive again. This last week it's all I've been thinking about, it's such a waste of energy all this guessing. I'll be so sad if I don't get a bfp this time and it's only my 3rd cycle - I need to get a grip Grin

starky is there anything you can do to shorten your cycle or atleast shorten your LP?

StarkyTheDirewolf · 14/02/2016 13:36

Welcome island Grin ttc is so frustrating! I never realised just how frustrating and maddening it would be. I'd honestly thought that all my pre ttc fretting would one to nothing and I'd just get pregnant! And the constant questioning myself and wondering! Got my fx for your holiday, hopefully you bring back a little extra baggage. Flowers

zazz and jem I'm trying really hard not to symptom spot. Waiting is the worst! I was so hopeful last week, now, I'm not.

Congratulations harriet! What lovely news.

zazzles I've been trying to remember what happens to my cm at this bit in my cycle (day 20), I think it does get thicker and appears whiter. I've been getting more cm than usual, also very high libido. Am also constipated, and light headed. Wahhhhh symptom spotting left right and centre! It's so hard to not get hopes up, but I do feel different.

Glad you're feeling better moggy

Hello islandgirl welcome on board.

Hi all, I'm new on here so here's a bit of a summary of my story so far...

Age 38
Cycle length 31 days
TTC since Jan 2015 when we got married. Got pregnant in July 2015 but then mc at 6 weeks.

Since the mc I've become a bit desperate about the whole thing - I'm taking EPO, drinking grapefruit juice, taking pre-conception vitamins, I've tried using pre-seed, I started getting reflexology last month and I'm just waiting for Amazon to deliver the latest conception boosting supplement to me. Yep, just writing it all down here is making me realise how desperate this all sounds!

Anyway, now counting down to next FW which by a happy coincidence should fall during a holiday to Venice, maybe we'll have some holiday luck, fingers crossed anyway!

So does anyone have any other tips or suggestions of things to try/buy?! I'm open to pretty much anything at this stage. Anyone in a similar boat that can share?

Good luck to everyone Flowers

IrregularCommentary · 14/02/2016 12:07

Congratulations Harriet - that's lovely news Smile

Zazzles, try not to get too hung up on the implantation stuff - I had zero sign of it whatsoever, no cramping feelings, no twinges, no spotting, absolutely nothing. Everyone is different with that so doesn't mean you're out.

MeadowHay · 14/02/2016 11:53

Congrats harriet!! That is lovely!! Bet you are both feeling over the moon about it still! Do you have any imminent plans for a wedding or are you planning to wait awhile first? How exciting! My DH proposed to me in a Costa!! Blush

We went swimming this morning as usual, I think this is about the 6th time over the last couple of months, DH has been trying to teach me swim and I've been practicing with a float, and today I managed to swim a tiny bit on my own without a float!!! It is ridiculous how happy this makes me!! Grin

Some cramping when I got in the pool, and a teeny tiny bit of spotting. Yesterday I had a teeny bit of spotting but lots of EWCM and we tried to dtd but DH couldn't manage to finish - just did OPK and there is a line too (although not as dark as control) so we will dtd soon again...fingers crossed I guess?

Moggy, glad you are feeling better now after your cystitis, I have had it twice and it's awful!!

Mileymoocow · 14/02/2016 11:52

harriet that sounds like a perfect proposal to me. I want my OH to propose somewhere pretty private though I'm not sure he ever will! It doesn't matter too much to me, but I would like to have the same surname as our baby.

moggy we're off to Zante. I can't wait! We almost booked florida but luckily realised I could be pregnant by then and decided theme parks would be a no go with a baby on board!

Moggysinger · 14/02/2016 11:44

That's good to know thanks miley
Where are you off to in June?

I had skin cancer last year so now extra careful about sun exposure Confused Still love a beachy sunny holiday but will be sat there wearing my factor 50!! Grin

Ahh I see Harriet non hormonal coil sounds like the answer! Aldo, dh getting the snip sounds ideal .... But I wonder how he would feel about that, I'm sure it's only fair enough that he does his bit!

Cystitis seems to have gone this morning. Massive relief! Its so evil I always forget how horrible it is until it strikes out of nowhere Angry

StarkyTheDirewolf · 14/02/2016 11:36

I've got loads of tests, just no frers. I've got a collection of Internet cheapies and superdrug ones. But I want a frer, not that I'd use it, just because they're on sale in asda this week, twin pack for £6. Grin no point getting myself worked up though, ill only be gutted next week when af shows.

There seems to be mixed reviews on when to test with a long lp, so I may as well wait till af shows. Thanks kwick how are you feeling now? Flowers

harriet Congratulations! Tell us all the details! Awww miw that's lovely!

jem it would be lovely, but realistically, it's unlikely for me this cycle now. Got all my usual pre-af symptoms, long cycles means she gets a good run up at it!

*then we went out - not legend!

harrietm87 · 14/02/2016 11:34

Thanks everyone!

We were out on a walk and he said he had a present for me, gave me a box and his hand was shaking! Then as I opened it he went down on one knee and asked me. I cried! The ring is perfect - really simple gold band and single diamond. I love it. Legend we went out for a lovely meal (already planned - I thought for Valentine's Day).

It's weird because I thought I wasn't fussed about marriage - my parents are divorced and I don't think you need a wedding to be committed to each other, but now he's proposed I feel like our relationship will be a bit more recognised if you know what I mean. Haven't actually told anyone IRL yet!

Ni4444 · 14/02/2016 11:19

Lovely news Harriet!! Congrats!! Must talk to my OH about proposals again....!!!

Pug we're similar...anniversary on the 17th so we'll do something more special that day (when all the V day stuff is reduced! 😉

Aw, OH just gave me a beautiful bunch of pink, white, red roses. The old romantic! 😍

Mileymoocow · 14/02/2016 11:16

moggy we're going away for 2 weeks in June and i'll be 24 weeks. It's fine to fly you just have to be more careful about sun exposure and drinking plenty water.

Mileymoocow · 14/02/2016 11:15

Oh Harriet congratulations! How lovely!!! GrinFlowers

Moggysinger · 14/02/2016 11:07

Awwww amazing news!!! Congrats Harriet !! How did he do it? What's the ring like? How lovely!

ever YES to holidays!! Where are you going? We have been uming and ahhing about booking one in June but I think we just need to go for it. Especially as you say could be last one as a couple. Even if upduffed by then it's fine to fly isn't it? And if not upduffed I'm sure on holiday is an ideal place to conceive! Wink

Kwick709 · 14/02/2016 11:00

harriet massive congrats!! How exciting!!!! Star

Happy Valentines everyone!

starky and kat I have just suddenly been overwhelmed with the certainty that your time for bfp is near!

Kwick709 · 14/02/2016 10:54

Cheesecake makes me chuck up...

Feefeefs · 14/02/2016 10:50

Congratulations harriet! Delighted for you.

I had dreams it feels like all night last night, dreams about bfp, dreams about babies and small children and dreams about DTDBlush. Feeling a bit disorientated this morning

Kathrino · 14/02/2016 10:48

Congrats harriet!! How did your DP propose?

ZazzlesTheCat2 · 14/02/2016 10:45

congrats Harriet!

jem that sounds promising!

starky if I were 15dpo it would be torture for me not to test Shock, you're so strong!

I'm about 6-7dpo today. Boobs are still a bit sore which is a bit weird for me.Not much more cramping though, which I guess is bad news since implantation should happen about now.

Does everyone still get a bit of thickish cm on cervix at this point in their cycles? I think this is normal for me.

Pinklily1 · 14/02/2016 10:21

Congratulations Harriet, lovely news!

Planeteer · 14/02/2016 10:15

Yaaaaaay, congrats Harriet, that's lovely news. GrinThanksStar

harrietm87 · 14/02/2016 10:07

PS I have news - OH proposed yesterday!!!!

I was not expecting it AT ALL. Really delighted Grin

harrietm87 · 14/02/2016 10:07

moggy you can get a non-hormonal coil - that's what I had and highly recommend it because it didn't interfere with my cycles at all. Made AF a bit heavier but for me that was small price to pay after years of being all over the place with side effects from different pills.

SuchaJem · 14/02/2016 09:57

Morning all happy Valentines
